Ice blue eyes opened as the dragoness remained curled beneath her cold blanket. She stayed snuggled close beside her mate as he slept, but the cold she seemed to be catching just did not seem to want to go away.

Nostrils twitched and wriggled as she sniffled, then sneezed. A sigh as she snuggled further into the blanket, trying her best to get comfortable. Scattered around their room lay assorted books. Her alchemy book, along with her favored flower picture book, puzzles. some half done and of course the magic picture box. It wasn't on right now.

Aurthur had been looking after the little ones while the cold lingered. As neither wished their children to catch it.

*Unfortunately, it didn't take long before Aurthur caught the cold himself and he was likewise quarantined in their bedchambers while sister looked after the little ones. While normally he would snuggle with his mate, his body temperature was dangerously low for a creature as closely linked with the element of fire such as himself. He shivered almost nonstop underneath his heated blanket, coughing miserably. He had also lost his voice almost entirely. He roused every now and again to check on his mate, but with both of them so ill, it seemed that the Shimmerscales needed someone to take care of them for once!*

Are you feeling any better at all, love? *This was croaked out hoarsely, and with a bit of pain as it triggered a coughing fit.*

"I am feeling better, love" And it was true. Her cold seemed to finally be moving on. But unfortunately to her beloved. Still not wanting to risk getting their children sick, she stayed in their room. Only leaving it to seek out broth for them both.

They did not need to starve. Aurthur's broth she had managed to heat a little. Now the challenge posed was how to get the warm bowl back to their chambers without letting it go too cold, or hurting herself in the process.

Luckilly she could tolerate some heat. Just nothing too hot. Finding a tray, she nudged the still warm bowl onto it, along with a bowl of cold broth for herself and she made her way back into their chambers. Her tail pulling the door shut along the way.

Setting the tray down beside her beloved, she made sure the warm bowl was on his side, and soon she had settled back in. Purring soothingly as she tended to her love.

She would not lose him again.

<Thank you, my love.> *Aurthur's voice was by now completely gone, and he lapped a little bit at the broth before collapsing again entirely beneath his heated blanket, exhausted. His beloved wouldn't lose him again, not to a measly cold, but everything he did was so darn tiring and made his bones ache.*

<I cannot wait until this illness passes......How I despise these cold months....Fire dragons like me are not suited to cold......> *Even his mental voice sounded queer, thanks to the cold, and it wasn't long before he fell once more into a stupor.*

They say it always gets worse before it gets better. And momma found out that was true.

She took a walk with her beloved, just t get out of the lair. Later n she found herself back in bed.

Aurthur had carried her home, and now, she lay curled beneath the blankets of their bed in their chambers. Nearby lay a bowl of water and another of broth. A few puzzles and books still lay scattered about.

Not far also lay a hankie. Waiting for when it needed to be used.

Sniffles turned to sneezes and she buried herself deeper int their blankets, peeking out at the door to their chamber which stayed closed.

She would stay bed bound until the sickness would pass.
