In spite of the sudden hustle and bustle around House DeMuer in the past week, many of their activities suddenly made all the more secret except for a palpable air of anxiety, about Mister Howe and the mysterious warning on the front of the Silver Mark brewpub....a House 'lackey' arrived only a few days behind S.P.I.'s projected schedule at the gates of Blood House Onyx with a swing in his step and a big cardboard box in his arms.

He was typical of what was often found in "the Half-Breed House," as he was part elf and part something else entirely, pretty short for anyone with elvish blood, with ears several enches long, the points curling a little downward at the ends; all along each ear were piercings of various shapes, sizes, and colors, a number more on his face, and tattoos on his neck (including a little circle set aside for the House seal) and hands.

The box contained sunglasses, prominent among them smaller-framed aviators, and a lengthy instruction manual for the operation and modification of 'S.P.I. Multi-Function Surveillance Sunglasses.' They could be shaded from mirrored to yellow for night-time wear and most had the ability to magnify images as well as illuminate what the user was seeing, and fundamentally the same recording capabilities as image orbs, as the lenses were made from a similar material with a similar structure — the image orb theory had been applied to their construction, in any case.

The best part was their endless capacity for modification; whether someone wanted x-ray, infrared, 'ley-sight' or any of a number of other options, they could easily enough (with the help of a surveillance expert, of which BHO had plenty) be modified for it.

The lackey handed the box off to the nearest guard or unfortunate and likely very confused passerby ("Compliments of Mr. DeMuer"), bid them all farewell with a drawled, "Ciao, dahlings," turned the other way and left.
