Day one?

Kaze would peer in the fridge for a good ten minuets until handing a few pieces of Jerky to Jock. Sliding her fingers over a blue bottle she smirked. Pulling away from it, point one Kaze! Sober was how she?d start the day. Kaze looked down at Jock before moving with a ham and cheese wrap to the basement. Pressing her thumb to the lock as usual she slid inside, holding the door for the following dog.

There was a chime of a voice,? Moring, Ren Shimmerscale.? A new alteration on Kaze?s behalf, and she liked the name, liked the alias.

Smirking she took a bite out of the wrap as she moved to the computer. Rank on her shoulder as she looked down at her com badge she sighed. What did he have to go and give her that rank for? Still she liked the title, so it was okay? Guess she couldn?t keep Wolvie on her bad side that long. Leaning in her chair, yup she loved that chair, she flicked a few switches and the scanning began. Kaze?s blue orbs then did something odd. They scanned a set of envelopes.

Sliding them away slowly her head lowered. Wonderment yes, but still there was something more behind those letters and the meaning Kaze held for them, Ren held for them. Plucking one from the top of the pile she read it slowly with a smile. Tracing the words slowly, the only thing that seemed to keep her sane was in those words. Shifting again she looked back at the scanner as there was a beep. Arching a brow she leaned forwards, what once was there was gone. Folding the paper she tucked it back into its safe keeper before bending over the scanner as it continued its work.

Looking at her dog, who she felt was no dog at all, she shifted and leaned back with another bite taken from her wrap. There was a reverberation of words as they came through her head,? Get some sun.? Sun, ha! Ren lived for the night and its wonders. However something was wrong, the night held no joy for her recently, what was worse, her other parts, Sina and Kaze, wouldn?t tell her what was going on. There was anger at them for that mistake, they knew something to her questions, but they weren?t telling her. It was cold, it was cruel, and it was heart breaking, one thing Ren just couldn?t take any more of.

Stepping up from her spot she nodded to Jock,? Very well? he wants me to try his pool, why not.? There was a large nod from Kaze as she moved towards the replicator. Tracing her fingers over it slowly she smirked lightly. Typing in a few things she began to wonder what things she could do with a week all to herself. That evil thought was pushed away in an instant. Kaze even wondered if some how she?d see Kas come through this house. Though she doubted it. Something told her Kas had issues of her own to deal with.

Ren soon was walking through the halls, now very thankful that she was alone. There she was sliding to the pool. A click of a silver arm band and a voice came as a figure appeared in thin air,? Please state the nature of the medical emergency.? The gift from Janeway, produced her beloved friend. The doctor turned and looked at her with a smile,? Ren!?

For hours she would sit in that pool and talk to her friends. Soon he was her secret keeper, her shoulder for her tears, and even he had managed to make her laugh. However she did get some random chewing when he saw the scars on her body, one in her chest, the shape of a sun, and two more identical ones, one in her ribs, and one in her shoulder blade. Effects of a past, a life she didn?t belong to.

Eventually Kaze would admit the pool was a good idea. Spite the puniness in her hands and feet Ren had enjoyed her solitude. Soon she was back down in the basement with her doctor friend, and fake dog Jock. Peering at the scanner and tilting her head,? Well that?s odd.?

Day two: The dream.

Ren turned on her makeshift bed in the basement. The clock flickered ten am as she turned on her side. Sweat beaded on her forehead as flashes filled her head. Jock stuck his head up and nuzzled his beloved master. Licking her arm with a large slurp he rested his head on her hip and drifted back into slumber. There he?d stay by her side through this tormented day. Ren never would wake until the dream was at its peek until the last blow was made.

The slender figure of a red head moved towards the figure in the darkness. Tri point ears twitched as silver eyes looked down at him. A soft hand pressed against the figure as she slid in a sitting position on the bed. There was a movement, a hiss, then a scream,? Wolve! It?s me! Kaze!? Those silver eyes looked down at the glittering claws at her gut. They hadn?t entered, good, she was fast enough on her scream.

Wolvie shifted and looked up at Kaze curiously, it was obvious he was in very different times; less stress had come over the man. A grumble and another hiss, the blades had been retracted,? Kaze, what the hell? How did you get in my room?? But as he looked around an open window answered that.

Kaze shifted in her spot. Those hands couldn?t help but rub the spot on her stomach,? He wants me to kill you Wolve? He wants me to kill you.? That faye?s hands were shaking as she looked at Wolvie.

Then there was a shift, a change in scene, there was that red head again, but this time she was in a cage. Sam, a human male with blonde hair was scowling at a dark man. A plot that was planned to begin with, to start with a trap was set for the one named Sam. Silver hues watched before there was a scream from her lips, Kaze didn?t want to do this anymore, pain wasn?t in the deal. The horror in Sam?s voice rang loudly out to her. There was worry, grief, terror in which love was its only source. Then a robed figure entered. Never trusting of the girl with crimson hair as he watched her writhe in pain behind those bars, the trust and truth was obvious above all. Kaze was loyal, Kaze was his friend.

Life in Wolvie?s hand he did what he had to. Eventually the girl was rescued and the dark figure fled into the night. Tears streaming down her life less face Kaze shimmered and stumbled into crystal grace. Crystal in Wolvie?s hand he didn?t know what to do, it burned and scalded in his hands until a bowl of water was delivered by the expert on Kaze, Sam. Keeper of the crystal Wolvie would stay to see what was needed to see, the healing process, and then a shook up Kaze appeared before them. Huddled in a ball there she was, Kaze didn?t want to do it anymore, but a promise was made. Kaze had given her word to the one person that mattered to her.

Another shift, the dark man was falling back as a blade pushed through him. Brother stood over him, just as weak, just as destroyed. Kaze?s eyes shook in horror as she surged forwards. Screams could be heard as Mary crouched over the body. Guarding the dark figure as life returned, Wolvie was telling her to stand aside. Kaze?s hands were shaking there was more to be done, more she could do, she didn?t move. Then Wolvie broke the bond, never again would he answer to her, nor would he meet her in public, only see her in battle. Lost soul Kaze was seen a few days later, a soft kiss to the cheek of the dark one and the first case of death as the abyss filled her, took over her, split her in two.

Dark candles filled the next shift, two bodies were there, a set of dark eyes looked down at the limp figure beneath her, it would be so easy to take her life while she slept, but there was no fun in this hunt, no joy from this. There was a blank expression as suddenly she fell forwards and into slumber. Kaze was panting for breath as she appeared before a figure known as Sam. Eyes were shaking as he looked down at her with hate. It was all thanks to that fated night when her blade tore through Sam, caused his death, or near death.

Chaos rushing through her chest, heart was failing, she was coming to her death. Kaze was to be killed however, forced into death, but one thing saved her soul, her entity, her life. Gabriel Ashlocke gave her a gift, he saved her life. Green crystal in her chest stabilized her, kept her from death. There she lay until moving from her stead. The back alley would be where she?d meet her demise. As the dark figure leaned over her the last thing she heard was his goodbye. Then three stakes pierced through her, one lower rib, one through the heart, and one through the shoulder. Thus was her fate.

Ren gasped as she came to life, another plus to the basement, her cries from this dream, were never heard. Cold sweat beaded on her forehead as she looked down at her sleeping dog, only he seemed to stick with her through the end, only he seemed to keep her as first. Smiling softly she went to the clock, four pm, what she gets for staying out all night. Again nothing came, no letter, no note, it was another empty night.

Her figure moved over to the scanner and peered at it for a moment, still a few oddities, but nothing really to report. Day two went off without a hitch and as sun was setting, out into the night she?d go, leaving house under lock and key. Now tormented by the dream, tormented by the life she had left behind at death. Such was the fate of Kaze and the start of Ren. Two in one stuck in a new body, and an old past in her life. One past that still haunted her, still tormented her as she took a step out into the fall of the sun.

Day two continued: The Past is so much more then the past?.

Memories of the death that would haunt her forever.

Ren tossed and turned in her sleep yet again. Dreams were her torment during the day. As she lay next to Jock in the basement she furrowed her brow and a sapphire tear ran down her cheek. Crunching into a ball there she slept letting the torment of the dream take her over yet again.

Her long red hair tangled in the emerald grass as she looked up at the summer blue sky with soft silver eyes. Tri-pointed ears twitched softly as birds chirped and water rushed in a near by stream. Constantly the wind would pick up over her and bring small strands of hair to nestle over her pale face and the claw like scar that spread from chin to forehead right over her left eye. A button nose pulled and pushed air to her lungs creating a rise and fall of her chest. Licking her pouting lips she gazed to and fro before returning to her endless gaze up above. The curve of a flat stomach that tucked under a black top and black skin tight pant covered flesh that glittered a soft tan in the sun light. Light, traceless shoes rested over her small size eight feet.

Today she took her thoughts to a clearing separated by trees and a river flow, isolation was heaven to her, the highest bringer of peace. Always finding it easy to slip away, feet gliding over an unseen path, to come here and rest her head in the grass. The ease of sorting her mind, her thoughts, and this place was where she kept sane. Her peace of mind was important to her people, to her family, to the council, and to herself. As she gazed to the fire hue of the fall kissed trees she realized, she could find it here and here alone.

She seemed to always reflect on her past as if trying to lean from it. Watching the clouds pass over her she was reminded of that night. That fate filled night where her childhood ended and she was pushed forwards into being the heir of all Aloria.

The queen, her mother had been on alert as time grew closer and closer to dusk, as the sun set she sent her children away with ease. Daughter Esta was to go with her guard, Draga Klay, and if there was immediate up rising as her mother had expected, she was to be removed at once.

Midnight had come too quickly and Esta was scooped away in a rush a small filled bag to be her keep sake and the start of one name, Carrier of the Lost. Inside was a well guarded treasure, the castle?s occupant?s carrier crystals. Souls would then be seen, glowing gold, blue, green, red, all colors of the rainbow towards that bag. The speed in which they moved through the castle was great but the attacking force was faster. Soon the protectors and her mother was on their back and to all horror they saw who it was leading the attack.

Red hair, tri point ears, no older then Esta was a girl leading troops, Esta?s sister Rhyanna lead the assault. Betrayed by her own blood Esta?s mother sought to defend all she had left, her people, her daughter, her husband, and her friends. Together like a wave of sparks the mother and daughter?s blades met. With a turn of her body and one large back thrust, there was silence, then screams. A silver soul moved forwards and disappeared into the small bag. Esta?s mother was dead.

The rush and pounding of feet the next few moments a blur through pained tears. Screams of dread and pain, a child reaching out for her father as he stayed by his child?s side, they would never go unanswered or unforgotten. The daughter whom all had loved, betrayer, killer, hated, and no longer of his flesh left behind as pain and grief for all around him grew. More clashes of swords, metal against metal. A secret passage, then the forest in which they would steal away the one last hope, the child who sobbed greatly for her mother?s voice to ring out and tell her it was just a game.

A gasp and there she was back at the clearing, a woman, aged, complete, and never able to see past her mother?s death. Esta turned her mind to a child, so many features of her own in that child. Her daughter, her heir, her pride Zoe. Born to her during a full moon she was blessed to carry on all that was Esta?s and her father?s Esta?s beloved Dominic. Together through them, her beloved husband and child, she had at last found peace from her tormented past. They were her strength and back bone. Her light when things were hard, still she would never wish to see them suffer, harmed, or pained. More tormented thoughts would linger, fight for the cause, or not?

Duties and rules, things that were not her own, never her own, until her mother died. Responsibilities that this girl, this woman, heir to Aloria would have never wished for nor would have wished to her sister, who seemed bent of having it. Still she wished she had never seen her mother?s death that night, never known the traitorous ways of her sister, because then she would have never had this haunting nag. Rhyanna, one who even now she loved so much, would have to die by her own hands. She would give her family the life they deserved, not one of hiding, or of war, but happiness and peace inside a home meant for them by birth right, even if it meant taking on the responsibilities she loathed. Her family would no longer hide from the people who sought to take her feature away.

"Zoe!!"Ren shot up in a wild blaze of blonde hair. Panting as she laid there, beads of sweat dripped from her forehead. Tears streamed down her face as the sun of a new day was setting, she had slept through the third day. Looking over at the scans there was nothing new, same news, and different day. Ren did as she always did, with a grab of her white fur coat she was out the door and into the night.

Day Four: Ren with a guest?

It was odd to see Ren up around nine am, but then again Ren had company in the form of a hatchling. The little blue had been waked by the shrill cry of Ren screaming out for Zoe again. Peering up to Ren the blue hues of the dragonling locked on the sweat ridden, tear stained face of Ren. As Ren sobbed the hatchling did her best to nuzzle and comfort her dear friend. No questions needed to be asked, the hatchling knew when Ren was ready, Ren would explain, it was the bond they shared as family, as kin.

? I was in a war meeting when the alarm was sounded in our village. It was too late. We came running out into the square searching for a battle, a force to fight, but what we saw was more horrifying then any blade. Our family, our men, our children, they were all bound in chains, all of them had blades against their necks.? Ren swallowed as she beat down the urge to sob again. Voice shaking as she continued,? There was my husband and my daughter looking right at me as they played prey to none other then my sister, Rhyanna. Rhyanna wouldn?t let them go, wouldn?t see them freed, my sister only wanted anything that loved me dead.?

The hatchling chirped at Ren with sad eyes. It scurried into her lap and sat there as she held out a bottle and lowered it for the hatchling to suckle. Jock lifted his head to look at the dragonling and then to Ren with his beady black eyes. Shifting slightly Ren scratched his head as she continued,? I begged my sister over and over to let them live, to let me take their place. No matter how hard I tried it was no use, nothing would sway her mind. I still remember her words to me? as if the event was yesterday,? Ren paused taking in both hatchling and dog before speaking again in a bitter voice,? You should have never found a mate or had offspring Kaze, for you knew what their eventual fate would have been.?

Closing her eyes she looked away for a moment, the sound of a lurch came from deep within her throat. Images played over and over in her head, images she?d repeat to only the dog and hatchling. Somehow she knew she had told Wolvie, be it in a drunken stupor, or because of the love she had for him. Deep down she?d tell him everything, but still she felt unclean to even remember these things. Ren?s life as Kaze died many months earlier, back in that back alley, back when three jagged objects pierced through her flesh. Thinking of that night only made her rub her chest.

The pictures seemed easier in her mind to see then to word for the hatchling and Jock. It was painful to see over and over the silver edge of a blade cutting into a twelve year olds soft throat. Crimson blood would fall from the cut, over the blade, and down over the hand of its user. Pain in young eyes would lock with Kaze?s silver hues as she fought against the captive binds. Screams of pain would fall from Kaze?s lips as she watched her own child topple into a pool of death. Her husband, her mate, fell beside her to hold the child through last breath?s draw. A crystalline coffin wrapped around the silver soul of little Zoe as it took the twelve year old In it?s embrace. Cries and tears would storm from Kaze onto semi deaf ears.

Prisoners released, even Kaze?s mate was saved from death. The crimson haired twin of Kaze would come and press a blood stained hand to her cheek. Rage, hate, pain, and ache for what her sister had just done filled the heart of Kaze, hollowed it, and destroyed it. Horrified screams would fill her ears as people reached for her, cried out her name. Step after step she was dragged away, watching her mate wrap a crystal grave around his neck. Tears in both their eyes she made a promise that would soon become the curse of Kaze, to love but never loved in return, to be loved and never love in return. As captors pulled her away from the life that was no longer hers a new Kaze was born, one with a soul ripping fate. The song of her sister?s glee filled Ren?s memory, the pride that glowed off that pig as the unmistakable smell of blood filled her nostrils.

Ren told all to the hatchling that day. Then she?d move over towards the issue at hand, those scans. Lifting them to read she stayed in silent debate. Something was out there, something she didn?t know if she should report. Time passed and the debate settled on, no, there was still nothing important to report just yet. Soft blue hues would then go to the letters, no new ones in its stack. Something troubled her about its emptiness, about the lack. Pushing all thoughts away Ren eyes moved over the consoles, one by one checked to see if they were okay. That?s how the start of the day was made, simple repairs were made.

Gazing up from a set of reports she looked in time to see blue hatchling storming towards her, Jock close behind. Furious was the mutt as he barked at the hatchling now perched on Ren?s head. Looking from hatchling to dog Ren blinked and stifled a laugh. The poor dog, his tail was frozen in solid ice. Glancing back up at the hatchling she could see the pride glowing on its little face. Now Ren would laugh and shake her head as hand lifted to take the young in her hand. There came a wiggle then a rather loud chirp as the hatchling moved to get away from Ren, but it didn?t work, the hatchling was stuck with in its captor?s grip.

?Icer? you two need to stop this feud of yours before it gets Jock chomped on.? But those words didn?t help the situation. In fact the Icerling nodded and stuck out her tongue to the dog, though somehow it was swiftly returned from the dog. Ren was abashed at first by this new development between dog and dragon, since when did dogs stick out their tongues? For a moment she pondered before going back to the issue at hand.

Turning that frown into a smirk, evilness lurking in the back glow of her eyes, Ren spoke tenderly to her sister,? I think we should watch some of Earth?s historical records? You?ll looovvveee them.? Then Ren would wink and carry a fighting Icer as she chirped madly.

Most of the rest of the day was filled with that event. Ren watched historical logs and documentaries as she changed dragon ling diapers and Jock thawed his tail in the heated pool. Ren would shoot an occasional glance out the window, ever watchful of the sun. Ren even told Icer why she lived for the night and what joys were found there. That bodacious blonde would spend the day telling her guest telling her stories of the night and even of her past. All and all it was good for Ren to have someone to talk to again. Through it all however she missed her other two best friends. The company was welcome, the day was long, all and all Ren had had the best day of her life in many a week. Still Ren?s mind moved to the movements of the sun.

As the sunset came Ren scooped Icer into a tiny hat, booties, scarf, ear muffs, and matching binki (granted the binki only ended up being used as a projectile for Ren?s head two seconds later). Moving through the door and out into the night, house secured as always. Ren had good feelings about this night, about the hopes that it could bring, and the hopes that she?d always have. Ren wanted this night to bring her the joy of a new letter. Of news in particular. Ren wanted to see the thing she ached to know was alright the most. Ren needed to know that one thing in her life was still okay.

Would Ren get what she hoped to see?

Icerling was dropped off at the inn before her path weaved through the city step after step. Biting her lip as she looked towards her destination she rested her hands at her side. Snow drifted over her feet, around her ankles as the snow began to glitter in the street light. Step after step, breath after breath, she was so much closer and yet she was still so far away. Seen close, seen far, the throbbing in her heart was getting worse as she rounded the corner along the walls. Tracing the vines with her fingers she stopped for but a moment outside those gates.

Looking up at the manor through those gates she took another deep breath and caressed the bars with her hand. Nerves were not helping her here at all. Closing her eyes she inhaled a large amount of cold air as she looked up once more. It wasn?t promising, but all Ren could do was hope. The light she left on was still burning brightly from its window. Pausing still she feared the disappointment, but knew she?d keep coming, keep returning to these gates. As she unlocked them with her key she slowly pushed the gate open and stepped through.

Ren?s eyes closed as she looked down at her still feet. Again she bit her lip, what was it about these steps that made her so nervous? Soft and gentile was her voice as it came out into the night,? Through the darkness I must travel, over bridges, cobble stone, and jagged gravel. To again be reunited with the hope within, or come crashing down to the fate I?m in.?

Ren took a deep breath from her spot at those gates. The pale hands that were her own shook as she lifted her chin. Disappointment had been her fate for three long weeks. It was ripping her apart. Ren had lost Wolvie to fate?s sick mind, but there was one other she feared she?d always be second with. As feet moved forwards Ren began to utter a prayer of her own making. One she had managed to find herself repeating each day these long three weeks. With eyes closed she moved down that overly memorized path.

? Please guide my feet on this rising night, encourage my heart not to let my wings take flight. To push through the door where so many letters have come to rest, and please let me see with mine own eyes words I had not left.?

Turning the knob she took one fated step in through the door. The darkness of the room took over her eyes and a few blinks were what it would take for her to review the room. Empty all of it was empty. The letter her own hand wrote was there. Roses left so long ago had faded and wilted. Ren would light the fire pit and let it crackle with a warm glow. Blue eyes bit back tears as she waited and hoped for the door to open, for a figure to enter, but he did not come. As the fire died she sighed and looked around. Tomorrow she?d come, tomorrow she?d wait, and tomorrow the wonder rose on if she?d meet the same painful fate.

Turning towards town was what she did, moving closer to the inn. Public wasn?t in her tastes so she moved to the great hall and towards it?s bar. Rummaging through it she was surprised to see Light there with a sketch book in tow. Showing her a picture of the Glen she nodded and smiled the best she could to his talents. When he told her about his feelings for her she turned away only to have Jadey rush in. Sister looked over at Sister and both nodded a warm welcome. Jadey pulled her away before her and Light could talk for a sledding experience to brighten her day.

However, the joy of such child?s play was killed as a demon came calling for Icer?s head. Rage at such a request for her sister was met with Ren exposing her wings. Defending her sister as many others did as well the fought the best they could till the demon fled. Wounded in the back Icer soon began to show signs of illness from invading Dragon?s Bane. Ren baffled by her sister?s question for chocolate was first in a long list of oddities. With the help of a friend of Hina?s, Skid, they were able to right the wrong that was made. Ren broken down at waking, lifted up by time spent with a wonderful guest, broken again by the fate of her curse, lifted yet again with the joy of child?s play, and then broken again with her sister?s illness, fell into a uneasy sleep and poof she was back at the Estate, tossing and turning in her bed.

Through the night only one thing seemed to keep the nightmares at bay. How it came to call in her head she would never know. Perhaps it was hope of a better tomorrow, or perhaps it was finally the last great slip into madness for Ren. The song would echo in her head, the voice of a demon singing it to her in fire light.

Earth angel, earth angel
Will you be mine?
My darling dear, love you all the time
I'm just a fool, a fool in love with you

Earth angel, earth angel
The one I adore
Love you forever, and ever more
I'm just a fool, a fool in love with you

I fell for you and I knew
The vision of your love, loveliness
I hope and I pray that someday
I'll be the vision of your happy, happiness

Oh earth, earth angel, earth angel
Please be mine
My darling dear, love you all the time
I'm just a fool, fool, a fool in love with you

I fell for you and I knew
The vision of your loveliness
I hope and I pray
I'll be the vision of your happiness

Earth angel, earth angel
Please be mine
My darling dear love you all the time
I'm just a fool, fool, a fool in love with you

Ren wouldn?t give up hope on the life in the darkness, she knew someday, her letters would be replaced by a rose and words not her own. It was something she needed, something she wanted, and something that seemed to cause her just as much pain as being second. Granted Ren would never stop loving Wolvie, that was a truth that would never die, but she could see his happiness with Aly, so now it was time that Ren moved on as a friend. For Ren would always be Wolvie?s friend, but she needed to find her own joy, knowing she was loved, and only one other person had made her feel that way, but he was missing.

Day five: Part One: Broken hearts, Dogs, Souls, and Merriments.

Ren was turning over a note in the great hall when he came in. Light saw her at once, which was not going to end nicely with his fate. As he approached with a greeting letter was stowed away. Ren did her best to greet and smile back, but when feelings for her came from his lips that kind smile fell from her face. Standing slowly she told him with an apologetic voice the truth told in every word. Her head shaking as she told him, she could not, would not, return his feelings.

Tormented by the sight of such a broken friend, she still made no move to comfort him. The blonde?s mind moved to places unknown for a moment. To a fire place, table, and neglected letters, would he ever be back trailed over her mind then was shook away as a snowball hit her face. Light and his way of showing her all was fine, that with time he?d get over it, after all one month of knowing Ren could never make anyone love her. It took time, even for her and prince it was the same. Time had built their bond, granted it was a very rough beginning.

Seeing all to well that he was screaming, feeling stupid, and hurt because of Ren?s rejection she lifted up with the lets be friends that men hate oh so much. Stupid or not it was the fate that a certain promise/ curse were in charge of. Love not loved, loved not loving. Only two men had ever gotten around that curse, one in love with someone else, and one? missing. Ren was okay with it though, Wolvie was her best friend and Prince, and well she didn?t know where he was.

Still as he walked away she could have sworn she saw that angered look in his eyes? the one that showed pain in his own rejection or just the fact that maybe he was calling himself an idiot. Who knew? Ren sat there for a moment before with a poof of feathers she was gone.

Only time would tell if Ren had hurt Light beyond repair, but Ren meant what she said. Ren just couldn?t return his feelings, which were that. He said he understood said he spoke up too late. In truth he was too late, but it was also because of fate that he?d always be late with Ren. Feelings would never really be returned for in truth she only ever had seen him as a friend.

The dream came in? like a wave to Ren, waking and eye opening as the horrific reminder rushed to her. There was a figure shrouded in candle light as it circled around her and a cased mold. Fingers folded into one another the figure prayed with all her might. Dark black eyes flickered as black hair sparkled fire red in the candle light. Light chants escaped her lips as she rocked back and forth. Chants fell from her lips now as she thrummed lightly.

There in the middle of the mold was a crystal crimson and dormant. Slowly a crack formed over it. Eyes flickered silver and black again. Fear then hate, as the flashes came over and over again. Then with a crash of high pitched screams the crystal shattered into an irreplaceable mass of shards. The figure lurched forwards, gripping her chest. Tears of blood formed in her eyes as her arms spread and back arched forwards. Louder her scream seemed to pierce the darkness as a silver vapor rushed from her chest. Churning black in the air? the abyss and its captive soul.

A soft white small vapor was next, but its path would wonder to where ever the path of Sina went. One figure was slouched and watching as the darkness seeped into the mold. It would have been so easy to kill it right then and there; it would have been so easy to destroy what ever was forming inside. A cold chuckle issued from inside it, what ever it was, it was evil? it wasn?t right. Kaze had to destroy it, but she couldn?t. Weak, feeble, and pathetic the hooded figure fell forwards.

Everything became black, everything dark. Next thing happened she was before Sam as tears rushed down her cheeks. His anger wasn?t cared for, wasn?t tolerated. Kaze was dying, Kaze was in pain. Chest burning from the triple split, something she hadn?t planned nor asked for. In fact she hadn?t asked for any of it that was Wrath who chose it.

Then there was the steaks again pushing through her figure as if it was butter. The soul ripped from her corpse as it found its way through nexus, and back to earth. Bound to a small green crystal and kept from the afterlife, Ren wasn?t ready to go. She wasn?t ready to leave Wolvie behind. Life was what she wanted and the crystal seemed to know it. Ren soon found a new way of life? as Akuma the teddy.

Lurching forwards Ren?s hair fell over her face. Clutching her chest, she was glad no one was there to see the display. Gasping for breath and breaking out in a cold sweat her blue eyes glanced around. More and more she was afraid of what these dreams meant, but saw them as a step, more to the phases she must take. Ren was seeing this as it, last step in the truths ahead. More to waking, more to seeing the final product, more to returning to the Ren that was wanted and needed for her own reasons. Thus was the despair of Ren, things she wanted so far out of reach, things she needed she couldn?t have, but this was seen as step one to defeating the curse.

There was a squeak as she gripped the roof top,? Bad place to day dream!? Regaining her composure she traced the last touch of a flow of lights. With a slide off the roof top and a turn of her body she hovered down to the ground with a fluff of her wings. Once on the ground she licked her lips. Wings vanished with a twitch. Tilting her head to the side she took a step back and looked up.

The estate glowed with several different colors, blues, greens, reds, and yellows. Christmas was on its way and she had begun to wonder why Wolvie hadn?t dressed up this place. Santa on the roof top with his reindeer glowed overly bright. Granted as she looked over at the other side of the roof top her eyes twitched. Kaze, her sister and original, had insisted that Mas Mas be added to the flair, so there was a dancing cow on the roof top.

Groaning she looked at the deer in the lawn glowing gold as candy canes lined the path way from the gates. Green reefs were settled on the gateways as other sets of garlands wrapped around every bar and the stone walls. Nothing was left undecorated for that was her way. Ren seemed to have even put decorations on the inside, but that would be a different look.

Gold and crimson lined the windows and as she walked inside the green garland spiraled on the rails of the stairs. Lights were around every door way and glowing golden or red. A massive Christmas tree was in every room. Stars on top of each, there were enough angels in this place. Besides Ren was festive none the less, one of those things never really shown when she lacked the confidence. Over the entrance of the door was ?Welcome Home!? though Ren wasn?t sure she?d be there to welcome them. Still she?d be in the basement for quite some time.

The last scan? troubled her greatly. More then enough to send word to Wolvie she didn?t know. Word was given however that she wanted to see the Xavier even if it was for an hour. Hope above hope that she?d get to see old friends seemed to grow in her. Twisting in her spot she turned to look down at the scan as she arrived in the basement. There was an arch of her brow, Wolvie was coming home today. She should be here to give him this message, to inform him of what she was seeing. Was this good? Was this bad? Ren didn?t know.

Still she went ahead and sent word through. There was semi urgent news, but nothing too pressing. The scans had her worried, but they seemed to have kept their position of worry a great distance away. Tapping her thumb on the console she looked around. The basement, home sweet home, still there was that one thing she had forgotten. Slowly she stood and made her way to the lift. Out she went and looked up at those stairs. Step after step she moved over and down to an end of the estate she hadn?t traveled since her first day at the estate.

Opening the door labeled ?Ren?s Room? there was a steady step in. A breath was made as she looked around. Not since her time behind the force field, not since being called a murderer, and not since she had met Jock had she been in this room. Ren looked around for a moment, simple, light, and her to a tee, it was empty. Loneliness took her over and she moved over to the window. Pressing her head to the cool glass she shook her head. A tear in her eyes, yes, why was she always so pathetic?

Ren lowered her head to look at her hand. Earth angel in her head, but the voice that sang it was missing. That angel was tormented, stay or move on, fight or give up, or hope and be heart broken. There was no going against how she felt, the first man of her life was her best friend, and the second man in her life was missing. Then there was that hope for a happy ending. Ha! Ren knew somehow there was no prospect of a happy ending. Coming to terms with that was another step.

Truth be told Ren needed to stop seeing life as a fairy tale, as a dream that might come true. Pathetic. One word said it all, said how Ren was Ren, the hole, the void growing constantly. There was a hollow set of eyes peering out the window as the bottle lifted and golden ale drifted down her throat. Ren was a mess and she knew it. Ren saw no point in making herself look better in anyone?s eyes, for now she was on phases near the end. The last bounding hurdle coming closer and closer as Ren returned to Ren.

Timid, cowardly, stupid, pathetic, and weak! All of her, Ren as a person. How could she look at herself and not see that, not even willing to fight for anything anymore, for in her eyes all was lost. Again Ren was stuck, trapped on the side lines. Still that was just fine with Ren, thought of even taking on Aly?s offer seemed to grow in her, but what would happen when Ren spilt her guts. How would she be seen then? No confidence at all, yup that was Ren.

Snow was falling, dropping to the ground like the cries inside of her. Self loathing grew and grew with no sight in end. Was that why Ren was always so eager to help? Then there were those words to that girl Ada? Was Ren really so eager to die? It was a horrified thought. No, Ren didn?t want to die, she was joking when she said those words. Damn it why was there so much thought in her these days. Was it was because her eyes were opened? Was it because Ren had nothing left but thought? Was it because Ren had no one to share them with? Dumb questions asked, Ren knew the answers? yes, yes, and yes.

There was that bottle in her hands. Rum to be exact and it was part of the process of self loathing. Looking down at it she looked towards the contents, half full, and then at herself in the window. Sad enough she was starting to look like Fred. It was odd she hadn?t seen him in about a week, odd enough he always seemed to cause questions in her. Suzie, ha, that was great. Some how that in itself was a turn off. Moving towards the bathroom she made a point to move to the sink.

Turning the bottle upside down she watched as amber contents turned down the drain. Perhaps Hina was right in cutting her off, but then again news of Hina was even more entertaining then rum. That news seemed to make her tickled pink. The fact that Hina was so clueless made her laugh more. Each morning that she visited she was sicker then a dog. Poor Jester he was going to be in for the trip of a lifetime. There was going to be a little monster in Rhy?din!

Ren was yet again going to be a granny. That alone was great. Hina however had to be eased into the whole issue, nicely, after all when Ren told her she argued the point. Then she took the test, another advantage to technology in the Estate, Ren backed up the finding with her own scan. When that little tidbit was discovered Hina of course went green. Ren slinked off and there was Skid oh the prospects of telling him. They seemed so juicy. Still Ren kept her mouth shut that was Hina?s place to tell, she was busy with making a business prospect.

The manor was next on the decoration list. Turned into a holiday Christmas card like the Estate was. Smack dab in the middle of the city almost it glowed brightly. Granted there was more detail here then at the estate, but that was because this was home away from home for Ren. In fact half of what she owns stays here, the other half at the estate. It wasn?t that Ren didn?t love the Estate it was home to her as well, but she had a feeling sooner or later she would have to leave the Estate for the manor. Just a gut feeling really, that and she didn?t think there would be much arguing.

There was a long drawn sigh as she looked out the window of the manor. The fire billowing, the chair they sat in empty. Ren flicked her wrist as she thought. To wait here all day or not? Ren was sick of waiting, it didn?t help her one bit. If he didn?t show up in the next week she was going to start looking. That blonde had to find him, there had to be an answer on why he slipped off into the night. There just had to. Ren wanted to find out as well.

It was settled, Ren would give him one week then come looking. That was the plan, Christmas coming she could handle that, and then if nothing came up she?d be off. Ren just had to know he was alright. Had to it was driving her insane. That wasn?t entirely a good thing either. The last time Ren?s mentality was at stake Price was there to counter that. Wolvie had gone missing, then again Aly was around then so she understood. The only cure for her mentality had just been poured down the sink at the Estate.

Oh well she still had the inn. A few drinks there and she might just forget her troubles. Ahh, but Icer and her mate made Ren?s day. They granted her wish with ease. As snow white wings spread out her black her body transformed to the black dragon she was now prowling the streets as. Less known form it was, easier to travel during the day. Clicking her claws she looked at the Estate from the gates. So much to do and so little time. There was too little time for all the day required. As she slipped inside she grumbled lightly with a flick of her tail. Dragon Ren, had a nice ring. Ren loved magic.

There was a tare of paper as she sat there looking at the scans,?What the hell?? Something was going wrong in the southern desert?

Day five: Part two

Cue Theme Music: Lord of the Rings theme song? yeah?

Then there was a curse as she turned in her seat at the console. Fumbling through papers she reviewed the last five days of scans. Shaking her head rapidly she reviewed after reviewed. Cursing she turned towards the one thing she didn?t care to do? The transponder. It was time to get a hold of Wolvie. Yet she didn?t know if the beacon had been repaired. Granted there was enough time, but time didn?t seem to be in large supply.

?Lieutenant Kaze Majin to Twisted Melody. I?m requesting to speak to Captain Kain! This is a priority call that must be resent to Admiral Wolvinator. I repeat this is Lieutenant Kaze Majin requesting to speak with Captian Kain. Urgent resend requested to Admiral Wolvinator.? It was the only way Kaze saw fit. But when radio silence came she drummed her fingers on the console. Clicking her tongue she sighed and leaned forwards,? Security code Alpha Juno Six Six Twenty-nine Beta Majin B Aloria.?

Still more silence, Ren was furious. Was the Twisted Melody even out there? Ren turned in her seat as she drummed her fingers harder on the table. Agrivation was getting the better of her,? Damnit! Respond!?

The view screen came to life and Ren almost did a double take. Clutching her chest she glared at the person in the screen. Ren was looking at herself with acid green eyes. Something she hadn?t expected, under different circumstances she would have liked the look. There was a snort, Ren should have met the face as a dragon,? That?s not funny?? Slowly her figure leaned forwards as her thumb tapped on the console,? I take it you have been monitoring the desert as well??

The call came with a blink. Black hair draped over her shoulders as acid green peered over at the helm. Someone requesting the break in radio silence? Tilting her head slowly she leaned back into the captain?s chair and folded her legs. Clicking her pierced tongue a pierced brow lifted. Dark tan skin spread over her robed figure as ears twitched to the plea. Still they maintained radio silence.

The code was not given. This Majin? then one was.

Brows lifted as the code was called out. Standing she waited always ever silent. Then there was a voice,?Clear?? Acid eyes flickered to the source, smiling with those lush pink lips she nodded to the Vulcan but didn?t give the order.

There was a puff of her chest as she moved around,?Vhat zall ze zee?? French accent was strong as she started to pace. There was a snap of her fingers and there was Ren on the bridge of the melody. Acid green eyes that could have been hidden were left the same. There was a sway of her hips as she looked forwards. Smirking she blinked a few times and her piercings were back. Brushing off her robes she glanced at her pale skin with a sigh. No one seemed to get sun on Rhy?din did they?

?Ze voo creen plaze.? Accent could have been easily masked. Still she had other ideas. There was no fun in completely copying this girl. Lifting a brow she smirked. Watching the startled Ren?s double take was perfect.

Immediately Ren had got on with business. Tapping her chin she snickered and waved her hand,?Zoo ave brooke ze adio silence?? Slowly she began to pace on her feet,? Fur ziz?? Looking over at Ren in the screen she spoke again,? Roobal en ze dazert?? Now she waited for the answers to her questions.

This French woman was obviously the captain, obviously Ezra Kain, a shape shifter. Ren had read the file on her, the best spy Star Fleet had to offer, the best secret operative. Great just what Ren needed. Someone who got answers and never gave them? Fantastical? Yet Ren knew this game.

Shifting in her seat she lifted an identical brow to the one on the view screen. The soft voice of Ren came forwards,? I am under orders to contact Admiral Wolvinator if there is need Captain?? There would be no answer to this woman. Ren didn?t see the point. The only one she was ordered to answer to wasn?t near wasn?t here, Admiral Wolvinator was away too.

Ren wasn?t polite, wasn?t playing nice, that wasn?t her game now. There just wasn?t any point on being nice any more. Silently she watched and waited, fingers drumming on the console at the silence she received from this Captain. Leaning forwards she was ever so curious on what that woman was doing on her bridge. There was also wonder to what the Twisted Melody looked like. Why it hadn?t showed on scanners. Was it cloaked, that was new for the Federation, if it was.

Overly interested now in specifics she would have to ask them later when times were better. Ren still waited for what seemed like ages when suddenly there was a click behind her. The mail had come and this time it was in her mail box. As it slid down behind her she itched. Ren get mail? Never. Something was starting to push at her chest. Reading the letter would have to wait. For now she had an urgency that needed her full attention. Ren needed to get news to Wolvie about the desert about the scans.

{CAPTAIN}{EZRA}

Smart girl? Very smart girl? Ezra could be amused if it were not for the fact that her ship had been exposed. Save inside their hiding spot, cloaked, hidden, and silent. The girl had to go and contact Ezra when she was sure the girl knew how to use the beacon. Curious? Yes, but this wasn?t the time for such urges to get the better of Captian Ezra Kain.

Snapping her fingers she moved over to a view screen. The recent scans of the desert being delivered. Study was what she did for several long moments. Shaking her head blonde vanished and black returned a bright green streak down its bangs. Tan skin returned and lush lips reformed. Ezra eyeballed the scans. Drumming her fingers she pressed down to engineering,? Zarleet? Vhaz our anage zo ze beacon??

A male?s voice called back,?We?re in range now captain? If I boost the communications. We can get word out in ten minuets.? Then the voice cut off.

Ten minuets, Ezra liked that idea. Nodding she looked towards the figure next to her,? ?Ake et zoa.? Winking to the person she turned back to Ren.

Wiggling her brows she spoke softly,? Et vill beh zent.? Then with a wave of her hand she was gone. Communication over. Ezra had done her job.

Ezra looked around for a moment before sliding into her chair. Using it to cradle her figure she snapped her finger. View screen came to life and there it was, what she was doing before. Watching historical logs. Snickering at a few points yes, Ezra wasn?t really conventional. After all the Captain was bored. Having to lay in wait was such a wonderful job. Admiral Wolvinator had told her to stay hidden. Ezra had seen him many times, but he had not seen her. That girl was good at it.

The reports from her operative on Rhy?din had told her all she needed to know about Ren. Ren was in distress, in need of so much. That just made the Captain sympathetic. Nothing more.

Ren sighed in relief and turned. Snatching up the letter that had been dropped she swallowed. That hand writing. Hands began to shake. Biting her lip she looked around. Jock was sleeping or off and about. Ren was holding a letter she hadn?t expected. Slowly she tore it open. Eyes shaking she read the words over and over. Gasping she stood and looked around. The letter being dropped in its place. Day five of house sitting. The same day she had dressed up the Manor.

Earth Angel,

I am almost home. I?m coming home to you.

Love always,

Your Dark Prince.

Panic. Ren rushed up the stairs. All four flights to her empty room. Pulling open a box she rummaged through it. There it wasn?t. Then where was it? Gasping she looked around. The Manor had it.

Out the door she would go, Estate under lock and key. To the Manor and to the dress, blue summer dress and blue heels. As she slid it on she received a double letter. Obvious that he hadn?t known where to send the letter. Stay or go? The question bothered her a bit, but before she could stop her feet she was off to the inn. Deep breaths taken along as she ran.

Ren?s Prince was at last coming home. When they met at the Inn there were tears in her eyes. Sobbing with joy she was soon at peace with his comfort. There was another element. Ren?s phases were done. Ren?s curse was broken. There was so much in that realization that Ren seemed almost stunned. The next day she?d return to the Estate to check up on her message to Wolvie. Had it gone through? One could only hope.

There was a knock at the door. A blink in her eyes. Opening the door there was a surprise. Captain Ezra Kain, her mechanic Danny Scarlet, and one other was at the door. They were coming to the Estate to stay for a while, until Wolvie returned. Which they suspected would be a day or two. Even that day was an option; after all he wasn?t that far away. It was agreed with them as a group. Something was going on in the desert. Something that needed attention. A mission.
