Temeraire

*Sticking his head around the corner, he saw no one coming down the hall. The large black dragon gave a nod to himself and headed down the hallway and slipped into the library. Temeraire had been staying with the Shimmerscales for what seemed like eternity now, and yet, he was so very rarely seen. Despite his great size, Temeraire could be very sneaky, and when he chose, seemed to be invisible altogether. There were only three places that he could be found. One of those places was the library, where he was going now. He spent weeks at a time in the library, leaving only to hunt for himself.

The second place he could be found was sleeping in his chambers, often as not after one of the a fore mentioned wees in the library, and then he slept so soundly he could not be roused. The third place was high up on the cliffs, studying cloud formations or the general lay of the land. He was a full grown adult dragon, and very intelligent, perhaps too much so, for all he was concerned about was learning new things. He didn't socialize, not even with his own kind. One would think perhaps he was lonely, and yet he never sought out another's company, not even that of his hosts.

Smiling to himself, he headed to the darkest corner of the library, where he was often overlooked by anyone who passed by, and took yet another book off the shelf to begin reading. It was so early yet that no one was awake, and he guessed he would have at least a few hours before he needed to concern himself with hiding his presence from the other inhabitants of the lair.*
