Meet and Greet: Shea GreenStone
By JEWELL RAVENLOCK
On November 8th, I had the chance to sit down with one of RhyDin's newer citizens, Shea GreenStone. She wanted to tell her story to RhyDin, to help them get to know her better. I thought that this was a great idea how often to do you pass someone on the street, sit next to them at the bar, make idle conversation with them without really knowing who they are? I'm going to take RhyDin one citizen at a time, drawing this community together with knowledge of one another. First, it's Shea's turn.
JR: Okay Shea, why don't you just tell me a little about yourself for the introduction. Like, full name, species, natural hair color, relationship status.
SG: Shea GreenStone, Elf, natural color of hair, tis the color you see dark blue, and my relationship status is single but hopeful.
JR: Great! That should get our male readers interested. So what story would you like to share with me today, Shea?
SG: Depends, what would you like to hear about, I could tell you of my self some more, my purpose here in RhyDin, or of my homeland.
JR: Hmm... well you had mentioned earlier to me that you wanted the people of RhyDin to know more about you. So I guess we can start with where you're from and work from there?
SG: Well, I hail from the castle and keep of Greenstone, which is in the land far beyond the mountains, well hidden. Tis about a four days horse back ride from Rhydin City. My land is lush full of fields and farmlands, woods and ancient ruins.
JR: Sounds pretty nice, why'd you leave it all behind and come to the big city?
SG: For adventure, I hope to come to RhyDin again after a long time of being away, seeking to be more than just who I am at home, for in Greenstone and the surround I am high knight with my elder sister as queen and my younger sister as my second in command. I go where the winds will me to go and they willed me here.
JR: High Knight, that doesn't seem like too bad of a job. What do you think you'll find in RhyDin that's better than that?
SG: Well I came here seeking, to be more than just a knight, for at home my duty binds me, but here in RhyDin I can be more than just a knight?I can study my magic, meet new people. I have taken up a few jobs here in RhyDin to keep myself busy.
JR: More than a knight. People believe that in RhyDin, you can be anything you set your mind too. Is that how you feel?
SG: Aye, and perhaps I can help the people of RhyDin.
JR: Well they certainly need help! But what kind of help are you offering?
SG: I can offer my aide in many aspects: as a seasoned warrior I am more than willing to aide in any battle, or protect any whom may need it, as a mage I can offer healing and other aspects.
JR: Ahh?a defender of the helpless, perhaps? And a good healer can always be used. Is there any type of magic that is your specialty?
SG: Yes indeed, I am happy to help those who may need my aide, those here in RhyDin have already shown their caring ways to me, helping me with many tasks. Yes, I am an elemental, a wind elemental to be exact. So, the winds and air seem to be my area of special but I am skilled in Elven and other sorts of healing magics as well as other elementals. I have studied some things here in RhyDin, for the more I learn the better I may be able to aide
JR: So you just want to help people in general? That's very noble of you, you don't have any selfish ambitions?
SG: No selfish ambitions, I would seek nothing more than knowledge and friendship from those here in RhyDin.
JR: That's really admirable, Shea. There are very few people with such a pure heart around here. Now, you mentioned something about work, what have you been doing to keep yourself busy?
SG: Tis just who I am. I have been working as a tutor, and guard, apothecary and messenger, and now a sword for hire, if any shall need it, many things to keep my self busy.
JR: Seriously, that's a full load of work you got there! Hmmm, how about something personal that you'd like people to know, to help them understand you better.
SG: I also keep busy with a few things from my homeland, things my sister wishes me to do. I have two sisters one elder and one younger and a son.
JR: A son? How old is he?
SG: Aiden is fourteen by human standards in age.
JR: Oh really? We may have to set him up on a date with my eldest daughter! Hmm, describe yourself in five words for me.
SG: Five words hmmm, strong, intelligent, magical, mystical, and loving.
JR: I like that, mystical. Anything else that you'd like the people of RhyDin to know about you?
SG: I would merely like them to think of me as a possible friend and ally. And to know that my family and friends mean the very most to me, and also, that I am trustworthy with anything, when lives hang in the balance and when they need someone to talk to I will happily lend an ear.
JR: Well Shea, I certainly know that you're worth getting to know better and I'm sure the people of RhyDin will see that too!
SG: I do hope so. I have grown very fond of RhyDin, tis like another place to call home.
Many Thanks as always to Jewell and Those of the Oracle, though it is not about any more I shall always remember it.
