The Amulets of Avalon are five magical stones that were originally created to be given only to the Guardians of Avalon, a brotherhood of gifted warriors given access to the Holy Isle of Avalon without having to have an escort. All five stones were created by the very first Lady of the Lake. These amulets are indestructible, only separable from the owner by being gifted or by death, and are only able to be gifted by a priestess of Avalon or one of the Guardians themselves. When Avalon fell, there was only one Guardian left, and therefore only one person who could gift the stones to their next masters: the demon Lupinius.

Each Amulet is a teardrop of jet-black stone which glows a certain color in the center, giving it the appearance of having a flaw color in its heart. It is always fastened to its owner by silver. The colors are red, blue, dark violet, green, or gold.

The Amulets provide protection to the bearer, healing wounds and even regenerating most body parts should they become lost. Additionally, the amulet is designed to not only enhance the wearer's natural talents and abilities, but to sense which magical powers and/or abilities would be best suited to its bearer and grant them accordingly. The amulets also allow access to those places that are not open to those without the magical ability and/or training to pass through them (places that exist on a different plane, pocket dimensions, etc.). Finally, the amulet can conjure at a moment's notice nearly anything the wearer needs, from money to food to clothing - provided it is a need. Typically, the people given these amulets are the type who would not abuse such a power.

Another gift the Amulets bestow is that of greatly prolonged life, halting the aging process until the bearer decides to gift their Amulet to another person. This, along with the stone's incredible healing abilities, make the warrior wearing it nearly immortal, except for one weakness - if the bearer is wounded mortally above the neck, they will die. The healing process is also limited if the wound is not cleared of anything that is left in it, such as if one were stabbed by a knife and it is not removed. It can, however, cleanse any poisons that might be left behind, though the process can be slowed, depending on the strength and complexity of the poison in question.

Since the amulets do grant such amazing gifts on the bearer, they are typically gifted only to those that are pure of heart and purpose. Typically the Amulets choose their owners, based on an overwhelming dedication to the protection and aid of those who are in need of it.
