In certain places there exist places that, to put it in a figurative way, exist just beneath (or above, or to the side) of the world we know. Common terms exist for such places - alternate realms, pocket dimensions, portholes, and the like. Whatever you call it, it is a place that exists just outside the normal world that we can see, and they can be accessed in a variety of ways, the most common of which is the ever-classic portal, the prescence of which can be indicated in a number of different ways. These places can be placed into one of two types - those that are naturally occurring, and those that are created.

One of these places is a lair called the Guardians' Chamber.

The Guardians' Chamber is a naturally occurring 'pocket dimension,' accessed by portals which are hidden in patches of thick, stationary walls of fog, perhaps six to eight feet tall, about ten to fifteen feet wide, that cannot be disturbed by wind or any other force. There are several entities, of course that are quite a bit larger than these patches, but that doesn't matter - anyone of any size who enters them will instantly find they have been surrounded by fog. They can get out, of course - all it takes is actually wanting to get out and you will be able to find your way. The portals themselves are held within the Seal of the Guardian, a seal that looks like it is carved directly into the ground within the patches of fog, which is a pentacle entwined with a crescent moon in a circle. The tips of the pentacle are marked with one of five stones - purple, gold, red, green, or blue. They have no fixed size - their size is dependant upon the person looking for it, though they won't be smaller than two and a half feet across. It looks like this:

The portals within these fog patches can be accessed by anyone with the knowledge of them and sufficient magical ability and knowledge, but the chamber itself does have significant protection around and within it. The first layer of protection is a simple ward specifically designed to repel any infernal or unholy entities that may be trying to access the Chamber. The second is designed to stop anyone with evil intent aimed towards the Guardians or any of their allies. The third layer is designed to admit only the Guardians or their allies, and can be altered by any of the Guardians themselves to admit anyone they so choose. And the final layer of protection is the Chamber itself, which is holy, consecrated ground where no evil being may set foot. Those that do manage to break through the other wards are subjected to terrible, agonizing pain and are immediately enveloped in holy flames until they are either consumed or leave the chamber.

The sole exception to all this protection is any of the chosen Guardians - as long as they wear their amulets they are allowed to access the Chamber without suffering any ill effects whatsoever.

The Chamber itself is a pentagonal, underground chamber hewn out of solid rock. Each of the walls contains an archway, through which the Guardians (or anyone else able to access the Chamber) can access one of the five portals scattered around RhyDin. The locations are:

1. In the forest due southwest of the Dark Towers.

2. In the middle of WestEnd, just east of the Thompson Apartments.

3. The site of an old ruin between the Temple of the Gods and the Temple of Divine Light.

4. Just outside of the Ravensheart Academy grounds to the north.

5. On the rocky stretch of shoreline due southeast of the Scathachian Sanctuary.

Also in the chamber, along each wall, are a variety of items, all suitable for waging war - axes, knives, swords, bows and arrows, shields, suits of armor, helms, and other assorted martial tools. What's more, the items in each section of this room seem to be customized for each of the Guardians individually. These are all magical items, imbued with and blessed by the holiness of this place. Additionally, should it be required, this room can create any needed item for any person that enters it, provided it meets two conditions: It is a needed item, and the intent of the person requiring it is pure and good.

And in the middle of all this is a simple, large, round table, made of polished, dark oak and, carved into its surface, a pentacle whose points touch each place which has a seat, the oldest symbol of protection there is.
