Did wyverns ever wish' Did they ever dream' She had once long ago. Once after meeting with a young dragonelle. Once after giving her word to never harm the family.

She'd kept that word. Living deep in the forest, where she fed upon squirrels and other smaller creatures.

Unlike the other of her ilk that hunted dragon hatchlings and eggs. She kept far from others of her kind.

Wyvern were not known to be kind, even to others in their own nest sites. Territories were fought over, and she'd seen the casulties those wars brought out.

She only wanted to be safe. So one night, she wished. Wished upon the moons in the sky after witnessing another wyvern felled. Not by a dragon, but by it's own brother in a bloody territory battle.

She'd watched from afar as the grey had fallen, how the larger of the siblings stood posed above with that poioned stinger held at the fallen's throat. She remembered the shrill cry of the sibling as the stinger met flesh, and how the smaller had soon fallen deathly still.

She'd hidden then, not wanting to become part of the victor's harem. She'd hid, and wished.

That...was long ago.

Stirring in the hidden cavern that she'd made her home after the bloody battles, orange hued eyes greeted the morning sun that lit the interior. Squinting against the light...she'd work on getting to her feet. Usually a challenge...she righted herself and stared.

Stared at the two appendages that had never been there before. Forearms. Testing a taloned toe, making it wiggle, she soon peered back where the poisoned stinger once had been at the end of her tail. Where it was no more.

What had happened while she'd slept' Her mind reeling, when back to that time long ago. That time when she'd wished.

Wyvern no more. She was a dragon, but how? She'd wished to be safe, that was all.

Another thought popping into her head not long after. Wyverns and dragons did not get along. They distrusted each other, and she knew wyverns that would attack for no other reason.

She'd have to abandon her cavern. Have to find another place to stay. Orange eyes watchful of the skies, she'd slip from the cavern and into the underbrush. Hoping that would be enough to help hide her scent, and her passing.

There was one that she knew. One that could help. She would hurry to find that place. Pausing and crouching low as the sun warmed wyverns started stirring. Her breath holding as she inched her way through the undergrowth. Past the new king that still slumbered upon his shelf. Past his harem, and whatever guards. Some sunning themselves lazilly. She knew they had to bask in the glow to warm themselves before a hunt.

That...is what would save her.

She'd made it past the guards, past the King and the other. Wandering until she'd found a building. Carefully climbing the stairs, he'd met a man inside that gifted her with a mug of warm tea.

The drink itself lapped up, she'd coil against the mug for heat. The man had been right, she was a bit scrawny.

It would not be long until he left, and she'd meet a minotaur.

He'd taken care to refill her mug, and at the end of the evening, he'd carried her into the forest.

She watched as he carried her to a waterfall. There was a pathway that led up behind the roaring waters. Once he settled her near the opening of a cavern, orange hued eyes watched as he would turn and depart.

A small chirp sounded, before she would crawl into the opening of the cavern. She'd not descend a long ways. Curling up just out of reach of the water fall's frigid spray.

Out of reach of the night wind's bitter chill.
