Crystal

She had been attending to her duties to the Family when the call came. There was no end to the minor scrapes that younglings acquired in their explorations. No end to the births she would see to the beginning of a new life. No end to the death that haunted their family.

She was well versed in it all. Ever since she was a youngling herself, training with her mother in the arts. She had a strong ability, far stronger than her mother. It was rumored that she held power over death itself. She learned to respect death and allow it to continue on its course. She would do her part to save those she could and comfort those she could not.

The Nha'slal family was a wayward branch of the Family tree. They were the healers or the foot soldiers, but not so highly placed. It suited them fine to serve the Family faithfully through the centuries.

Silima had fallen in love with a young healer, Beniqna, early in her youth. They were to be wed in the Summer when the wars came. Her love lost his life though it was never said how. She blamed those that would harm the Family for his loss, redoubling her commitment over the years. Because of the status, suitors did not seek her. That suited her just fine. It allowed her the ability to move through the Courts unhindered and indeed unseen.

It was that commitment to Family that had her answering the Lord's call. She journeyed to Rhydin as expected and made her way to family holdings. She avoided the people for the most part, wanting to get in and settled. She needed to get her bearings and determine what would be available to her as a healer.

Cerise

And where the younger sister went, the elder was sure to follow. It was not that Cerise didn't trust her sister. It was that she was over protective.

Crystal had an air about her that was almost unworldly. Ever since she lost her betrothed, the younger sister seemed different. More reserved, more...

Cerise was at a lost to describe her sister other than one breath away from Death himself. She did her best to be there for Crystal. It was with this thought in mind, that she came to Rhydin at the behest of their lord.

Cerise was not pleased with this realm when she arrived. On a couple of occasions she witnessed women who were no better than trollops plying their wares in the Inn. Though many of the men she had seen were not much better. She could not recall even the Courts being so blatant or tawdry.

Then she found a little place that appealed to her and her loves of reading. The little shop was the perfect hide-away when she needed the respite from duty. Granted, it was her duty to also research forgotten lore and magics, she liked the change in environment. Warm Cider and a treat didn't hurt either.

Still she had came to be with her sister and to aid her lord. Maybe her little explorations will turn up something intriguing.
