Topic: The Arrival - DCH

Lilah

With a predator's grace she entered the lobby of the offices of DCH. From where she had come none inside or out could have said but none could dispute the aura of her presence. The orbs that watch the outside of the offices, located in Rhy"Din's Marketplace, reveal nothing. It is as if she'd appeared out of thin air.

Lilah glides to the front desk, offering a professionally smooth smile to the receptionist as she extends her business card towards him. An expensive yet tasteful card it is too; embossed with her name, her professional title as well as her place of employment, DCH.

"Good morning, I'm Ms. Morgan, Mr. Howe's new assistant." A statement of fact granted as she eyes the young man much as one might their dinner plate. "Obviously, I'm new and don't yet know my way around. Could you show me to my office?"

Mortimer isn't at all sure what to do. He hadn't been told about any new assistant, and although he, as had the rest of the employees of DCH, had seen what had become of poor Mr. Burger, Mr. Howe hadn't seemed concerned about replacing him. Mr. Howe hadn't seemed concerned about what had happened to poor Mr. Burger either. Mortimer stares at the woman his confusion obvious.

"Ah' They do speak English here, yes?" asks Ms. Morgan sarcastically amused as her brow arches quizzically.

"Ahh, um, er?" Mortimer stammers wide eyed. "Of course, yes, indeed but what you fail to understand, Ms. Morgan, isn't it' We had no idea you were coming. I will have to call Mr. Howe."

Lilah chuckles vastly entertained as she waves a hand towards him, an impatient indication for him to get on with it. "Fine, it's your skin, not mine. Do as you must. But could you please hurry it along" I hate to have my time wasted."

"Certainly, Ms. Morgan." Mortimer thinks he preferred Mr. Burger over this acerbic bitch but he doesn't let his thoughts show, he keeps his most professional and pleasant of smiles intact. No reason to inflame her further. Mortimer picks up his phone and presses the button to Mr. Howe's office. He then waits for the boss to answer while doing his best to keep from making eye contact with Ms. Lilah Morgan. She means Trouble and he already hates her.
