Cinder sat in his quest quarters on Rewa's ship at the scroll desk a modern pen in his hand staring at old blank parchment. The dim lanterns would have made any normal person frustrated to see. A bottle of wine and a cup of coffe rested beside him both spent as was a small plate with crumbs on it, perhaps some cookies or bread? Various documents all penned by him stamped with the trademark seahorse and Ghrim rune. He had used the small bed for charts and a leather map that outlined the world as he knew it. Lemuria his obession was the newest additon as it had burned into the old leather making the rest seem so dull.

He smiled lightly at the moon, it was perfect and beautiful on the sea. He stirred the mug in his hand and sighed, setting it down he returned to the empty parchment before him.

A few days have now passed that I have left Delliah on the port in Avalon, even longer it seems I have left that forsaken land. She was persistant in keeping me from my task. Rewa suggested she stay behind. Perhaps it's for the best. I am uncertain of my return from this quest, she shouldn't have to bare witness to these trials.

I think that heathen holiday must be over by now I'm sure there was another one they celebrated at least I dont understand their calendar perfectly I never have. The large cat brought me a gift even though I hadn't gotten her one. Nice new desk lamp, shame I haven't gotten electric running on this shi or I would have used it. The office at the yards could use a new one, darn thing doesnt work right. Rewa even shared with us some of her french holiday cooking. I never had roasted qauil so succulent before. Her songs from home were beautiful. I was fortunate enough to know a litte french to pick out some of the words.

The three of us visted Kristae's grave before we left I placed a few sunflowers on her stone, delliah a wreath with a simple red bow.

We should be reaching the drop off point by tomorrow. I have ensured that the vessel will work the best it can. In it's trial run I managed to travel to great depths before resurfacing. I am not certain by was measures but I am certai nthat everything will work perfectly.

I pray I find thes quest sucessful.

He set the letter aside and folded into an envelope, Sealing it and placing a stamp on the corner. Marked only for the recipeint, Cinder Shirastan. Placing it itno the empty bottle of wine he corked it and sealed the end with some wax. He took a stroll dockside with the bottle in hand and leaned across the railing. A few of Rewa's crew were watching him with curiosity. Perhaps they never saw an elf in their lifetime or perhaps never one so peculiar looking. Perhaps it was the fact it was late and even the Vampire had retired for the night.

"au revoir ? , moi-m?me , moi schiste trouvaille vous ? nouveau"!

He tossed the bottle as hard as he could out into the pitch of the night, he turned away and nodded to the men after he heard it's splash in the distance.

"Bonne nuit".

"Bonne nuit, Monsieur Shirastan".

He bowed and returned back into his quarters. He wished he had more time than this.

He drifted amidst the waves of the mother, aboard the Naglfar Cinder had only the slightest notion to continue. Continue on an unfinished quest, he was unsure of many things in his mind these days.

Drunk and full of dreams he lay down on the deck with his eyes up at the seas across the stars. His mind was putty in hands of an imaginary sculptor of imaginary clouds.

He coughed sitting up clenching tight to his bottle of wine and staggered upward only to fall flat back on his arse. Closing his eyes with a sigh as he opened them once more, he gazed at the sails still in the night, the cold air pressed around him. The amber glow filled the polished deck and tanned sails. He smiled but for a second thinking of Rewa kissing those lips once more. He chuckled as he turned into Jennifer and her met with the bottle to her lips.

"Hello Moon".

The elf passed out, spilling the rest of the wine as it rolled into a few other empty bottles.

"You said it was forever, you said it was our future. holding hands on the steps of our home.

Now look at us your head is at a stone and here I am alone.

Staring into sunsets looking out at the stars skies. Don't cry in front of me. I drink myself to keep the ghost of you away. Living in the wastelands of your memory keeps me safe.

Theres a dream when I wake up, I take it back then".

Cinder gave up figuring out his life long ago. Hold on till tomorrow he thought, something may prove useful.

"How much longer"?

Rewa

For once, for once in life I felt that someone needed me
And if it turns out real
Then love can turn the wheel

Rewa Sighed looking at the photo of Jen, she smiled some thinking of what that elf was up to. She missed the elf even if it was the human form she had adored.

She wrapped herself up in a blanket and walk out of her room onto the balcony and smiled looking at the night sky. A restless wind blew across the northern shores. The night sky was breathtaking as always but it was missing something she thought She hadn't feed on the blood of the living sincethey parted and she wondered how long must she wait for the return of her true love.

Coming back inside she closed the door softly and sat at her desk looking at the last letter from him and the strange device that looked much like a compass.

Rewa

"How long has it been two, three months? What is this that bids us farewell each time? Is there a chance"?

Rewa sighed looking out of the window at Cinder's desk. The night air was refreshing; it smelled of the salty coast and deep woods. She could have stared out that window all night had she not just arrived.
She headed out from the bedroom and paused in the doorway looking at the one sealed across from his. She was a complete mystery other than he had a sister and one morning when Cinder awoke she was gone. Sessunas room, he never talked about her to her or to Kristae. She turned down the hallway and smiled at the pictures on the walls she was fortunate to be in a few with him and Kirsate, there were hardly any new photos but some of the people were familiar even if she never met them, Cinder spoke of them.
Heading to the bathroom she turned the switch on from the giant frosted globe and smiled at the ornamental octopus soap dispenser. She splashed some water on her face and used the toilet. Facind the magazine rack she couldn?t help but be nosey, they were all dated back a year ago.

?God, look at all these magazines nothing but fishing..oh what?s this??

She smiled looking at the housewives monthly and started to giggle. ?I?m guessing he buys it for the recepies and the crosswords?.

She thought it was silly to be here, but she didn't have anywhere else to go now. She used up her stay at the hotel and Vic?te was not to be found, not that she wanted the amateur adventurer tagging along. She finished up, flushed and washed her hands with some of that homemade soap Cinder had made, it smelled like lemon juice. Still she found the octopus dispenser too cute. She hadn't aged looking into the mirror; perhaps she looked younger than Cinder now, younger than Jennifer.

She walked into the living room and curled up on the couch besides one of the kittens. She picked it up and nuzzled its nose to hers. Delliah had been keeping her children here on Plygrethia and awaiting Cinder to return. She didn't doubt him but still she was the most worried.

"So, when did you get back"? The large white cat grinned setting two of her cubs down, licking them clean she then plopped herself beside Rewa.

"Just now".

"Really, are you hungry"?

"I'm a vampire, I'm always hungry, but no, I'll eat later. How are the kids doing"?

Delliah lifted her large paw and picked her teeth with a precise and deadly claw. "Oh they are fine, little monsters, they may be adorable but take care of them for a few weeks and see how you do. Taking care of them is chore but I love them, being a mother is tough work, I doubt any man could do it. Though I am certain their father would have been good with them had he had the chance? Cinder he was good to me when I was their age, he and Kristae".

"Oh, Lord Fenris right? He wanted me to tell you something".

Delliah paused grooming herself and nodded.

"He said he is sorry for having to go but you made him happy, he was so proud to know the children were born alright".

Delliah smiled down at her children and to the one Delliah was cuddling. Rewa thought she might actually be blushing under that fur but wasn't sure. She crawled off the couch and headed outside.

"Thank you Rewa".

"Thank you for what? Where are you going"?

"I just need to be by myself for a bit, since you?re here you can look after the kids. It's been a long time since I have hunted for food for myself I'm starving. Don't worry Cin will show up again someday".

The back door opened and shut softly, Rewa was left with the sleeping kittens or were they wolves? They kind of looked like a mix between a polar cat and wolf. She sighed and turned over setting the little guy down beside his brothers and sisters.

"I hope she is right, though someday sounds like forever, my compass he gave me is broken it doesn?t work at all. What am I doing here anyways, I'm not a babysitter".

She smiled though as she watched the little animals, she wasn?t lonely. She headed to the fridge and fixed herself a snack, there wasn't much left but she managed to find one of Cinder's Deer's Blood Bottles he used for soup, it was cold and quite refreshing even with the lumps of deer meat. She licked her lips, it was nice and cold. She tossed the bottle in the sink and sat back down watching the children.

Rewa

Date: 2008-09-07 04:35 EST
Rewa awoke and pulled the velvet blue covers from her, she sat up on the well worn couch as the sun filtered through the bamboo curtains. A little cub rolled off her chest as she stretched to yawn, she hadn?t realized one crawled on her. It wasn?t morning but noon time and it was getting quite chilly here she thought. She yawned once more and the cub yawned as well. It licked itself for a few moments and then looked up at her with its wondrous dark eyes. She smiled at the little cub with black soft fur and white streaked marks at its feet and pet it gently.

?You are too cute?. She closed her eyes for a moment then opened them.
"Where is your mommy"?

Looking around the living room the other cubs have gone, Rewa stood and went into the kitchen with the cub, she set it down inside the sink so he would not get into anything.

"Delliah must have taken them outside to play".

She fixed herself a snack, there wasn?t much of anything since Cinder hadn?t been here for several months, she found only some more deer blood, and what appeared to be a really old octopus. It wasn?t properly covered and its juices had drained out onto the lower shelf. She wished she had gotten to it sooner so she could make some Takoyaki. She quickly closed the fridge door and scooped up the little guy in her hands, propping him up on her shoulder. The little kitten clung to her and balanced himself so he could stretch out his neck, his tail constantly beating her back as she stepped.

They headed outside and saw Delliah resting in the shade of one of the apple trees, the kitten quickly leapt off Rewa and ran over to her to say hello.

?Well hello, did you have a nice nap with aunty Red?? She licked the face and the kitten meowed softly and joined the other kittens getting milk from their mother.

Rewa smiled and looked at the apple tree, she plucked a nice reddish pink apple from its branches and sat on the bench near the pond. ?I?m sorry he must have crawled under the covers?.

?Its fine, that one seems to wake up when he wants to, much like a certain 'Elf' we know. I guess he decided to sleep with you since you were still sleeping. I hope he wasn?t a bother?.

?Oh no, really, it was no trouble at all.. Your children are adorable?. She bit into the apple, so sweet and tart; she always did love Plygrethian Apples. ?Hey, Delliah??

?Yes??

?You said that Cinder will return someday, I just..Do you think he managed to find his friend Renne??

?Well someday, and yes I am sure he did. He always finds his friends as for the rest of it I?m sorry Red, I know as much as you do. I know he will return, I know once he is done with what he needs to do or whatever he always returns here. He then usually returns to the grave to put new sunflowers on the stone for her. When he does he will have to apologize to the both of us?.
She smiled as she stood then walked over to the Pond and looked at the still waters. Cinder used to feed the ducks that visited the pond every year as they migrated, it?s been a long time since he has done that she thought.

?I know he is no saint but he does have a heart, he cares about us deeply, you know that. I just wish he would ask for help once in his life. Rewa?. do you like Cinder as himself or when he is in a human form as the Lady Jennifer??

Rewa finished the apple and tossed it over her shoulder. She smiled bending down to pick up the kitten which crawled up her leg, she pet it softly and kissed its round pink nose. She giggled as it yawned with its big eyes squinting, she cradled him gently and it decided to go rest in her arms. Delliah was pleased, she was happy to be on good terms with Red, they used to not get along so well. The years have a softening effect on people, Rewa especially.

?I really cannot say, I Love Cinder he is a great friend, and I admit I was jealous to learn he had married the demon Sarah, but now that is over. I knew he could look human but I never knew really until that one night I saw him do it; I kind of reinvented my love for him through her. Cinder is the same person under that skin yet there is something else as if there is a whole separate story for Jennifer....he is a mystery even with all the time I have had to know him. I?m sorry he just crawled up on me, is this okay??

?Yes, its fine Rewa. You know, you wouldn?t have made a bad mother yourself?.

?Oh no, not me, I couldn?t stand being around a baby all day changing its diapers and listening to it holler; besides?I am a vampire"!

She paused looking away from the giant cat, she was cursed she would never know motherhood, growing old with someone or true happiness. ?Perhaps when I was human, when I was a little girl I dreamt of being one, getting married having a child, not as I grew older, not now?. She looked down at the cub and watched it sleep in her lap.

Delliah could tell when Rewa was lying, she felt sorry, she knew she still felt the same way, she could not understand what it must be like to be unable to have a child and live forever feeling a part of you had died. She realized this too was true for Cinder yet in a different way. ?Are you hungry Rewa??

?Actually, I am Cinder doesn?t really keep things stored well here does he?? She giggled.

?Yeah that?s true, then again nothing is better than freshly killed, come on, I have a deer I killed this morning when I stepped out?.

?Umm I think I?ll pass, even though I am a vampire I don?t do the whole freshly killed eight hours ago meat thing?.

?Suit yourself, if you are interested there is a buck in this woods I have had my eyes on yet I cannot catch up to him, or you could go try your luck with one of Cinder?s fishing poles?.

?It sounds good to me. I like a challenge. If Delliah Shirastan cannot catch a simple deer, who could??

?I wouldn?t go that far, I mean I have children to look after I cannot stay to far from them, besides I know you have that rifle in the house, if I had pose able thumbs I could do the same things as you, don?t you know.?

?Right, okay then I?ll see you sometime later Delliah, bye kitties?.

Rewa headed back inside to Cinder?s room to fetch her ?Cherie? it was an old rifle that was hard to get bullets for yet she managed to forge them herself and with help of Merek an old friend of both Cinder?s and Hers. She smiled for a moment looking at a picture of Cinder in his human form feeding her cotton candy beside the carousel. She remembered that carnival as if it were yesterday.

?I miss you Cinder". Her heart did feel.
