Red showed up on the farm rather late. It was Cinder's fault; he never informed her that he had gone to the countryside to rest. He looked at the letter he had written her and smiled.

She bucked the snow from her boots and looked around the countryside. When she was younger she shared many times here with Cinder and Kristae. Already autumn gave into the will of winter. A light patch of snow dotted the land.

"Is He in there, cat"?

Delliah just passing by her from the door, she looked at her and nodded.

"Oh, he is in there, you?re late. I wouldn't upset him like you normally do". Delliah breathed heavily a smile on her face, her element had come full circle once more, the cold air and signs of a light snow was all it took for her to feel complete.

"How is he"? Rewa sat on the steps of the porch beside the large white cat. She tucked her hands into her coat setting the bottle of wine beside her.

Delliah nodded. "Fine, he's much better..Finally gave into my requests and paid visit to a doctor. The elven flu is hard on older elves, if he was less careless we could have lost him".

Rewa patted her affectionately. "Have any deer meat in stores in the house"?

Delliah nodded. "Help yourself".

Rewa smiled and headed on inside with the bottle of Red.

He turned around and smiled to Rewa, he was bundled up in a thick blanket beside the window still watching the birdfeeder. He was lucky earlier a rare stunted wren came to feed. No squirrels however.

"Rewa, where have you been it's been two days"?

Propping himself up some more he gave her some room on the couch at his feet. He blew his nose and wiped a few morning tears from his eyes. He hadn?t gotten much sleep but was getting better.

Rewa sat politely; she didn?t even make a wisecrack at him for being in such a sickly shape.

"I had a few troubles on my way, besides I brought you some wine". She placed the bottle on the coffee table and immediately got up to fetch two glasses.

"Delliah says you have some venison left, may I fix you something to eat?" She noted the tree decorated in funny ornaments and a slight smile appeared on her face as she looked to the elf, almost sorry for him.

"Sounds good Red, by the way. What happened the day you left Midgar? I never had the chance to ask, but it's strange you?d come back to Rhy?Din after all this time"?

He was already gazing out the window once more. His ravens returned every now and then but hardly stayed. Delliah made her rounds in the fields in the distance, already the townsfolk had gotten used to her once more, and she loved helping them out with pests such as deer and bears.

In the kitchen she opened his fridge, in fact Delliah must have been busy perhaps Cinder too on his good days. The fridge was well stocked with meats, Venison, Turkey and Wild Boar. She picked up some venison and some cabbage taking them for the fry. She sliced up the meat and cabbage and added some pepper and butter and closed the lid. She returned with two glasses and sat on the couch beside him.

"Lingonberry blended with Blueberry...makes a fine Red". She smiled pouring him and herself a glass.

"Aye, but for breakfast, it's a bit much no"?

"Come now that isn't like you. By the way have you heard any more of your friend the convicted one"?

He sipped his wine and watched a few sparrows make off with some seeds.

"Yeah, Delliah told me the other night when I woke up, he is back in holding. I can?t say I am glad or upset; it's hard to understand these types of situations. She didn't mention much about the court hearing but nothing really".

She nodded, patting his leg gently.

"How's the married life"?

Cindered deliberately ignored her question, he took a sip of the wine and stared out the window.

"It should be done soon, let me get your plate ready".

She returned to the couch and handed him a plate, their hands touched as the exchanged ceramic, she smiled at him but it wasn?t returned. She took her seat on the other end.

"Why did I return? I could tell you why but it's complicated. There's more to it than taking up business here and meeting with old friends".

She sipped her wine avoiding his face. He wasn't eating the food, which bothered her, but she remained calm.

"I thought you wanted me. I mean I thought you sent me this letter; do you still plan to go on with this game? Does anyone have a clue as to what you are planning to do"?

Cinder sighed some taking the utensil in his hand he took a bite of the venison. It was good, moist full of flavor still raw in patches with left flavor to soak into. He didn?t say much a slight smile on his face, the sunlight through the window shined on him. She wanted to kiss him be held herself, she turned away.

"Rewa, do you remember when we were all young"? He turned to her holding her hand, as she was about to stand.
"You're golden, just like then".

Red took another sip of the wine biting her lip through the glass, which made her smile, a bloodlet drip from her lips.

"You are golden too Cinder". She patted him on the leg under the covers. "Get some rest, were leaving this place. You don't need to worry about the schedule". She stood and kissed him on the lips, her blood on his lips. She knew...

The snow proved itself worthless after a few attempts of rolling around the thin layer gave way to the tilled lands from about a week ago. All the townsfolks children had gone inside to their homes, to their mothers and fathers.

Delliah returned to the old home, her coat patched with mud and wet.

She passed by Kristae's stone and licked the few flakes clinging to it and rested her head for a moment. Under the whisker her mouth was exposed and a smiled appeared. She saw him staring at her through the window, he waved at her. "Kristae.....mom..we miss you".

Cinder tapped at the glass as Delliah passed by to head on inside, she ignored it, after a few moments she caught a glimpse of black swarm of ravens appear at the bird feeder carrying off two squirrels. Sure enough it was his doing.

"Somebody is feeling better"? She shook her head after seeing Cinder's grin from the couch and out the window.

"You should play fair and let the squirrels eat them seeds ya know".

"Oh? What about you miss"?

"What about me"?

"Who is it that chases off bears and kills the deer for the farmers"?

"That's different, im doing a service to the community".

"What is this, I leave for a few moments and you two start arguing"? Rewa returned in a soft flannel robe and slippers, she added some wood to the fireplace and sat beside Cinder.

Delliah rolled her eyes and went upstairs. "Whatever".

"I really think I should stay here Delliah and me, for a while longer, till the holiday is over, I know it would mean alot to her if we stayed here. She loves this time of year and I still need to rest. I'm not all that better. You are more than welcome to stay there are plenty of rooms".

She looked at the empty wine glasses. "I returned to Rhy'Din because you did".

He stood outside the porch the next day unchanged from his sickness but still determined as ever to go on this quest. Sipping his coffee, one foot on the first step he watched the cold day progress. Cinder in his age had grown to become a very troubled soul, he never wanted fortune or misery he just wanted to slip by unnoticed.

?Cinder?? From an earshot away, poking her head out from the door. Delliah nuzzled up to him.

? I was just coming inside?.

He returned to the living room with a soiled gait as if his heart was stricken with the unfortunate gift of being broken. ?I?m going to take a bath?. He calming stood halfway just as he was about to seat himself, Delliah and Rewa looked to him worried as if something in his mind changed overnight.

He climbed the second floor, and headed into the bathroom. On the cold white and green vine tiles he parted with his clothes. The elf stood naked turning the bath on then moving to the sink he looked at himself into the mirror, he tried a smile but it made him feel worse.
He light a few candles and soaked up their yellow gold glow, he placed them in stained red glass holders Kristae had made years and years before. Taking a seat on the toilet he closed both lids so the cold porcelain wouldn?t startled his buttocks. Until the stream of hot water was perfected he continued to think about life and his journey.

A knock on the door took him away from his thoughts.
?Cinder? Are you alright??

It was Rewa and last thing he wanted was to talk with anyone, he needed to be alone with his thoughts.

?I?m fine, just taking a hot bath, my throat hurts a little is all?. Which in truth was bothering him but he felt at ease being alone. Perhaps it was all he needed anymore. He wished for some fine Syrah red with some Dutch chocolates, and perhaps a good smoke, how he thought he sounded like a woman obsessing over the indulgence of a delight. He didn?t want anything at the moment only to continue his quest.

He climbed into his bed of warm water and dropped a few infusion beads to help calm him down. It had been almost two months since he had left the Salvage yards, he missed his work and wished he never intended on going to Lemuira. It was too late, once the wheels started rolling there was little he could do to stop his desire.
He rubbed some gel from a tube onto his chest and throat. Submerging himself under the hot water for a while should help him out, where some elves couldn?t go near water or hold their breath he could at least remain there for hours even some had no trouble wherever they chose to domain.

Rewa remained outside the bathroom for a few moments then saddened she returned downstairs to Delliah and the warm sunset from the hearth. ?He is getting better, right??

Delliah smiled some from her napping where Cinder normally was resting prior to getting up. ?This is the first time he had gotten up other than to go do you know what?.

She smiled after being re assured from the large white cat. Gazing over to the fine blue spruce, which was sparse in decoration, she turned to Delliah once more. ?You two celebrate Kommen still??

?Well I do, he just plays along, and I doubt he?d bother if I was around?. Delliah closed her eyes again.

Red smiled once again and looked to the tree, she figured why not, if she was here and had to wait for him why not? ?It?s settled I'm spending the holidays with you two?.

((Side note: this must be posted here since Cinder is still sick and is very much in need of rest. I cannot change the previous SL with a new one till the older is completed when Cinder is no longer sick, thanks))

Sitting up in the couch as he had for many days and nights Cinder decided to go for a walk. He was feeling better but still his cough could prove him wrong.

Delliah was sound asleep beside the glowing embers in the hearth and Rewa opted for the guest room upstairs on the third floor.

Silently he worked himself to the door and buttoned his wool coat, he then affix his weather mask to double the warmth on his neck and face. Surely one couldn?t ask him to dress any warmer as he had now.

"Safe". He said as he closed the door behind him and padded down the path to the town down the way. It was a light snow already on the ground and yet the sky yielded more. A few flakes adjusted themselves to his face as he blinked them away.

Mostly everyone was asleep the place had a certain mystery at night; the holiday lights in peoples windows blinked and gazed outside with such a glow. He enjoyed it but had no heart for such a silly time, still he went along it pleased Delliah and it was his only job he never failed at doing.

He skipped the last building to stare at its display and headed off into the woods. He sipped on some blood of some kind in a neat ornate bottle etched with his title. ~The Fox from Sola~. He wandered past a few trees till he neared the heart of everything. The world darkened and turned to a disoriented hue as he caught the scent of another blood, it made his hunger thirst, then he caught the notes and aroma of one very dear, his wife.

He ran past a thicket of brambles and leaped over the hedge and scraped his leg in the process. There in view near a tree favoring her right side, the demoness, and his wife. "Sarah"! He headed near her but she growl with ferocity. He backed off from her swing with her clawed hand. He frowned unsure as to why she was hostile towards him.

Only meaning to help he approached her once more and offered some Angel's blood from his bottle. With that the demoness grew into a fiercer rage; her eyes burned red. Accusing him of an attempt to poison her with that offer, he drank some of it himself. In that instant he was truly saddened as she lunged at him and tore through his coat, his left shoulder embossed in his own blood. Her claws drew back carry off his blood. Tainted, as it was he didn?t wish to loose any not by her. One he swore an oath to love. He backed off breathing heavy into his mask, he was too ill to fight her or reason with her. The elf walked away; at least he could do that.

Deftly folding him within the shadow of the night he vanished as if he was but an illusion to her, a few ravens circled her. They cawed and keed as they perched themselves watching her, staring at the red on white.

The time spent here was winding down, and although she couldn't bring herself to ask what had happened that one night she knew.

"Thank you for lunch". She set aside the plate and finished up her coffee. She stared at him for several moments but he remained still on the couch staring at the birdfeed and beyond to the woods.

"I will be going back to the city to fetch a few things, would you care for anything"?

Cinder reached for the cord and pulled it, the blinds fell to the window base and he turned on the ornate lamp beside the nightstand. He smiled at her for a moment picking up his tea.

"Check on the Salvage Yard for me. Tell Bessie to prepare the seasong for deaprture. If you see something in the market I'd be interested in pick it up for me". He charmed, folding his robes over himself. He was getting better but something was hidden beneath that exterior.

"Sure". She canted her head after putting on her coat and scarf. "I don't suppose I can get you anything, Delliah"?

The white cat had remain quite silent for days ever since the elf had returned that one night from the cold. She sighed and looked to Cinder wh owas already going over maps and diagrams of the lost city. "No, I'm fine. Just wish the snow remained...".

Rewa stepped outside and shook her head. "Washed away, thats what you're trying to do to yourself Cinder".

He dropped the last crumbs of bread into the pond outside the farmhouse. Large reeds bent from the melted snow swayed in dischord fro mthe unsettled wind. The gallant ducks, freckled with hues of purples and earth notes played and fed on the waters below. He smiled soflty folding his winters robe, he turned to the farmhouse and headed inside.

It wasnt a while till he absorbed himself once more into the documents and illegible manuscripts of Lemuria. Returning inside the farmhouse. Housed by his past he hid from everyone he opened himself up like a bottle of wine much like a Lomres red, 1234.
He unfolded his accounts of mysteries and added his own take onto Lemuria and it's secrets. He sketched out a series of diagrams based loosely on the descriptions provided by a previous scholar. Pulling out a small crfty leather bound book with worn edges. "Historical Profiles, by Cinder Shirastan". He had a reserved page marked by a torn black and white photo a hand and a tea kettle. He began to write brefily.

"My research goes without failure. I have already decoded the last part of text into the sanctum lannicullis. A series of chapters on structures and times that tested the kings of old dynasty. Set in stone tablets the riddles that tested scholars of their time. Forces unknown draw me into that labyrinth. I shall call this trial that awaits me death.
"

Cinder poured some of that very wine into a decorative glass, it glowed from the amber fire when he stared through it, which Delliah sat soundly at. From time to time she glanced at him and then her tree which so proudly she dragged intot the home and forced him to decorate. He pushed back the chair at the desk, taking up his wine he sat by her side and petted her behind the ears. He placed a few slices of walnut bread onto the metal grid to warm by the hearth.

"Do you think it's wise to tempt fate"? She gazed up to him with her icy eyes.

"No but it is wise for fate to tempt us, otherwise fate has no place in the world. What of men, women, scholars, kings, if fate has not urged them on to their goal in life or oblivion"? He drank quietly and offered her a slice of bread as stared into her mixed coat of whites.

"It's not long and we will have snow for a few months, im sorry it didn't last as long as you would have wished for". He kissed her head gently and rubbed her tough neck with affection. "There isnt much left for us here im afraid, on RhyDin. The snow stays longer back home".

Rewa had just returned from the steady and jubilant pace of the city, this time of year she was more than glad to set foot into the rural back lands of Rhy'Din. The Mirue province was only gladly to oblige, from what she had grown accustom to with Kristae and of Cinder in the years ago this place was a central hub for all things organic and pure. From it's produce which traveled to the city to duel with barters in the markets and to the wines and independent beers which stocked the shelves of taverns and such.

She watched for several hours at her old friend, Kristae. Her grave was well looked after by somebody, she knew who. She picked on of them up. The heads of sunflowers which were placed at the base of the stone and the scent of incense that had been spent but still present in the earth.

"I hope he knows what he is doing Kristae".

Plucking a few seeds from the pod, she wondered about him, wondered if she could have him. Opening a few of the seeds she paused then ate them. Despite the cold weather she felt warm, even if she was a vampire she felt a warmth when around the elf.

She turned and gazed up at the bellowing farm which stood in the distance and saw him sitting on the gazebo perched above the pond.

"Him and those ducks".

She smiled some to herself then turned back into town, deciding on a drink at the local pub.
