Braving the Fever and Riots
(This following was adapted from live play)

Around the corner of a market street Corea ran. She had a dark blue motor jacket on and blue jeans down to her colorful sneakers. some of her looked cute, some of her looked mysterious. Wholly, she looked not to be messed with. Her green eyes looked around the various stores and shoppes, many closed, some beginning to open. She stayed along the brick and pocketed her hands into those unusually located front pockets of her jacket and struck a lean on the bricks while she waited, but it was a lean with the best vantage point.

Dyarhk was not far behind her. He looked like he were about to jump off a cliff, or at least that was what one of his neighbor's had said in Adenna before he headed out this morning. His shirt needed ironing, and the collar was all roughed up and thus dubbing the look: rough. His short head of black hair was no better. Tossed and spiked randomly like he just walked away from a hurricane. But it aided to a cool air of relaxation he seemed to walk with as he came up to the woman with his pocketed hands up under the shirt tails of his shirt. His shoes were much more fine than hers. The evidence was in the sound every step made. She only had him beat if they were going to a 5k right now, but that wasn't the case. It was breakfast.

He stopped. "Is the coast clear? Is it okay to come out?" He kidded, joining her in looking around. His eyes were much slower, but he paid attention to detail and the subtleties. Calm eyes also had their advantages.

"The workday is just starting for many of these people. There's no traffic out. No threats." She answered honestly to the man, though she knew he had been joking. She had been around him long enough to learn a few things about him. She shoved off the brick wall and assumed walking beside the man. She was playing protector, but she didn't know where he was heading. "Where did you say we were going?"

"......... Ahhhuu ? ? A thinning of those lips as the young one tried her best to stifle a yawn. It wasn't early for Nayun ? she usually awoke three hours before; but the lack of action came that sudden feeling of sleepiness. It was bad for a warrior and Nayun understood this well, she should keep focused and ready for anything. Squatting, cloak covered form kept itself at her own vantage point. This being up on a roof of one of those local eateries. Eyes kept themselves pinned on the two she had been tasked to watch over; Corea & Dyarhk. The young one couldn't help but wonder though; why? Corea was one of the best sharpshooters Nayun had ever had the chance to see.. but, she couldn't deny the Siovanui of Adenna. If she asked her to jump, Nayun would have to reply with ?How high??

Dyarhk rose a finger to her. "I didn't say. If I had, you would have remembered. You pay attention like that..." He let that mull over while they passed a few carts and cart-made aisles before he spoke back up. "That Rhydin illness is still going around, so I know you're looking out for carriers. The last thing we need is to come down with something. And you might say it's foolish to come out here ? but I'm being careful, too. We're not going to a place like Olivier's." He looked around to the faded sky that was not yet filled with the vibrancy of the sun. "It's too public. It's one thing to walk past people, but it's very much another thing to eat with them. Not to discriminate or anything!" he held his hands out to Corea to make that point clear, "I love people. But we can't exactly afford to get sick, if this thing is as bad as the prints read. Not just for us, but we have little ones to look after. None to mention a whole country I might get on its bad side if I hauled a new plague into their walls." He cackled maniacally at the idea as though he had some confidence and response to such an event unfolding. He certainly wasn't afraid of it. Could he have possibly thought his status and service provided for Adenna during the Chains incident had him in untouchable standing?

Corea walked all along with him listening just as open-minded as she had always been. Being open-minded had done very little harm to her. All she had ever known was Wong's way of life and Dyarhk's. With the former, she had been introduced to very little outside her way of life, and with the latter Dyarhk had exposed only safe things to her and friends that have not tried to take advantage of her ignorance in so many new things. Only the wine, so far, had come back to bite her in the rear. She let out a soft sigh and returned to looking around, making up for the lost time she should have been using when she had been staring at Dyarhk. "So where are we going? Is it breakfast?"

"Mmm... you must have overheard my conversation with Kara... A place to stay, and food to provide. These are the most important things, I told him. Two things I'm always conscious of whenever I am out with someone. You're that person this morning, Corea. So yes, I thought I'd take you out to get something to eat. Is that such a bad thing?" he placed an arm around her and applied a great deal of energy into jerking her toward him. Depth of joking.

Sharp green eyes turned into wide and surprised ones. A great deal of this man could be predicted, and at the same time, a great deal could "not." Pulled into his right breast she pushed to gain enough distance from him to look up at him and regain some form of her own stance. "Actually... the list of affected by this illness is surprisingly short despite the attention it is getting. Regardless, you could be that next victim. So it is not necessarily wise coming out here..."

"Hmm..." Again. He looked at her as he released her as much was necessary for her to take the remainder of the initiative and break their walking embrace. He looked a bit surprised to hear her say that, but still wore that face of confidence that the worst case scenario wasn't anything bad at all. "I wouldn't worry about it. It is like Seiri said, I think. People have conquered much more terrifying illnesses. I do not think Rhydin's fever would be enough even to keep me out of work." He laughed.

Nayun's body rose out of its squatting position. The two were now on the move; which meant she needed to do the same. Nayun moved carefully, as to not cause any sort of commotion as she made her way across rooftops. Easy enough.. but the smells in the air had been distracting. Food, making her stomach grumble by just the scent of it. The blame could be put right on her.. since all she had for breakfast was a piece of toast. The aroma causing her attention to shift from the two. Sniff, sniff.
"...I'm hungry.." Mumbling to herself. That lapse of judgement did cause a problem though. Feet slid just a bit. A few loose roof shingles being the culprit. Losing balance, Nayun was forced to take a step back, but in doing so this allowed the singles to fall and hit the ground below.

Corea sighed, wishing he had a bit more fear for the unknown. "I wish you would treat this a little more seriously..."

"I am. I am. Like I said, we're not going to Olivier's for breakfast, and only a fool would say that in confidence if he knew how elaborate their smorgasbord was..." he looked over to the woman and pocketed that hand back at last. "We're nearly where we're going, anyway... Then we can be right on our way back and not risking anything. But that is something we need to talk about. Sometimes.. living's all about the risk. It is better to risk it all if the choice is between staying safe and doing nothing... You can't be afraid of living."
He came up to the stone bridge that went over one of the canals and his smile put on that he knew they were close. Beside Yatsuba's cake shoppe, four stores down, in-fact, had been their destination. "Ahh.. these bodies of water are always pleasant to eat beside. I've always been a fan of the water... but you know this." He beamed as he went past the front door altogether and began shopping for a cute table with a nice view.

"Alright. We will eat and then return home. I think that this is fair since it is not advisable to be out at all." Following him and seeing him pick a table, she took hold of the back of her chair and thought briefly before looking over her shoulder. Such attentive, beautiful eyes. They looked back. "You are welcome to come join us, Nayun. That way we can head back to Adenna together."

Dyarhk wide-eyed and jaw-dropped gasped. "Huh?!? Nayun?? Where???"

".........." She had been made. Terrible, terrible. Cursing herself under her breath; it looked like her stealth skills needed some work. What to do ? what to do. She was told to keep her distance and make sure ?not to bother? the two of them. The Siovanui's orders. Nayun couldn't act like the woman didn't see her though.. So, with a soft sigh, she took a step off that roof and free fell to the ground below. Knees bending on contact, and hands reaching low to help ease the stress on her body as she made her landing ? looking almost cat like in doing so. As did her next set of actions. She took one step closer, but stopped before leaning much into the step; but with a brief pause, she'd finally make up her mind and move to meet with them. ".. Apologies. With word of the outbreak and riots.. Seirichi thought it best to keep an extra set of eyes on you.."

"Oooooh!" Dyarhk continued the front of wow and amazement. He'd seen Nayun meld in and out of stealth before. But he loved for a person's confidence and pride in their abilities to show and come up regularly. It helped, also, that it was not so hard for him to forcefully push this looking impressed ? not because it was easy or anything ? but because it was just that easy to be impressed by Nayun. "How long were you following us?! You must have been a perfect shadow."

Corea also chose the path of the friendlier, more welcome response to Nayun. She closed her eyes politely, dipped her chin, and smiled. "You are more than welcome to join us for a quick breakfast, Nayun. I understand we'll be going back home afterward, so I apologize for calling you down, but thought we could all make the journey back together."

"Ahh, Faris my good man. How are things in the kitchen this morning?" Dyarhk's muscular arm was taken into a firm handshake with the chef coming out to greet his only three customers. "Slow, slow Dyarhk. It is good to see you. Who are you friends??" It was no surprise an acquaintance of Dyarhk's being friendly. The Palliator happily introduced the two.

"Faris, this is my slew of bodyguards today," he snickered for a moment, "Corea, my wife. And Nayun, our babysitter." His beautiful dark-colored hand introduced them both. "And girls, this is Faris. He doesn't entertain large dinner parties here, but that's the whole intention of this place. It's a private eatery." he winked to them. "Now, Faris. We'll not have anything heavy. One of your appetizers should be fine. Those are filling enough as it is."

"Nice to meet you, Ladies. Alright, Dyarhk. I can do that! It'll just be a moment." He waved, and headed back inside of his shoppe where even fewer tables and chairs were laid out.

Dyarhk stretched in the meantime and smiled out romantically to the look of the water in the canals where the sun was just beginning to penetrate upon.

".. I took a portal into Rhy'Din a few minutes before you did." Nayon revealed. After all, she needed time to scope the area and take her roof top position. The cloak she wore seemed a bit out of place, so she did remove it with a shrug of her shoulders, followed by a disrobing pull. "I appreciate the offer." Nod of a bow given to Corea in thanks. Hand reached for her belt. Fingers curling about the saya of her blade, and with a tug she'd begin to remove it. Holding the sheathed weapon within her hand, the young woman moved to sit herself. Only after did she allow that blade to lean against a leg of the table.

"It is nice to meet you." Corea was becoming more adjusted to meeting new people. It certainly helped that all of these people tended to be friendly and agreeable and not complicated. Corea wasn't sure how to respond to a civil dispute. Problems and complications were much easier for her to respond to with a bone break, a silencing cut, or a man-stopping bullet. That chair she had her hand on was finally sat upon and she looked over, keeping her eyes on Nayun thoughtfully. "We appreciate your looking after us, Nayun. I know there are new things you would like to be doing and trying now that much of your schedule has freed."

"Perhaps she should find a young man to take to the movies like a girl her age should!" Dyarhk said full of meaning. But deep, deep past it, he had been antagonizing something.

"........" A curious glance did come. Eyes shifting about the restaurant. People, to people.. noting exits and other points of strategic importance. Glance turned itself back to those at the table, one in particular; Corea. "My schedule is usually free during the morning. There's no.. need...." Now looking to Dyarhk. ".........." Well. It looked like he knew exactly how to embarrass her. Eyes slowly shifted to take in the view of the table top. "... I'm not interested in boys.. My training is more important." She muttered out.

Corea's lips closed together and assumed a simple smile hearing Nayun's convictions. She understood them well, and they were not far from her own only so many years back. "That is good. Nayun. There is no need to go looking for something when it is of such an importance as a partner. Such a thing will come to you... when you are ready. As it did for me." She turned to Dyarhk even though she had closed her eyes and her smile grew.

"Hohh?" Now he was the one embarrassed. He didn't like this position! So he weaseled out of it, or at least, he tried to. Perhaps his full strength was not utilized because, well, it wasn't that bad of a spot to get caught in. "Hey! That's not exactly... well... wait a second. Maybe that is how it happened. Yes. I suppose it was.... fate..." He said romantically, also closing his eyes. The water backdropping him was also added affect.
His eyes opened and he looked to Nayun now. "You have a good head on your shoulders, Nayun. You know what's important. And it takes most people into their thirties before they realize what that is. You're definitely ahead of the game. So call breakfast this morning a reward for being such a bright young woman. Your name is going to be one Adenna remembers for a very long time." He thumbs-upped her.

Someone will find her when she's ready? Those words filled her thoughts for the moment. For a split second she even began to wonder what *kind* of person would be a good partner for her? Someone handsome.. strong.. A few images filled her mind as possible candidates, but was quickly pushed away when her cheeks found themselves growing flush. Body shifted within that chair, forcing herself to sit more straight and proper. ".. Fate?" Then those sudden words of encouragement. ".. Ah.. T.. Thank you.." Surprised by them. Fingers pushed against one another within her lap, hidden under the table. ".. I have a question.. How did you two know.. that you loved each other..?"

"Oh?" Surprised a bit by the unusual question she never thought would have come from Nayun. Corea looked to Dyarhk to see if perhaps she could gauge from his face whether or not their answers would be the same. He showed no signs of replying there, with his arms crossed, and a smile on his face. So, she took the initiative and spoke up. "Well... I suppose for me it was when I continuously rejected his advances. He would repeatedly try and challenge me in close quarter combat... and I would shut him down every time. I never let him score a hit. I never gave him that chance. Until one morning back on Tirraru's second tier I couldn't put together what it was that he would do if he ever breached my defenses. He didn't seem like he would hit me, or submission me. So something lowered my guard that day, and I let him breach my defenses. And it was not a punch that came... but our first, mutual kiss." All throughout Corea's story her words grew quieter and quieter, as if this were all emotional and embarrassing both for her to say. But she was glad she did. She held her nervous little fists together there in her lap and stared at them, planning to do so until all the eyes were off of her.

"Mutual!? What do you mean! We'd had times before that!" he huffed steam from his nostrils but backed down easy enough. He looked like he had another story to tell, so he assumed crossing his arms again and facing Nayun. "Understand, Nayun... though two people may care about each other will all of their heart and being... their stories and takes on them can be very different. Mine is no exception..." He ahem'd, "The moment Corea spoke of was a wonderful one. And it retains all of its value. But I had a very different realization pertaining to your question. The moment that we loved each other. Well, she didn't exactly love me, you might say... but I realized this moment that it was meant to be," he snickered, a little red on his cheeks alongside that enormous smile, "We had crashed on the desert and were forced to survive, just the pair of us, for a number of months."

"Oh no..." Corea blushed and looked back down, having to initiate a whole nother round of not looking at anyone or anything but her togethered fists after hearing and knowing where this was going.

"We learned how to work together... be it getting an old jeep to running condition again, one we never thought would start; or talking to a small townspeople to negotiate labor for food, water and supplies. It happened a night out there where I talked her into slowdancing under the desert moon... and the desert moon has a funny way of bringing people together in a strange sort of way." Dyarhk said softly and that would be the end of his story. "Just know it can happen any way of innumerable possibilities, Nayun. It is good you have other goals and ambitions now... but don't shut it out completely from your mind." he winked. And just then, their food was coming to them, and it was a most unusual looking breakfast, indeed.

Corea cast out her line and Nayun was hooked. Taken into that story with full interest, waiting for more and more to come of it.. and it ended in a kiss. A kiss could bring such feelings? Then Dyarhk spoke, completely different of Corea's own story. This caused Nayun to blink in confusion. "...... What happened in the desert?" Fingers found themselves placed against the table as she leaned in. Growing more and more interested in the story.
Love. A special someone she could share her heart with. Was it worth it? To become a Siovanui.. she needed to cast out the cravings of what could ?impure? her. Easy enough, she could simply *not* associate herself with the opposite sex in such a way, but even Atae spoke of the friendship and feeling one could gain from a man.. Just, without taking that final step. "How did you know you.." Her question slowly dwindling away as the food found the table. Eyes glancing to the one who brought it for a small moment. "Thank you." She made no motion in an attempt to eat just yet. Her attention had been on Dyarhk and Corea. ".. You two.. look very happy."

"Here you go. Happy hour starts early here." Faris said coming out and setting out a tiny plate that had glasses of a dark tequila in them. It was part of the breakfast, and speaking of the desert, it had been a traditional desert breakfast he used to make, and one Dyarhk was very fond of (every now and again). Surely, it would be one of the first surprises. Then, he was sitting down their main course. "Garlic saut?ed shrimp. A fresh cut of bread and fresh slices of salami. Enjoy!"

"Thank you, Faris." Dyarhk was quick to wrap his hand around the alcoholic drink and hold it out to the girls and making sure to speak before Faris could get back into his shoppe. "This is an old day starting regimen desert workers used to do. They used to sweat tequila, and still do in many areas. It opens a unique perspective on the day with one of these. Gives you a unique acquaintance to go along with you and your errands. Sometimes it was all they had. But no mistake, it was popular enough to garner this recognition. Cheers." He saluted to the two girls and drank without them. You took the first quarter of it down and then saved the rest for your meal. A very brief and very subtle sting showed on his face and then it'd be gone. He began rearranging things on his plate. A bite of bread was the first thing he ate, blinking green eyes over to Nayun like it were no extraordinary thing she said. ?Thank you, Nayun. I'm glad we don't annoy you. I know there are men and women who can do that." chew, chew.

Corea saw him begin his drink, and perhaps unknown to Nayun, this was something he was training her on, both her and Seiri. Even Teagan, if you counted everyone. She had no verbal direction to drink along with him, but she knew she was supposed to. So she took her glass with some urgency to catch up and followed after his extraction and surprisingly wore a much less affected face by the liquor than she had in the past. Now it was Nayun's turn to decide what she was going to do with hers. "It makes me happy to hear that we can look that way... Nayun. It is one thing to feel it and know it, but it is quite another, I cannot explain why, to be told it. It is nice." she complimented while getting her fingers into her plate. This was not the sort of meal to be eaten with silverware.

One - no, the two of them. Watching Corea lift her drink, though a few moments behind Dyarhk. Nayun looked to her own. Taking it within her hand and giving it a quick sniff. A small sip given.. and, well, she didn't seem to be used to it at all. lips thinning out, squeezing as she tried to get used to the taste. Should she just force herself to drink more? It was the polite thing to do -- so, she'd do it. Unlike Dyarhk, she didn't stop at half.. she forced herself to down the whole thing before placing the glass back down. Teeth clenching behind lips as she forced herself to swallow. A small squint of the eyes, but she knew her facial reactions would give a tell-tale sign to how she was feeling, she she did her best to do what she usually did in a situation that might bring a ?negative? reaction her way. That was to purge any sort of emotion from her face and to look like a blank slate. "It's fine. There is no reason for me to feel annoyed.." Eyebrow twitch. Her body feeling a bit heated thanks to the drink.. Ugh.

"Whooooa!" Again over-energizing his compliments at seeing Nayun take it all down in one swig. Surprise did seem to take him over, but then a smile. "You'd fit right in in the desert, Nayun. Heh!"

Looking to Dyarhk, ".... I want to adventure.. Like you." It came suddenly, also a bit out of the blue; but Nayun did look serious in her statement. "I want to see deserts.. and make friends, like you.."

He gazed into that glass he held so close to his face and watched it sweetly for a short time. "I can sympathize with my fellow man... this is all a lot of them have. Day to day. They're not all so lucky as to get to spend their days with the women they admire like I am. I do not speak for the drunks. No, this is another type of man I speak of entirely. The drink is the tool that companions them into their laborous chores without the motivation they crave... Not the cure-all tonic some fill their bodies with. I would like to make that clear. No... I like the romantic drinker," he smiled soft but sweetly before hearing Nayun speak her rather out of the blue statement indeed, "Ohh??" he was taken aback by hearing that.

Corea also looked over to Nayun, not suspecting something like that to come out of her. She politely wiped her mouth with her napkin and paused to hear what she had to say if Dyarhk did not speak up in response.

"Make friends like the ones I have made or make friends that are like me??" he laughed aloud. He loved a joke, but he understood to pay someone their serious answer, or response, rather, to something they had said in all seriousness as well. He took his glass to the halfway marker, another quarter down, and answered her. "You're getting to that age where you must decide where you will go... and what things you will see... but you are still young, also. So do not overtax yourself thinking about the next big step. You want to make many tiny steps... the bigger your steps, the shorter your journey is walked... and it is always the journey. And never the destination." he said. "Just make sure you don't go too far from home! That's the mistake I made. Besides, Kara, Marissa and Kellie would miss you too much if their favorite babysitter stayed gone too long."

It was the same as her sister said. She was too young, she had her whole future to think about such things ? but the way Dyarhk worded it, it made things sound much more clear. As if he was speaking to her as an equal, and not someone of higher social rank. Slowly, she gave a nod of her head in understanding, "I will do my best then.. in Adenna, for now." Then he spoke of the children. Something that grasped Nayun's attention fully. ".. I do enjoy being with them.. Karaichi is growing stronger everyday.. he will make a fine warrior."

A smile came from Corea that was her maternal side shining through. :: "Yes, I think so too." she happily agreed. Seeing Kara mature was something she was enjoying so fully, something that she never knew existed much like everything else associated with being a mother. It was an unspoken of world, and had she not been a mother, she would have no proof whatsoever that it existed at all, not in the life she led. It was a lesson that told her there was still much out there and waiting to be discovered.

"I love that boy." Dyarhk was laughing, obviously some memory of recent days on his mind. "He is going to protect people in the best way imaginable. His spoken name will stop fights... The people will speak it when encouragement is needed somewhere, and they will instantly have the strength to push on. He will mean so many things... I can see this." a soft sigh with a great amount of admiration that could be seen in his eyes where his imagination was taking full flight. And he believed every bit of it.
"Well." a deep breath was taken. "If adventuring is something you think you'll have an interest in pursuing, I'd say you're off to a fine start. You navigate unseen with your powers of stealth, something that is very valuable in the open world where being seen or being hidden can matter a great deal. I'd say whatever you're doing now is a fine workout, prepping you for what you're meant to do." he nodded several times, tearing a hunk of bread off the loaf.

Reminded suddenly, Corea blinked her luscious eyelashes over at Dyarhk with a question also upon them. "Dyarhk, has Seiri said anything about the Spirit Cup? I know she has been talking with Tetch a lot recently, and I know Techichi has a seat where she hears news first concerning the games."

Pride. Nayun felt it. The words that left Dyarhk's lips only made her heart fill with more. Karaichi was someone, even if he was young, that Nayun had hope for. Maybe because she had spent so much time with him; he was something special to her. ".. Then I will keep training." Nodding. Reaching out, she'd finally take hold of that bread soon after Dyarhk had done so; tearing into it to give herself something to eat as well.

"Ahh, the Spirit Cup. You know, it is a shame you did not get on the woman's team this year, Nayun. But perhaps next cup... Actually Corea, I believe the teams have been officially made and processed. They'll be coming out soon enough. And the game as well, hopefully. August is still young, and Adenna is pretty punctual when it comes to their football. Though, August is a fairly large window to operate inside of." he thought, looking up to the shelter.

"I will enjoy watching it on the sidelines. The former Lilit ?.." Stopping herself. ".. Miss Lily, she wants me to sit next to her during the game.. but miss Seirichi has invited guests from Rhy'Din.. So I might have to be seated with them instead." Nodding her head before taking a bite of bread.

Dyarhk caught that. His eyes sharpened over to Nayun to return back to that subject if only for the reason he had something important to leave with it. "You know a great deal of how that boy turns out will fall upon you. You know he looks up to you... and there are very few people I think Kara will do that to. After all, he will have to look down to everyone else... so that he can look over them. So stick to your training... become something great so he can know where to follow."

A sigh of relief left Corea's chest. She was glad that she was likely going to be on the field and that Lilith had someone else to sit beside. It was not that she disliked Lilith, but was glad that it was someone else that she was wanting to lean on and whisper things to and place her hands upon other than her for a change. A silent worry she let pass while she took another quarter from her glass.

"Ah yes. I am looking forward to meeting more of Seiri's friends. I'm an old bother like that... I have to know everybody. It must look like I'm invading privacy sometimes... which I surely don't intend, but I can't help it." He leaned back with his lips wearing that happiness and disregard of shame. "There's a lot of things I'm trying to figure out right now, even at my age... my age, well, being one of them."

Corea looked to him just then. She had heard this subject touched lightly upon, but didn't know, not deeply, not passionately what he was up to.

"This upcoming Spirit Cup is very important to me... It'll tell me where I stand... what I'm capable of. I'm a lot older than I think the men's team would like playing for them, but they understand what I'm playing to understand. Depending on how we do... I may know where to take my own next step. The next adventure." He made a fist. Now if that wasn't worth a drink. He made sure to enjoy it.

The subject of Kara being brought about again. It caused Nayun's heart to grow warm. Knowing that she could possibly be someone who, when he was older, could still look up to. The smallest sign of a smile crept up on her lips, but kept itself nice and hidden as she bowed her head in thought. "The spirit cup is important to me as well.. it will be my first time seeing it.. I hope you all do well."

Corea nodded her thanks to Nayun while Dyarhk busily chowed down, cleaning his plate. "Thank you, Nayun. It is looking like we both have finalized positions on both the men and women's teams. Your encouragement will surely help." She finished her drink now as well before placing the larger glass down and trying to remember what this dizziness felt like. It was unfavorable in a fighting situation, surely, but she was beginning to see its appeal in comfort and relaxing. "Do you have plans for this afternoon when we get back, Nayun?"

Dyarhk

Date: 2011-08-15 13:41 EST
Dyarhk was clapping his hands free of crumbs and the like off the side of the table, listening to the two women before he began fishing out payment and a tip from his wallet.

Nayun shakes her head. The answer obviously no. "Since both you and Dyarhk are now in Adenna, most of my nights have become free."

"But that is the night. What about the upcoming afternoon? I do not want to traipse through your training if you are planning on getting to work as soon as we get back, but if you will not be so busy, perhaps you and I could browse a new shop in Adenna. Seiri has informed me that some of the best clothes you can buy are when a boutique newly opens."

"Womenfolk..." Dyarhk mutters with every intention on just barely being heard.

Clothing? This did strike Nayun. Now; she did shop.. but when you came from a home where you only had one outfit, you grow used to having things be simple and not asking for much more. Most of the time it was Seirichi who bought her a new outfit without Nayun even knowing about it.. But, to go out.. She did have money, but to spend it.. "........" A silent pause as she thought. Something that could be seen as strange. Then again, it wasn't like these two were new to the socially retarded. ".. My afternoon is free.. If you're willing to take me, I would love to join you."

"It's good to go out shopping... even if you buy meaningless things." There was Dyarhk chiming in.

"What do you mean? It won't be meaningless. Are you saying the outfits I have been getting were meaningless?" Corea blinked to him many, many times.

Dyarhk rapidly apologized, "No no no, no no... that's not what I meant. What I meant is that going out and getting things, even if they are things you do not necessarily need, that is important to do sometimes. Especially if you are a girl. Shopping for the spirit." He touched his temple like it were a brainy thing he had caught onto. Corea didn't quite get it, or perhaps not as well as Nayun would have. That was with reason. Dyarhk understood Nayun did not have a lot of things, and it was by habit that she did not. It was because she had always known not having a lot of things, so he was making sure she knew that those possibilities outside of that norm were open to her. He was as much a good listener as he was an observer back home. He heard and saw a lot.
"Faris, you have a good day, okay? I'm sure we'll be back around sometime real soon. In the meantime watch out for that fever spreading around." He rose and saluted to the man through the shop window he was having to yell over to get through.

Corea also took her stand and collected the tiny purse she walked through the market with. Womanly things inside, makeup, eyeliner, mascara... no. A fully automatic pistol. She would most definitely be picking that back up and keeping it close to her. The bright girly five-pointed star stitched onto it was misleading as was the whole design of her outfit, as was the whole design of Corea these days. She look far cuter and more womanly than to be so, on the drop of a hat, lethal.

A few more bites of food taken. Looking between the two of them as they spoke to one another, Nayun felt the need to just stay quiet. It's not like they had asked for her opinion on the subject after all. Plus, it did give her the time to quickly finish her own meal before moving to stand. Hand found the saya of her blade once more, pulling it away from resting against the table and bringing it to her belt in preparation to tie it back into place. A small click heard, pulling the blade only out an inch before sliding it back into place. Hands rose up then to play with her hair. Brushing along a few strands, as if trying to make herself seem presentable. Yes, it looked as if a few girlish things of her own had been on display.

"I'll need to take over one night and let you have one off, Dyarhk... I've kind of been going off while you've been stuck with the majority of the work, haven't I?" She sweetly showed concern. She did this a lot during the breakfast hours with the Palliator.

"Hardly... I'd ask for more time if it wouldn't seem selfish, but no one is meant to hog all of those kids' love." He laughs aloud before looking over to Nayun and smiling. "No, that love is meant to be shared with everybody."

"I wouldn't mind taking care of the children if you two want to spend an evening together.." Nayun suggested.

"Saaay. Now there's an idea! Tequila's one thing, but wine . . ." He was playing his game, preying upon the weaknesses of others, and without mercy as he did so, advancing upon the cherry-chocolate headed assassin.

"What are you talking about?? Stop it!" The red-cheeked bioroid fought off advancing arms. Not seriously, of course. But the immediate agility of them were her truthful seriousness of telling him to stop embarrassing her. And though he did, it only seemed to bring out a loud guffaw from the man.

"We may take you up on that, Nayun. Let's get back and see what everyone is up to before we make any definite plans. And if we take too long, assume you're off-duty tonight. That's usually a good rule to go by." He took the head of the train and again passing the front of the shop now he waved through the window with one of those hands before pocketing it and assuming this relaxed stance as he headed back on out the way he came.

Corea paused and took a moment to think about all the construction going on in Adenna. "There's a lot going on right now... there's the opera house's renovation... the recently completed Spirit Stadium for the game.. there's that new building coming up and the one that has Seiri so excited, I believe she said it was going to be a dance club."

"mmmm." Dyarhk said, not looking behind him, though he was grinning.

Blink, blink. She watched the sudden display with an interested expression. "...." Another blink. Soon enough being the caboose on that little train right now. Ears kept to their conversation, but at the same time she made sure to keep her surroundings in check. It would look to a normal person that she seemed a little *too* interested in what was going on around her. Even to the point of paranoia. ".. I would like to see a new park built.. For the children to play at." She spoke out softly.

"Ah! Now there's a suggestion I think should be brought up to the Queen." He said seriously and full of enthusiasm. "The children hold the future, after all. Great idea, Nayun."

"Should you try and phone Seiri?" Corea tilted her head, walking behind him with both hands on her purse at the front of her.

Nayun felt a little.. How could it be described.. Cheerful? Maybe that wasn't the word to use -- but she felt something. Dyarhk knew exactly the right words to speak to lift her spirits. Maybe she would bring it up with her sister.. No, not maybe; she will do it. Her walk seemed to turn a bit more relaxed, but she still continued to study the area about them. "I could contact Miss Seirichi if you'd like."

"Hm? Just one moment." He closed his eyes though he continued walking. The smile played on his lips was a default one often worn by those awaiting the ringer to be picked up on the other end of a phone, but that was far from what was really going on in his head. Communicating to Seiri was a completely different method than linking minds with Rauland. Using the Lifestealer meant linking spirits first, and it was hardly a simple ordeal. The concentration it required was phenomenal, but it was something he loved to regularly do. He could lay out on the grass for hours and just sleep-talk with either Seiri or Corea, depending. And when his eyes finally opened, he looked back to the two and waved them a hand that said no worries. "There's no need, Nayun. Seiri's hot on it already." And then he had returned to walking as if to say it was not going to be instant.

"You are okay, Nayun?" Corea had slowed enough to meet Nayun's pace and walk alongside her, even offering her a bump of her curvy hips to ride with the easy prying of business she had inquired.

Click.. a push of the thumb; blade only moving a good inch out of that saya as attention turned to what seemed to be a small group of men talking among one another. No real sign of threat, and no real sign of them even acknowledging the party of three as well. This wouldn't stop Nayun from watching them, of course.. but when the bump came, Nayun quickly looked back to Corea. ".. Yes, I am fine.. Just with the news of riots.. I'm a little on edge."

"Rhydin will always be a place of worry. It is important to keep up your guard. I think you know this. But you should remember also," she paused though continued walking alongside the Adennian woman to look up ahead of their little twosome to stare with a burning impression into the back of the man that led their troupe. He was outside of their quiet talking, and surely didn't hear their words, and it was as Corea would have had it; it was girl talk. "Remember that the one time I did lower my guard, was the time I let Dyarhk in, and became happy." She looked to the other girl having some vague clasp of what it was to pass good advice on, and she thought that was exactly what she had done. Her way of paying the man in-front of her back by helping out another girl who didn't know what these things were, and they were things Corea would never be able to put a price on.

"Ah-hah! There we go." Dyarhk said before a portal that appeared at the end of their stone bridge. "I can smell the chimney smoke already... the thick snow is already squishing under my shoes and melting off of them on the rug beside the front door. I have three hearty good mornings to say to three little adventurers, and anyone else I meet, too. The day's young, you two! Let's enjoy it!" he said full of cheer that could alone climb a mountain. He waited for them to close the distance over to him before he moved on through the portal first. The wink beforehand was meant to rile up the women if they were aware of the 'Ladies First' rule.

Nayun looked up to Corea in silence. To always keep up a guard meant that.. you could possibly miss out on something that could bring happiness to your life. Stopping at the bridge, her attention turning to the portal that now kept open for the two of them. "..... I will remember that, Miss Corea." Another click. This time it had been the sound of her blade fitting right back into it's sheathe once more. Her hand remained, but only for a moment. Finally, Nayun allowed herself to fully release and held her arm out to her side. "You first." A gesture made to Corea.

She looked over to the young girl and realized it had been a lot to try and understand at her age and profession; not to mention that she wasn't exactly the best guide or giver of advice. They were all of them working on new things and finding their place and their comforts. A sigh again left her chest. A soft smile offered over. "Thank you." She stepped up and passed through the portal into a realm of Rhydin cast in winter.

Nayun did wait a few moments after Corea went through the portal. Waiting.. waiting, until she could see the tell-tale sign that the gap between the two realms had been just about to close. No one else would be going in ahead of her, and no one behind her. With that, she'd inch forward and step calmly through.
