Five days had passed. And still there was no change. Drake lay as lifeless as before. Willow still did not draw breath. Shea would not loose hope. She would give her every moment to aiding them. Any moment she was not with Victor, Mina, Aiden, Mila and her grandchildren she was with Willow or Drake. Giving what she could to Ghallon and Cadaria. Ghallon waited, watching over Willow. There was no fear on his face, only sorrow. The news of Lori and Georg's child to be had brought a ghost of a smile to him.
Nothing it seemed would brighten Cadaria's mood. She slept beside Drake, ate her meals there, and never left. Shea saw it upon herself to bring her some of her own things, clothing, books and anything else. Cadaria seemed a little cheered by the elven lyre, and harp. By her books. But Shea was there was sorrow in her, and fear. And Shea knew that Cadaria wished with every fiber that she had gone out to battle, that it had been her in Drake's place.
Shea slid the tray of food on to the angel's lap, and knelt there beside her. "If you had been in the battle, things might have been worse. Luca would have used you against Drake. That is why he asked you to stay with the healers. You can not blame your self for what happened. The battle was none of your doing." Shea brushed a dark hair from Cadaria's fair face.
"Do not despair." She pressed a hand to Cadaria's chest. "He will wake, sooner or later. Ghallon knew what he was doing, when he asked that these weapons be placed around Drake. Two staves, one from each white wizard, both so pure and good. Two weapons of more darkness, yet not the type that is evil..not purely so. Drake's scythe, a symbol of the battle won, of the death he brought to the enemies of the Alliance. And The Soul Reaver." Shea cast a glance to that sword. "Dark's sword, one he has taken many a life with, yet through those deaths Nosgoth was able to be made, to thrive. They are just tools, all bound with magic." Shea took Cadaria's hand and pressed it to Drake's chest right against that heart pendent that he wore. "It was your amulet that gave him the power to go forward." Shea looked to the heart shaped locket.
"Your love and everything you had gone through. All the pain of your past that pushed him forward. It was all of us. That helped him slay the evils. It may very well take an act by us all to wake him. But I think it will be you. Your love for him." Cadaria looked at Shea teary eyed. "I do not wish to loose him."
"Love can withstand death. Ask any here. Many of us have died and come back. Though magic and through love. There is not one among the allies who would not die for those they love. Drake is no different. It will take time, but he will come back. Both he and Willow will return to us." Shea rose to her feet. "You must eat, and rest. You can not do anything for him but be here, speak to him, read to him, sing to him. Love him and that may very well be all that is needed." Shea looked to Drake then to Cadaria .
Cadaria ate a bite or two. Shea looked to Drake. What the wind mage was about to do would be risky.
.....
It had been an hour ago that she had appeared before the castle . After she had laid down her plan to Victor, he had agreed. Though she knew he didn't like it. Shea had not been able to be in the battle, and doubted very much that her hand would have done any more to help the allies than it had as a healer.
She had laid Mina down and stood beside Victor to what their daughter sleep. She knew he wanted to come with her, to stand beside her as she tried to each Drake, to guide him to Willow. But she had framed his face with her hands and said. "My evening star, though your strenght would give me strenght. You know I must do this alone." She had kissed him then and walked down the hallway. She saw her son and Mila sleeping soundly, their children as well.
She vanished then and appeared in Nosgoth. It didn't surprise her that Darkmere opened the door to allow her inside. She could have entered the castle directly but it didn't seem right.
For an hour she sat in the lounge with Dark and Jade listening to what she had planned. "She needs to eat, and rest. I can not force her to do either. But if I can reach out to Drake, help him to find Willow. Both of them will return far sooner." Shea ran her fingers through her two toned hair. "It will not be a light under taking. I don't think Cadaria should be in the room while I reach for him. I hate to ask this of either of you. But if were to find them, and bring them back. This may be our only coarse."
Jade looked to Dark then back to the wind mage. Jade nodded softly, the mage had saved many lives as a healer in the battle. And Shea had saved Jade's life. "I can do it." Jade rose from Dark's side. Jade looked to the food that was ready to take up to the angel. Jade walked to the food, and knelt before the tall glass of water. And as an assassin would she dosed the water. "It will knock her out, she won't be happy."
Shea walked over and lifted the tray. "No. She won't be, but she can be mad at us both." Shea took the food up to the angel then.
.....
Now as Shea watched Cadaria pick at the food she looked to Drake's prone figure. Shea stood there as still as he was as Cadaria downed the water and finished off the food. As Shea went to take the tray Cadaria seemed to faint. The mage caught the tray and the angel. The tray floated the angel lay in her arms.
Jade walked in and took the floating tray. She likely could easily lift Cadaria and take her from the room. But that was a deed the lupine had talked in to her king. Dark walked in and lifted Cadaria easily. He would lay her in another room while Shea worked. Once Dark laid Cadaria on the bed in a spare room, he moved to stand in front of the door. To keep her from moving back to Drake's side, incase she woke. Where he would fill her in on just what Shea was doing.
Jade closed the door behind them both as they left Shea with the lifeless Drake.
Shea walked over and sat in the chair beside his bed. "I hope you forgive me. I would not normally do this. It is not my way to probe in to the minds of others." She took his hand in hers. "But if your there in the world between death and life searching for Willow, than I may be able to point you in the right direction. "
Shea closed her eyes and focused. A light breeze filled the room, swaying the drapes and blowing at her hair. She focused on Drake, on sending part of herself to him. The world between life and death was vast and wide it differed for every person. She knew where Willows spirit would go. Shea found herself standing, no floating in the very room Drake lay in. Then she felt her self being tugged out to the battle field. His spirit had been there but wasn't there now. Suddenly she floated just beyond the counsel house. She found him there, his aura, his spirit. "Drake."
She spoke her voice like the wind.
When he turned to look at her she saw the fear in his eyes then the slight understanding. "Willow would not linger here. If her spirit has moved on it would not be here. It would be taken to the Gorgamin woods in Crendia. She has died before, that would be the place her spirit would wander lost in time." Shea felt the tug of the wind behind her. But she paid it no mind. "If your searching for her it is there you must go. But go quickly. It is dangerous to linger in the world between life and death for too long."
Drake remained quiet as Shea spoke as he turned to face her, listening to the information she gave to him. He also took note that she was fighting to stay here as long as she could. Once she finished speaking he nodded lightly. "There is something I must ask of you. Tell Cadaria that once Willow is safely among us again. I will return. Another thing. Tell her and Ghallon to rest and spend time with family. I know it is hard for them both to see both Willow and myself like this, but they are only hurting themselves."
Drake watched as the wind mage nodded before he turned to head in the direction of the Gorgamin woods to continue his search there for Willow.
She felt the wind at her back, but she nodded lightly to the spirit of Drake. She would pass along that message to them both. She felt her self tugged back, back to the field of battle. She hoped he had heard her. She was wandering his mind now. The play by play of the battle. The wounds, the words.
Shea opened her eyes and gasped for air. Nearly falling from the chair she let go of Drake's hand. She had seen the whole fight from his view, the fury of it. The power. She had heard every word he, Luca and Ava had uttered. The wind in the room had risen and fallen and now was still. Shea looked to his prone form, "Find Willow, so you may return to your angel and ask that which you should have asked ages ago."
Shea rose to her feet and walked to the door. She made it two steps out in to the hall before she fainted. Jade was walking out of the girls room when she saw the mage stumble. "Shea!" The lupine shot forward and caught Shea as she fainted. "Dark!" Calling over her shoulder, causing Darkmere to come rushing out of the room Cadaria was in. Before scooping Shea up and moved to another room, with Jade opening the door for him. "I do hope she was able to reach Drake. For Cadaria and Ghallon's sake." He murmured to his wife as he laid Shea on the bed.
