Topic: Unexpected and dazed arrival.

Myrlene Spiritor

At the border of the Shimmerscale territory a small family appeared. They were all dazed, worn out, and appeared to have been travelling for a few days lost. The small group consisted of Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor, daughter of Ammy Spiritor, Moonshine, adopted son of the Shimmerscales, and Calcifer their two year old dragon/lupe son with them.

Perhaps another dragon was with them that they met during their confusing trek for a place that felt safe. Myrlene led her small family on a heading that her heart and soul told her was a haven. She never could remember why they had to run. Or what happened. Nothing would come to her mind. Empty voids sat there in her memories.

Ice blue eyes looked into the territories as they stopped at the borders to rest. They hoped someone would find them and allow them permission to come into the Shimmerscale lands.

Aurthur Shimmerscale

*Aurthur had just happened to be on guard duty when he saw the family appear, as though out of nowhere. He lifted his head and squinted to see better. His vision was amazing, but they were still quite a way off. Waving off another of the guards, Tiamatus, he got to his feet and spread his wings, leaping off of his perch and heading towards the family.

Once he got close enough, he was thrilled to see who it was, and alarmed at their bedraggled state. They needed food, but more importantly, he needed rest. Unsure if they noted his approach, for he had come in high above, he started to circle downwards, giving a call of warning as he touched down lightly and folded his wings neatly along his back.*

Moonshine! Long time no see, your mother will be thrilled to see you. You all look to be in a sorry state.....Have you had a difficult journey' What happened to you? Oh, but wait, there is time for that later. Come, hop on my back, you've obviously had a rough go of it, and there's no need for you to walk further when your so clearly exhausted. Let's get you all some food, a bed for the night, and then you can tell us what happened tomorrow after you are rested. *By 'us' he obviously meant himself and his beloved mate.*

Moonshine looked up when he heard the call and saw it was Aurthur. He was relieved it was father. Finally someone safe looking. He gathered Lene and Calcifer close to him while Aurthur landed. Hearing the words of is father made his tired heart beat a bit lighter.

"Thank you father. We will tell what we can after rest and thank you for the lift." Moonshine would then help Lene and Calcifer onto Aurthurs back before getting on himself.

The small family were to the point of exhaustion and would fall asleep on the back of Aurthur in no time.

*Once they were all on, he took flight again, turning his head back to look at the trio. They were all asleep, so he angled away from the waterfall entrance, and settled down to walk up to the path to the lair instead. Once inside, he installed each of them into a seperate room, all of them next to each other. Into a bed each went, and they were carefully tucked in, and the doors closed so they could slumber in peace.

Once that was done, he wandered down the twisting, turning corridors of their home to go in search of his mate and let her know of the new arrivals.*

Calcifer

Calcifer was the first to wake up from the sleeping group. Upon waking he noticed this wasn't home. This wasn't grams home either. He couldn't remember home truthfully either. Just walking a lot with momma across a lot of dessert and finding poppa.

Looking to his right he saw his mom and dad curled up close and resting. They looked so tired. He kissed both of their cheeks and slid out of bed softly and went to the door he saw. Opening it, he looked out into the halls of this unusual place though he had a feeling he'd been here once or twice before.

The little dragon/lupe in rumpled dark forest green mage robes slipped out of the room, closed the door gently and stumbled down the halls looking around in quiet awe.

Green eyes were kept upon the sky, and the constantly falling snow. She had been at her post when Aurthur had returned with the bedraggled family.

She remained at her post now, keeping watch even in the coming blizzard. The snow was starting to come down heavier when she had sent Tiamatus inside. The young male had been cold, she could tell.

Now it was her turn. Slipping along the ridge that overlooked their territory, what snow had already fallen coated the pathway, and the wind would make flying difficult. Instead, she pick her way up the winding pathway, until the roar of the falls was deafening.

Bracing herself for the bitter cold, the black dragon slipped through the spray, and soon was shaking the excess water from her scales.

A glance back to the wall of water she had come through, showed that even in that little time, the storm was getting worse outside.

The cavern though was safe and dry, and comfortable, even if there was a slight chill. The glowing crystals led her way down the long tunnel that lead to the main chamber. She had just been starting her way down one of the numberous tunnels, when she stumbled across the youngling.

"Ssshould you not be in bed?"

Calcifer

Cal blinked looking up at the wonderful looking black dragon. He was in awe. He's only been around poppa and maybe great grams Icer for dragon contact. He felt small.

"I was in bed, woke up. I couldn't sleep." he looked around the dimly lit tunnel. "And lost."

You could not sleep and are lost' A smile to the youngling. Not a scary thing, but a kind one. Well I assure you that you will be well cared for here.

Come, we ssshall take a walk. Though we ssshall not go outsside. I do fear the ssstorm iss getting worsse.

She would lead the way down the hallway, pausing now and again to let the child catch up. There was a lot to take in.

The crystals and rooms, and soon she had stopped at an entrance that was blocked with a boulder. Obviously a room hatchlings were not allowed in by themselves.

Pushing the boulder aside, the crystal lit chamber opened up to an indoor pond. Fish swam about and turtles and frogs floated and hopped among the lilypads.

A few flowers sprouted upon the banks where one could stretch out and listen to the mini waterfall as it fed the indoor paradise. She would settle upon a grassy spot and pat the ground beside her.

Thississ a sspecial place. An indoor garden that ssisster Icer and her mate Aurthur created for the young ones for when the weather iss like thiss.

Another room beyond bearsss soaking poolss. e keep thesse blocked off for the sssafety of the young oness. If ever you wissh, assk one of uss to bring you there.

The ressst of the roomss are free to explore. There iss a playroom, and a library. Thosse you may vissit any time.

Calcifer

Cal followed along with ease. He was used to keeping up with poppa and his long dragony strides or mom and her quick warrior run. The inside of the tunnels was beautiful and almost reminded him of some place familiar. Some place he felt safe at.

This place made him feel safe as well. Seeing the black dragon move the boulder and go inside the indoor paradise, he followed.

"Wow . . . " he plopped down by her. "I like this place. Feels familiar. Like something momma or poppa had."

Hearing about the playroom and library he was excited then remembered a name. "Is great grams Icer here?"

"Oh. Something bad is coming then?" Cal asked.

He watched a few fish in the pond then remembered something. Manners.

"Uhm . . . I'm Calcifer Wolf-Spiritor-Silverwood-Shimmerscale." he had to take a breath after saying all of that. It was a long name for a 2 year old to remember.

"Poppa came from the lair here, I think. Calls Icer momma. Who are you?" he asked the black dragon.

Myrlene Spiritor

Lene was the next to wake fro her exhausted sleep. Two things were noted. One, Cal was gone and two, Moonshine was dead asleep. By the looks of things, he'd be out for some time to come. She slipped out of the bed, kissed him and slipped to the door.

Opening it, she looked outside. She vaguely remembered being to Icer's lair a few times with mom and bringing Calcifer to meet Icer a time or two. The hallway was not familiar. Well she could navigate back with patience. For now she reached out with her mothers instinct and her magic and began following Calcifers trail.

In a few minutes she would find him and Storm in the wonderful inside garden they had. "Hello you two." she smiled and sat down by Cal.

Green eyes fell onto Lene as she joined them. Hello. She kept watch over the youngling just as she did over her sister's kin.

You were very weary when Aurthur found you. I do hope you have ssslept well?

Lene gathered Cal into her lap and hugged him close. Looking to Shadow she blinked a little, still tired.

"Don't know if we'll be rested for a long time. The last few days . . . I don't know how to describe them. I thought I had a home. A lair with Moonshine but it's gone. Where I thought it was, no where it felt like it should be was solid rock. No lair. No home, so sign we had been there.

There are other things I feel I am missing as well. Darkness clouds my mind. Gaps, holes and just areas I can't recall." She said to Shadow.

Brushing some of Cal's red hair back she looked into her sons eyes. "I wonder sometimes who I am."

Moonshine

Date: 2013-03-05 18:50 EST
Into that inner garden of peace lumbered Moonshine. He looked a bit better after some rest and even better seeing where his small family had gone off to.

He gave Lene a long nuzzle under her neck and cheek and a kiss as well. A brief nuzzle and pat on the head for his son Cal. Then he sat and gave a bow of head then a brief greeting nuzzle to Storm.

"Hello auntie Storm. Thank you for watching over my family while I slept. Do hope you've been well?"

He gave a glance out towards the halls and the sounds of the storm getting worse. He was very relieved that they had made it this far.

"I have been very well." She remained settled as she was nuzzled, though an ear was kept open just in case she was needed.

"You are very lucky to have arrived before sssuch a ssstorm...Even I could not rissk guard duty in thisss weather."

Moonshine

Date: 2013-03-11 17:29 EST
Moonshine nodded his agreement to Storm.

"We are very fortunate indeed that father found us so quick. We were all near to passing out on the border of the lair territories. The storm would have taken us for sure then." He said.

Settling on his belly and chest, Moonshine wasn't a grand looking dragon, nor a big one. Young, still growing, only in his young 20s and just 10 feet in length from snout to tail, but his gray and white scales told a tale or two of a few adventures he'd finally managed with a small golden dragon some time ago. A glance to a hell fire blasted scale that had refused to molt from a shoulder reminded him of something.

"Auntie Storm. I have been gone from this lair for too long, but I have not forgotten anyone. I've been quite endeverous on a quest or two with another dragon named Bresser. I he was polite enough to share the rewards with me and gave a portion as well for me to bring to the Shimmerscale lair as tribute for a member helping him out. I have it all in my saddle bags of holding in the rooms father put us into. Perhaps we could all meet when possible and discuss some things and reaquaint' I do miss mother much." Moonshine gave a draconic smile.
