Wolvinator

((As far as timelines go, these events are taking place during the first and second weeks of September. If for some reason that changes, it will be noted here))

The USS Xavier dropped out of warp just near the planet Corneria, remaining cloaked. Making it?s way towards the planet; sensors had picked up a Federation vessel USS Titan already in orbit around the planet. Wolvinator sat in the command chair of the bridge, his first officer Commander Wootuay to his right, and Kaze Majin, also known as Akuma Ren, to his left.

The vessel had been dispatched to the Lylat system for a border dispute. Apparently the worlds of Corneria and Macbeth were having disputes, despite their long alliance, over borders of the system. According to reports, this political dispute actually started a hostile conflict. The System is an ally of the United Federation of Planets, and it is Starfleet?s responsibility to settle conflicts of this matter peacefully. And despite Wolvinator?s stay on Rhy?Din, he was in close proximity to the star system, making it his duty to respond and end the dispute as quickly as possible.

?Mister Kli?tar.? The Admiral spoke up. ?Any hostility detected in the area??

The Klingon behind him punched in a few commands as he read the sensor readings.

?Negative Admiral, there seems to be no unfriendly craft in the vicinity. Only the USS Titan, in orbit around Corneria.?

Wolvinator nodded to that, taking a look at the vessel on the main viewscreen. It wasn?t as large of a ship as the Xavier, but that didn?t mean that she didn?t pack a wallop nonetheless.

?Mister Sozzu. Send the Titan a coded transponder signal, inform them that we will be decloaking to her starboard aft. Don?t want to startle her.?

?Aye aye sir.? With that the he punched in a few commands from the helm, and then looked back up at the main viewer. Wolvie waited a few moments, to ensure they received the transmission; and then ordered to disengage cloak.

The Xavier slowly swirled into view, flying in formation with the USS Titan, the ship was about half the size of the Admiral?s flagship. Both ships hovered over Corneria as they took to the orbit of the world. The planet below is a fertile farming world with a variety of climates and terrains. Many of the inhabitants live in the shelter of the mountain ranges, where very productive farming soil can be found. It lush and lavish oceans seem to welcome life with open arms. The sprawling cities and various farm lands and even the cavernous mountain ranges are a familiarity all throughout the Lylat System.

?Admiral.? The Klingon Commander spoke up, in his rough and raspy voice. ?The Commanding officer of the Titan is hailing us, Captain Riker? sir.?

A small smile played on his face as he heard that, he stood from his chair, and pulled down on the shirt to his uniform.

?Understood. On screen.?

The main viewer blinked away from the serenity of a blue planet floating in space, to the bridge of the USS Titan. A tall man stood up in front of his crew, wearing a Captain?s collar device. He was a tall man, quite taller than the Admiral that was before him, with dark brown hair and a fully trimmed beard. A smile appearing on his face as they both seemed to recognize each other.

?Well well, long time Admiral.? His deep voice spoke, hinting a sound of jolliness to it. This prompted an immediate smile from Wolvinator, as he responded.

?Indeed it has Will, and how are you??

?Doing well, the Titan has been taking care of me. And how about you?? Wolvie?s mind immediately ran through a hundred things he could have replied to the Captain, but instead he continued with the pleasantries.

?Good, good. Can?t really complain, that is? until this little debacle popped up.? Captain Riker nodded to that, before he continued.

?Apparently you arrived here before me Will, anything you can brief me on that we?re not yet aware of.? The Captain nodded again; as he returned to his chair, apparently ready to give the Admiral a full briefing. Seeing him sit down in the command chair, Wolvinator did the same to ready himself for the conversation at hand. The two commanding officers looked at one another from across their view screens briefly, before Riker spoke up.

?Corneria and Macbeth have had quite a peaceful existence since they both fought in the Lylat Wars, almost twenty years ago. They both have remained sovereign, and they still maintain separate defense fleets. Yet they do share equal responsibility in defense of the system.? Riker shifted in his chair for a moment, as he looked over at the display screen on his command chair before continuing.

?Well Admiral, apparently both sides of the Cornerian and Macbeth forces were reporting minor skirmishes along their corresponding outposts of the system. From reports, both sides believed the other was attacking, due to time frame of the attacks and the frequency.? Wolvinator nodded to that, thinking things over for a moment.

?So then, what is with the urgency from Starfleet Command??

?Neosapiens.?

Wolvinator?s eyes widened, as he suddenly no longer felt comfortable in his chair. He repeated the statement in the form of a question.

?Neosapiens??

?That?s correct Admiral. And we believe they?re behind these attacks. They may be mounting a small invasion fleet to invade the system, seeing how they have the local defense forces up in arms with one another.?

Crossing his hands over themselves, Wolvinator thought for a moment. This was definitely a high-risk situation, if the Neosapien Empire was involved, and it could severely endanger even the Rhy?Din Nebula, seeing how close the system was to the Nebula. This could actually prove to be a much greater threat, then was initially realized.

?Will, how are you sure it is the Neosapiens?? Wolvinator asked, using his right hand to gently stroke his goatee in thought. The idea of having the Neospaiens attack a Federation ally was quite an accusation.

?We picked up three of their Exo-Fighters on sensors when we arrived in the System, one of which we were able to destroy.? Captain Riker replied. The Admiral nodded to his fellow Starfleet commander, as he slowly rose from his chair.

?Will, I suggest meeting with parties from Corneria and Macbeth immediately to advise them of these findings. We can?t have them fighting amongst themselves, with a possible invasion fleet on the horizion.?

With that, Riker stood from his chair as well, giving his uniform top a quick tug downwards.

?Alright Wolvinator, we?ll begin contacting their delegates immediately. Titan out.? The Admiral looked over to his first officer now, and informed him that he would be in his ready room. Kaze rose from her chair as well, looking around for a moment with observant eyes.

?Admiral, may I? accompany you?? She spoke softly, as if she didn?t want to impose. Kaze felt awkward being left on the bridge all by herself, and in the moment Wolvinator hadn?t forgotten his manners to ask her along.

The ready room is a small room on the ship which serves a multi-purpose role for the commander of a Starship. The term was originally used with respect to ships in the British Royal Navy, which had a small room adjacent to the bridge. It served as a rest and sleeping facility for the Captain, separate from his regular private quarters. Occupation of the ready room was required by regulation when the ship was underway in times of war, when the Captain must be immediately available to the bridge at any hour in case of emergency. Many of the original Maritime words and customs, were still used in Starfleet today, seeing how in a sense that Starfleet was a space navy itself.

?Of course you can Kaze.? Waiting for her to join him, they walked off of the bridge to the ready room, and the doors slid shut behind them. Glancing around for a moment, she watched as he walked over to his desk near a large window.

?Wolvie? what?s bothering you? The moment he said the word Neosapien, you looked shocked." Slowly he turned around to face her, taking a breath for a moment as he began to explain.

?Neosapiens are genetically created life forms that were originally created by the Earth Federation during their infancy into the colonization of the solar system. They were created to work as a labor force for mining, construction of colonies, terra forming and starship production; they require very low levels of oxygen, and can withstand harsh atmospheric conditions. They have greater strength, speed, stamina, and vision then baseline humans. In addition, they require very little food and have no need to sleep. Indeed, Neosapiens have been genetically optimized in virtually every bodily attribute. They also generally possess an overall higher intellect than Humans, although they are burdened by a lack of creativity and imagination.?

?Of course, using a sentient workforce led to revolt against their human creators, and started a horrific four-year war, that encompassed the entire system. This would lead to a large number of hostile Neosapiens fleeing the Terran system and colonizing another system quite a distance away from what they knew as home. The Neosapiens that remained behind were granted absolute freedom as Citizens of the United Federation of Planets, where many of them continued their labor duties out of necessity for work.?

?Since that time, the United Federation of Planets has grown considerably and Humans have learned from their previous mistakes. Yet, this did not stop the Neosapien Regime, now calling themselves the Neosapien Empire from causing havoc throughout the years, including a full scale war. And apparently, they were staring in with their problems again.?

Kaze and Wolvinator continued their conversation for quite some time. It gradually steered away from serious talk, to a friendlier one, seeing how Kaze was doing her absolute best to cheer him up. He was beginning to open up to her a bit more, voicing his frustrations in regards to the entire situation back on Rhy?Din. Kaze? listened to him, comforting him with gentle touches occasionally, trying to get his mind off of the problems he was facing. She flirted with him a bit as well, using her quite girlish charm in hopes that she would be able to bring him the joy and happiness back into his life.

?Wootuay to Wolvinator.? The sound interrupted their apparent quite time. The Admiral immediately perked up, answering to the call of duty.

?Go ahead number one.? His voice was slightly scratchy, seeing as he needed to clear his throat after talking in low tones to his guest in his ready room.

?Captain Riker has just informed us that his ship is apparently experiencing, what he believes to be, as some form of sabotage.? Wolvinator?s eyes widened with that.

?Sabotage?? He asked, knowing full well that?s what he had heard.

?Yes sir.?

?Elaborate.?

?Captain Riker has informed us that various fighters are going offline in his main hangar, it could potentially be sabotage and his crew is working at the moment to investigate the matter. I suggest we have a look into our fighters as well, to ensure that we are not being affected by the same phenomena.?

?Yes, agreed number one. Have Commander M?Gia personally oversee the operation in the hangar. I want her to run diagnostics on all the fighters in the hangar, as soon as possible.?

Kaze slid off of his desk, as he rose to his feet, preparing himself to go the main bridge.

?Wolvie, I could go down to main engineering? and see if they need a hand.? The Admiral immediately looked at her with a quirked brow. She had been training in the holodeck during their underway period to Corneria, and she had grasped the ships computer protocols quite well. Could it be possible she was ready to assist in ships functions?

?Are you sure you?ll be able to assist in main engineering Kaze?? She winked at him as he asked that question.

?Doesn?t seem to be that much different from Atlantean Computers, I?m sure I?ll pick it up fast. And besides, I can?t just sit around all day you know.?

With that Wolvie nodded, as he looked over her for a moment. During their previous conversation he had given her a Communicator badge to assist her with traversing the ship, but he for a moment almost felt like he was betraying someone upon doing that. Wolvinator had given Kaspar a Communicator Badge, when the first started becoming serious with one another. Giving her that was an object of protection, and of distress. She could reach him at any time on that in case she was ever in a dire straight.

?Alright.? He said, snapping out of it. ?Report to Chief Engineer M?Gia in main Engineering. She?s Andorian, blue skin? silver hair, antenna. You really can?t miss her.?

?Just take the turbolift?? She queried, as he answered with a nod.

?Alright, I?ll do my best.?

?I know you will.? Wolvie responded as she left his ready room. Her eyes swiftly gazed over his frame as she made her departure, again showing a hint of flirtatious behavior. Smiling to that, he walked onto the bridge himself, that feeling of betrayal gone now, as he observed his Bridge crew hard at work. Everyone in Starfleet wore the Starfleet insignia on their breast, it wasn?t something out of this world special he gave to Kaze. It was given as a temporary crew member, seeing how she was now helping in main engineering. Even though it may be the same gold badge, on two separate women. They both held quite different meanings.

?Admiral, Captain Riker has informed us that the delegates from both sides of the conflict are ready to meet, via secure channels.? Wootuay informed the commanding officer.

?Understood Commander, I suppose that is the absolute quickest way to get all parties at the table.?

Wolvinator moved through the bridge swiftly, standing before his command chair as he looked on the view screen.

?Alright then, let?s open a channel.?

The view screen of the USS Xavier, was split into three windows to allow all partied to talk to one another. On the left was General Plepper, representing the Cornerian Defensive Fleet. He was an older looking, canine male, that was a highly decorated commander. He wore a red uniform, and hat, with various medals and awards covering both the left and right side of his chest. His face sagged a bit from loose skin and fur, and his eyes looked quite sad and droopy. The general spoke in a very gruff voice, and one could almost imagine the way he ?barked? out orders to his fleet. No? pun intended.

On the right hand side of the viewer, was Viceroy Kellogg. At first glance, it was almost humorous to see a gigantic silver furred gorilla in a uniform that looked ten sized too small. He had a large scar that went across his forehead and down the side of his face. His uniform was a dark red, and also looked quite well decorated. These two individuals most certainly took pride in their military careers. Lastly, in between the two leaders was Captain Riker whom was on the bridge of the Titan. Both Starfleet commanders showed no sign of distress as both of their crews attempted to resolve the ?sabotage? that seemed to be occurring on both of their vessels.

?These attacks must stop Viceroy!? Plepper barked.

?You attacked first General, cease your assaults now or face the consequences!? He immediately rebutted in a deep ape voice.

?Gentlemen?? Wolvinator interrupted. ?Gentlemen, please we asked you here to come to a resolve, not continue an argument.?

?Unless you withdraw your forces from sector Zulu, we will send an entire fleet to Macbeth itself!? The general continued, not paying any mind to the Starfleet Admiral.

?You dare threaten me? You pathetic dog??

?Enough!? Wolvinator snapped, briskly standing from his command chair. ?Now both of you, stop this at once! You?re allies, and have been for a very long time.?

?Admiral you don?t understand! They disabled half of our fighters!? The Viceroy blurted out as Plepper talked over him.

?You lie?, you used that weapon of yours on our fleet, and now you dare say we used it on you!?

?Gentlemen?? Riker chimed in. ?Both of our vessels are also being affected by the same phenomena.? The two leaders immediately stopped their arguing, looking to the Captain with quite puzzled faces. They seemed to be in shock at the fact that they may have been arguing over something that may be a common problem. Wolvinator then looked to both of them, backing up the Captain?s statement.

?We have reason to believe that the Neosapiens are behind these attacks. Captain Riker, and the crew of the USS Titan, tracked three Exo-Fighters attempting to leave the system. One of which they were able to destroy.? The Viceroy?s eyes widened as he heard the Admiral speak, perhaps both sides were so eager for conflict that they looked to one another for it. The officers continued speaking on the matter at hand, while Kaze Majin worked diligently in the main hangar, alongside Commander M?Gia.

?Alright then General, we are going to withdraw our ships from the sector. Continue with the mock assault as discussed. We?re going to deploy a few waves of Starwings and Runabouts, and leave them in the asteroid field. The moment we spot trouble, we?ll be rushing to your aid.?

All of the parties nodded their heads collectively, before departing from the conference. If all went according to plan, they would be able to ambush the Neosapiens if they attempted an invasion. If not, the entire system could fall into the hands of a dreadful enemy.

((This Post has in association with the recent letters to Wolvinator, that have been posted in the Mailbox Thread located here ))

Wolvinator entered his ready room after the heated negotiations between the Cornerians and the Macbeth Government. He was still awaiting a response from main engineering, and wanted to take a few moments to collect his thoughts. Approaching his desk he noticed that his personal terminal showed he had a new subspace transmission. He opened it to see six attachments, and a letter from Miko. His eyes scanned over the letter, and a smile came to his face. It was nice to see something from her, despite hearing that she temporarily moved from the mansion. He didn?t realize that he would be ?missed? this much, seeing how many attachments were there.

Looking over the first two letters, he saw that they were from Kalis-nar, an apology for his actions before Wolvie?s departure. That event actually slipped his mind, as he moved over to the next letter, which was from Kaspar. He leaned in a bit to read this one, seeing exactly what it was about, and he was actually surprised to see that she even wrote him, despite how everything had been going. It wasn?t exactly what he had been looking for. He had hoped it would be something in the form of her missing him, or even to hear that she wanted him back. But? nonetheless it was about her possibly leaving him and not allowing him to pamper her any further.

The Admiral sighed to that, leaning back in his chair now. He didn?t want to admit it to himself, but despite how things were starting to take off with him and Kaze, he was? disappointed. His blue eyes scanned over the next letter, apparently from the priestess that he spoke to once or twice. She was an associate of Kalis, and wanted to give an update on the situation in Rhy?Din, which was understandable. Turning to the next letter, again? it was from Kalis. Had every attachment been from him? It sure seemed like it. The only pleasant news to come from the letter was that Hitomi was with child, something he had heard an inkling of.

The last attachment stared at him for a moment, probably something else from Kalis-nar, asking for forgiveness yet again. Wolvie almost debated not even opening it this time. But, he decided since Miko took the time to get these to him, he would read it. His eyes started reading it over without even noticing who it was from. He stopped, blinking a few times and then began to re-read it. This time he was definitely paying attention to it. The third paragraph caught his eye.

?Asked Lang to move in with you?? He asked the screen. But as quickly as he found himself getting angry, that quickly washed away. Wolvie leaned in closer, reading the next few lines aloud to himself:

?I would have asked you, but you aren't exactly here... I do feel kind of empty now that you're gone... But that is why they say... you really don't know what you have until it's gone... Don't get me wrong, I wasn't lying when I said I loved Lang... But I have no doubt in my mind that I still love you...

I really do miss you...

Love,
Kas?

Pausing for a moment, he could help but feel the need to act. His heart nearly leapt into his throat, and he couldn?t hold back from hitting ?Reply? on the top of the screen.

The doors to the ready room parted and slid open, as Kaze Majin entered. Seeing her enter, Wolvinator pushed the terminal away and blinked it off. A smile appeared on her face the moment she made eye contact with him, and she moved over around to the side of his desk.

?Everything okay Wolvie?? She asked, with a slight worry to her face.

?Yeah, everything?s fine. How?d you make out in engineering?? As he asked her the question, she proudly replied to him.

?Well, Commander M?Gia and I found out that it?s some type of Nexus Flare. We were able to trace it from the far side of the planet, she said it was being reflected off of the atmosphere at the Xavier and Titan. M?Gia said she?ll be remodulating shield frequency every fifty-eight minutes.?

Wolvinator smiled at her, clapping his hands as she reported into him.

?A fine job there Miss Majin.? Blushing, she leaned down to place a kiss on his cheek.

?I hope I picked up everything well.?

?From the way you?re talking, I wouldn?t doubt it one bit.? He said, glancing at his terminal again. Kaze then slid on top of his desk, crossing her legs slowly, and looking over to Wolvinator as he sat in his chair.

?So, what is going on with the delegates??

?Well, we are going to allow them to continue their engagement, and we are going to withdraw from the system.? He said it with a quite serious face, so serious in fact that Kaze couldn?t believe he just had said that. It was his mission to go there and end the debacle peacefully, not allow to sides that were supposed to be allies continue in conflict. Her smile wiped off of her face now, and she looked worried again. But nonetheless, she had to ask.

?So? what of the peace process? We?re going to just leave?? Wolvie smiled as she asked that, moving his gaze over to her now.

?Well, that?s what we want the Neosapiens to think.? She blinked a few times, hearing him say that, before nodding with a smile.

?So we want them to think we?ve withdrawn??

?Exactly.? Wolvinator replied. ?We?re going to be moving out of the system here shortly, and dropping a fleet of fighters into the asteroid belt.?

?Alright then, I?m going to go back down to the Holodeck.? Kaze said to him, sliding off of the desk

?Sounds good to me, I?ll join you down there myself in a bit.?

The USS Xavier, and USS Titan flew through the Lylat System at full impulse. The vessels were moving at a quickened pace away from the planet Corneria, withdrawing from the system. The commanders wanted to make it completely clear that they were leaving the system, and chose to take things slowly. If there were anyone tracking their movements, they wanted their ?trackers? to fully believe that they no longer held any interest in the system. After a few moments, the vessels reached the Lylat Asteroid belt, slowing down to take maneuvers to avoid the large rocks and debris that orbited the system.

Both of the ships dropped their pitch, and came almost dangerously close to the asteroids. Deflectors wouldn?t necessarily same them at this range, but that?s what they wanted. The cover of the huge space debris was perfect, and with that, both ships went to flight quarters. Dozens of small, tiny fighters flew from the two Federation Starships, like Bee?s from a hive. One after the other, they took to the asteroid field, ducking, hiding and avoiding coming from around the meteors. The ships squeezed out as many vessels as they could in ninety seconds, totaling to eighty fighters in total.

?Wolvinator to Xavier.? The voice sounded on the main bridge of the Xavier, as Wootuay sat in the command chair.

?This is Xavier, Admiral, reading you loud and clear.?

?Roger number one, we?ll be seeing you shortly.?

?Aye aye.?

With that the two vessels streamed into warp, and leaving the system.

?Just us now, eh Wolvie?? Kaze asked from the Spacewing just off to his starboard side. The Admiral moved his gaze over to her, and smiled through his flight mask. He was wearing a sleek black helmet, an oxygen mask and full flight uniform. It was meant as a precautionary measure, in case his ship took fire and he had the chance for escape.

?That?s right Kaze, just us.?

She returned the smile over to him, though it was unable to be seen through the flight mask, before her gaze turned back forward. She took a few breaths in, trying to get comfortable to everything she was wearing. Sure, the simulator was one thing, but being in the real environment was a completely different one. The minutes ticked by like hours. Space, as glorious as it may have looked, was completely boring. ?The Wait.? If the plan was to succeed, they had to remain diligent. But, things seemed to unfold quicker then they had expected.

Multiple targets began popping up on long-range sensors. Streaming from around the dark side of the planet. It certainly proved M?Gia?s theory, something was certainly happening from back there. Seemed as though they were using the planet to hide from the vessels. The Titan had definitely startled them when they showed up, and they were just waiting for them to pull away so they could continue with whatever plans they originally had.

?Who said a watched pot never boils huh?? Wolvinator said, with a chuckle in his voice.

?Let?s go get ?em??

Wolvinator

Date: 2007-09-08 21:00 EST
Kaze Majin glanced over at Wolvie as he spoke, giving him a slight smile and a nod while she spoke through her mask.

?Lets do this and Wolvie... Don't die on me kay??

?Who? Me?? He replied to her and engaged his engines, streaming away from the asteroid field at Corneria, at top speed. The fighters all tore off behind him, one after the other streaming towards the luscious blue planet. The fighters all took formation, in their respective wings. Shuttlecraft, Assault fighters, Runabouts, and Spacewings all hurled at the various Neosapien Exo-Fighters.

?Neosapien Insurgents, you have violated the Federation Space of a free allied territory. Call off your attack, and retreat from this system.? Wolvinator shouted over a hailing frequency, to the large fleet of fighters. As expected, there was no answer. After waiting a few seconds, he spoke again.

?Neosapien Insurgents, you have violated the Federation Space of a free allied territory. Call off your attack, and retreat from this system. This is your last and final warning.? Suddenly over the communications frequency, a deep and firm female voice replied. Not showing any visual, just audio only.

?Only way we?ll leave this system is over the floating corpses of federation scum.? With that eerie message the Exo-fighters opened fire on the approaching fleet. Phaser bolts hurled at the Runabouts and Spacewings, as Wolvinator took evasive action and powered weapon systems.

?Fleet, break formation, and let's get them out of here!? Wolvinator roared to the fleet as his Spacewing sped up and flew towards the Neosapien fighters. Holding down his flight stick, he bobbed and weaved into the fray. Kaz sticking to his wing, she did her best to keep up. Phaser bolts ripped through the shields of Neosapien fighters, and Federation ships took hits as well. The once peaceful area of space was now lit up with green and red streams of light, torpedoes, ships and debris. Explosions could be seen, yet was void of any sound due to the endless black vacuum. Wolvinator?s pilot skills were definitely well honed, barely taking any damage to his shields as he repeatedly took out enemy targets, one after the other. Kaze was also doing her fair share, except she was coming under enemy fire.

Wolvinator locked onto another fighter, and as he squeezed his trigger, it exploded it a flash of light. Majin also beaded up two fighters in formation, and growled as she fired blast after blast and taking two more down.

?It doesn't even look like they're using shields.? She chirped over the frequency.

?Don't let them surprise ya Kaze?? As the Admiral said that he pulled his flight stick back, and brought his pitch upward, avoiding a torpedo as it hurled at him.
?Whew, close.?

She watched as the torpedo collided with an asteroid and sighed as she went back to using the phasers, locking onto the lead ship of a fighter wing, and taking it down. The Neosapiens began to group together with a much tighter formation as they attacked, and before long some of the Federation ships were coming into serious trouble. Kaze gasped as she took a barrage of serious fire for a moment.

?Shields at forty-five percent Wolvie!? She growled to her flight leader. A few blasts rocked Wolvinator's ship as well while he jolted the vessel from side to side

? Kaze! Kaze! Watch your six, they're coming up behind us!? She looked at her sensors, with a quite worried look on her face. Letting a few explicatives escape her lips, she noticed that there were two fighters trailing her and taking aim. She then went back over the communication frequency.

?Any suggestions??

Wolvinator

Date: 2007-09-09 01:25 EST
?A roundabout loop.?

?What??

?A roundabout loop, pull up on your flight stuck for a fill three-sixty. Come up behind those Neo?s and blast ?em!?

Kaze nodded as she listened to the orders that were instructed to her by Wolvinator. She was quite impressed with his overall flying ability, and that?s why she initially asked for a suggestion in the first place. A few phaser bolts streamed across the hull of her Spacewing, as she pulled back on her flight stick. Gripping it firmly in both hands, the vessel began to pitch upward, and began performing a vertical loop maneuver. Kaze winced tightly, nearly closing her eyes from seeing anything at all, and before she knew it she was coming right up on the two Neosapien Exo-Fighters that were targeting her a moment ago. Releasing her grip just enough, she squeezed off multiple blasts at the two fighters, taking them out.

?Bingo!? Wolvinator exclaimed over the comm frequency as he swooped off towards the heat of the fight. Phaser blasts were going back and forth in front of him, with some of the fighting even took to the atmosphere of Corneria itself. Then, dropping out of warp, were a few Cornerian and Macbeth fighters to join the battle.

?Wolvie how are your shields?? Kaze asked, moving past a few friendly fighters. He glanced over at his HUD to check the reading.

?Eighty-seven percent, and yours?? She swallowed hard, and took another phaser blast.

?Still at forty-five percent.? As he heard his wingman speak Wolvinator ducked back in his fighter, planting both of his feet on the floor of his cockpit?s cabin. He throttled down and hit his retro rockets to hover just above Kaze Majin?s fighter.

?Compensate the shields, while I give you some cover.?

Kaze nodded and did as was told, she began to balance and compensate shields. The Admiral took a few hits, as the new fleet began engaging the Neosapiens. The Cornerian and Macbeth forces had easily joined the firefight, bouncing back and forth between bogies as the enemy forces began to dwindle. Meanwhile Kaze closed her eyes while still configuring.

?Hang on Wolvie, I? I?m almost done.?

?Roger... I'm at seventy four percent shields.?

She nodded and closed her eyes until she heard a beep. The Computer had re-compensated her shields to sixty-seven percent. As she reported in to him he barrel rolled, and came next to her, taking her by the side as her wing. Yet as soon as that happened, four Neosapien warships dropped out of Warp, and immediately began taking fire on the Federation and Lylat fleet.

?Holy shit!? Kaze and Wolvie, both seemed to yell at the exact same time. The Warships were picking off the ships, like shooting fish in a barrel. Instantly performing a roundabout turn, Wolvinator came through on the communications channel, as Kaze?s Spacewing followed.

?Fleet, this is Admiral Wolvinator. Retreat back to the Asteroid field, I repeat, retreat back to the asteroid field!?

Kaze nodded at the sound of Wolvinator's orders and pulled back as he did. She saw a flash of light streak towards her and cursed under her breath knowing it was too late. There was a crash against her side and a sudden spark from one of the panels to her left. She was shaken but kept control looking over her shoulder as one of the war ships pursued them. She looked back over her shoulder in time to see three federation ships uncloak as they took shelter in the asteroid belt.

"I'm okay..." She managed to say out as she ran her fingers under the brim of her helmet. She caressed over her left eye and pulled her hand back with a silent wince. Slowly her gaze shifted over her hand and creamy red blood shimmered back at her. She wiped her hand on her leg and gripped her flight stick remaining even. Again she looked over her shoulder at Wolvinator and spoke over her comm," Looks like we won?"

A slight smile and wince came to her but she made sure that the wince wasn't heard by Wolv. She looked towards the fleeing Neo ships and sighed closing her eyes for a second. She could feel the on coming throbs of head pain growing. Ignoring them she looked aroung again as Wolvinator's voice came again over a comm to her,"Looks like it."

She smiled again and nodded to him pressing her hand to her helmet and closing her eyes again. Once more she let out a wince but ignored the pain knowing all to well it was only a flesh wound. Nothing to worry about.

Wolvinator sighed as he watched the Federation Starships de-cloak. The fleet had finally arrived. And despite minimal losses to allied personnel, the fleet was able to hold off the aggressors until the Starships were able to arrive. Starfleet Command, due to treaty stipulations, only issued cloaking technology to forty-one ships in the entire Federation. It was times like this that those ships were needed to end conflict as quickly as possible.

The Neosapiens began to flee the system, as two of their own Warships were quickly taken by surprise and were destroyed. Their fighters immediately began to disengage, and the Starfleet vessels tracked them down to ensure they fled the system. Wolvinator and the other pilots turned back towards the Calvary and began to corral any stragglers that dared to be bold. It was quite amazing how quickly they departed the moment that backup arrived, and it was clearly evident that they had bitten off more then they could chew at this instance. The Neosapien fleet just wasn?t the size of an invasion fleet, if that was there intentions, and perhaps they were merely using the area as a testing facility for the new weapon that seemed to penetrate the Starship?s shields.

Slowly, the fighters began piling back into their respective hangars as the Titan and Xavier both took a flight quarters formation.

?Well, it looks like it?s over ladies and gentlemen. It was looking pretty hectic for a while.? Wolvinator said, as he stepped out of the cockpit of his Spacewing and onto the deck of the USS Xavier. The pilots all shared mutual congratulations to one another, quite pleased with the end result, and hoping that this would be the last of the Neosapiens, at least for a while. Kaze walked over to the Admiral, with the look of dried blood on her forehead.

?So? how?d I do?? She asked, rather meekly.

?You did real well Kaze? but? what?s that on your head?? She immediately raised her hand up, brushing her fingers over her damaged skin.

?It?s nothing, I just took a hard blast up there.?

?Well nonetheless, head down to sickbay and have that checked out.? She nodded to him, and turned to make way for the turbolift.

?And Kaze?? Wolvinator started, as she turned around to look back at him with quite hopeful eyes. He looked her over and smiled. His blue eyes gently refracting the light from the top of the hangar. His beard slowly moved with the contour of his face, as the smile emerged, stretching his skin out to the sides.

?Thanks for your help.? She smiled at him, and gave him a slight nod.

?Anytime, Admiral.? With that, she made her way to sickbay.

Sitting at his desk in his quarters he was reading by himself. Wolvinator did enjoy his alone time, and there were moments that sitting down with a good book was exactly what he needed. For the first time in a while, he had some time with just his own thoughts. The thought of Rhy?Din played heavy on his conscience. He had gone there almost as a partial ?retirement?, at least for the time being. His life had always been hectic, and since he was old enough to fight? that?s what he?s been doing. Between military service, Starfleet commitments, Vigilante days and? being the leader of an elite team of people just like him; his life had been one constant battle after another. As much as he wanted a place to relax and take some time off, Rhy?Din didn?t quite give him that. That much was true. Yet, he knew that? going into the entire situation. Rhy?Din isn?t exactly a safe haven, and things aren?t find and dandy, but that?s where he wanted to be. A new place that was in need, and people that could benefit from what he could bring to the table.

His children had come to mind, and he quietly debated whether or not he should try opening a channel to them to say hello. His son was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade a short time ago, and was doing quite well for himself in Starfleet. His daughter was in her last year of the Academy, and before he would know it, she would be in the fleet as well. Part of him was so proud of them, choosing to follow that path in their lives. They didn?t have to grow up like he did, and they didn?t have to ?fight? for their own existence. They wanted to be explorers, to see the Galaxy. But part of him was worried. The Fleet wasn?t exactly the safest place that anyone could be. Look at what he had just gone through. Wolvinator himself could have been one of those downed fighters just as easily as anyone else. It wasn?t the first time he would have to put his life on the line, and it wouldn?t be the last. But the thought of his own children having to go through that, brought chills up his metallic spine.

The Xavier would be sticking around the Lylat system for a while longer to ensure that there wouldn?t be anymore Neosapien incursions. And as much as he wanted to be with his Flagship during this time, his services weren?t exactly ?needed? at this point. The mystery had been discovered, and he had done was Starfleet needed him to do. They needed the expertise of a highly decorated Admiral, and the finesse of an exceptional Starfighter pilot. When he left, he had to. He wanted to. He had to just? get away. And yet now, he felt something pulling at him. Nagging him. Urging him to go back to the place where he had unfinished business. Where people needed him. Where he was cared about, and where the balance of good and evil was holding on by a tiny thread.

He took a long blink of his eyes, and a person?s face flashed before his mind. She had pink hair, at least when he last saw her, and a gorgeous smile. Her eyes were almost magic, with hazel, green and blue playing off each other quite well. She was a petite little thing that always managed to bring a grin onto his face, and despite having Kaze Majin by his side through this entire ordeal, he just had to at least speak with her.

?Kas?? the name rolled off of his lips as he gently rose from his seat.

Wolvinator had made up his mind.

Wolvinator? was going back.

?Admiral, I?m sure. We?ll be fine.?

?Alright number one, but I just want to be perfectly clear.?

?Yes sir, understandable. We will contact you if need be. You?ve already made that perfectly clear.?

Looking at him through the view screen, Wolvinator smiled to his first officer and nodded.

?Be well Wootuay.?

?And you as well Wolvinator. We?ll contact you in a few days. Xavier? out.?

He smiled and nodded his head, watching his first officer blink off of the screen. The Xavier would be staying behind in the Lylat system for a few days, along with the other ships of the small defense fleet, until a Federation envoy would be able to make it to the system and ensure stability in the region. The Admiral already contacted Starfleet Command, as well as the other commanders of the fleet. He felt an urge to stay, but an even greater one to return to Rhy?Din. It was time.

Looking to his starboard side, he watched as Kaze flew alongside his wing, in her own Spacewing. Neither of them were wearing combat equipment, or flight masks, and Wolvie could clearly see the smile on Kaze?s face as she flew. The two vessels were traveling at Warp six, and headed back for the Rhy?Din Nebula.

?Hanging in there alright Kaze?? he asked, with a smile.

?Yeah, piece of cake.? She offered him a wink as she looked over to him.

?Thanks Kaze? for everything. I? really mean that.?

?That?s what I?m here for Wolvie, I?m really glad that you took me along, I?m the one that bugged you to take me? remember?? They both shared a chuckle at that. She didn?t bug him one bit, she asked. And after some thought to the matter, he asked her to accompany him. It was the way it happened, and he was glad that it did happen that way. She greatly helped him with his own personal healing process, not to mention the peace process of the Cornerian?s and the people of Macbeth. Things hadn?t turned out the way they expected, and despite the grim situation, everything turned out for the better.

"Well, no matter what. I appreciate it Kaze, I think more than you realize."

Looking forward again, he stared off into space. They would be traversing the Nebula in a few hours from now, and he would be able to make his way back. He had a feeling he?d be needed back on Rhy?Din, and he had hoped that everything wasn?t in complete disarray upon his return.

The two Spacewing?s dropped out of warp, just outside the Rhy?Din Nebula. The Nebula itself was the furthest point of the Nexus that expanded from the multiverse. It was safe to surmise that this Nebula existed in thousands upon thousands of Galaxies, and was the main focal point for one singular multiverse continuum. The Nebula itself was a magnificent cloud stretching in front of them for what seemed to be forever. It didn?t cover a complete sector, but it was definitely quite a few light years long. Flashes of light could be seen in front of them, appearing almost like a static lightning storm, and in no way did it appear to be threatening at all.

?Alright?? Wolvinator began speaking over the communications channel. ?I?ve locked onto the sensor buoy, it?s faint? but I got it. Let?s head in.?

The two vessels began piercing through the almost opaque cloud in space. Making their way through, the Nebula closed in behind their two vessels as Wolvinator?s ship took the lead, enveloping the fighters completely inside. Minor static lightning could be seen around them, some closer than others, but it appeared to be happening all around. The standard running lights gently lit up the clouds around them, refracting light on the tiny particles that made up the expanse. Sensors began clearing themselves up, the only thing that they were able to lock onto at all the entire time was the sensor buoy. The Xavier had placed it there upon its last entrance to give a ?marker? on where it was safe to traverse.

Suddenly, the alarm sounded inside Wolvinator?s cockpit, as he quickly looked over the weapons console. His eyes widened, and he attempted to take an evasive maneuver.

?Wolvie? what is it??

?MINE!?

?What?!?

Suddenly, with a spectacular flash of light, there was a large explosion.

It appeared that someone decided to use the safety of the beacon, as a trap.

Wolvinator

?Wolvie!? Kaze screamed over the communications channel as her ship was rocked by the explosion. Her shields took a hit, and she immediately realized she lost short range sensors. Majin?s weapon system was also damaged, but it didn?t appear that it was anything too major. She looked out her cockpit and yelled again.

?WOLVIE!? She heard nothing for a moment, and she lowered her head. She couldn?t see him on sensors, nonetheless make out a visual of him. Her face tightened up while she gritted her teeth. It was as if?

?Ugh? eh? yeah, yeah I?m here.? Wolvinator?s voice came over the frequency.

?Lost comms there for a minute.? She darted up, looking around, trying to see if she could find him.

?Wolvie, what the hell happened, where are you?? As she said that his fighter slowly came into her visual horizon, just in front of her.

?I?m right here Kaze. It? it was a mine or something. Nearly took me out, but it did take out the subspace relay.?

?Are you alright?? She asked with a sigh, seeing his fighter come into her main view. She was incredibly worried about him, especially since she lost him for a moment

?Eh, yeah? I?m aiight. Looks like? eh. Looks like I lost short range sensors, forward shields, comms, and the targeting computer.? He paused for a moment, looking over his readouts in front of him.

?As you can tell, I got comms back up. But? the rest of this stuff needs to get repaired back at the hangar. Ah, crap? maneuvering thrusters are slow in responding too. That thing was heavy, whatever it was.?

?Well, I?m just glad you?re alright.?

?Thanks Kaze. I?m not picking up anything dangerous on long range sensors, are you?? She looked over her tactical display and scanned the course and heading for Rhy?Din.

?No, nothing? everything looks okay.?

?Yeah, me either. Just double checking, I don?t think I?d be able to take another one of those blasts.? Wolvinator said, quite truthfully, with a sigh.

?Alright then, let?s take it back to the estate then.?

?Yeah, let?s avoid a collision also, seeing how neither of us has short range sensors. I?ll enter warp first, at these coordinates, and then you follow about twelve hundred kilometers to port.?

Kaze nodded and entered the coordinates for warp speed, as Wolvinator entered warp himself. It would take them just a little over an hour to reach the planet, and even though he didn?t want to admit it, he was quite worried. His sensors hadn?t quite picked it up until it was too late. Who and why would anyone drop a space mine in the middle of a subspace relay device and beacon? It couldn?t have been an accident. Someone was definitely setting a trap, and Wolvinator would have to be on his guard.

Kaze entered into warp after him just like he had said. Her eyes were glazed over in a fine layer of misty tears. She was relieved that she hadn't lost him, she didn't know where to go from here at all and was glad to let him take the lead. She swallowed, her hands shaking as she followed his every moved adjusting speed to stay well behind him. She looked around as the stars flickered past her. They seemed not beautiful as before, but distant, silent, errie, or an omen she didn't like.

She checked her sensors frequently and bit her lip. Something didn't feel right... She wanted to suggest going back to the Xavier, making repairs there and leaving again in the morning, but something told her that Wolvie wanted to go back to Rhy'din, besides the damage. She bit her lip and lowered her head, she would have to protect Wolvie, she knew he was too proud to show it, but she knew he was worried and the status of his fighter was a big part of his worries.

She was not comfortable with what just happened. She wondered why a mine had been by the beacon in the first place. She began to think until it hit her like a ton of bricks, it was a trap... But why the trap was there she didn't know. She swallowed and looked at her sensors again. Could someone be after Wolvie? After her?

She shook her head... Stupid worries, that's all she ever did was worry over the stupidest ideas in her head. No one could possibly have a desire to kill Wolvie, and the only person who wanted her dead was prisoner, well that she could remember. She swallowed and sighed coming to the conclusion in her head that perhaps it was just an error made earlier by a passing ship.

Her head shot up, but it couldn't have been... Someone had to of armed the mine. Someone had set a trap.... But it couldn't have been for them... Could it?

((The following post takes places with the complete approval by all three characters involved))

Brian Fury?s small fighter cleared the clouds and streamed through the atmosphere, rising up into the stars. It was still early yet, and despite Brian not going to sleep he definitely did not have any signs of fatigue. As the vessel cleared the atmosphere, Brian began scanning on long-range sensors. He was checking to see if that buoy was still around at all, or if it something else was going on. Fury had hoped that something else didn?t trip the proximity mine to go off, or that it malfunctioned, and then suddenly a ship dropped out of warp.

It hovered above him and had yet to take orbit around the planet, and he immediately began scanning it. The results came back, one humanoid, male. It was a Spacewing class fighter, not exactly a ship that was run of the mill. Spacewings were some of Starfleet?s exemplary fighters. If this were going to turn out to be a dogfight, Fury would be at a supreme disadvantage, and he knew it. If this was the Admiral?s fighter, why did he scan him? He must of known of the mine, he triggered it? didn?t he? More readings came in, and his eyes took no hesitation in scanning them over. Minor hull damage, forward shields were completely down, apparently there was a problem with sensors, and the weapon systems were showing up inconclusive.

?Admiral Wolvinator.? Brian Fury went out on the communication channel. His voice had a sinister growl to it.

?Unidentified craft, please identify yourself.? Of course? he didn?t have to answer him. He wouldn?t just tell any space faring vessel scooting around the system who he was, especially? if he couldn?t quite see him.

?Admiral Wolvinator. It has been a long time, a long? long time.?

?I say again, unidentified craft? identify yourself.?

?There is an old Klingon proverb Admiral, revenge is a dish best served cold. I believe you know it well.?

?Unidentified craft, identify yourself. This is your final warning.?

?No Admiral, it?s yours.? With that Brian Fury locked onto the Spacewing, and fired full phasers at it. There wasn?t any hesitation in his actions, he knew the voice and he knew it well. The mine hadn?t destroyed him, and in fact Fury preferred it this way; to face his enemy, warrior to warrior, and blow him out of the stars. The fighter looked like it tried to take evasive action, but it was too late and all too easy. The nose of the space fighter was blown clear off. Hull integrity was failing and the vessel listed out of control towards the planets surface.

A second ship dropped out of warp, and it?s something he hadn?t expected. He didn?t want to take a chance. In an instant he locked onto the second fighter and fired a photon torpedo at it, before turning back towards the Admiral?s fighter. It had entered the atmosphere at this point, and he quickly tracked it down to go in for the kill.

The ship listed out of control, beginning to go ballistic as it entered the atmosphere. Wolvinator desperately struggled for control with his flight stick. His danger sense was going out of control. It had been doing so since he dropped out of warp. He couldn?t see his adversary, and despite trying to take any evasive maneuvers, the Spacewing was too heavily damaged to do anything.

?Kaze! Kaze! Come in! I?m going down, repeat? I?m going down. I?m going to attempt to eject!?

The enemy fighter pursued him, and at the moment he didn?t quite care who it was, but he was trying to get out of this predicament he had found himself in. He thought about going back to the Xavier, might have been the best course of action. But then again, flying such a far distance disabled and trying to go back through a Nebula wasn?t exactly advisable either. The fighter rocked back and forth as he began to take heavy phaser fire to his aft section. Wolvie?s aft shields were holding, but they wouldn?t be for long. What made the situation worse was that his forward hull had been ripped off from the initial attack and now the ship began to make reentry. The hull buckled, the ship began to tremor, and Wolvinator was cursing like mad. He visually looked over his shoulder to his aft position, and watched the fighter continue to swoop in on him.

Alarms sounded all throughout the cockpit, emergency systems were trying to come online as other systems went offline. The Spacewing lit up now and was on fire. Blasts were hitting him from behind. He lost control, and there was nothing he could do. As he streamed across the early morning sky there was an explosion, and a flash of bright white light.

Admiral Wolvinator?s Spacewing had? exploded.

She couldn't believe what had happened, right as she was coming out of warp there was a explosion against her shields, or at least what was left of them and broke into the engines. Instantly her engines went off line. She heard Wolvie's voice next and her eyes went wide. Before she knew it the sky was on fire with debris. She didn't have time to think as systems restored and engines restarted. Her hands were shaking, she was falling, but she needed to know that Wolvie had gotten out. She looked up but the hail of fire and mettle came down faster and faster until she cursed feet from the ground. Her nose dived into the ground and slid a few dozen feet before coming to a stop at the lake at the edge of the Glenn.

Slowly she looked up to see Wolvie's spacewing in shambles and falling into the lake before her, still very much on fire, and very much destroyed. She kicked at the door before it slid open. Looking up to see a fighter speeding off into the night. She was in shock unable to speak. Her eyes scanning the heavens for any sign of a shoot, any sign that Wolvie was still alive. She couldn't see him any where... He wasn't there. Slowly she saw something drifting down to her feet. The letters S.E.F.F. clearly visible and embroidered down the arm and over the coat pocket on the chest. Leaning over she pulled the flight jacket to her chest, his flight jacket to her chest.

She fell to her knees clinging to the jacket and screamed in agony," Wolvie!!!" Tears over whelmed her. She didn't care that she was brused, cut, beaten, even in some minor spots broken. As she clung to the jacket her only thought was of Wolvie. He just couldn't be dead.

Brian Fury

Date: 2007-09-12 23:00 EST
His fighter swooped into the atmosphere, tracking the large fireball and explosion. Various debris and parts littered off of it, and fell down over parts of the city below. He swooped down over the Glen now, as a large splash erupted from the mangled fighter crashing into the lake. The fighter screamed over the trees, before Brian began climbing into the sky again. The pads of his fingers tapped over the console before him, as he scanned for life signs.

?One? female?? he then over corrected, and headed back for the Glen.

?Well I gotta make sure??

As he came back down into the tree line, he fired off a torpedo into the lake. Had to make sure that his target was done, obliterated. There could be no mistakes, no coming back. Brian had already come back from the dead himself, and he didn?t want his enemy to have the same luck. Hitting the water with a splash, and an explosion, the torpedo forced water to spray up everywhere. If anyone were in there, dead or alive, they?d be done now. Kicking on the engines again the space fighter quickly left the scene and streamed off. The sun was beginning to rise on the planets surface; last thing he wanted was to get a report or a witness of his fighter?s description on the morning news reports.

He had done what he came to do. There were no life signs that matched the man he was looking for.

Wolvinator was dead.
