Lucien Mal is MIA!

Belial had enjoyed the evening spent with Lucien, starting with an introduction to Mrs. Clancy and a tour of his lovely home. Followed by dinner, desert, dancing and shared conversation' It had been a wonderful night. Although Lucien had confessed to Bel that Alysia still held his heart, which had put a damper on the beginning of the evening" Later however the shared kiss offered a different kind of hope.

Both she and Lucien have their share of complications; his with Alysia, hers with Welv and Jodiah. Yet both felt the bond between them strengthening" Alas, all that has changed in a moment of violence and consuming flames"

Bel stares at the wreckage that had been Lucien's beautiful home. She's already seen poor Mrs. Clancy's body and the broken violin" Now, she's seeking for some sign that Lucien had somehow escaped the explosion' But there is so little left. She was able to collect small pieces of things; a leg of a chair, a tiny fragment of marble, little pieces of what?s left of Lucien's life" These things have already been delivered to Oberon Enterprises offices where mages and psychics alike will pour over them searching for any clues as to the events that transpired that night.

Belial doesn't need a mage or a psychic to tell her that DCH is some how behind this attack" But her evidence is based on knowledge that is not publicly shared. It was Luc and Tasha who had attacked DCH's properties and left the one white feather" Bel knows they had nothing to do with the ruin of Lucien's or the Courthouse. Nor does she believe that some random terrorist group has suddenly sprung to life in Rhy"Din. Lawful Citizens demanding Protection"! Right and she's a mortal with three heads! That leaves only DCH as the potential culprits. They had the most to gain by attacking Lucien and in destroying the Courthouse. But the Bloods need evidence to prove their involvement and much of that evidence has been eaten by fire.

Bel realizes that no matter how long she stands in the midst of the wreckage nothing is going to change" They have gone through all the debris with a fine toothed comb and unearthed nothing else of use" With a heavy sigh Bel left the burnt out husk of Lucien's once grand home, hurrying back to Onyx for the latest updates.

The Bloods have assigned heavy manpower to this operation, it is of utmost concern that they find out what?s happened to Lucien Mal and as quickly as possible. You see, even death can be overcome, but there is a very strict timeframe" If even a minute over and Lucien Mal will be something other than he once was" Something vile and evil, something as foreign from Lucky as it can get. The Bloods are running out of time, and every one of them knows it.

They have already checked local hospitals, the morgue and any other body farms they could find, searching through the unclaimed and unknown and still no sign of Lucien" All the reports littered her desk; papers, image orbs, everything those assigned to the search had done or found" and still" no sign of Lucien"

She is trying to delude herself that somehow he'd been blown far from the flames and is now wandering the streets of Rhy"Din with no memory of who he is" Yes, it is a slight possibility, but any hope is better than none. Bel can't believe Lucien is gone; he means too much to her. He's one of her truest, most trusted friends and" that last night together had opened a door to possibilities that she would have liked to have pursued"

Hence, Bel ordered the making of flyers which Lucien's face is prominently displayed offering a handsome reward to any who may have information to his current whereabouts. She plans to have them posted all over town, starting tonight' If Lucien is out there, she is determined to find him"

She will not let DCH get away with this! She had already been plotting her plan of revenge; it is one of the primary reasons why she broke things off with Jodiah"

Jodiah.

He's prideful and arrogant, unable to understand that the enemies she faces can smash the mortal that he is with a singular blow. It's not that she doesn't have faith in Jodiah as a warrior, because she knows otherwise" It's that Jodiah means too much to Bel to allow him to sacrifice himself for her. And there is no way she would do to him what she did to Silf. That cost way more than she'd ever dreamt of paying" Should Jodiah die standing by her side?" It's simply not a guilt with which she wishes to survive.

So, Bel plots while she distances herself from those nearest and dearest. She doesn't pretend that this is her fight alone, no; she realizes just how far reaching this game really is" Even if others aren't aware, Bel knows that DCH wants more than just the destruction of Lankyn. They want everything the Bloods have built for themselves. They have somehow figured out the extent of power the Bloods hold from "harvesting" the energy of the Nexus. DCH wants that power" but Bel knows they would use it in the name of their brand of evil. Above all things, DCH cannot be allowed to gain this technology, for the destruction they will bring about will rain down upon the past, present and future of all.

Bel would like to push this off on someone else, hand it over for Lankyn to take care of, but Lankyn is no where to be found. She can "hear" him out there somewhere, he's still linked to her, but every question sent remains unanswered. Who else? Sid" Bel knows that Sid can't do this" Sid is all of light and innocence, no matter how dark her thoughts can turn" Besides Sid is fighting her own demons right now. Demons Bel can't take out for her. If she could have, she would have"but Sid's destiny is her own. It's been left for Bel to take care of? and of course, Bel must tend to *business*. So"

In order to kill a monster the heads must be removed from the body for it to die. A fact that pertains to most creatures, however there are a handful of some that simply removing the head will only piss them off more. Bel likes the KISS theory when it comes to battle. She likes to keep things simple, open, fluid; it is the only way to keep one's enemies guessing. Bel's plan is pretty straightforward, if a bit on the foolish side; she plans to take out the heads of DCH; Dewey, Cheetham and Howe. Now how she thinks she's going to accomplish this" well, that's still in the planning stages, she's really no idea yet' This is what?s kept her in Rhy"Din thus far rather than dashing off impulsively, (as she's been known to do in the past")

Sitting at her desk, she pulls out the schematics of DCH's main offices, located on Earth, circa 2005, in the heart of the city of Los Angeles. An appropriate place for an inter-dimensional law firm to practice, plenty of souls to be collected in a place where dreams are broken as easily as glass and any hope is worthy of grasping even if it does cost one their soul" The building plans had been easy to get, the security information had taken a much more vicious twist; the information forcibly taken from one of the system's designers. It hadn't been pretty, but the information the mages pulled out of him have proven quite useful.

Bel's smile is cold as she works out her plan of attack. Her goal is only to take out the three, the rest will wither without their leaders to give them ambition or duties" Bel is also planning her arsenal of weapons with great care. She doesn't know what will work on the Demonic Forces that lead DCH, she's not even sure if they can be killed. She only knows that she's going to try.

Wylde steps into her office unexpectedly, and Bel is quick to shove the file under a heap of others, to keep Trev from figuring out what she's up to. His expression is grim as he takes the chair across her desk from her.

"We've gotten more news from the mages and precogs at Oberon, Bel. The packages were delivered after 6 pm, the day before. From all they have been able to gleam, I believe that the evidence suggests that Von Todd was behind the deliveries."

"Von Todd?" Bel asks confused. "And he is" ah' Whom, exactly?"

Wylde's frown speaks volumes, he knows something" and it isn't likely to be good news.

Wylde continues to scowl as he speaks; it gives the handsome features a dark and jagged edge, the face of a killer"

"Jasper Von Todd, Bel, he's a well known assassin in many circles, throughout many dimensions. I've seen some of his work in the past; he's ruthless, merciless and always has an agenda. He doesn't stop until he's accomplished the contract. I suspect that's why Howe has Von Todd as his assistant. Von Todd likely earned that right." Trev pauses, that one silver eye intense to her green gaze. "Since he hooked up with Howe, Von Todd's developed some tricks. Rumors have it that Howe granted him demonic energy. He's our hit, Bel. Eye for an Eye. If we want to hit them back as hard as they've hit us" We have to take out Von Todd. He's the best we've got."

Bel blinks at Trev and whispers "Von Todd, eh' Yes, I like that we make him dead, Trev" I think I should have the right, don't you? Considering Lucien was my friend?"

"Bel, this hit is going to Luse. No argument!" Wylde said firmly. "You know damn well why it can't be you. So, what are you trying to hide from me, Belial?" That intense silver eye moving to the file she'd tucked aside when he'd entered.

Belial shrugs nonchalantly keeping her gaze steady on Trev's face, giving nothing away, save that him denying her the right to kill the one who has likely killed Lucien has set her rage to boil.

"Just one of many reports that lead to nowhere, like all the others?"

Trev's gaze flicks from the file to her face, a moment of contemplative study then he shrugs. "As you wish, Belial. You aren't required to tell me everything." Not buying her act of cool casualness in the least.

"I talked to Skye last night and she said if I could give her something of Lucien's she would be able to find him. I thought a piece of the violin" Would you have them send back a small piece so that I may give it to Skye?" Belial's tone is calm, business oriented. Hell yes, she's changing the topic!

Wylde stares at Bel for a long moment then nods. "I will start the ball rolling right now, Bel." He rises from the chair, towering over her at his full height. Bel cranes her neck back just to maintain eye contact. "I know how important it is to find Lucien, we all do. I'll let you know if anything new comes in. You do the same." Not a question.

"Of course." Belial smiles as she nods, somewhat uncomfortably with her head at that angle. "I'll be posting the flyers tonight?"

"Assign others to do that, Bel. You shouldn't be wandering the streets alone day or night."

"Thanks, Trev. I needed to hear that." Sarcasm drip, drip, dripping as she glares up at him, certain that he'd stood up and over her like that to intimidate and she simply refuses to let that happen.

Wylde took his time walking towards the door, that one silver eye appraising Belial sternly but he said nothing more as he stepped out, shutting it behind him.

Bel stares at the closed door, but her thoughts" A checklist of weaponry most likely to do damage to demonic energy. She really should have a chat with Maddy and Bert, see if they might be able to tweak her some toys" A few big-badda-booms" Who knows, it will distract the many while she seeks out the few"

"Don't worry, Lucien, I will find you, and if" If that fails, I will see you revenged!"
