The Jaffa.
You might be familiar with the word and the race from Stargate SG-1 and there are definite inspirations from the aforementioned science fiction series. However, these Jaffa are not your Stargate Jaffa.
You won't find Goa'uld, Toc'ra or even any Stargates in the upcoming series, introduced in Dark of the Moon. In fact, the only things that are borrowed from Stargate SG-1 are the word "Jaffa" and how these Jaffa look regarding dress and armour. Other than that, these guys are not related to the series.
Even so, there is no claim made on Stargate SG-1 or any of its spinoffs. Anything Stargate related belongs to its creators. Everything else belongs to myself and the mun of players that participate.
So, what are the Jaffa, if not the Stargate Jaffa?
As of this point, they are only known to be armoured humanoids with one single objective: Acquire as many people labeled as "Surplus" and bring them to their superior. In the minds of these Jaffa, there are two types of people: Jaffa and Surplus. If one identifies as Jaffa, then one is understood to have a place in society. A business, connections, family relations or social influence.
If labeled as Surplus, simply put, you are expendable and meaningless to society at large. This is who the Jaffa seek. Their objective remains unknown.
Strengths
Firearms - The Jaffa armour deflects most traditional and lycan-intended bullets. Traditional firearms do little more than make dents.
Magic - Spells are deflected, again, by the armour. This includes unwilling telepathic or empathic contact.
Physical prowess - The Jaffa know how to fight and are much stronger than your average human.
Currently Known Weaknesses
Agility - The armour provides much protection but it comes at a cost of the ability to move in quick turns or with any real control. They're about as agile as a rhinoceros.
Potions - Unlike spells, potions can be more chemical based and thus, have some effect on them.
Arrogance - These Jaffa have a serious superiority complex. As they say, "Pride cometh before a fall".
These will be updated as progression goes on.
The story we are hoping to get going is open to any and all who wish to participate. We ask for no instant fixes though, as we are attempting to develop a progressing story. If you wish to participate, feel free to PM This Week's Antagonist or NightRunner. The latter also has the option of AIM.
*There is the strong possibility of mature content not suitable for those sensitive or younger readers. Posts will be marked appropriately but consider this the first warning.*
Given many have conflicting schedules, most of the story will take place via the forums under Across the Sea of Stars. If you wish to add or react somehow to the story but have a post or thread of your own, PM the link so we may keep the thread archive accurate and as up-to-date as possible.
