Uryviel had been busying herself getting ready for a journey with her friend Ian. They were going on a search for the "Dancing Maidens" Or what others called Cairns and strange rock formations. She had been gathering supplies from the kitchen and finally stopped to take a rest by the fire. Tomorrow they would be leaving. She had not seen Legolas for a few days and did not really know where he might be. She had been thinking a lot and there had been many new developments since his disappearance. She
knew that he loved her well and she loved him. But she was feeling as though things between them were indeed fading. She closed the saddle box and buckled the straps. Settling into a chair by the fire she stared into the roaring flames remembering their lovemaking just a few nights before. Legolas had spent his time going out into the forest, surveying the area he was to live in. He wanted to see what nature provided for him here, the plants that he could use to his advantage. His father had taught him to utilize such things. He found more than a few herbs used for medicinal purposes, as well as cooking and spice. It was finally his longing to be close to his Ury that brought him back home. He had no bow with him this morning. The only thing he carried in his hand was a bundle of Lilies. He wanted to give them to his love as a show that he had not forgotten her. A cool breeze moved into their home as he entered, soft steps taken. That hood would be tugged back and bright blue eyes searched out the one he loved. He found her and approached her immediately, lips finding hers in a sweet kiss. ?Here, these are for you.? Well, at least he was trying t be compassionate. He was learning.
She was caught up in his kiss but something was not quite right. She did not know if he would notice or not. She loved him... oh how she loved him but sometimes it just wasn't enough. She smiled weakly as she took the beautiful lilies and calling to Ryan he came and took them from her to place them in a vase. Her words came slowly, and looking into his eyes she almost felt her own tear. "Legolas.... we must talk." She settled back into the chair once more, having stood as he entered and gestured for him to do the same.
As soon as his lips met with hers he sensed something was not right here. He pulled back only to see that expression. Had he done something wrong? Were the Lilies not what she wanted? He was only trying to be more loving but it seemed he was failing miserably. On the inside he was terrified, but he nodded and moved to sit as she asked. He had many things to ask her..to tell her, but he would allow her to go first. He heard the tone of her voice and pale fingers reached for hers, brushing over them softly before he held her hand. He gave her a soft smile. ?Then speak, my love. I am always happy to hear your thoughts.? She smiled and the tears did come... this time there was no holding them at bay. "Legolas... I feel that perhaps... we should take our time with our relationship... see where things fall. I feel perhaps I have moved far too fast back into what we had and it somehow does not feel right to me." She shifted a bit though she did not take her hand from his. "I have been asked to go on a journey... with Ian.. a good friend of mine, nothing more and I think it's a good idea that I take this chance to see a bit of the lands here in Solurius. He wishes to journey to discover some rock formations that are of interest to him and I have also found them of profound interest as well. I feel that it will do us some good to back away and explore our feelings completely." He heard her words and his royal, perfect posture seemed to have disintegrated. Here she was telling him that she wished to be in the company of another man while he was here alone. The only thing that that said to him was that she did not want to be with him. He was a wise elf, old. Her searching these landscapes with someone else was not what he wished for, but he would never stop her. It was about keeping the one he loved content. His fingers still held to hers, but weakly. He finally raised those blue hues to meet hers. ?If you so wish to travel from me, so be it. Perhaps I deserve to be in your absence as you were in mine.? He felt an overwhelming wave of emotion hit him, the only thing effected was his voice. It was softer now as he continued. ?There is nothing left for my feelings to explore. They have found peace with your heart.. just as they have my entire existence. That is never going to change.? She nodded and turned her eyes away something she had never done before. "Be content Legolas... I am in no way taking another lover. I am simply taking some time to explore the lands, I am an ambassador now and I need to see every part of my home so I can better do my duty. I cannot say how long it will be." She looked up again and watched him closely for a moment she could see that she was tearing him apart but she knew not what to do. He heard the tone of her voice and he felt as if he was being scolded. He raised that gaze and that posture returned. So she was speaking in political issues now. Fine. He understood that she had her duties to her kingdom. He could not ask her to stay because of his own needs. Both of his hands held to hers now, almost a sign of refusal to lose that connection with her. He didn?t want her to go. How could he let her when he had just returned, when he was trying to get things back to normal? It was hard. He saw her look away and his fingers reached for her cheek, brushing against them softly. ?It will be as an eternity until you return to me, Uryviel.? She leaned into the caress and turned her face to kiss his palm as she whispered. "I swear to you I shall not let it be long Legolas... I am so sorry." She closed her eyes and dropped her head again. It was hurting her, but she had to have time to think and to do her duty to see if this was truly where her heart still lay. So many things were running through his mind, so many options. He wanted to ask her so terribly to come along, to join her in her journey through her kingdom. He wished so badly to know what it was that she was going to see. This was to be his home too. He wanted to know the land, the people. It was what he had been doing for two days, getting to know this place as his own to live here with the one he loved. How long would she be gone? His heart was already beginning to ache. He knew it was nothing compared to her grief. He felt that kiss to his hand and he leaned forward, taking one from her lips. He poured his heart and soul into that kiss, something to show her he would be hers forever. She tried in vain to hold back the tears, she knew that he loved her without a doubt. She loved him as well and this was tearing her apart. She returned the kiss with ardent love and passion but ended it quickly afraid that her heart would betray her once again. She had to do this it was the only way to find her true feelings and be sure this was what they both needed and wanted. She stood and took up the travel case she had just finished packing and started upstairs. "I have to finish getting ready...I will see you in a little while."
The grief had already set into his bones when he felt that hand being pulled away. Just ask her. Just ask her if you can accompany her. He felt like he was being torn apart by and Orc blade. His blond head turned slowly to watch her move over to the stairs and she would see tears in his eyes. He blinked them away quickly though, rising from his chair slowly. That royal posture was still there, but he did not move. ?Do you need help?? It wasn?t like he had anything else to do. He had devoted his time to her, so the least he could do was ask.? No.. thank you I have almost finished packing. I am not taking much, I expect that we will not be gone that long at all." She turned slightly to look at him and saw him brush the tears away and it sent a shock through her heart. She hated doing this but she needed that time to herself. She turned away rather quickly as she could feel her own tears once again. She did not know why but she wondered if he could ever truly be happy here. If he would ever be able to take on a semblance of life among man. She put the thoughts from her mind and continued up the stairs and to her room. He nodded when she told him no. He wanted to follow after her so he did. He wanted to tell her the truth of things. A part of his heart was still out there in the wilderness but that did not matter to him. He had a home here and he was beginning to fall in love with this simple place all over again. He jogged up those stairs with little effort, long legs carrying him quickly until he caught up with her. He trapped Uryviel in a tight hug, refusing to let her go at the moment. How could he allow her to walk away when they had just now found one another? They were meant to be together. They both had known it since they were children. He refused to let go of that. She felt his arms around her and it almost took her breath away. She turned in his embrace and looked at him fully now. "Legolas.. what..." She could not find the words for anything more. She looked at him and her heart began to melt. He was acting as if he thought she would never return. She could feel the intensity of his love for her and it sent fresh tears streaming down her face. She began to speak but her words were in their native tongue this time. "Tia jhyli Ai shor byr shi eirdae thysaelaes air air olia ei mys bysi eil Ai mar vaeres."(My love I will not be away forever, it is only a short journey and I shall return.) She held him close and one hand placed behind his head to bring it to her chest. She kissed the top of his head reverently, he was the only man that would ever truly understand her. She was by no means turning her back on him, he had to know that. He hadn?t meant to scare her or anything, he just felt as if his heart was breaking. He felt as if they were parting ways again, just as he had for the convoy with Aragorn?s people. He had spent his time in the White City. Too much time between them had been lost. He did not want to lose anymore. He heard her words and he relaxed. The speech of the elves always had him at ease. It reminded him of home. Eyes found hers after a little while, fingers moving to grasp her cheeks. ?Lle vesta, mela en colamin? ( Do you promise, love of my life? )? He was referring to her time away of coarse. He would sure die without her. The parting of ways was never a good thing. "Ai vystori si shol shor vaeres ti sai o eindral ber eir air vaeresaer o sai ti." (I promise the wind will return me to you again just as it returned you to me.) She said these words with conviction, she could not leave him to die and she knew in an instant that this was exactly his thinking. She had always been able to read even his deepest thoughts. Her heart was aching as she continued to hold him almost like a child in her arms. She let her tears fall freely and finally found the strength to release him. "I must finish my packing.... we will talk before I leave on the morrow."
