Sliding out into the night, the dragon's nostrils flared, taking in the scents around the forest, Icewing had turned dark, but he was still her son, and nothing would change that, she just hoped to find him before something else would.

Flying most of the night, she followed his scent trail until exhaustion set in, she was forced to land for the night, the blue coiling up in a clearing near a few boulders, it wasn't much cover, but it would do for the time being.

The dragon was soon sound asleep, though one eye remained open and an ear twitched now and then.

::Insatable, inexhaustable, Icewing flew. He refused to fight his mother, but the darkness was in total control. A mere day before, and he had escaped his father's prison. He had injured his father in the process, though he had not meant to. But Icewing was no longer Icewing. He was darkness itself given life and a shape. He circled around and found where his mother slept. He was not hunting her, but watching her. He made sure to stay downwind so she would not smell him. His mother was smart, but with the darkness on his side, he was smarter, and stronger as well. But even in his present state, there was enough of Icewing left so that he would not allow any evil to befall his sleeping mother.::

She'd slept the entire night, and well into the morning, waking about midafternoon when the sun was high in the sky.

Ice blue eyes blinked as the dragon rose, arching her back and neck in a stretch, then stumbling toward a small nearly dried up creekbed, where she lapped at a trickle of water that snaked it's way from beyond the rock.

Nostrils quivered again as she looked about, wings rustling, this was unfamiliar territory, she had no idea how far from the lair she had gotten, but that was the least of her worries.

Wings snapped open as she felt the breeze, then pushing off the ground, she headed onwards, deeper into the forest, following her son's scent.

::he was not the hunted, but the hunter. yet he was not hunting his mother, he was watching over her. This was wyvern territory, and though the darkness flowed through him, he was ever protective of his mother.::

Gliding on the breeze, she easilly swooped over and under the branches in the forest, her gaze alert, she'd never been in this part and the last thing she'd need would be an ambush.

Ice blue eyes kept focus as she looked to the skies as well until she came to another clearing, where she landed, giving her wings a much needed rest.

::amoust the trees he slid, fluid and graceful, keeping a close eye upon his mother as she searched for him. Upon nearing the clearing, he let out a warning hiss that reverbarated throughout the woods, seeming to come from everywhere at once.:: Why doth thou seek me, foolish woman' ::The voice was not quite his own, nor were his actions.:: The wise would turn back now, afore wyverns make a meal of you.

An ear twitched as her attention snapped around upon hearing the hiss.

I came looking for my son, and as for the wyverns...I'm not worried, I've handled them before.

Blue eyes scanned the clearing, the skies and surrounding forest as she rested.
