A whimper quivered the ice dragoness' lips as she watched her children. Things were steadily getting worst with the two sick hatchlings. She knew they were dying and quickly, deteriorating like flowers without sun and water. She knew what she needed to do to help them but there were things that needed to be take care of first.

Patiently she waited for her sister to stop by, as she had been on and off during the week. Icer was not going to like what was going to be asked but ultimately it was Winter's decision to make.

Eyes closed and a rumble rattled her throat as she attempted to lullaby the young to sleep. She wanted them fast asleep by the time her sister arrived.

Slipping through the portal, she had made sure no one had followed her. She knew her sister was upset, and that she didn't look so well, though she didn't say anything about it.

Ice blue eyes gazed toward the lair that her twin sister had taken, and she moved that way, rumbling softly a greeting to her sister. Winter, how are you today?, she tried not to look worried, but most likely failed.

Hearing the approach of her sibling her head swerved. She knew who it was knowing well that Icer was the only one who could slip past the barrier. Lowering her head she looked to the hatchlings then to Icer.

"I am as well as I look." Which meant pretty crappy. Lifting her head higher she stared at Icer. "Icer. I want you to take Nalas'lis, Primarose, and Tre'sesa with you. I want you to take care of them in my stead."

I will do that for you sister, inside her heart hurt, but still wouldn't show it. Ice blue gaze falling onto the sickly pair with a frown then, they didn't look well at all. Speaking softly so as not to wake the slumbering hatchlings, what of the other two Winter?

Biting her tongue as she watched the sickly twins, maybe somehow she could help them, ice blue eyes drifted back onto her twin. {S} I will nae give up on them.

Head lowered she watched the sleeping hatchlings. "I am going to try to save them. There is a chance I won't survive but is it not a mother's duty to give her life for her children?"

Growing quietly she lowered her head, icy eyes turning to Icer. "Don't be sad or hurt, Icer. The chance that I will die will be slim but even if I don't die I will be limited to the cave and I want the children to have more then just these cavern walls. I want them to be apart of the world." She smiled to her sister in attempts to comfort her. "You will be their guide to the world."

I would do the same for my own sister, moving to give Winter a gentle nuzzle. I will bring them back to visit you when they are old enough, a smile given then, hoping.

Until then, we will care for them as if our own, and I promise you Winter, they will see the world.

Softly she nuzzled Icer back but the motion was weakly done. "Thank you. That is a comfort. And I am so very sorry for placing this upon you. But you are the only one left that I trust.."

Gently the three females were plucked from their place and settled onto Icer's back. They remained fast asleep. "Come back in a week. Things should be done by then. If worst comes to worst you will find these two awake and ..older." She didn't say if worst came to worst she'd be dead. But only time would tell that factor.

Purring softly as she was nuzzled, and nodding quietly. I know I am Winter, and I promise you they will be well cared for.

She remained still as the trio of hatchlings were placed upon her back, then ice blue eyes turned back to the sickly pair, {s} have you named the twins yet sister?

She wanted to know, just incase.

Another nuzzle to her sister, and a smile as well.

"Spring and Autumn. Starting tomorrow you can come check on them in a week. Things should be, hopefully, done by then."

Head lowering near the two sick and dying wee ones Winter tried to sound optimistic. There was no doubt that a weary life left her heart and spirit faded. "Thank you, Icer. For everything."

Of course ,Winter, you are still my sister, no matter what. She smiled, and gave her twin a gentle nuzzle, then turned quietly, slipping toward the portal, being very careful not to wake the hatchlings she carried along.
