After spending some time with the Warrior Princess at the Stitch during Fashion Week(one of the orders that the Princess had received last week), Trinala had been hounding(not really) Rena to come with her here-or more like Rena would walk and Trinala would ride of her shoulder. After meeting up at the Inn, they exited the place and motivated towards the Stitch, conversing about dress colors and pixies wearing robes and other stuff. Rena had been asked what color dresses Trin would want but after seeing her in the red one, Rena told Lydia probably anything but red-but who knows around here, right?

Sidestepping the slush puddles from the melting snow and the moving around the piles of snow that had been shoveled, the unusual pair reached the building and paused in front of the door. Pulling her hand from her right pocket, Rena opened the door and headed inside, glancing around with the pixie on her shoulder. Not seeing Lydia or Erin, Rena went looking though the racks and shelfs of the items they sold, talking to Trinala every now and then. A couple of sweaters had been pulled out and thrown over her other shoulder and Rena kept rambling, waiting to spy Lydia since she was the one who knew they were coming.

Trinala remained her helpful self, asking Rena (yet again) about her date which should be happening.. pointing out how stupid males were... and suggesting a top that was a bit more snug. She also pondered about getting full-sized clothing for her larger form, but as nothing had been going well for her standing fix foot and an inch... she figured she'd keep to pixie sized clothing. But would new clothes break if she grew in them? She didn't know if her little red rag of a dress had some magics to it to keep it from staying small when she grew and if her new clothing was small when she was big she'd be a fairly naked pixie. All of these thoughts were stated out loud and without pause. fluttering from shoulder to head to other shoulder and back again as Rena looked about.

"Griffith, where's Carley?"

Pulling needles from his mouth to pin some cloth on place on the mannequin he circled around, Griffith turned towards the green haired elf standing at the entrance. "I assumed with you. You can't find her?"

Frowning, Lydia shook her head. "No. I asked her half an hour ago to get me a few skeins of yarn."

"Oh." There was a pointed look of dread on Griffith's face as he scratched his head. "I guess Erin's closet ate her then. You know, I haven't seen Erin in a while either..."

Snorting, Lydia shook her head. "Either way, I need her or my skeins. Or both. I'm going to look for her downstairs. You can look in the closet." She grinned to Griffith merrily as she turned on a heel, heading out. Pointed ears were oh so deaf to his objections.

Heading downstairs into the main shop area, pale blues darted about in search of Carley - or specifically a feather bouncing around in the small crowds of people gathered. Lips pursed a little when she didn't spot the elf she was looking for, but she did see another familiar blonde as well as a familiar pixie. Smiling, she waved that way. "Hey guys!" Continuing down the stairs, Lydia ambled towards the duo. "You're here about dresses, yeah?"

"Oh! Oh!" Trinala tugged on Rena's top, pointing to Lydia before flying over to the woman. "Yes! Yes! Is it a good time? I know you were busy with the Fashion Week stuff and Rena said we should wait but I didn't want to wait too long incause you forgot. And you haven't! So that is great! Cause I really need a new dress, but I'm worried. Cause I can grow big! And I don't want my new dress to be ruined if I do that in it. But I can't stay 'Big' for long... and I couldn't carry a dress around to change in and out of cause that would be difficult for me."

Fluttering back and forth, it was only through the grace of Rena that Trinala stopped talking.

Rena groaned at the pixie, as she did what she does best. A nod to Lydia as a shirt was added to the couple of sweaters Rena already had as Trin continued her tirade about missed dates, Fashion Week and growing big at times. Rena just kept looking as Trin moved the conversation on to the dress-or dresses-that was the real purpose of this trip. Rena glanced at Lydia with a look that said "I'm sorry" as they moved on to another rack.

When Trin finally finished Rena spoke up:"Maybe leave a dress at the Inn or something behind the bar in a box with your name on it? Or have someone put a spell on it or something." A glance at Lydia because Rena had no idea what to do in that case.

Pale blues swish swashed back and forth, following the pixie's erratic moments as she droned on and on. It was... rather reminiscent of Carley. So Lydia could sympathize with Rena's pain in that regard. Finally though, when the pixie grew quiet and Rena spoke up, her gaze shifted thataway. She was somewhat a loss herself however, as far as a solution was concerned.

"That could probably work... but I'm afraid I don't have any magic myself that could do that. And there's no fabric quite that stretchable." Lydia tilted her head in ponderance before regarding Rena curiously. "Tass is really good with all that magic stuff, yeah? Seems he'd know something, or he'd be able to put some sort of magic on the dress. And Chryrie changed my hair color once... She might could use magic to change stuff like that?"

Shrugging, she turned back to Trinala, smiling a touch. "Or.. if that doesn't work, you could try not getting big while wearing a dress you particularly like?"

TinyTrouble

"True! I could wear this dress if I wanted to get Big!" Tugging at the bottom hem of her red dress. "Mom made it for me and it seems to grow with me when I do. I don't recall her telling me I /could/ grow - but maybe she knew? Mom's like that, she knows a lot. I'd ask her... but.. uh... I don't know how to get back." Her energetic mood slipping as (for the first time) the fact that her sisters and herself were truly apart from the place they called home.

She moved to sit on Rena's head, deciding to focus on this and maybe talk to Aerinth about home later. Silver-green irises moving towards Lydia again. "What colors do you think my new dresses should be?"

"Well..." Lydia took a moment to glance over Trinala and ponder. The crimson hair sort of reminded her of a certain red headed witch that used to terrorize people. She always saw her in green, so she added that to the list of colors to not dress Trinala in. "What sort of colors do you like? Red would match your hair, but.. hm. I think purple could work too. A light purple.. like lilac."

Lips pursed, she tilted her head. "Blacks and silvers too, maybe. Black goes with just about anything really. And I think yellow would actually look really nice on you. It'd compliment your hair well." Pale blues shifted downwards from pixie to Rena.

"What do you think?"

Rena continued to shop, pulling a shirt from here and a sweater from there while listening to Trin and Lydia. That was until the pixie decided to use Rena's head a a resting place. Eyes rolled up like she could see the new hair decoration then shrugged, turning to face Lydia. "She already has a red one, even though a red/black mix wouldn't be too bad. But then I might just burn the red one since that seems to be the only one she wears", chuckling a bit.

At the moment, Rena had three sweaters and four shirts on her shoulders and moved on, looking for a simple black dress so she could tell Hodge that she had been searching. Whether the pixie and elf followed was unsure as Rena started rambling through the dress racks. A mutter under her breath as she was thinking after the dress she needed shoes and other stuff to go with it. "She'll need a blue one too", random thought thrown out there.

Nod, nod. Trinala smiled at all the ideas. Green was something she definately would not suggest as once she wore a green dress and one of the idiots at Knuckles had tied her up and used her as an ornament on their little tree because she looked so 'festive.'

"Black and silver and blue and yellow then! Can I have four dresses?" She wondered if that was too many... as she only had one at present. That number would grow by... quite a lot! She flew over to Lydia again, but stayed in the air near her, following her if she moved.

Grinning, Lydia nodded to the nearby pixie. "Four dresses it is!" She then took notice of all the stuff Rena was carrying around. "Oh, Rena, if you want you can go ahead and hang those near the counter so you're not stuck carrying them around. Rita can go ahead and start ringing it all up for you too."

Now it was time for the next step. Measurements! Though a tape measure wouldn't do for measuring Trinala, no. She was just too small for that. Lydia did have an idea for taking care of that though. "Alright.. I gotta get your measurements for your dresses. We can do that down here or upstairs - whichever you prefer. And then there's the matter of picking out what fabrics you like." Pale blues studied the small one curiously.

"Oh. Um... " The pixie glanced around in thought, not sure the difference it would make. Course... upstairs sounded interesting as she'd just bee down in this area with Rena and maybe there were more interesting things upstairs. It was decided "Upstairs!" She pointed upwards, flying a little higher. "And then I can pick out fabrics! And then you can make the dresses!" happy giggle.

A chuckle was heard from Rena at the excitement coming from Trinala about the new clothes she was getting. A nod to Lydia then a lean over to whisper in the green haired one ear "Make it seven and I'll pay for the other ones." Then watching the pair go upstairs Rena continued shopping, going through the rest of the racks. She did find a simple black dress through, so Hodge would be happy to hear that.

"Of course, and it shouldn't take nearly as long for yours as it does with.. ah.. Big People Dresses." Lydia chuckled then leaned to hear what Rena had to say. Seven? Hm. Already the green haired one was pondering a few color combination possibilities to surprise Trinala with.

Since Trinala seemed to be so eager, Lydia didn't waste much more time before she started to head on towards the stairs. "You're more than welcome to join us when you're done if you want!" Words were called to Rena before she ascended the stairs. Taking a left, she lead Trinala down the hallway past the dressing rooms and towards the fitting room. "This is usually where I take measurements, and we already have some swatch books up here. But if you can't find anything you like in those, I can have Carley dig out some more."

Door opened, she slipped inside and glanced around momentarily. "And I can't actually take your measurements with measuring tape." Trinala was simply too small. Taking up a spool of black thread, Lydia unraveled some of it and broke off three strands, offering them to the pixie. "Just use this and wrap it however snug you want around your bust, waist and hips. Then I can just measure the strings to get your measurements."

So excited was Trinala to almost be getting her dresses that she could hardly sit still. Of course, for those who knew the pixie, that wasn't saying much. She practically bounced on her tip-toes as she waited and listened too Lydia - then she set to like a cheetah on speed.

"I'll knot them so you know how long it should be!" She said as she set to doing so. Each string placed around her figure then knotted to show the appropiate length, finished with the task only a half-heart beat after finishing her sentence.

Swatches! Trinala zoomed about, declaring something "Very Pretty!" Or "Something better for Minya." By the time she had gone through all the swatches it seemed she was a fan of every color except for green and any shade if it was very pastel and prefered fabrics that were very soft and smooth.

Zipping back to Lyida, "What do you think??"

Lydia Loran

Lydia was moving quickly to try to keep up with the oh so quick Trinala. When the pixie had gone to look over some swatches Lydia took the strings she had tied off, quickly measured them and jotted down the numbers in a nearby book she kept measurements in so she'd not forget. Or get the dresses wrong.

That done, Lydia concentrated more on looking over swatches with Trinala, nodding where appropriate, and restraining laughter where appropriate as well. When all was said and done she peered to the pixie, glancing over her and then swatches that had been pointed out.

"I think most of these would look really great on you, yeah. I particularly like this yellow here-" A finger tapped on one of the swatches. "-and think it'd look nice with.. hm.. silver actually. That's a unique combination, but it'd work with you."

Moving back to the book of measurements she kept, Lydia already started sketching in some rough designs for dresses. "What types of dresses do you like best Trinala?" Pausing, she peered up at the little one.

"Dresses that I like?" Flying over to Lydia's shoulder - trying to get a peek at the drawing. Nod, nod, "I like.. um... fitted! Cause it's less likely to get snagged on something. And it can't be too short - 'cause Misfit Piper says it should be proper. And my wings! I have to be able to put it on without hurting them." Further nodding. "Ooo That's pretty!" pointing at the drawing and flying down to get a better look at it - maybe getting a bit in the way when doing so. Turning around at beaming up at Lydia, "You're very talented!"

Lydia Loran

Date: 2008-03-08 17:24 EST
Lydia couldn't help but chuckle a little at Trinala. Really, the sketches were quite crude. Her skills did not lie in artistry, but the sketches were enough to get some of her ideas across at least. "I know you don't mean I'm talented with this." She spoke as she tapped pen to paper, before setting the pen down. Hard to draw with a pixie obstructing her view, though she didn't mind.

Misfit Piper? She.. wouldn't ask. "And Piper's right. Especially if you're going to be flying around, you don't want it to be too short.. and I can see where it should be form fitting. Some material that stretches might be a good idea. And a couple low back dresses would be good for your wings. I can probably work up.. well.." She pursed her lips, having met a quandary...

"The dress would be too small for a zipper without it looking too big and gaudy on you. But you'll need something to secure it in the back around your wings, considering how you'll probably be putting it on..." Trailing off, Lydia took a moment to examine said wings. They were pretty. It vaguely reminded her of the time for Halloween she dressed as a sort of pixie/sylph. She even gave herself some faux wings, and she remembered they got in the way of everything, knocked things over, caused many accidents...

"A small eye and hook may do the trick. I just have to be careful how I place it so it won't scratch your skin. Velcro may even be an option..."

While the two were upstairs Rena decided to keep looking around, adding a couple of more shirts to the growing pile. Once done, she headed to the counter and ended up buying more than expected. A soft chuckle as the items were rang up and neatly folded to place in a couple of shopping bags-except for the simple black dress. When she saw it she had to have it-and it fell into what she was looking for and what Hodge had kept asking about. It was sleeveless with a deep V in the back that stopped a couple of inches above her waist. A circular neckline that would allow her to wear the necklace that Thea gave her, the dress flared out slightly with the hem stopping just below her knees. It was simple yet elegant at the same time-to Rena anyway. After it was placed in a dress bag, Rena paid for her items then left them behind the counter, not knowing how long Trin and Lydia would be upstairs.

It was turning out to be a better day than expected all around.

"Sounds perfect!" Trinala declared, not at all worried about the quandary that Lydia had bumped into nor thinking that Lydia was asking for her input - she wasn't a dress maker after all, just a hyperactive pixie.

"When do you think they'll be done?" Wings moving at her back in her excitement, she was looking up at Lydia eagerly.

Thoughts and problems were shaken out of her head before Lydia turned to face the pixie again. "Mm, I'm not sure exactly. It shouldn't take nearly as long as a bunch of normal sized dresses would." Then again, there were some fine details to take care of, not to mention the extra dresses Rena was covering. And the work load and commissions she had taken on before this and.. geez, just so many factors.

"A week and a half at best. Two and a half weeks at worst.. somewhere in that range." She frowned somewhat, at giving such a tentative schedule. "You can check back from time to time though if you want, to pick up the finished ones. It's not like you'd have to wait for them *all* to be done." Pencil taken back in hand, she started writing a few notes down, lest she forget some ideas and important detail later. "Or I can have them delivered somewhere. It's your choice Trinala."
