After a long ordeal, time which she had thankfully been able to spend with her mother there to guide her, Fiona Shimmerscale was coiled protectively around four healthy eggs and sleeping soundly from exhaustion. She still had her worries about them, the fact that they had no father, that she had no mate who could love them with her, or help her to raise them. She had her family, which she was thankful for, but she felt a big part of it was missing...

She awoke some time later, and quietly watched the eggs under her wing.

She had been wandering the lair, peeking in this room and that, seeing all the new little ones her mother had taken in.

Perhaps she was looking for her twin? Zyloh had seemed to have disappeared, but she poked her head into the room Fiona lay in, blinking.

She hadn't even known her sister was pregnant, mother, yes, but sister..

Seeing the eggs, she pulled her head back and slid back toward her own room, at least she knew why her sister had been so moody now.

::It was the first time that Matthew actually left his mother's side for more than a few seconds, as he was finally beginning to explore on his own a bit. What had lead him to Fiona's nesting room could have been any number or reasons or coincidences, but there he stood, staring straight at her. He was a child, and not only that, the memories of his past had been wiped away. He didn't know what he had done, nor that he was responsible for the Fiona's current state, but there he sat, staring at her.::

The fact that she had been laying there, with little to do but watch her eggs, and the fact that she seemed to very rarely get a visit, had led to her sleeping most of the time. She was asleep now, wings covering the eggs protectively and a somewhat peaceful, but troubled, look on her face.

She seemed to have noticed Matthew's presence though, probably from his staring at her, and her eyes opened to look back at him.

'Why are you staring at me?'

::Of course he couldn't answer her. He could not form words yet, and his mindspeech was just coming along, so he came a little bit closer with his head cocked to the side, continuing to stare at her and the nest.:: <Mama....You?>

Momma had been checking up on the little ones, when she found Matthew, sitting outside her room, staring in at Fiona. I'll take care of him for you Fiona, its about time we moved Matthew to the nursery anyways.

Scooping up her little son in her forelegs, she chuckled and crooned to him, turning as they moved down the corridor that led to the nursery.

Momma's got you Matthew, your safe. The little green got a tender nuzzle, then she swaddled him back into her blanket, the one that kept her scent.

Its time for your nap little one, still crooning and now rocking the little green in her forelegs. Soon after, she gently lowered him into one of the cribs, and settled nearby, just so he'd get used to his new surroundings.

::He reached through the bars of the crib towards his mother, whimpering. He was obviously not very pleased at not being able to sleep curled next to her. True, the blanket had her scent, but not the motherly feel that she herself had. He stood on his hind legs and pouted as he gripped the rail of the crib.::

Matthew.., just what am I going to do with you. Picking up her son and humming to him, but still not leaving the nursery.

Your going to have to learn soon, but I suppose, you can stay a little longer..
