Cinder smiled to him self stepping on the forsaken lands once more; he buttoned his long coat and adjusted his hat. The evening sun was settling a score with the clouds, which hampered its morning call. It shone brightly just as it was settling in for the night.

Accompanied by a rather chipper Rewa and a grumpy Delliah, the three escorted themselves to the Dawn and Dusk Hotel. Upon arrival Vict?e Vesemrue an adventurer for hire who had pleaded previously to join them in Lemuria greeted them.

"Rewa, Cinder"! He walked up to them and stopped suddenly as a knife was brandished by Rewa. Cinder Blinked a few times and looked to Delliah, she seemed rather bothered by something else to pay no mind. Instead she headed to the counter and awaited service.

"What is the meaning of this!?" Vict'e raised his hands looking pale as snow.

"Who are you, what have you business with me and Cinder"? Rew poked his nose, she almost seemed rather amused, and she did it again almost chuckling.

"Did you get his nose dear"? Cinder chuckled some, looking for his wallet.

"What the..."? Vict'e almost stifled a laugh himself till he still realized the knife was invading his space. "Please, I didn't do anything, why are you two acting so strange? Rewa, please put the knife away".

Rewa nodded and then turned away placing the knife back. She wrapped her hands in Cinder's and kissed him softly. "I?m getting a room, we should go get ready for tomorrow".

Delliah was just following the bellhop up the stairs as he carried the cat's luggage. Strange as it was nobody seemed to notice. Rewa headed to the counter and fetched her room key and signed the guest book.

"Cinder, what's the deal hey"?

The elf took off his hat and his wallet rolled off his head into his hands. "Ah, there you are"!

A few minutes passed as the man and him exchanged glances.

"Say do I know you"? He was about to poke the man's nose but was pushed back. He had caught on from previous attempts by the woman.

"I'd hope so, we had coffee a few days before you left to go on your quest to Lemuira, I asked to come along. Say, how did it go? Did you find the treasure"? He seemed distracted by his own curiosity.

"Huh? I don't recall a treasure? Did I go somewhere?" He gave the guy some foreign money and walked away following Rewa up the stairs. "Take care of family good sir".

Vict'e blinked a few times and looked at the money. It wasn't money at all it was some tickets of some sort. "What's an Amusement Park"? He followed them up the stairs and slowly crept down the hall sneaking into the utilities closet and waited till the hallway was clear. He peeked out the door and waited till the bellhop was done loading the cat's luggage into her room. "Why does the cat have luggage and those two have none"? He slipped out, as the coast was clear and headed past Delliah's Room, he could hear purring behind her door. Passing a few other rooms he didn?t hear much then he stopped at the last on the end. "The royal suite what's going on here"? He listened closely to the sounds of giggles and laughter and to what could only be described as Flatulence.

"Oh one more and that should do it Rewa"!

*The peculiar sound*
"Like this"?

"Perfect"!

Vict'e turned pale once more; he couldn?t believe what he was hearing. Strangely enough the door opened and he fell, Rewa then picked him up.

"There you are"! Rew chimed; she was cradling a giant bottle of syrup of all things. The bottle was the culprit.

"There he is"! Cinder nodded, he peeked out from behind a stack of giant waffles that was drooling of syrup propped up by the bed.

Out of nowhere a waffle smites the man and he fell flat onto the ground. Rewa didn?t waste time to cover him with syrup. "Like this"? She cried loudly.

"You've gotten better honey"! He gave thumbs up, but this thumbs up wasn't lame, it was cool. Even for Cinder.

She returned the thumbs up and walked over to him feeding him some syrup from her sticky hands.

"Do you think we've won"? She looked to him then to the man covered in a breakfast fashion.

"Yup"!

Rewa

Rewa stared at Cinder and chuckled. Her grin was so wide you could see both sets of fangs in her mouth. She then looked to the victim a bit confused, she couldn?t quite put her finger on it but she had the feeling they had met him previously.

"So now that that is over I'm going to take a long relaxing dip in the Jacuzzi. You should join me elfy". She winked as she fetched her towel from the bathroom and walked over the man who had been waffled.

"Sounds like the best idea yet". He smiled at her as she glanced back before vanishing from the doorframe. He then crouched down beside the man and poked his nose. "

Vic'te just groaned for a few moments his face covered in syrup and the weight of the waffle made things impossible for him to move. He then managed to wipe some syrup from his eyes on the edge of the waffle. He blinked around a few times and peered over at the strange character that stood before him. He certainly was not the same gentleman he had met a month ago nor was Rewa. "What are you two doing, what happened? Don't you guys remember me"?

Cinder sat in long thought about these questions asked of him. He stood and shrugged. "I don't know you, what I am doing was giving you a waffle treatment. As for what happened it's over now. Remember, of course I am going for a dip in the Jacuzzi, you should join us, the hotel has a lovely spa upstairs, I am an honored guest here. I'm sure the others are there by now you should come". He dragged the waffle off the man and then walked over him.

Several minutes passed, Vict'e still lying in a pool of syrup stared at the hotel carpet and sighed. "I'm having a nightmare, that's it".

Cinder threw the towel over his shoulders and skimped down out of the garments he was wearing. Walking about the polished marble floor he eased into the bubbly warm waters seating himself between some businessmen and Rewa. He smiled to the side as a waitress offered him a drink, of course he took it. Gosta a strong liquor of sweet potatoes and cherry notes especially made for those who indulge in Jacuzzi recreation.

"So as I was saying Marty here had his hands on good property in the Western Ruins, opportunity for mining and jobs". A bulbous man said smoking on his cigar he looked to a slightly smaller man who appeared sheepish. At that time the other on the opposite side spoke up.

"If only you hadn't offended their customs, you dolt. We could have been sitting high on money. I suppose I should have used my background to seal this deal, humans..". A thin man of elvish ancestry grinned then pressed his lips to the glass, he looked to Cinder then to his company for a minute.

Cinder pressed close to Rewa her top exposed she was beautiful. Her pale vampiric skin almost rosey under the warm conditions. He grinned taking in consideration that she had brought along the bottle of syrup. It's gargantuan self was seated beside her and a woman a bit focused on the fact Rewa bared her top and didn't mind.

"Ah, you've brought it along, good, we may win still".

The circular tub turned to the strange couple who looked at everyone as prey, then returned to their discussions. The elven businessman turned to Cinder.

"Little Brother, tell me, what brings you to this hotel? You must understand what I mean when only us elves can appreciate the true nature of business"?

"No you didn't"..... Trailed Rewa as she took a sip of the strong drink.

Cinder stood with his drink and stepped into the center and fell in about waist high and then moved up onto the mans feet standing on top of them on the foot pedestal. "Little brother? I was a little brother a long time ago, my sister....as for you. Family you are not you half breed. I have nothing akin to the elves here. Elves appreciate true business"? He turned to look at Rewa with a nod. "What would you know about the true nature of anything".

A waffle smacked the man hard out of nowhere and the two business men chuckled as the half breed struggled to get it off.

"What no syrup"? The fat man chuckled as he looked around the sort regretted the comment as Rewa Tucked the big bottle under her arms as squeezed with all her might. It was carnage of another kind that night as waffles smite the many guests of the hotel and syrup coated the victims.

Vict'e managed to pull himself free and found his way to the upstairs only to find many more like he was, a victim of something strange.

CinderElf

Cinder pulled himself up to the hotel bar with a feeling something wasn't right. It wasn?t the piano or its player the atmosphere seemed right. The position of everything was all as he had remembered. The past few days hadn?t made much sense at all to him. He knew something was lost and he might not ever retrieve what was lost. He knew that something he had done had brought back a part of his past something good or bad he could not say.

?I?m thinking there must be something to our last trip that we are overlooking?. Cinder picked up his coffee taking a drink and then a bite from the croissant.

Adjusting himself, Rewa poke his side playfully and kissed him on the cheek. She was laughing and playing with his hair. He then realized he was camouflaged from the world as an elf. As the human woman Jennifer in her mid 30?s, Cinder kept quite busy with a part time job as an illustrator for the city newspaper. Often he had free time as her but not as himself. Cinder could have fooled anyone, he had often gained himself cheaper drinks on ladies night and often times passed by the minstrum undetected. He had on occasion visited Renne in the holding house as to not draw attention to himself.

?Where are we going to go? Can we just keep running around in circles? There is a reason behind it all isn?t there Jen??

Rewa took a drink from her tea, canting head at the female companion. Winking at Cinder she placed her hands on his legs and smiled. Rewa seemed to enjoy this, in fact it was expected as much.

?Time is running out. Soon the strange shall pass and the quota must be met?. Cinder finished off his coffee and edged her, as it was time to leave this region. ?I have an idea?.

The two left a nice tip and discarded themselves to the morning outside the hotel. Delliah still content in the hotel remained in her room, the strange cat had become recluse and only the sounds of purring and faint mews assured anyone that this room was occupied.

Vict?e passed by the hallway once more hoping to stumble into them, the waffles were gone and any trace of syrup must have been cleaned. He paused at Delliah?s door and was about to knock when a small pair of eyes peeked out from the slowly opening door. A tiny kitten with large paws and a big head stumbled its way into the hallway.

?Get back here, you?! Delliah came after her young lifting him by the scruff and placing him back into the lot of them, six to be exact. The kittens were gray with little white speckles on their fur. Delliah lazily nursed them and on occasion licked them they crawled about her and jumped off her head. Vict?e was curious so he knocked on the door.

?It?s open?. Delliah called out between cat sounds.

Vict?e entered slowly and closed the door behind him.

?Oh Vict?e hello again, how are you??

He was shocked that she had remembered him afterall Rewa and Cinder seemed to forget.

Delliah sat up as her little ones curled up together into a mess of fur napping on the bed. Vict'e poured himself a glass of water and sat across from the giant cat. He would have thought these strange years before, but coming to this world he has gotten used to things. Still this matter was strange to him the behavior of Cinder and Rewa wasn't right.

Vic'te sipped slowly looking around.

"I wasn't aware you had children".

Delliah smiled through her whiskers and loved her new position of motherhood. "It's been a year, it's a long story but if you are willing to know what has happened as best as I can tell.? She trailed off and watched her little ones yawning.

"Yes, of course I'm willing, I must know what happened. A year has passed it has only been a month. Have you given your children names"? Vict'e felt relaxed feeling that perhaps not all is lost.

"When we set sail from the public docks on Rewa's ship the Ozean Geist we were originally heading to Lemuria. I had a bad premonition for the beginning that something bad would happen. I was correct. I doubt you have heard of a Valkyrie that Cinder was once a slave to"?

"No, can't say I know much about any of you but I really wanted to go". He sipped the water and sat back folding his hands across his lap.

"Anyways, long ago before I was a kitten. Long before Rewa, longer than Kristae even. Cinder was a high wizard in a guild of some sorts devoting themselves to the purity of magic. He was pretty good so good they began to fear him. It was during his second term, during the Angels war. I hope I don?t need to explain much of this. He was placed in charge of leading a unit into a region of mountains that was heavily guarded, he was told it was enemy outpost encamped in the far reaches. Little did he know it was set up by the governing officials".

"The Minstrum"!?

"So, you know your history? Good, I don't have to explain much further. Well long story short in a plan that was destined to fail, he completed the mission of killing off the supposed enemies. Granted he had lost all but two other soldiers. He was returning to the headquarters during their day journey down the valley he was caught in an ambush. Apparently they had killed holy artifacts".

"Holy artifacts"?

"Yes, women who were to be Valkyrie. Of course they could not be killed under any normal circumstance however since they were new and hadn?t grown powerful enough as gods yet they were easily defeated. Of course there were mature Valkyrie but only a few and under certain events they would not interfere, report to their master. Skerie, her name sounds ominous, I've met her once and only when I was a kitten. What they feared wasn't the unit but its head master. Cinder an elite wizard no doubt, was sent there to kill Valkyrie. They were his allies. It was how he got his title. The Fox from Sola. I cannot be certain but I am curious as to whether Cinder knew this was a trap or not.
To sum up your questions I will state that Skerie has ever since tried her best to kill him or make him her slave. In a sick way she has fallen in love with him but only to have his child. A Valkyrie who makes love to a mortal will be stripped of her life as a Valkyrie, she would consume Cinders life and be human".

"But what of the quest"? Vict'e rocked a bit in a chair, which had only legs; he was impatient for an adventurer.

"I was getting to it, please let me explain, if I do not you?re just going to keep bugging me". Delliah tried her best to remain quiet for her children?s sake.

She sighed softly looking to them then to the man once more, he looked tired she thought.

"On our journey, Skerie had appeared in her golden boat. She literally appeared out from the water in a salty spray of mist. She gave him orders to become her slave once more. She never forgave him for killing her the last time they had met. He had said quite a few nasty things that I shall not speak of. Skerie put an end to Rewa's undead life that evening. She wiped out half the crew and insisted that Cinder continue his journey alone and lives his life unhappy. Before she could do anything else however Cinder did something I had only heard of from my master, Kristae, his wife. Cinder summoned every manner of god that was willing to give him a chance. I do not know the details but he owes them heavily now. He was granted no interference from Skerie. He performed the rite of Resurrection if there exists such a thing for vampires. We appeared back at our sea and at the port in Plygrethia of all places. We took a months break having holiday and planning our new course of action".

Vict'e sighed looking at the clock. "Is this story almost over"?

"Why have you someplace you need to be? Don't worry there is plenty of time and I know where they are headed".

It had been a few days now, Delliah and Vict'e both tired of the story and event now.

Vict'e folds his hands over one knee and looked down in despair, his high hopes of Lemuria were but a lie. Treasure he wished on no man conspired by a mad god.

"So, Rewa and Cinder are now lost forever, cursed right"?

Delliah frowned some licking the kittens, she stood and stretched; then licking her own fur.

"No, not forever"

Making her way over to the desk she pawed up onto the armrest and fetched a leather cord with an old key attached to it, placing it on his lap.

"They are cursed and will most likely die. Yes, as I have told you countless times now there was a god who did not side with us, Loki. Skerie and the menace god made a pass at us and took Rewa killing her. Cinder lost his concentration on the other gods and fell to Rewa?s side. There was nothing I could do.

The Lemurian notes and vessel were real the sunken Island real. There is nothing there, it was all discovered years ago or from now in another realm. Loki planned this out in the beginning, he was the one who gave Cinder the reason to look for Lemuria".

"All so he could get his hands on his book"? He nodded looking at the key; he tucked the cord away. "This key, it is Cinder's most prized possession? Seems silly how a broken old key can be of much use, why not his book, where can that be found"?

Delliah chuckled lightly looking to the human?s illuminated eyes. Curiosity isn?t always for cats she jokingly said to herself.

"Trust me, if there is something to stop their madness it will be found in the key and that book isn't for the hands of mortals or gods".

Vict'e nodded looking back at her as he stood in the door. "Thank you".

"Remember, to unlock the doors in order. Do not even to search for the book; Cinder has never kept it from his person, all these years I have known him. That book contains something, I know if he could give the book over it would be his end".

"Then what about the key"?

"He gave me instructions to hold on to it long before we set out for Lemuria, I know it will open things up for you, now go. To the See Geist, it is smashed across the northern cape of Midgar washed into the rocks. You must get into the guest quarters and find his notes on Lemuria or what appears to be"!

Meanwhile....

"I've regretted everything but you". Cinder smiled in disguise as Jen, kissing Rewa softly on the lips. Rewa grinned and turned to the mass of destruction. "I am not a vampire anymore, thank you Jen". She held her hand as they walked over the carnage, the plucked a peice of the substance and ate it. "Cherry".

The quiet town of Myn was now covered in the second plague. A thick gelatinous substance covered every inch of every person house, carriage, animal and any other part of the place.

Loki watched on secretly, he enjoyed the play.

"Soon I shall have that book". He turned to Skerie smiling.

"What about me? And why not just take the book"? She watched them walk out of the town. In some way she wished she never made a pact with Loki, she may never get what she wants from Cinder now.

"It would not please me to just take it, I made a deal with them. So far I am winning".

"But they look as if they have a plan of their own, why are they not just running around filling the quota"? Skerie smirked, and turned from the viewing device and headed out of the strange invisible globe.

Loki cocked his head and grinned. "Ah, she has forgotten already".

Rewa

Date: 2008-01-26 22:06 EST
Rewa stretched her arm outward looking into the night sky eclipsing the moonlight. She smiled some looking to Cinder, as he lay asleep in the human female form.

"I love you". She smiled some then sat up looking at the campfire.

"Here on the side of the road, in limbo, cursed with strange. I love you".

Holding her chest she recalled the day she died and was brought back to life. Loki and Skerie will die she thought.

"I'll save you from this shared curse, Loki is mine. Neither Skerie nor your wife shall have your love".

Holding herself tightly as a sudden chill came over her. She continued to watch her companion, she smiled. Skerie just then thought of an idea, she might have something to assist them. She shifted to her side pulling her red coat around her and procured a dagger from out her pocket. She unscrewed the handle and delicate glass tubing slipped out from it. Inside the small vial a red substance swirled.

"My impurity might be our salvation".

She drank the vial and fell over, her pale complexion returning.

Cinder yawned and threw herself up quickly looking to Rewa across the firelight.

"Red? Are you alright"?

Rewa's eyes opened and she grinned her fangs returning, she turned herself over on top of her.

"I'm much better now Jen".

She traced her finger across the delicate pink cheek and across the slender nape of her neck and bit into her. Feeding time had rung its bell for a vampire who had returned from the living.

A few minutes passed and Cinder shook his head feeling her bite on his neck.

"You could have mentioned this earlier, besides I'm not much nutrition for the likes of you". He tossed her a bottle of deer blood.

"You were so tempting as the woman I couldn't resist, humans taste good, elves not so good". She caught the bottle making a face but drank it anyways.

"What part of me was so tempting"? He grinned, at that instant returning to Jen. She gave her a wink.

"We are going to Dueleke Vast next? That?s on Midgar. Then to Avalon? Loki will soon find out what we are up to, but are we willing to risk it"?

"No, Loki will not find out. Skerie however does. Yes, I am willing to risk it. Are you"? Sitting up she stared at Rewa in all seriousness despite the strange that surrounds her / him.

Rewa smiled. "I am".

"I love you too Rewa".

Rewa was flushed with embarrassment looking at her hands clenching the mug. "Were you listening to me the whole time"?!

"You know I am a good listener".

Waffles fell from the sky and smacked them both on the head; they instantly fell over leaving only their legs sticking out from the giant toasty grids. Syrup then drizzled onto them.

Skerie watched from a distance hoping Loki was not aware of her. She sighed, not liking to play this game Loki had in mind. ".......".

CinderElf

Rewa shifted out of the Waffle and pulled Jen out from the one on top of her. They looked around cautiously drawing their weapons, Jen shifted back into her true form as Cinder. He grinned waving his hands to Rewa who turned around.

Cinder fired off a few bolts of fire from his palms, as they circled a large oak in the distance. Rewa clicked the safety off her rifle and walked cautiously around the left side. Cinder flanked from the right cloaked in mist, his forked spear ready.

Skerie was caught on the surprise. She smirked looking to the two, her hand ready at the hilt of her sword; Nagnuinumer the blight. "Clever, clever, I had figured you two cursed halfwits would have given up. Nobody has ever completed Loki's Quests before".

She let her hand off her sword and smiled. "But, you two were not planning on completing his tasks were you"?

Rewa jerked her rifle. "These bullets aren't made for you but I'll be thinking twice. What do you know of our motives? You?re working for Loki if he knew something he would have ended the deal".

Cinder walked away. "You are pathetic".

They looked at him then at each other.

"Which one of us is pathetic"? Rewa demanded firing a shot near his feet.

The projectile got his attention; he scampered like a rabbit to and up a tree.

"Skerie, not you Red. Don't get so feisty! Geesh"! Cinder waited cautiously, his Ravens landed beside him whispering to him.

"Oh, this quest is welcomed but nearly over. The tumblers to the lock have almost all been turned. My friends tell me that serious trouble awaits me back at the Salvage yard, so I cannot play with you much longer Skerie. Loki will have to make due with what we give him in the end".

Skerie narrowed her eyes and pounded her way past Rewa knocking her to the ground and fell the mighty oak the elf was perched in. It crashed falling heavily with him still in it, his messengers flying away elsewhere in the world.

"Do you think this is a game, if I do not follow Loki I will not be allowed in this realm. We were once lovers Cinder, I cared for you".

"As your slave! All you cared for was yourself and you knew I was set up in the war. You are a liar"!

Rewa stood furious. "What did she say? Lover"? She looked at Cinder and fired a few shots at him and then to Skerie. They both managed to dodge them mostly grazing their flesh slightly.

"Hey it wasn't like that. I was a slave; I only pretended to love her. Besides she was going to kill me if I didn't bide my time till I could escape".

Skerie grinned. "There is still time for that, on guard"!

She drew her holy sword and charged toward Cinder her honesty was true, she meant to kill him. Her wings were so intense they could be seen by them both, a brilliant golden hue with a rainbow aura which trailed behind them. Rewa fired off a few shots but they ricochet off her body as she shone.

Cinder stood steadfast holding his bladed staff as the razor edges curled up around him. The Saints tears under his eyes curled around the side of his face, his eyes burned out like blackened coals he grinned as blood spewed from his mouth and his fangs met his lips.

"Ich bin die Fuchs. ab Sola. Zubereiten zu sterben".

A flock of ravens swirled around to meet with Cinder forming a black space around him, truly the battle of dark and light. The Valkyrie embraced his darkness and he her light. Their weapons forged from godly fires now forged flames of their own. Cinder looked to Rewa and nodded.

"ICH Liebe Sie .... Rewa"!

The darkness covered the light and all was quiet. The sounds of wind, sand, and leaves could only be heard. Suddenly the light broke free expelling the distortions of darkness around it. Heavily the two fighters fell on opposite sides. Skerie coughed up blood and pulled out her own sword from her chest, how did it get there she wondered. She turned to look only to that Cinder was in fact dead, but no weapon was found. Rewa ran to him, bent over holding his chest.

"We have to hurry"! Rewa stood trying to lift the now limp figure. He grew powerless and turned to Jen once more, lighter and easier to carry she headed down the old western ridge.

"Wie ist..". Jen passed out

Rewa sighed, setting her on the side of a road for a minute. "Please no more German".

She examined the wound and felt horrible forever considering this quest. She bit her wrist and feed him her own vampire blood to give him strength to hold on. Cinder's lips sucked her wrist softly, under those feminine eyes she looked to Rewa for a minute and spoke in that Ferishan.

"Oceve". They vanished from sight

Vict?e arrived at Devandry Sound early morning Sunday. This portion of Midgar, Devandry Sound. Where the ghosts of the sea call out to the rest of the world. How the See Geist found her self-wrecked upon her shores was a mystery to him, he was only given the location. Any longer listening to a long story from the cat would have proved useless he thought.

He tied his small boat alongside the debris from the vessel and pulled himself up onto the rocks. The long jetty spanned outward from the beach. A dark volcanic beach, that is rich in sediments. No sign of man save for a lone lighthouse cropped by the cliff overhead. He fetched his grapple hook from his side and hoisted it and over the rails of the ship. He tested the line then made his way upward. He stood uneasy on the old timbers, looking around to the back of him he could see the other side of the ship scattered before the waters. Crates, barrels and corpses were floating in and out of the hull.

?Something isn?t right here. How did the ship end up here??

He unfastened the button to his scabbard, holding onto his blade just in case. Vict?e pushed through the doors below deck and took a turn on the steps and then held himself back. The steps gave way and fell free below to the exposed rocks. He saw the rocks and fragments of wood in a pool churning foam. Turing the dial to the lantern from his belt he pulled it up as the amber glow permeated. The illumination barely helped against the damp green blue walls. He came to the shifted floor on his one side the captain?s quarters obviously by the ornate door and stained glass headings, beside it stairs below and then a door to the other side. Simple and plain yet it was as most ships had a quest quarters.

He stepped into the small space lowering his head. Vict?e set the lantern on a chest that was affixed to the floor. The rest of furniture that was spare: a cot, a desk and a nightstand were all tossed about. He turned the desk upright and searched its drawers, empty. He looked around, taking up the lantern. He could see something shine from out of the mattress, which crossed paths with the floor. He pulled the object over to his lantern, a thin metal tube, and a parchment protector. Something fell from it. He looked down to find a Teleporter stone!

He couldn?t feel as if he was being watched. He saw the glowing red eyes of a raven perched on the open window. He chased it away and shut the door.
He screwed the cap off and read aloud the contents. His mouth gave birth to exhaust as he spoke. The room was getting cold.

Victed sat on the side of the matress and held the light close.

?We have made our way into the trial of Lemuria. There we will decode the final poem of Archidades. Without the scholars it will be up to me to fill in as best I can. Rewa has taken leave with her crew to search the previous rooms. I know this is a trap and I pray that all will be unveiled only to me.

I have left my key behind, Delliah if you should be reading my notes take heed and open the chests back home. Of course you must do things in order as I ask of thee. Please, follow these steps to the order. My life as well as yours is in danger.

This quest that I had failed from the beginning was all a set up from the very beginning. The Minstrum is likely to be behind it all, mayhap even a higher power. Higher than my own.

Lemuria was uncovered on earth as the origin of Avalon and Midgar those connecting realms holds a treasure, ancient keys yet unraveled. Gods fear it as well as mortal men. The history books tell of no tales written in the hands of the born devils. No books seen through the eyes of the fox from Solas. Only I write such historical records. I believe I have already solved this mystery long ago.

I will not linger on as Cinder much too longer. Fate has ordered my ending, I cannot allow Jennifer Cross the end her life her chance, my chance. My gift from the now dead God not visible on this planet. I am sorry I had failed her.

Delliah, please open with that key in this order.

Plygrethia can unlock a secret and will allow me if I am still alive to slay Loki. His Son?it will cost the other world greatly.

Here is your order; I knew you would find it too simple.

First door is number I
Second door is numbered II
Third door is numbered III
Fourth door is numbered IV

Please keep to the order, curiostiy to open in a different order may end in your life.

My heart goes out to you Delliah, I?ve always loved you as a daughter, Kristae and I both did.

Cinder?

Vict?e tucked the note back into the metal tubing and gathered the collected the Lemurian research, he had almost forgot about the stone.

?Right?I?m sure after this is over I can strike a deal with him?. He picked it up and clenched it tightly. Vict?e vanished.

Skerie lay face up in her pool of blood as Loki loomed over her, his lips curled up appeased. He drew the sword from her body and tastes the blade.

"You've failed me, now you must not ever return. Now you must not ever be immortal. Now you must perish, the last of your kind. You are nothing but dreams of poets, warriors and songs sung in bars"!

He bent over and spat at her, her body trembling in the cold, which now she felt for the first time ever. Her wings once golden, now tarnished by blood of her rival. Lost was her holiness her sense of security. She pulled herself up against the fallen tree and brushed her bloodied hair from her eyes. Tears she had never cried till now.

"That my dear is what mortals call tears, you will know more of it before I am through with you. When we meet back home you will have more tears for me". He laughed, holding her sword, he turned it around and struck her with its blunt end. Skerie fell over a tooth and some blood fallen into the snow.

"I.. killed him"? She lifted her face to the side breathing desperately.

"That you did not, do you know I wanted my errands fulfilled. Would I have allowed you to kill something that could destroy me? You would not understand, not a mere servant".

Loki paced about chuckling he did not once look to her, her sight disgusted him as she now was.

"Cinder is mostly dead, Rewa was supposed to die. There is one other, who must be dealt with. There is a cat, do you know of it"? He crouched down pulling up her head then slamming it down to the icy earth.

"Get the beast yourself, as you said I'm only a servant and even now you will not grant me rewards that I deserved. Do you know the minstrum will be looking for him, harder even than you"!

"Enough"! With a ferocious burst of might he swung the sword down severing her head from her neck. Her body fell silent on the soft powder, which began to fall even harder. Loki spun her head by her locks and stopped to look at her one last time.

"I rather liked you once". He amused himself by kissing her then dropping her onto his foot that sent her head flying.

"Once I gain full power in this realm I may just do that, Skerie". He whistled softly returning back to the void.

Meanwhile, inside a small bungalow on the Deepen Docks of Avalon Rewa and Cinder sought refuge while they awaited a sign from Loki.

"Red..". Cinder reached for her but couldn't move.

"Shhhush. I'm here you mustn't move love.". She lent him a hand to know it was all right. He looked terrible, his eyes black as pitch and his teardrops curved around his face. His teeth tightly clenched as his blood seeped from his mouth.

"My power will not cease, not until I have exhausted my fuel. Why, did it come to this? Kristae".

He moved but only grunted in reaction. Passing out into a sigh, he reverted to Jennifer, she winced in her slumber with only a faint trace of the saints tear below her closed eyes. Rewa comforted her companion and felt useless.

"I don't know, but I cannot lose you".

She scratched open her wrists once more and held it closes to her lips hoping she could absorb some of her power.

"I'm Sorry".

Laying a hand on her chest she smiled kissing the cheek of this woman she partly knew and thinking of the elf she partly thought she knew. She felt her sorrow, knowing it may be too late. She lay beside her softly stroking Jens hair, she was warm and soft as was the elf. She wondered if there was a time they could love like back then.

?I must be at the other end of the world, incredible?.

Vict'e arrived at the lost Island of Plygrethia. It was morning where only moments ago night had just began. He had no clue where he was only that Delliah entrusted a quest to him. He looked around finding his heading, the key faintly glowed. It lifted itself out from his shirt leading him onto a sandy hilltop where the forest and shoreline met. He stood adjusting himself and stared for several minutes at an elvish cottage. The teleporter stone unknown to him fell from his pocket beside the gate when the key floated out. It was adorable and so similar to human design safe for the strange carved door much like a gargoyles face; it seemed to leap out from its hinges. The key fell back to his chest and dangled.

?So, it?s inside here?! He nodded.

He pushed the small fence to the walkway admiring the beauty of its flowers. He turned around gazing at the incredible mountains that loomed in the distance.

?Another time perhaps?. He opened the strange door and closed it behind him. He entered the living room entrance half expecting a nice warm greeting only there was no answer. The subtle light and feeling of security rested his tense and rapid mind. He welcomed himself into the home, plucking a few mint candies from the jar on the coffee table. A typical home perhaps belonging to a couple. He walked about the quaint entrance room, a vintage sofa from an earlier period in fact all the furnishing looked like new but quite old. Done in cherry all were elaborate and finely carved. A grand fireplace that seemed out of place in such a small cottage stood before him. Decorated in stone and Iron. He admired the craftsmanship. Truly these Plygrethians were artisans he thought. He then remembered Cinder and wondered if he too was once a simple soul who crafted beautiful things.

While he was looking for the doors he saw Cinder, rather a photo of him. It was a much younger version but clearly it was him, being squeezed tightly by an older female elf, possibly a sister or mother. Judging from this he must have been only about twelve and the other about late twenties. He chuckled some at various pictures of the two and one with them accompanied by two older elves a man and a woman. He nodded knowing it was his sister and they must be his parents. His ears were different from his family he thought looking at the dark bands at the tips.

He walked about checking the whole of the living room; nothing sparked interest or seemed out of place so he moved on. Walking to the hallway he stopped and looked in the bathroom and then kitchen, strange there was no toilet only a large bath and some strange work of a sink. The kitchen itself was perhaps taken right out of a five star restaurant. It?s cabinets in luxuries Mahogany and the tile was green marble matching the counter tops. Even the knob fittings were carved of marble. He could admire the stove and cute fridge and figure out how a place with apparently no electricity could sustain it but he figured he best get on with his quest. He popped a few more mints in his mouth and continued down the hall.

?Strange, why lead me here??

He stopped to the end of the hallway one door looked as if it was sealed another, open. The sealed door was engraved with a plaque.

?Sessuna Shirastan, beloved daughter and sister. May a Shirastan never forget your name. You are loved eternally?.

A vase sat beside the door flowers long since withered. He turned and inspected the other, Cinder Shirastan.

?His sister was named Sessuna, wasn?t it??

He walked into the room that was open. Piles of book all scattered about the room a scroll desk in the corner over looking a bay window. Wind chimes all sorts hung from the ceiling and strange writings scribbled across every inch of the walls and where there were no walls to be scribbled sketches. On a corkboard beside the desk he gazed at a collection of photographs. They started from drawings and paintings and then modern photography black and white then the later color. Most of the figures he hadn?t known al l strange and all different races and backgrounds. He spotted Cinder a few times he had change much throughout the centuries. He gazed at one photo, a picture of a beautiful woman holding tightly to Cinder cradling a baby kitten.

?Delliah??

He turned around feeling this was hopeless, that cat had told him to come here for no reason. He sat down on the bed and faced the door looking directly across the hall to Sessuna?s room.

?Hmm, I wonder. Could I possibly get in there??

He stood, running as fast as he could. Instantly he slammed himself into the door.

*THUD*

He fell to the ground whimpering. He held his chest thinking that was stupid. Suddenly a key fell from the top of the doorframe.

?Couldn?t be that easy, could it??

He got up and attempted to use the key. The door didn?t open as he expected it would.

?merde?!

He wandered back outside and sat on the steps.

"What the hell am I doing here? I'm not ready for this". Vict'e sighed thinking of the possible rewards he may get from Delliah for helping her out or for returning the stone to Cinder. He smiled thinking of treasure. He looked at the walkway and noticed it went straight to the gate but also it curved around theback.

"Perhaps"?

Curiosity got him as he jogged around the side and stopped to the back yard. As much has he expected, wildflowers blooming in winter, he came to a simple shed. It was locked upon inspection. He looked at the key for a moment. Without delay he inserted the key and turned it, the lock sprung open.

?Ahh?!

He got attacked by a rake, which fell into him. He shook his head, laughing and placed it to the side. He rummaged around the shed moving shovels and fishing poles, he looked around and noticed a tarp covering the floor. Curious go t the best of him and he dragged the wheel barrel and the kayak out of the shed and then tossed a few garden tools so he could take the tarp off. Amazingly enough there was a hidden hatch. Vict?e slid the pin out and lifted the door open slamming it on the floor in the back. Down below he could make out the glint of metal in shapes of tiny boxes. He stepped down into the dark hole and filled his lungs with dust and cobwebs. He squinted several times before adjusting to the dim light. He could just make out ten miniature-sized doors that looked like somewhat like chests. Every door was marked in numerals. He looked around to see if anything else gave a clue. He noticed a strange parchment that was half buried in the ages of dust. Reading it aloud he felt unlucky.

?I?ll appear once in your dreams but three times in your nightmares, open me ten times to wake me so I can put you to sleep?.

He shook his head nervously, tossing the paper aside. ?No thanks?!

He reached for the first door and opened the tiny knob with his fingers softly. ?One?.

He sighed feeling relief and then glanced at the second door, he opened it. ?Two?.

Beads of sweat started to form on his brow as he breathed the dirty air; he felt a spider crawling on his neck. He paused to brush it off and continued. ?Three?.

?Heh, nothing to it after all I suppose?. He turned the final door. ?Four?.

Vict?e popped his head out of the tiny space looking out at the shed into the garden and then to the sky.

?Huh? Where is the secret, this thing didn?t do a dammed thing?.

He ducked back below and noticed the four doors closed, a glow outlined their frame. He could smell something strange but not put his finger upon it. Outside he could hear a slight wind stir, perhaps it did work he thought. He climbed out of the space below and then loomed out over the shed door. He looked to the sky as it swirled overhead. The pond which now was frozen over, a rock began to protrude from its surface breaking the ice in the center, as it rose he could make out a finely crafted chain tied to the rock.

Suddenly the wind stopped as soon as the rock stopped to raise the pond returned to normal but the rock and chain remained. He turned back to the shed and looked down into the hole. The doors have stopped glowing.

?That?s it, that?s the great secret to fighting the god Loki??

He could feel the wind once more but it wasn?t a wind, the smell was much stronger this time, the air humid almost like breathing.

?Where is my father??

Vict?e one to turn pale on anything whimpered as he turned to face the thing that spoke. In a shiver he stared into the maw of a giant wolf, its breath reeked of horrible things. His teeth sharp as swords dripped with thick saliva. It kept breathing heavily into the shed.

?Where is father??

?I uh??.

?Where is father??!

?I don?t know?.

?Time has come, I, Lord Fenris will begin my hunt, where is Solas if Father you don?t know??

?Solas? Oh, the elf. I don?t know but Avalon would be my best guess?.

Fenris grinned breathing heavily into him.

?Lucky you are, I shall spare your life mortal?.

The giant wolf darted off into the sky, a rage of flames scattered on the winds. Vict?e shook nervously holding himself in the doorframe.

It?s been days now since the elf had been onconsiuos. Drifting in and out of death he dreamt violent images and things that he cherished coming to an end, still he held on. Cinder and his other identity, Jen sat on the shores of lonliness conversing for many days debating wether it was the end of their life. The heard a song play within their mind, a familiar one which Cinder had written long ago, nearly forgotten.

Sometimes I dream about our love.
Still, it's only dreaming
It's not real I know
But I,
I wake up screaming.

Where have you gone what happened to our hearts?
Did they end up on opposite sides of the world?
Still I try to find the one,
The one that left me behind
The pages of my memory.

Still its' hurts, this fragile heart
Why can't it end?
Will I stop bleeding?
tears they never end,
they never spoil,
god I wish they would.

Sometimes I dreram about our love.
Still...it's only dreaming.
Even though it's not real
somehow I end up screaming.

What have you done with your hand
It's not with mine.
Where is your glass now
we used to share this wine.

There no awnser from you, only mine.

Still it hurts, this fragile heart.
When will it end?

Rewa blew out the lantern on the nightstand and sat on the bed beside her, she tucked the blanket of her body and smiled some assuring herself that things would be fine.

"Where is loki"? She softly said wondering how much of this game she was willing to let continue.

Rewa

?Good day, it?s been a while since we have had guests here in Einvant, Shirastan?s summer home. I wish it had been on merrier occasions. So we have wounds on your friend??

Rewa nodded looking over the doctor?s shoulder

?Yes, we were attacked on our journey here?.

?Ah, well you did a decent job of tending to her wounds. She will be needing a new dressing and cleaned?.

The good doctor checked the eyes of the woman lying in the bed, and then traced his finger over the faint markings on the left eye.

? What is that? These eyes, those markings, faint as they are. I suppose its just coincidence. Is she with Cinder??

?You could say that?. She smiled some looking at the gentle one sleep. Rewa?s fangs ached for days now, she was hungry hoping not to drive the doctor away she headed into the kitchen to feed, hopefully there was something to drive the pain away.

?Well you ladies must have good reason to be here in Cinder?s home and we have always loved the elf?s visits. Your friend will be okay she needs sleep. Perhaps a bath, dress her wounds and apply some ointment on the bandages. Was she by any chance recovering form a cold or the flu?? He set aside the bottle of ointment on the nightstand.

?Actually yes, a little after holiday he was feeling better. I mean she was feeling better?.

She opened up a package of deer blood, which must have been in the fridge for ages, but she was desperate. She punctured the bag with her teeth and forced the blood out of the holes. Quickly tossing the now empty bag into the trash she wiped her mouth and returned.

?Her having the flu, that isn?t nothing to worry about is it??

?I can say but best keep an eye on her, till now let her take these?. He handed her some pills from his bag and wrote out a receipt.

?Whom shall I make this bill out to then??

?Me, Rewa Nalliste, thank you doctor?.

?It?s of no trouble Miss, just take care, and follow the directions on the labels?.

Rewa smiled and bowed walking the doctor out. She needed some rest herself; hopefully things would turn around for them.

?Bye?. She waved as he waved from the ramp at the end.

She smiled softly to some children as they ran past to check on their traps at the end of the docks. Laughing and throwing bread to the gulls, carefree children are she thought. She recalled the time she had returned not that long ago and found her self on similar docks on Rhy?Din soil.

"I wish I had found you earlier this past summer". She sighed taking a seat on the high back chair against the little building.

"Hello". A man in uniform tipped his hat gently and lifted the lid to the mailbox of the bungalow.

"Uh, oh, Hello". She smiled softly.

"Good day Madam". He continued his route walking down the other end and up the ramp.

"Hmmm".

She stood curious and looked inside the mailbox it was nearly full. She gave a weird look to the postal man wondering what happens when the box can't hold any more. She headed back inside with the mail and sorted through them, nothing was really interesting she thought.

"Bills, University Documents, Salvage Claims, Auction Appraisals. Ah, a letter from Loki". She set them neatly back into a pile and then realized there was a letter from the mad one.

"A Letter from Loki"?! She opened it, as it wasn't addressed to anyone in particular.

"My dear friends? Please"! She shook her head trying to remain calm.

"My dear friends,

I have taken into consideration of what tasks of mine you shall complete for me now. I require from you now the one thousand and three deaths of commoners and five hundred and seven animals. I care not where you get this task completed only that you do just that, complete it. I have also a request for you to steal an ?clair from Reyno's Bakery since you two are now on Avalon.

As for Skerie, she has lost her head ever since you two left. Literally, I cut her head off as a gesture of friendship to you both.

May your mission be successful.

Love,
Loki".

She crumpled the paper up in her hands and looked at Jennifer softly, she wanted this madness to end, and she could only have faith in Cinder?s plan and faith in Delliah. She locked the door and took a glass of water over to the bed sitting it beside the nightstand. She undressed her carefully not to harm her and took a soft cloth wetting in the water she dabbed her left shoulder and her side.

?I really don?t know how I can accomplish this on my own?.

She stroked a few strands of hair from Jen?s face and wiped the dried blood from her forehead. She took the ointment and rubbed some on the thin strips of bandaging wrapping the cloth around her head. In tears she silently worked on the poor body that lay before her.

She watched Jennifer twitch in her sleep and smiled with more tears, thinking as long as she is feeling pain they aren?t lost. Rewa wiped her tears on her sleeve and crawled over to the side of the bed to lift her up. She wrapped large gauze on the side and smoothed out the creases in the bandage with the ointment on it. Setting her gently back down she rolled the covers back up over her.

?I love you?.

She held her hand in hers and kissed it. She got up and undressed putting on a nice silk kimono she found earlier in the closet. A simple print of sakura blossoms on black thread with golden and rose stitching. She made herself a quick meal and sat quietly in the living room reading the book in question Loki was after.

Thinking she heard something she remained very quiet, only to hear the sound of gulls outside she didn?t hear the children no more. She stood checking on her patient, the slow steady breathing was faint and nothing disturbed her. She returned to the book written in Ferishan she was lost, but the pictures and sketches that were loosely added to the already large book made her curious.

She heard a few people shout outside and a loud howl almost llike a wild dog. She hurried up to check the windows but coudlnt see much.

?What was that??

She poked around outside and looked at the end of the dock, a large wolf stood at the ramp. The creature made the beams creak and shake as he sat quietly looking her way. She gasped, ducking back inside.

She hurried into the bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed holding Jen?s loose hand.
?Der hvor er Sola? Ou est Sola? Wohin findet man Sola? Where is Sola??

A dark and gravely voice called from outside, it was just on the other side of the door. Heavy breathing like panting accompanied the chatter.

She looked at Jennifer and then traced her fingers across the faint markings under those beautiful closed eyes thinking of those markings, and the title he used .The Fox from Sola, that?s what he said. She trusted her instincts and headed out into the living room and unlocked the door. She stood firm as she turned the knob and opened the door. The wolf was waiting quietly outside his front paws folded over each other and his mouth relaxed.

?You are not the Fox?.

?No, but I..?. She was cut off.

?What news does my father bring??

?Cinder is your father?? She thought about Delliah and how Cinder thought about her as his daughter.

?No?. He almost barked a laugh but closed his eyes and sighed. ?Loki is my father?.

"I was reserved, I didn't make a move. Funny how these little glimpses of life seems to go on for hours on end. Like a film which every frame has been duplicated seventy one and a half times. The half for the last part one might miss so they wouldn't have to endure it any longer. To see something new every time they see it for the first time. Bitter is the feeling and taste I digest when I think of what I could have taken and what I forgot".

Jen and Cinder finished witting and then looked at what each hand had offered and sighed looking deeper into the black smudges of the ink it seemed to trail off the edges of the paper like the saints tears. Evil vines that curled around Cinder's burned out his eyes black. The white paleness of the paper like Jennifer's skin echoed in a frame fragile but not soft nor hard. Lost into a fashion of desires created by a madness neither one had yet known but was becoming more like.

"We are the same yet the eyes of the world sees different qualities in a man than a woman and vice versa. I am a Ferisha but I can be Human. I can be warm yet so cold. I am unsatisfied with this world and the way we are headed. I feel as if I have finally drifted away but I haven't landed on my home shores. Can I even return to forsaken lands? Will we return to our lives before death will we return to our lives before vanishing from our home world?"

They finished another entry and looked in each others eyes, they were worried, tired eyes, forging in fires of hatred. Sadness was getting to the best of them.

Cinder sat down content not to watch the globes of their life. Some precious memories clearly visible others blurry in the distance.
Jen watched the globes attentive and smiling. All the places they have been and the hearts they have touched. The many people they have encountered were important to them.

She smiled wiping her eyes having a second chance to see some of these people so close and real. It flashed on forever it seemed, still Cinder ignored it all keeping himself behind his other. She looked over her shoulder to Cinder.

"There's a shadow hanging over me".

"I know".

Rewa

Date: 2008-02-04 03:24 EST
Red lost her light in the world as she held on to Jennifer's hand, soft, warm and now it was colder. Colder than her's, a vampires hand could be warm in that hand. She drew herself away, tossing the medallion onto the bed. She wiped a few tears looking away at the book on the desk then to Fenris.

"Can we do this together"?

"It was written". The giant wolf nodded in the direction of the book sitting on the desk. Rewa smiled slightly then looking at Jennifer.

"You love her not the elf"?

"I am not sure what I am capable of loving, but yes, I feel I may die not knowing her".

Fenris sighed softly his lapped up some seawater and expelled it from his nostrils. He glared at the sky and saw the sign he was waiting for.

"You and Solas will accompany me. Cinder is her as musch as he is himself. I am not a god, I am not a mortal. My father is Loki. I was created for the end of all gods. Are creatures finally willing to make choices without the gods"?

Rewa nodded. "I am willing to try, but what will become of Cinder, I mean The Fox from Solas"?

She looked at the necklace dangling around her neck, a gift given to her from Cinder when he was Jennifer. It was the only gift he had given her that was met with a kiss.

"You are immortal yet you wonder about the love from a mortal. Do you know that Solas will exists forever, Solas will always be. Cinder and his other self will die and stay dead. Solas will be reborn into another, you are a strange immortal to love a person who is half everything. Are you willing to help me? I may help you in the end, it depends on what your mind had finally made up".

Rewa smiled picking Jennifer out of the bed, she hunched over picking the medallion back up and walked outside near the wolf.

"Where are we going"?

"Plygrethia. Home of your Lovers". Lord Fenris grinned as Rewa lifted herself and the limp body over the back of the wolf.

Rewa

Date: 2008-02-06 01:56 EST
Rewa pulled the limp body over her shoulder and eased off the back of the giant wolf. She set Jennifer down beside the slate walkway in the backyard, she looked around and noticed the shed had been opened and the pond now had a rock in it's center, a glowing chain of some fine craft. She turned bowing to Fenris who was watching the sky in the east.

"Lord Fenris, before you had mentioned that he is half everything. What does that mean exactly"? She stood and watched the body, slow breaths still deciding on a suitable fate.

"Cinder has the saints tear, a blessing and a curse. He is a monster and the saint?s tear prolongs the duration of his magic use. I am sure you have noticed how sinister he can look. It doesn?t matter soon things will end.

You know the world is waning of magic such as his, I am sure you are aware that most are null to it anymore. The fact that a powerful wizard still exists should not be. This world is becoming more advanced and will surpass the other dimension. My homeland. There is little magic left there but there is other things the world has need of these days. I am certain Cinder has known of this for some time. I believe all that is happening is already been written down in his book."

Rewa sat down beside Jennifer and placed a hand on her shoulder picking her head up into her lap. She traced the saint?s tear gently and wondered if he knew all along it would come to this.

"You mentioned before something about making choices without the gods"?

"Yes although I am not clearly sure, I know my role and I am committed to it. They mention me as a wicked and wild creature, they forced me down onto the rock and were bound. Only during the ending times would I break free. It's funny but I have been broken for years, I think my father finally realized I wasn't around.

Cinder of all creatures summoned me. He broke my bindings and freed me. I had been traversing the many worlds as a favour to him to find his home world. I had failed him but I had found love".

"I know he misses his realm, perhaps it is lost as he has foreseen. Delliah's children are yours aren't they? Rewa smiled softly.

"Yes".

She stood easing Jennifer back down; she kissed her softly on the lips and nodded. She walked over to the fencing and looked over into the woods, wishing she could have returned here the last time.

"Okay, so what do we do"? Turning around she walked right up to the giant wolf and stared at him. Pulling the medallion out of her pocket and hung it around her neck, she glanced at her love slowly breathing.

Fenris laughed at her. "There is no we, only I may set things right now. You and Cinder did the best I could have expected. Well maybe not the best but still you have done well. I shall return to the rock and where it will send me and my father back to our realm. I am free, so the gods will now understand what that means".

Rewa looked at the book sitting beside Fenris' front paw. "Why does Loki wish to have this book of Cinder's"?

"It is believed to contain the eyes of the world from beginning to the end. Cinder got close to becoming a god at one time; he saw the fruits of the world tree, had written and recorded things even some of us had no knowledge of. Things that would scare the gods that they would fear a mortal and its book. One thing he did that surprised me when he found me".

"What was that"?

"He told me he knew me, he said my name. We had never met. He called me the wolf of rebirth".

Rewa scratched her head at that remark.

"He has said some things to me when we first met. I was surpised to find out as well. Why would you not take the book for yourself then if Loki would want it and fear it"? She played with the medallion looking the sky following the direction Fenris trailed off to.

"I have lived long and suffered long. I am a powerful creature more so than Cinder, more than a thousand of him for certain. There is one thing to know of me. While I have suffered I have always kept a promise. Besides the only thing I fear is returning to the rock for eternity as it was intended. I trust the elf or human or whatever Solas wishes to be, at least that is what I promised. Delliah is my trust in Cinder".

Rewa smiled. "I'm sure she misses us all then, I wonder if she had her children she was due any day when we left her".

Fenris growled in comfort as he nodded to Rewa. "Thank you, I am sure they will be growing up well in your charge and Delliah's of course. What did Cinder say to you Rewa, when you first met".

"He said that I loved him and we would rule the Alb'Deaan Sea together". What of Cinder, will he not be there in the future, is what he said not true"?

"Look for yourself".

Jennifer was holding her face in her hands; she was still quite weak ass he fell over onto his side. She looked at the wolf and the vampire sideways and grinned.

"I was never good at raising children, look at Delliah she turned out just like me". She chuckled some hurting her ribs, she regretted finding her humor was doing better than her body.

Rewa smiled wide and ran over beside her, she kissed her several times and wiped a few tears. "You bastard"!

CinderElf

Date: 2008-02-09 18:14 EST
Days have passed since last. Rewa and Fenris awaited Loki and for Cinder to awake between the long rests. Still injured from the wounds of the holy blade. During his moments of consciousness he instructed them to build a Spluhǫggr. Constructed of old oak and engraved with tools of stone and painted with blood. Cinder wrote a few runes on parchment but passed out before finishing. Lord Fenris finished the sacred charm after realizing what the clever slumbering one had done.

Later that day.

Lord Fenris sat beside Rewa who was wrapped up close to Jennifer who was sound asleep. Rewa ate some of her bread and soup and looked into the fire. She was worried more and more as the days grew colder and her life less carefree.

"She sleeps a lot for someone who predicts an impending doom". Rewa wondered about the plan she felt left in the dark.

"The Fox from Solas has always been awake, even I am troubled by this sleeping figure. I am certain however you will be all right. When it is my time to engage my father and take him with me, promise not to interfere. I cannot assure your safety, here take this".

Fenris lifted his paw, between his toe he un-wedged a teleporter stone and dropped it into Rewa's hand.

"I know this, its Cinder's stone. But how did you get it? And what about this pole we created is this is supposed to protect me and Cinder"?

Rewa placed the teleporter into her pocket and looked at the protective barrier surrounding the shed, a large pole engraved with runes some recognized but not understood. Rewa even knew less the meanings behind the charms attached to the pole; a severed wing from a raven, the heart of a wolf, and a serpent tied onto itself.
It was rather disgusting to look at for any longer she glanced back at her meal and felt she could not finish it.

"The stone was given to Delliah, perhaps she forgot it and returned to the mountains with her young, although I would have caught her scent. Perhaps it?s a spare, it was found out front by the walkway. This pole, yes, it will protect you. You must have faith in things you do not understand for those you have faith in believe in it".

Rewa smiled feeling better. "I wouldn?t have thought of it that way". She spooned her soup and glanced at the Spluhǫggr. "Ick"! She spit her soup out and ran inside to the bathroom.

"Where is that cursed toilet at? It was here last time..Did he move it over there again"? Rewa ran back outside passing Fenris and the sleeping weirdo. Fenris Chuckled at her and looked around spotting it fro his great height.

"Its behind the woodpile along the wildflowers". He chuckled watching her go over to it, funny he wondered why she was giving him a dirty look.

"I got to use this, do you mind"?! She ducked below the woodpile and sat after the wolf looked away.

"What is he thinking putting the toilet out here, does it even work"? She looked around in the darkness from what she could see if it was daylight it would be a beautiful scenery, still it was rather odd to move it out here. "Then again this is coming from an elf whom isn't all there even as a human". She chuckled some as she finished up and to her surprise; the toilet worked even the faucet, which she hadn?t noticed before, worked fine. "Oh god, I thought you were strange before".

Fenris laughed when Rewa came into view, she rested her hands at her sides staring at him. The wolf lord fell silent and ate his meal in peace, she giggles to herself and wrapped her self up in the blanket.

"Why don't you just use the bedroom inside"? The wolf spoke up after finishing off one deer, he pulled over another dead animal a bear this time.

"Because, I don?t feel like it".

Fenris grinned and bit into the bears flesh and chewed. "Don't you trust me with the book or do you not want to be without your lover? That?s it, isn?t it"?

Rewa ignored him but she would have said both were reasons enough to remain outside.

Morning had came on Plygrethia, it's light slowly seeping into the brush pines in the forest and tall oaks. The illumination rose over the hilltop and cast a shadow that made the night's escape to Rhy'Din and other distant lands.

Rewa awoke finding herself alone in the blankets, the fire slowly burning away to nothing. Fenris sat quietly looking at her, he had kept his word not to eat her or take the book for his own. He smiled and she returned it but then frowned.

"Where is Cinder"?

"Out on the beach, he said something about being alone".

"Oh, alright. Is he doing much better then"? She stood up from out of the blanket and crouched near the warmth of the flame.

"It's hard to say, though the Saint's Tear is subsiding, his eyes were not burned out like before, he lost a lot of blood. For a mortal he is impressive".

She smiled some feeling better if a Lord could be impressed. She walked over the pathway leaning over the dunes and stopped at the hill watching the elf quietly. Cinder was standing still in the water naked at knee length. His arms open wide greeting the morning sun; apparently the cold weather hadn't much affect of him today. She waked down the sands and headed toward him, she looked at the clothes he had worn previously, lying in the sand. She looked at the fresh bandages dropped a bit further away.

"Are you alright Cinder"?

The elf turned around, he smiled some the saint?s tear still curled around his face but his eyes were the beautiful hazel she loved looking into. Eyes of a poet, a daydreamer. He walked slowly out of the waters holding his side.

"I'm almost better, still I need a lot of rest. Red, how are you"? He pulled himself onto the sands gently and watched the sun

Rewa nodded picking up the clothes and sat beside him.

"You think it will happen today"? She laid the clothes gently in his lap; he nodded wiping some salt water from his eyes.

"Yeah it's going to be over with. I guess we should look more closely at adventures that are offered before we look into them."

She held the medallion firmly and kissed his cheek. "Did you know this was all going to happen, I mean that book tells events"?

"Well not all events, I wasn't expecting this, I could have prevented my wounds if I had known".

"Ich liebe dich. Ich liebe sie". She looked away not knowing if he could understand her feelings she felt as if she betrayed him.

Jennifer touched her shoulder gently, Rewa turned around surprised, and she was blushing.

"ICH ausf?hren Liebe, sie Rewa, aber. Sie k?nnen Ich bin ein Elfe. ICH Wille immer sein ein Elfe , wenn es doeant Belang ihnen , Kuss mich".

Rewa smiled and stood kissing Jennifer?s hand, which turned back to Cinder's she kissed it and helped him stand. "Je vous aime trop de , Cinder".

"No French mine isn't so good".

They walked back up the hill and Cinder put back on the buttoned top and skirt, he eased back down onto the blanket and rested.

"Oh, Cinder this is yours, Fenris found it out front". Rewa dropped the teleporter stone into his hands. It was a perfectly polished stone in blues and greens.

"Thank you, I suppose Delliah has forgotten how important this stone is. I suppose being a mother is making her forget things these days". He chuckled some and handed it back.

"You keep it safe for me Red"?

"Sure, but I thought we could use it when Loki comes back after Fenris drags him onto the rock".

"Hmm, that is not written in the book, we will do as it had been written, no changes of destiny for me".

She didn't know it then but had she; she would have never given the stone back just then.

Fenris stood and perched his front paws firm on the earth he saw the skies open up; paper balloons fell from the sky inside frogs hopped out as they made contact. Rewa and Fenris squashed a few of them as Cinder closed his eyes. Loki appeared as the sky closed back up, he appeared with a contract and a masked figure behind him.

"Loki what are you doing here"? Rewa demanded.

"Oh Hush"! He pointed at her and flung her body across the backyard hitting a tree, she fell over instantly".

"You have bothered me ever since you managed to steal a golden apple, oh yes I knew of it, does little for me now that you have eaten it and shared it with that elf". He glared at the wolf and looked surprised for a moment and then his lips curled walking over to him.

"Well, hello my son. Are you free now? Do the gods know of this? I am sure Tyr would love to have his other arm taken away".

He chuckled some and looked at the elf.

"Wake up Cinder, you know you shouldn't keep me waiting, I know you haven't fulfilled our agreement, so I must take your life and the book.
Looks like you will not be getting to the Yggdrasill to climb your way into your world after all".

Cinder opened his eyes and grinned, black as pitch they turned and once more his face was littered with the trails of the saints tear. Blood came out from his mouth and his body dimmed absorbing the light around him. He stood taking up his spear, which appeared from out of nowhere.

"I will speak slowly so a fool can understand me, Loki, you will be bound. Now Fenris"!

Loki turned to Fenris and caught Cinder out of the corner of his eye; the elf charged with haste, his spear curved. Casting crescent blades from the spear they tore through the contract and the mysterious figure, a minstrum official. They were behind everything once again. The crescents did little to Loki only distracting him further as Fenris dragged him closer to the rock.

Rewa shook herself off and stood with the help of the tree. She pulled out her rifle and popped a few round off into the minstrum official that had shot lightning out at the elf. Cinder deflected the spell and continued his rampage to Loki, helping drag him over to the rock.

"Oh, father you will enjoy what awaits you on the other realm. Will anything weep for you, besides Mother?? The giant wolf clenched down onto Loki's leg harder and stood onto the rock. Loki Had broke free tearing his leg from the mouth of Fenris. The mad god locked his son back to the rock and threw the sword Nagnuinumer the blight once more at Cinder. The sword struck true one more stopping the elf dead in his tracks he fell over. By the time Loki could gloat he was being pulled back into his rightful realm, Fenris clenched tightly onto his father, Loki tried to reach for the sword but was unable, he pulled the elf down with them as the three disappeared. Cinder turned his head slowly holding the sword stuck in him and looked to Rewa who was utterly shocked at which happened. Cinder moved his lips slowly, she knew what he had said.

?I love you, I hope to see you soon?.Rewa ran to the stone but it vanished as soon as she got there. The pond in the garden dried up. She knelt beside its edge and cried. Cinder?s ravens flew down beside Rewa and cawed loudly their wings flapping, they watched Rewa for moments on end and then chased the Minstrum offical who was running away. The birds devoured him, a black swarm carried off what little was left of him, one of the Ravens dropped the book in Rewa?s Lap before they flew off into the morning sun.

Rewa picked herself up holding to the book, she wiped her tears which seemed endless and sat on the bench beside the home of her love. She couldn't think of living an eternity and not knowing what had become of her.

"Jen, Cinder, why do you have to be so stubborn"!

She cried looking at the sun rise higher, it had been an hour now and she was left alone. Silence, she wanted anything to cut through the silence, she stared at the pond dried up it's wildflowers softly blowing in the breeze, where the wolf had dragged Loki they were ripped up from the ground and the soil was tilled by his massive paws.

"What am I supposed to do with this book"? She looked at a few ravens who had gathered looking down from atop the water drain. The preened their feathers and stetched their wings, they didnt reply. just sitting and staring at her.

What seemed like an eternity were only moments in time. After the three had fallen from m the land of Plygrethia. They fought for survival until Fenris signaled the union of wolves. Garmr?s ethereal spirit was summoned a monstrous wolf who seemed even larger than Lord Fenris. Sk?ll a wolf with eyes burning like the sun appeared along with Hati a wolf with a cold presence much like a winter?s moon. Many wolves appeared and chased Loki away. Fenris thanked the elf and the elf bowed respectfully.

Cinder escaped the blackness of Hel and fires, which brewed around him. He would return to Plygrethia, return to his love. The Trickster god and the wolves shall await Ragnarok not knowing what will become of their fates. Freeing Fenris from his binds was the first test of fate for the gods. Cinder?s had written this down many years before when he had attempted to become a god and failed.

Cinder sat next to a skeleton long since retired to the ways of dust that was like sand, as dust covered the ground for miles. Flowing on the dust was rich red water, salt of blood he thought, the sea.

He found himself now in the shores of the dead. It was his plan from the beginning to commandeer the Naglfar and use it to surface Lemuria. He reached for the skeleton?s wineskin and smiled.

?At least there are some comforts in this realm?. He drew the opening to his lips.

?You would think that wouldn?t you?? Spoke a bearded man, his armor worn, a drinking horn tied to his belt hanging close to his sword. He sat beside the elf and stretched out his arm holding the horn.

?Bragi, what are you doing here? Come to pay your respects to me? Where is your father??

?Ho now Fox, I?ve not come to lecture or anything?. He nodded after the elf finished filling his horn up, the man drank heartily and grinned.

?So you?ve finally come to free the Naglfar from the underworld? Would that also mean once you are done with the ship you shall return it??

Cinder laughed and finished the wine and tossed the skin aside.

?I?ve not time to fool with gods, especially a poet?. He knew Loki would be it?s next captian. He was glad to have freed Lord Fenris; if there were a god now worthy of praise it would have been the wolf.

?And poetry and songs mean nothing to you anymore? You are still a poet I can feel it. Your god was pleased with you once, if she had survived she would have wanted you to continue to be happy, sing and be as you were. I know I am just a god for others but still we knew of her, try not to forget us as it would be forgetting her?.
?I know?.. Bragi, at the end of what you may see as your days play an old tune on the mountains loud and clear?.

Cinder walked away and headed along down the shore. He could make Naglfar docked at the ends of Hel?s domain. It would have had guards but the hounds have all followed the calls of the other wolves. But he knew that already.

He boarded the undead ship, it?s odor hideous and appearance could have made Rewa lose her lunch once more he thought with a grin. He summoned forth a crew of wraiths, his magic worked much easier in a realm that hadn?t swayed from the paths of old. The sails tightened despite no wind in the underworld and the ship carried him onto his journey. Across the murk he sailed on passing the shifting tides of fate.

He grinned, ordering the wraiths to return to the void as he was about to make his return to the living. They came to a giant fall up ahead and he steered the vessel over it.

?Oh, Schisse!!

The ship landed onto the waters and massive waves were created. The boat was just outside the stretch of the southern rim of Plygrethia. Cinder let go of the wheel and fell down onto the deck, he rolled himself over on his back smiling, laughing as the sun of the world glared down at him.
