((OOC: Hello everyone and thank you for keeping patient with me. We're finally here. First thing I would like to get out there is that there is no rush to send in your performance posts. The timeline for the exhibition does indeed go to December 4th, but that merely dictates the end of the presentations and evaluation. There will be a slight period allotted after that to give people time to vote properly. At the conclusion of the poll, the judges SECRET scores will be added up as they were made note of during the competition. No judge is to give out his score prematurely.

I would like to request everyone keep your fingers off the poll until you've seen the submissions HERE of who you're considering since I'm going to go ahead and put the poll up early. But if you already know who you're voting for? Even then, wait and see what the other contestants have to offer! Submissions will go HERE. The poll will remain open until the 14th! So plenty of time to get your submission in and make that vote count! Please limit one vote per character. Get busy! Remember, the poll only controls 3 points on the final scores. The judges control 30. Not a lot on its own, but still potentially a game changer. While we're on that, let's talk about the submissions.

If you are one of the ten finalists, i.e. Katt, Leda, Corea, Seiri, Tara, Janis, Freia, Atae, Techichi, or Nima, then here is where you've been waiting to post. Your post should contain but is not limited to: A picture to accompany your post, IC catwalking, and answering the judges questions. If your picture doesn't close your vote, your descriptive hipswaying is going to have to do the job!

After initial replies are made, everything rp-related will carry over to the General City Things thread, so take everything over there after you're done selling the goods here.

Also! Entrants! See this backstage setup post before you saunter out to the soundtrack of Charles Aznavour for additional background and to make sure Miss South Carolina of Miss Teen USA 2007 fame doesn't repeat itself!

We're not done yet. So get those performances in, and feel free to write yourself in wearing a bathing suit off Koyliak's Mille & Mallie Department store chain, or the Pearle De Causey line or company of your choice! Have fun.))

Let There Be Bikinis

A conference hall's noisy whispering and pre-show chatter filled out much of Daichi's Banquet Hall in the main castle that was not already filled with cameras running checks, news teams running mic checks, appearance checks, spectators performing is-this-seat-taken checks, and the staff and judges themselves conversing amongst one another about today's evaluation. Today was special.

The normally decorative tables to the usually hundred-gold-a-plate dinners were cleared out in favor of burgundy cushioned theater chairs, and they were filling fast. Spectators filed in with their press pins, tape recorders, digital cameras, and post-show interview ambitions with them. The stage itself was black and stickered with guide markers for the catwalk to the audience and the one back to Christopher Andan's side where they would face the judges. A few sandbags had been poured out at the back of the stage and decorated with a beach towel, beach ball, and a few tanning lotions just for the visual of what the competition stood for.

Backstage, behind the curtain, the women were dressed and done up and ready to come out. With the numbered ribbons on the fronts of their suits, they had traded some of their high hundred digits for single ones. They were as follows. Katt wore #1, Leda #2, Corea #3, Seiri #4, Tara #5, Janis #6, Freia #7, Atae #8, Tetch #9 and Nima the #10 ribbon.

Chris walked to where he would stand and was handed his microphone already powered on. He coolly shook any jitters from his person and faced the crowd with an inviting and thankful smile.

The crowd became silent as the proceedings began to come underway.

?...Five years ago, a few people got it into their heads that Adenna should host a bathing suit competition. They didn't think much more on it than that, but that was okay. We were able to see what was... and what could be.? Chris smiled and dipped his head as the lights darkened and a projector made up on the blank back wall with what appeared to be a powerpoint of some kind. The first page was shown to the audience.

?The first year was relatively no budget, and yet the organizers were able to raise enough funds to get our library fully furnished... including a fully furnished children's section.? Chris led to the next slide.

?The second year had a relatively low budget that was appropriately spent on turning the contest into the form of pageantry that it is today. This competition was widely celebrated, and welcome to community morale, as well, since we were just coming out of a time of war. Again, we were able to up walls to further the betterment of our community and overall quality of life.? Chris flipped to the next slide.

?The third year we changed venues to the castle to accommodate our largest contest to date with over seven-hundred contestants. The funds earned from this competition were enough to build a music hall and studio that is used today to give our children the opportunity to learn a musical instrument, something I think is infinitely important in a young person's life.? He flipped to the last and final slide.

?Last year we saw record-breaking entrants again, topping the seven-hundreds. You may have noticed our city is submerged beneath several outer isles, but it was not always so. And now we are finally affording the repair costs to construct safer tunnels, waterways, and a safer place to call home for everyone.? Chris handed the tiny remote back to one of the staffers as the lights began to come back on.

?If you will all take a moment to check under your seats. You will find a gift basket. This is our small way of saying thank you for coming, for this year we celebrate Rhy'Din's invitation to our city for participation in the Fifth Annual Adenna Swimsuit Competition, and let me say firsthand, their delegates are bringing the competition to us.? Chris said plain but proudly.

Applause.

?I will now introduce you to the judges. From left to right is Harris D'Artanian, holder of innumerable sporting titles of the punching, elbowing, and kneeing variety. Impossible not to recognize with his signature blue hair and razor sharp wit, he brings his sometimes harsh but nevertheless truthful opinion with him wherever he goes. And that has led him here ladies and gentlemen.

?Beside him, Isaac de Porthau. 'Baron du Vallon de Bracieux de Pierrefonds.' Musketeer of the Guard, protector of King and Country and life's favourite lover...but, he is better known as Porthos and wishes you all, Friends, to address him as such.

?On the right end of the table is a family man and friend to many of you. Dyarhk. A well-rooted community member and contributor, he's also very honest and sincere; the exact qualities we're looking for, and you would expect, in a judge of this competition.

?Now, without further ado, let's begin the Fifth Annual Adenna Swimsuit Competition!?

Applause.

The music fades in.

?First up is Kathryn Rhysata...? Chris said back to the curtain where the light focused. Poor Katt, so worried about this whole thing and she was up first. Wouldn't even get a chance to see how the others before her handled things. But if Chris' words were true, she wouldn't have anything to worry about but following his instructions. None of them would have to worry. He was there for every one of them with their brief summaries, including their names so they did not have to worry about them. A brief description accompanied the music and the girls' catwalks all the way to the 'question and answer portion' where, with their thank you, would be free to depart.

Smile?

Godlike as always.

Posture?

Shoulders back, chest out, and walking with quite a bit of swag. This wasn't Seirichis first time around when it came to the swimsuit competition. Right hand rose up to give waves while she cast smiles as well as glances to the audience. Hips rockin', long legs struttin', and making damn sure to keep it all to the beat of the music. She'd come to the end of the walkway, give a little twirl to show off the goods. Heel clicked down onto the ground the moment that spin was over so that she could expose her back to the audience.. and with that? Those arms rose up and elbows bent, here comes the flexing of those biceps -- among the other muscles she had been showing off. The strut would then come back into play as she made her way over to stand next to the man with the mic; Christopher Andan.

She'd let out a laugh and gave a few more waves to the people, but then it was time to deal with Q&A so she'd strike an at ease pose. Chest out, of course, with thighs lightly spread and hands at her hips. It was time to answer some questions!

The first was Dyarhk, who got a wink from the Ichi.

"I'm a walking, talking, fighting billboard of inspiration. As a Siovanui - every time I walk out of my house I'm giving the young girls who walk this GREAT city hope that one day they can achieve what me and only a few others have gained. Haha! I see a lot of hopefuls in this very audience!"

Many of the Adennian citizens, if not all of them within the crowd would cheer. Of course they would! Seirichi was their protector -- their cities pride!

Harris was next. A sly smirk fell over Seirichis plush lips as she looked to him. Making sure to catch his sights with her own; if only for a moment. Maybe even a staring contest would begin!

"Best song? To describe me?" How tame. She thought he'd try and do something different! But in a way.. that question was quite hard for her to pick. Seirichi needed to think quick as every second could prove to be a problem. "At the beginning." She'd say with a firm nod and a bright smile. "I view my life as a wonderful journey, and I hope it stays that way for as long as possible."

The last was a man she remembered from the Red Dragon Inn. If only she had some false vampire teeth! There was no delay in her answer. "Letters can be burnt. Gifts can be broken or lost. Why not give the best thing I can offer a person I love? Myself. It's that intimate bond that brings people closer to one another.. and I bet many in the audience would agree with that." She'd then give off a laugh. Speaking of the audience. One of them had caught her attention. She'd give a quick wink to the tall dark skinned woman sitting in the front row.

It seemed her moment was over. Seirichi would give the crowd one last final wave before making her way back to allow another woman her chance to go.

Katt Batten

Date: 2011-12-02 01:39 EST
Throughout the whole week she didn't feel like she belonged so it stood to question on how.. How in the hell did she make it in the top ten?!

While waiting to be called she found herself swatting at some person trying to spray something so her 'suit didn't ride up'. Unlike other contestants, and she knew this would hurt her score in the end, she wasn't wearing a bikini. Lets face it. A bikini didn't suit who she was. At least not the skimpy kind that were nothing more than bits of fabric and string. There were also a few extra additions that were 'odd' when it came to her. Unlike the other ladies (more than likely) she wasn't going to be wearing heeled shoes..or shoes period. Her feet were bare and she'd be walking the catwalk just like that! You don't wear heels to the beach!

"Are you nervous?"

She heard the woman ask as she tried to touch up Katt's near non-existing makeup. She really didn't see the point in makeup. Her lashes were naturally thick and dark, framing her doll like eyes without the need of eyeliner or mascara. It would be a bit much to add them. Earth tone eyeshadow was barely brushed on her lids and a clear cherry gloss to her lips. That was it!

"Mrm...Yeah..but.." She gave her word and she would keep it. Till the end.

The woman smiled, "Just have fun with it," she suggested and went on her way to another of the contestants.

Katt found herself alone once again. Fingers curled to the mechanical wing that hanged from the black cord at her neck. Nervous. Yeah..she was nervous. What made things worse was she was going out first! She could hear Chris on the other side of the curtain speaking. The more he spoke the more the nervous lump began to rise in her throat.

She had time to run..she did..

?First up is Kathryn Rhysata...?

...Time ran out...

Crap! Releasing the half wing she released a heavy sigh. Might as well get it over with right? She was first..got to get it over with first!

Her bare feet went into movement, her walk was as it always was. Silent and graceful, like she was slinking her way along. The subtle sway of her frame was by nature, nothing added and surely nothing faked.

The choice she wore was two piece of course, created of white gossamer silk and wrapped her frame as if it was made just for her. Just enough cleavage to leave something to the imagination wandering and the shorts hiked ever so slightly along her thighs. About her hip was what should of been a sarong but was folded and turned into a sash that tied at hip. Detached sleeves fastened to her upper arms flowed to her wrists in a splendor of opalescent silk, swaying and kissing at her sides as she moved.

http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab276/kattstrife/Katt%20Rhysata/Render5.png

She stopped short of the marker that was indicated without looking down. Instead her doll like eyes swam over the mass that surrounded her. If this was a battlefield she would of had no problem but being eyed..judged like she was..it sent nervous jitters right down to her toes. Sweeping a foot forward she jutted a hip just enough to indicate a dexterous turn about for the crowd. Once she had came full circle she tilted her head and a smile graced across her lips ever so smoothly.

A short moment of time before she swept forward and made her way to Chris. He was given a ghost of a smile, echoing just how nervous she was before turning herself to the judges. Hands settled on her hips, elbows turned out in akimbo with feet slightly separated and the left poised out before the right.

She knew all three and knew one particular was going to an interesting outcome. Even still she offered a light smile as her doll like eyes passed over them.

They settled on Dyarhk when he first spoke. "What is the most important thing men can learn from women?"

The question was a hard one actually and she had a feeling he knew that when directed the question at her. For a brief moment her eyes closed, giving the question the thinking over it deserved. "The most important thing... Most answers I would give would be something that can tilt to either men or women. I guess that strength isn't just physical but it is also emotional. Also maybe how to be a better multitasker." She grinned a bit. "I still think women do that better then men.." Hey she was honest, give her credit!

With that answer it seemed Harris was next to speak up. "What is the first thing you plan to do if you win?"

That was an easy answer and something she only told one person. "If I win I plan on using the money towards gifts and Christmas feasts for the orphanages and families that aren't able to afford Christmas this year. I know it is sorta lame but that is what I want to do. I plan on doing it even if I don't win." Just the funds would help!

Next was Porthos and she didn't know why she feared his question. Probably because she knew the origin it would come from. A subject she sucked at.. "The best kiss of your entire life with a perfect stranger or a candlelight dinner with your closest friend? Tell me why."

Yep..she had been right.

All three of the judges probably knew her answer before she even spilled it. Why? Because a stranger, best kiss of her entire life or not, would get himself slugged for kissing her. Duh! Not only that but there was more to that. Her eyes dipped to the mechanical wing against her chest and a fond smile made itself known. Doll greens raised up to Porthos. "Candlelight dinner with my closest friend. Because even if the kiss is the best in the world...with a stranger it would be uncomfortable. I would rather spend an evening with my best friend..a person who knows me..who I don't need to explain myself to. A person I trust and feel safe in the company of." And there was obviously someone who was in mind, that smile never fading.

Thinking herself done she was just about ready to turn when she heard Dyarhk pipe up again, "And who are you wearing?"

Instantly she spluttered and stared at Dyarhk as if he had done lost his mind. A light brush of pink began to creep into her cheeks and just along the bridge of her nose. "W-What?" Yes..she squeaked. In front of who knows how many people she became a church mouse.

Dyarhk laughed, "Your designer, Katt!"

Oh..Well that made more sense. The blush remained even as she answered, maybe a touch shamed in her answer. "I am. I made it myself specially for this event."

With an embarrassed glance to Chris and the okay that she was done with her questions she quickly turned on her toes and began her way back down the walk. Yes..walked..even though she wanted to sprint! Little did she know she was a hip swaying her heart shaped rump all the way back down the catwalk and eventually disappearing back behind the curtain.

((OOC: Janis' Q&A))

http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc402/darkkarr/janis01.jpg

Backstage it had sounded like Katt had done fine to Janis. She didn't have a whole lot to worry about, personally. She'd made it to the finals once before, and after that tension was gone the first time, it really wasn't as big of a deal anymore. That cool would probably help her out, if anything.

Janis tossed her hair to lean her head back and point closed eyes to the roof overhead. She could hear the people outside, and it aided only to speed up the time until she would be called out.

?Up next is Janis. Her family runs a pottery barn in Kings Honor District and when she's not busy slaving away at an oven with hot clay, she's helping her community by serving guard duty. At twenty-four years of age, Janis has already graduated as both a Master Tri-Blade and a Master Lower Templar in Victor Maxey Rial's knighthood academy and Rahea's ninja school, respectively. And with such a busy agenda and set of skills under her belt, she's one of Adenna's shining stars of beauty and capability.? Christopher said into his microphone while he observed her walk to the edge of the stage before the flashing cameras and then come back to join him on her corresponding marker.

That Chris Andan sure knew how to talk. He was a good pick for contest director, Janis figured. Whatever made her look good while she completed her walk. She didn't like heels, but there were times when she had to wear them. This was one such time. Luckily she hadn't taken a misstep yet. Deep breath.

The first question was given by Dyarhk yet again. Janis eased right in to work. ?Before I die I wish to achieve the status of Siovanui like our city's creator, Solucun. Because it is the dream of every Adennian woman starting from a very young age, it is also my dream.? Bam. She found her groove spot. Smile flashed the moment she had been done speaking and given to the crowd.

Next Porthos would ask his question.

?Realistically, I cannot take a lover until after I become a Siovanui, so my love will have to wait until I have accomplished my life's goals, and if he is truly worth it, then he will respect and understand how important my faith and beliefs are to the Siovanui Sorte first and foremost.? Janis said very devoutly.

This was something the crowd dug on. They got what the dream was, and what it meant to get there. The fact she was sticking to her beliefs scored her some of the crowd's understanding. But it was the judge's understanding she needed to get, and two-thirds of them were outsiders. Maybe a foundering answer after all.

Maybe the third question. Harris up to bat.

?If there's something strange in your neighborhood, who you gonna call?? he asked.

Poor Janis. She took him so seriously. ?Obviously I am on call for my neighborhood at all times, and I will always be there to protect my community just like I would expect them to be there for me when I needed it, because that is the kind of community we are and have to pass on to further generations.? the storybook-sounding answer. If only she'd known what the Ghostbusters was, then she might not be smiling to the crowd like she had just won the competition.

Chris couldn't face palm right there beside her. His even being there risked her performance if he sneezed or scratched his nose even! He had to remain statue-like until she was done. It didn't stop him from feeling bad for her though. Janis sealed the deal heading back to the curtain at the end of the stage, waving energetically beside her pearly white smile and throwing in some extra saucy sashays in with it. She'd make them remember her performance. Oh, they'd remember alright.

Leda

Date: 2011-12-02 05:47 EST
http://sinvenus.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Ashley-Greene-wonder-woman-9.jpg

Leda genuinely had no idea what all the fuss was about backstage. The nervous tension was palpable, especially to her - the child of a demon, who could and was quite happily feeding off it to bolster her ever more formidable supply of magical energy. She listened with half an ear to the instructions being handed out by their host for the evening, Chris Andan, as one of the make-up ladies fussed around her, though her mind was idly on the fact that she should be proud of herself for not giving into the temptation to seduce any of the judges.

Of course, that didn't mean she wasn't going to cheat just a little bit when she went out there. The aura of carnal seduction and intimate invitation that coiled around her was completely natural, after all; it was holding it in that required effort on her part, and everyone did keep telling her to relax.

Like that skittish little Rhysata girl, Leda stood out by not wearing a bikini. In fact, what she was clad in could hardly be called attire at all. Thanks to an ingenious little bit of hocus-pocus devised by Ivinia and then stolen by Leda herself, the fabric of the swimsuit she was adorned with was, in fact, light itself, carefully doctored and tailored to wrap about her lithe form with its generous curves to look as though it had been painted on. And, of course, the polished steel cuffs of her master on her wrists at all times. A half succubus who felt completely at ease with displaying her naked form clad only in colored light on a public stage? Where was the harm in that?

She had bowed to peer pressure in wear shoes, however, conceding that she should perhaps give the impression of having made some effort, at least, to be one of the girls. Sand-colored heels, fully three inches of impossibly thin stiletto, adorned her feet, thin silk straps wrapping about her calves to hug to every minute muscular motion as she walked.

There was nothing even the most natural of make-up could do to disguise the alien cast of her eyes, black on black iris and pupil that betrayed deep within the flickering flame of the Hell in which she had been born, but as one of the women had said, in a rare moment of actual connection with the contestants, it didn't matter how different you looked. It was all about attitude. With her dark hair tossed and tousled to perfection, allowed to spill down over her back with the barest sweep of magic to keep it from obscuring her face, Leda waited patiently for her turn to go on.

"Next we have Leda Nyx ..."

As instructed, she allowed a moment for her vital statistics to sink into the audience's consciousness before extending the lithe line of her leg to walk out and into view, her hands held loosely at her sides, and her very best come-hither smile brightening the sultry shadow of her face. Shoulders back, head held high, she moved easily in time with the beat of the music, enjoying the attention that was lavished on her as she advanced in full view of everyone there as her hips took full advantage of the situation to sway wickedly with every step.

As she reached the red marker, her right hand rose to balance on her hip, the position accentuating the curve of her torso and spine as she turned for the audience's approval, her smile warming even further as she relaxed just a little of her iron-clad control over her innate emanation of difficult-to-resist intimate invitation, pausing once she had completed her turn to allow the sultry tilt of her smile to capitalise on the effect. Drawing it all back under control, Leda stepped away from the red marker and moved to stand beside Chris, offering him a playful little shimmy of a shoulder to go with her smile before returning her hand to her hip and giving her attention to the judges.

"What is your favorite childhood memory?"

For a split second, Leda was utterly nonplussed by the question, wondering if Dyarkh had actually read anything about her background at all. Ah, well, if in doubt ... be honest.

"My favourite childhood memory would have to be of the day I was almost bought from my master by a rival of his," she informed the judges, black eyes meeting each gaze with wicked confidence before returning to Dyarhk. His question, after all. "It was the only day in my childhood when I was not whipped with flames for being half-human."

Well, he had asked, hadn't he? Leda found herself hoping like hell no one at the Institute was here to watch this; she would never live down that depressing insight into her past. Her eyes travelled to Harris, her expression not even twitching to betray the friendship there.

"Which judge has the best hair?"

That question was a gift as far as the half-succubus was concerned. She let her smile widen into a naughty grin, her husky, suggestive laugh making itself known.

"Well, that all depends on which area of hair you're talking about, doesn't it?" she chuckled. "From what I can see now, each man sitting behind that table has the best head hair for his own personal appearance, and one would hope, chose it to be that way. As to more intimate areas?" She paused, wetting her lips with deliberate care before continuing. "Why don't you all come and see me sometime after the show, and I'll make an informed decision about that."

The audience laughed with her as she stated her invitation, glancing to Chris as though including him as well, She'd made no secret of her heritage and preferences throughout her stay here; why start now? Her gaze travelled to the third judge, another whom she knew of by reputation only.

"In your opinion, what attire best portrays the essence of romance when dining with that special man?"

Ah, now, this was a question she had an answer for, though it wasn't a situation she had ever actually encountered. Her life was made up of interludes, not intimate t?te-?-t?tes, and she had yet to meet anyone who might even remotely be considered special by her own personal standards. But she had an answer, at least.

"The essence of romance with that special somebody is comfort in their presence," she answered, her voice throbbing warm with the promise of that possibly happening sometime in her future, perhaps even with someone here. "It shouldn't matter what you wear. But my personal preference? Something loose and feminine, pretty but not overly decorated, and for him, whatever he is comfortable with that matches the mood of the evening. Time spent with a special somebody has nothing to do with attire, and everything to do with you."

Her questions answered, Leda felt just a tiny piece of tension peel itself from her shoulders, relaxing her posture even more as she smiled to the judged, to Chris, and to the audience, offering them all a wink and a wave before sashaying back down the catwalk and out of sight.

"Well," she sighed, grinning at the other contestants, "that was fun."

((OOC: Atae's Q&A))

http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/438/atae02.jpg

Chris drew a few circles rolling his microphone around by his wrist in that brief downtime from contestant to contestant. Letting the last contestant safely return behind the curtain and trying to maintain that seamless continuation was something not easily executed, and when done right, you won't even notice it.

?Next up is a woman who needs no introduction. She's walked away with the crown once before and is the woman responsible for the current state of the Adenna Swimsuit Competition. Ladies and Gentlemen, contestant #8.?

Walking out with comely legs that worked similar in effect to a hypnotic wheel, Atae proceeded to her first marker in telling heeled steps that told her bikini top's struggle with its cargo. Her long auburn hair radiated health and shine when she gave it a toss to partially spill over her shoulder for her award-winning smile and pose.

?One of this year's senior competitors, you wouldn't know it by looking at her. She has demonstrated her broad range of talents in efforts that can be seen throughout the city including managing a dance school for young girls, running a restaurant on the coast, teaching a Siovanui training class, and being one of the founding members of this city as a functioning community. Many know her as an inspiration. I know her as Atae.? Chris finished his little confident grin to the crowd before stepping forward and turning to face the judges with her beside him now. A brief applause segued into the question and answer portion.

Harris very briefly fixes his hair before getting to the first question. ?Boxers or briefs??

?Briefs is more my generation, and I prefer them to boxers for support in things like sports because they don't ride up. No, I am not a supporter of boxers,? a brief laugh. ?If you're a man and you're not twelve, you had better not let me catch you wearing them, either. Boxers are for boys.? Atae smiled proudly behind her opinion, and let out a brighter one when the audience got a little chuckle out of that.

Dyarhk placed his elbows up on the table and leaned forward, as if to close the distance between he and Atae while he prepared his question. ?Hello Contestant #8. How do you feel about interspecies marriage??

The audience curiously whispered back and forth to one another. What a controversial subject!

?I think it varies. Immortals wed mortals every day. Vampires fall in love, too, just like anyone does. I think it's great. And I can't see a Siovanui woman being with anyone other than a good, mortal-blooded Adennian male. But I draw the line with furry bi-pedal beasts or wolf-dogs. There's something wrong with the people that marry those.?

Last but not least was Porthos' question.

?Describe your perfect kiss..?

?I love a man who knows how to kiss properly, and not boringly. Not just my lips, but all over me, all my little hot spots, sensitive and tender areas. But I also enjoy more indirect paths with a little exploration. Taking it slow, experimentation, and unpredictability are all welcome ideas. It's basically his performance. By body's an instrument, and if you play me right, I'll sing beautifully for you.?

A very positive crowd response followed and, as good manners dictate, was always met with a beaming smile of appreciation from the contestant.

?Annnd, who are you wearing?? Dyarhk asked.

Like it were a badge of honor, she twisted her torso from side to side once more in showcase before announcing it to the judges' panel. ?Koyliak VanDuran-Simon. The Rock Candy Swimwear Collection. Thank you!?

?Alright. Give a round of applause for her.? Chris said back into his microphone over to the audience and signaling the end of the question and answer portion. And while the departing image wasn't that of a thong-clad contestant but a more covering bikini bottom, a different sex appeal was presented that had not yet been, and it was that of a mature older woman that still brought the game to the table with the youngbloods. There was that, and this was the sort so often seen being readjusted on the beach (the competition's theme) for trapping sand inside them. An aggravation for the wearer. Just another joy of the season for the men. One final wave and Atae was back behind the curtain.

Techichi

There was nothing like standing in line with a bunch of sexy, fit women, to remind you of your sticking out baby bump. But that was all it did; remind Techichi that she was showing. She wasn't very far along, but it wouldn't have mattered if she was. Only would have been even more condemning to her opponents to be beaten by a pregnant woman. This idea was the reason behind the muttley chuckle of a grin on her face. She planned on rubbing it in the women's faces all the harder if she won.

'You got beat by a knocked-up b*tch!' she would tell them. A snicker.

Christopher Andan watched Atae leave and then paid his eyes back over to the judges to take a step near the edge closer to them and pay them an ear. There was something Dyarhk had been trying to ask him that the audience wasn't quite close enough to hear. They would never know, either.

?Okay,? Chris said, stepping back where he was supposed to be with his dress shoes stepping right there beside the contestant's marker. In his sunshiny blond hair had been some product that gave it a spiky sort of ruffling that was popular among the younger crowds. Good luck trying to convince Chris Andan of his actual age. ?Next contestant. Contestant, number, nine.?

Out Tetch walked, proving that the best really had been saved for last. A heart shape was what her hips had been going for, slimming down her legs were they became sharper, perfect lines. A healthy glaze coated them, and those hips themselves were given her hands when she came before the audience for her first stop and pose.

Techichi was a crowd-favorite. She was only one of two living Siovanui right now, and the first one of the two at that. The people were very conscious of her power. Its reputation preceded it. As were the people very conscious of her temper. Conversations, let alone genuine smiles, were just not associable with the Ichi. Yet here she was doing them.

?You have to admire her boldness. Get this folks, now a grandmother, Techichi here is competing again this year and looking in fine form, though she seems to be showing off a more maternal side than we're used to seeing in contestants. Isn't that great to see. Also a past winner of the crown, this ageless Siovanui woman is looking to become a two-time winner, and it looks like she's not planning on letting life's little surprises get in her way.? Chris put on a stagnant smile and held his microphone-holding wrist at his front while Tetch came over to him and struck final pose in preparation of the judges' questions.

Harris took the mounted microphone from Porthos' tablespace and held it before his mouth. ?Is cheating an acceptable way to win if you don't get caught?? he held it for a moment before sitting it back down.

Tetch smiled like the antagonist she was. ?Of course not. You can't rub winning in the other contestants' faces that way. It's much more humiliating to beat them normally.?

Damn that Harris. Dyarhk had to stretch to reclaim the microphone. The blue-haired wonder certainly wasn't helping. ?What does family mean to you?? he asked.

No one-worded answers. She knew this. But this wasn't a complicated question to Techichi. She wasn't about to make it one. ?Everything. Absolutely everything.? she said.

Porthos took the microphone last and seemed to narrow his eyes in warning of an involved question coming up. ?Mademoiselle, at what point does a girl become a woman??

?When she stops being boring. When she stops being needy. When she stops being fake. Basically, when she stops acting like a Rhy'Din woman.? Tetch said to mixed crowd reaction.

A hell of a thing to say to a room filled with Rhy'Din citizens and Adennian citizens whom were trying to make a good impression. But it was Chris who saved the day.

?Wow.? He laughed that breath that got picked up on the microphone. He held it away while he continued to laugh before bringing it back to his more composed self a few moments later. ?I would like to remind everyone that the contestants' opinions do not reflect our own.? Chris turned that humor fisherman's grin over to the judges before bringing it back to the chuckling audience. ?Contestant number nine, everybody. Give her a hand.?

And they gave her one, if it was a forced one.

But that was Tetch's charm. However b*tchy, you forgave her because of her body. Why you did, apart from being male, the world may never know. Maybe there was two reasons; two very large reasons.

Corea

http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/9669/swimsuitcompetitioncore.jpg

Corea was a little nervous and felt a little exposed. Something she was working quick in her mind to get rid of and be rid of before she walked out past that curtain. She excitedly grabbed onto her other arm's elbow behind her back and swayed several times in ritualistic fashion to try and work her out of this butterflies-in-your-tummy like kink. Noticing the other girls, she felt a little more vulnerable than some where they had full straps and she had more of a stringy sort. Among her other worries was her wardrobe malfunctioning. She sighed.

?Coming out next is the currently blonde, but usually cherry-chocolate Corea...? Chris said with ample laughing time for her to start out comfortably and then continue his intro. ?...as contestant number three. This short-haired beauty and mother of three lives a busy life, juggling raising kids, and being an active member in her community here in Adenna. But don't let her cuteness fool you. Coming from her past life, she is an exceptional marksman and is expertly disciplined in a hundred in one ways to make you stop breathing for good. So I wouldn't mess with her!?

Corea got a very strong, albeit quiet reaction out of the judges. She didn't realize it until after she had started heading for Chris that it was probably her shy demeanor that lent itself to their favor. Being 'out there' like she was and still trying to hide herself was a demeanor that performed well with the spectators for whatever reason. Coming up beside Chris, she struck her pose with hands on those large hips of hers and the toss of hair was to hide her deep breath taken, or rather, exchange another bout of nervousness for a sexy disguise of getting rid of it.

?Um...? Dyarhk was a bit unsure of how to go about this question. Didn't matter what he was asking, he was asking it to Corea. It was a silly sort of awkward. He did not pause long. ?Run is through an average day in your life.?

?Of course...? she began, and would take a deep breath to prepare for what she'd say. A clever time-buyer, if it was just the second or two. ?I start my day off with kisses to my husband and children, a nutritious breakfast, and chia latte. My day consists of taking care of my kids, which are a full-time job, and making sure they're all set for the day, including making all their meals. They're my best critics in the kitchen. And I've recently gotten big into shopping for clothes and house decorating, so when I'm not out shopping for cute dresses or a new bedroom set, I'm picking up new skills and hobbies, like my vegetable garden. I'm always trying to learn new things to keep my mind sharp. If it's Saturday, I'm sleeping in.?

Harris had just finished masking a yawn to lean forward in chair and down to the microphone. ?A magician imbues you with musical proficiency. Which instrument would you choose to master??

?I would choose my voice, because it's one of the things I wish I was really good at to be able to do in a public place and surprise people, or late at night between the sheets, but mainly because I love to sing when I'm alone or in the shower, but I don't think I sound really good.?

?I'll listen to you sing anyway!? a random spectator shouts from deep midway in the crowd. A brief spell of laughter is shared by the audience. Corea looks about confusedly, having not heard what was said exactly, except that it was complimentary.

?Alright, alright. Easy back there.? Chris pointed out the culprit before realizing he could tack something on and lighten the mood and still have gotten a point across seriously. ?Please conduct yourself in a serious manner.? he said in his deep voice before discarding all seriousness to waddle his head in laughter before jerking his attention off the crowd and back to the contestant and judges.

Porthos had the last question, and couldn't have looked more curious to hear her answer before he'd even asked it. ?What is the essence of being a woman??

?Sexiness. Because you can look sexy and dress sexy and not be sexy. Sexy comes from inside. It comes from how much you love who you are, and how much you love that he loves who you are, and those apart of your life that you care enough about to look good for. It's those people that turn the average woman into the most beautiful woman in the world.? Corea said, letting one of her hands naturally leave her hip to slide down her thigh.

?Would you care to address your tailor?? Porthos asked.

?Koyliak VanDuran-Simon.? Corea said tucking her lips in after the fact.

?Contestant number three, ladies and gentlemen. Corea. Thank you.? he pointed the way in his giving of thanks with his envelope and bowed his chin to chest very briefly.

?Thank you.? Corea thanked the crowd, nodding a single time with her flashy smile and then headed back. It wasn't so had. She had let loose a little bit. She felt a lot more comfortable now at least. On her way back she gave a long wave to the audience that pumped them up a little bit before she disappeared back behind the curtain.

Nima

Date: 2011-12-03 09:44 EST
Save the best for last.
That's exactly how Nima saw this.
Number 10 wasn't an insult. It was a gift.

Long white locks of hair swayed left and right in perfect timing with those sashaying hips of hers. Those from Liltu within the crowd already in an uproar just by her sight alone.. and what a sight it was. Modesty was something that the woman had been lacking.. and it had a name. Sling Bikini. The fabric itself being oh so thin that one could only wonder how she kept herself within it. Imagination was something a person wouldn't need when they saw her stepping out. ( and let's just say any pictures would prove to be inappropriate to post. ) It's color was black, the only color that would do well to combat against the porcelain pale skin that gave the woman an almost ghostly glow to her.

With every heel step.. with every bounce of her chest that had many men ( and maybe a few women ) within the crowd begging for the fabric to slip even a half an inch, she'd come closer and closer to that red marker. once there she'd do as she was instructed and turned to face the crowd.. and that's when she'd give a bend. Index and middle finger rose up to press to lightly painted lips before pulling away to sign a kiss toward her audience. That exotic arch of her spine wouldn't stay for long. Nima'd rise and begin those steady music inspired steps toward the second marker.

From there she'd turn to the judges. Hands slipping behind to rest on top of one another at the small of her back. Much like her sister, she was sure to push her chest out.

Then the questions began.

"As you may know, this competition is held in a city known from having strong women. What makes you strong?"

"The support and adoration of my people is where my true strength flourishes. But, I must say.. I have quite the right hook." Chuckle flowing through lightly painted lips. With one question down her attention turned to the blue haired fellow beside Dyarhk.

"Best weapon in a bar brawl: Bottle, chair, or bare hands?

Ah. Another brutish question. She only wondered if this would keep up to the third. Her face wouldn't read the thoughts that flowed throughout her head. No, she'd give off even more of a natural sort of smile after the question was asked.

"I would choose a chair. I, of course, would never start a brawl. But that is not to say I wouldn't sit and watch one."

Spectating blood sport was something that ran in the family. Nima was never much of a fighter after all.. Leaving the physical work to Mom or her sister had always been for the best. The Witch was more of a planning type. Why work hard to destroy an enemy when you can study them put little effort in their demise? Ah - but those mile a minute inner thoughts could rest for the time being as she didn't miss a beat and turned to face the third and final judge.

"Beauty, Intelligence & Wealth. Rank these in importance and tell me why."

Perfect.

Nima couldn't ask for a better question. The white haired woman flashed yet another bright smile and gave her response. Only a second of pause just for added effect. "Intelligence, Beauty, Wealth." Now as for why she had chosen to rank them in such a way. Delicate hand rose up to press fingers to the pale of her chest - as if showing she felt rather deeply about what she was about to say. "Intelligence is needed. Even with beauty and wealth, without intelligence you are nothing but a wasted opportunity. Without intelligence your wealth would be squandered away.. without intelligence your beauty will only be a mask, one that others would simply try and use for their own satisfaction." No marathon answers; and she made sure not to break it.

With the judges speaking among themselves as of now. The Ninth Lilith of Liltu used the opportunity to look out to the crowd and give those slow twisting-wrist type waves to the people - a wave that continued as soft clicks sounded out from those heels while she made her way back through those curtains.

Around noon of yesterday had it truly hit us that our wonderful contest was ending. Our last contestant walked out onto the stage and back, leaving a bitter afterthought in all our minds about something none of us wanted to admit. As much as we'd like for this to go on forever, yesterday marked the final day of the exhibition week. We've had our contestants step forth and show us what they're made of, and why we should pick them to be this year's winner. With the disappointing news of two No-Shows in the top 10. Tara Rynieyn of Rhy'Din, and Freia of Adenna. Stern five-point deductions are in place PER judge's final scoring card to enforce the discipline of our contest guidelines, and ensure that effort does not go unrewarded amidst those who failed to shew it. But we must look past this sadness and look at what we do have, and that's eight fiery women worthy of your vote. That time is now. The community poll will play a crucial role in determining this year's winner. Everyone head to your nearest voting machine and cast in your vote. A winner will be chosen based on your votes on the 14th!

To our staff, I would like to thank them for their hard work and determination to accommodate all aspirations we set out with this year. We didn't know how we'd get sound stages setup for audio interviews and radio recordings, televising stages and permits, and photograph sessions, but we did our best with what time we had. To Rhy'Dinian visitors, we thank you for coming into our city to enjoy this function and hope you had a good time, and invite you to come back again next year.

Dark Jackie O glasses, a black sweater and pencil skirt, Erin had been there watching the entire time. Her head tilted as the competition seemed to be wrapping up.

Yeah, good thing she didn't try this... the small bad englishwoman had lost.. too much weight over the years, and on display like that? Someone would probably take her to some sort of doctor. She was much happier with her hands tucked into her pockets watching the women.

The voting machine lines were long, but not toooo long, and so she waited, adjusting the hat she was wearing to cover her face better. It was nice to get out, see some fashion, snicker at some ridiculous things and then pass judgement on scantily clad women. She'd have to do this again.

And the Winner Is...

At the stroke of midnight on the 13th of December, the voting was closed on the community poll. But news would not come until later that day of the winners. An official article was released to the Adenna Gossip Corner (and subsequently to Rhy'Din circulation) from this year's contest staff. Flipping open the magazine brought a large, full-page spread of a picture taken this year of last year's contest winner.

First Place!

Nima! Current Lilith of Liltu and last year's reigning Beauty Queen, Nima has done it again and walks away with the tiara and jewel bouquet. Ever-pushing the envelope of ban-worthy attire and trendsetting, Nima also scored the best with the community, stealing the most points and votes with the judges and the poll, respectively. Well won, Nima!

"It is quite the task to be this beautiful!" ? says Nima.

With her snow white skin outshone only by her snow white hair, the two-time champion is not the type to be reserved about her victory. She is already planning a moderate vacation in celebration of the achievement. But that does not mean she takes her responsibilities lightly. When she is not engaged in passionate Liltu or Adenna matters as the Ninth Lilith (acting protector of the Liltu people and supreme mage), she can be found out poolside under an umbrella, or diligently working in her workshop.

?I, Nima, enjoy a man in the same way I do a woman. Easily plucked from another and corruptible.? - on what she finds attractive.

Although hard to recognize the family resemblance between daughter, Nima, and mother, Techichi, the Swimsuit Queen's own voice on the matter couldn't be farther from those differences. On outstanding terms with both her parents, Nima says she is still learning things from her two mothers. With a budding music career on the horizon and one album already released, she has proven there is little she can't do in what she chooses to take an interest in.

"It's quite the dutiful task. After all, I am not only the daughter of the Eighth Lilith, but one of the currently two Siovanuis of Adenna. Even at a young age I knew what my role in this world would be and have not turned a blind eye to those who look to me for guidance.? - on being a role model.

No one knows what the future holds, but this is one magic user and contest winner who presses forward into that unknown with the excitement of adventure and the confidence to persevere. While that future may remain uncertain, one thing is for certain. No one deserved the crown more.

Pin-ups of Nima can be purchased down at the Piano Concerto Hall, as well as autographed copies of her eponymous album ?Nima.?

She will receive: A second key to the city awarded by the King, Havelast Dagger Sasc, and Queen, Nayon Lortz Dagger Sasc, ?Anton's Favor? courtesy of the Treasure Room (an entirely jewel bouquet), she will retain her tiara, a gift basket, as well as a 5000 gold piece cash prize and Certificate of Authenticity.

On the next page, things were considerably smaller to accommodate the remainder of the top five award winners. But still with pictures!

Second Place!

Corea! The seemingly timid housewife may not have walked away with the gold, but she did with the hearts of many fans this year. As unpredictable as her hair color, she claimed second place for herself with honesty and a profile the people relate to. Definitely a contestant to look out for next year.

She will receive: A preserved ember of Adenna's nefarious bridge dragon, jewel-encrusted Adennian Falchion (w/ sheath), a gift basket, as well as a 3500 gold piece cash prize and Certificate of Authenticity.

Third Place!

Leda! Coming in from Rhy'Din, she took us all by storm with her beauty and fascinating past (as hinted at in her question and answer portion). We in Adenna marvel (and reward) the extraordinary, and Leda was just that. Abstaining from indifference is the trend that motivates and betters our next generations, and Leda brought an inspiration of the outside culture with her that has forever changed the peoples' opinion of Rhy'Din. That in itself is deserving of praise.

She will receive: A decorative Adennian Ceremonial Cinquedea, a gift basket, as well as a 2500 gold piece cash prize and Certificate of Authenticity.

Fourth Place!

Seirichi! Daughter of Techichi, this Ichi has claimed her place in the Top 5 as one of Adenna's most beautiful women. Though she isn't walking away with the crown this year, she is making the journey home with full honors. Few women have achieved the status of Seiri, and we're not just talking about her being a Siovanui when we say that. An accomplished warrior of the city and mother, there are a great number of things that have contributed to make the woman behind the loud and gruff exterior. No doubt the qualities that earned her-her place in this year's competition. Keep an eye on her in the future, because chances are you may just find yourself in a life and death situation with the Bridge Dragon, and the person who saves you may be none other than the famous loudmouth, and respectively, one of Adenna's most beautiful women, inside and out.

She will receive: A decorative knife (w/ sheath), a gift basket, as well as a 1500 gold piece cash prize and Certificate of Authenticity.

Fifth Place!

Atae! Adenna's Second Annual Swimsuit Competition's Winner, Atae walks away in a somewhat different position than the past has shown us. But if anyone understands that everyone is a winner here, it is the primary contributor of the competition itself. The fact that she is a veteran competitor and still manages to place so high is a statement in and of itself, really. Future contestants can learn a lesson from this woman and adopt her congeniality that embodies the true spirit of the competition, and realize ?who? you are is every bit as important as what you look like. Let's all hope we can age as wonderful and unnoticeably as Atae.

She will receive: A decorative knife (w/ sheath), a gift basket, as well as a 1500 gold piece cash prize and Certificate of Authenticity.

At the end of the article was a tiny word from and picture of, Christopher Andan.

?As another year's competition comes to a close, we would like to thank everyone for participating if you bravely stood before hundreds of people half-naked, or voiced your vote on your favorite contestant in any of our polls. The festivities are almost over! And they will be officially at the crowning reception on Thursday, December 15th. It's not too late to swing by and get one last picture taken with the winners or walk away with a piece of memorabilia from any of our gift stations. I've enjoyed each and every one of you that has participated in one way or another this year, and I can't wait to see you again. You're beautiful.?

Final Scores:

1. Nima ? 31.0 (+3 pts.)
2. Corea - 27.5
3. Leda - 26.0
4. Seiri - 25.5
5. Atae - 24.0
6. Katt - 23.0
7. Janis - 23.0
8. Techichi - 22.0
9. Tara - 15.0
10. Freia ? 15.0

(OOC: This concludes the swimsuit contest! Thank you all for participating.)
