Kruger

The Nest had become his escape. Not from anyone in particular, or anything for that matter. It was simply a place where nothing mattered except sweat and effort. Those runs were progressing much better, it required less effort to keep up with Nordem. This gave Kruger some pleasure because he no longer felt like he may have been holding the man back. They wore the paper masks, over masks a device to increase lung capacity it had been explained. Kruger didn?t care why he had to wear it, he was told to do it so that is what he did. It cost him nothing to be compliant to the desires of Robin and Nord. Noncompliance could cost him so much more.

?Hey Nord, can I talk to you?? His voice was muffled slightly but the other man had heard him. The evidence was indicated by the nod of the man?s head. ?How do you determine who you are going to fight? I mean do you choose the best because you want to prove yourself or do you take a longer road through weaker challengers because you have a goal and it is the easier path to get there??

Nord never quit running knowing that they were out there to do specifically that. He didn?t answer either, knowing the smith fairly well by now. ?I mean I just don?t know which needs to remain pure right now, the goal or the journey. I mean I went up a rank last night Nord, against a tough opponent and it felt good to do so. Then I wondered though if I beat all the tough opponents on the way to the goal, who will be left to challenge me?? Kruger kept on running and asking questions of himself under the pretense of asking them of Nord. He had no idea that he had touched upon a similar dilemma that the light heavy weight was feeling.

They came up on the Nest and started the walking cool down that would bring their heart rates back down in the healthiest manner. Nord simply told Robin about the fog, but she bit his head off for it.

Robin looked none too pleased to see him, but rather upset and toe-tapping at a fighter ? her fighter ? that was about to be late for his first fight in months. ?You did plan on fighting today, didn't you?? Go get dressed! Everyone! You're not going to earn that 18th KO telling me what the weather's like outside. Go! Go!? she said, ushering him and Kruger back with the same enthusiasm she had shown Terry.
