Mister Babbles

Date: 2011-05-16 16:24 EST
Mister Babbles doesn't typically take center stage, but today things are different. Mister Howe has ordered him to hire a cadre of Assassins and Mercenaries for the destruction of all the Governor Candidates, but one. The Illustrious Matt Simon is, for some unknown reason, to be spared. (Mister Babbles isn't sure if that means he's lucky or cursed") While the Lady Fionna Helston al Amat, Corlanthis Wystansayr, and a gentleman known only as Dyarhk must be eradicated before this weekend's election.

Two other names, Alain DeMuer and an Edward Batten have also been tacked on to Mister Howe's list.

Alain DeMuer doesn't need much explanation. Mister Howe has been trying to kill him for years! Poor Edward Batten seems to have joined in DeMuer's fate. Mister Babbles doesn't dare ask why. But suspects it has something to do with calling his Master, Mister Howe, "fat man". (Or so it is rumored among the other servants like himself that are allowed to work at the Master's manse.)

Less than a week.

That's all the time Mister Babbles has been given to accomplish his duties. He isn't certain if what his Master wants can be done in less than a week, but he's damn sure he's going to try and as hard as he can!!! (He has no desire to end up on Mister Howe's hit list!)

His first need is a location. He has one already in mind and before the Westend Clocktower strikes 9 in the a.m. he's pounding a fist to the wooden door of the infamous "Dickie's Dirk and Dagger". It takes a bit of bartering to win over the favor of the somewhat disgruntled Dickie. (He hates being woken before noon). But after promising that the name of the bar will hold prominence in his flyers, Dickie reluctantly agrees.

Babbles next stop is the "Ink Shop" located in the Westend. Here, he pays a handsome sum to have them run up as many flyers as they can in less than an hour. While he waits for them to finish, he begins his hunt for urchins. With the flyers in hand and the urchins in tow, he offers the dirty mongrels two gold coin a piece to plaster up all the flyers everywhere they can.

Off they run.

Mister Babbles checks his pocket watch and hurries back to Dickie's. He will sit in the bar for the rest of the week and hire any degenerate willing to take on this momentous task. He doesn't hold much hope for the applicants. Every assassin Howe has sent after DeMuer has ended up dead. Or worse. But Babbles knows when to keep his mouth shut and Mister Howe's wallet open.

He takes a seat at the seedy bar, and waits" Yes, this is going to be one hell of a long week. Mister Babbles hopes that the staff at Dickie's won't mind the smell of him. Then he realizes? In Dickie's everyone stinks.
