Jasper

There is a silence in snow fall with only the soft pitter patter of the flakes hitting their marks. The rivulets of blood marred the new war zone of shattered glass and perfect snowflakes and all Jasper could do was stare.

(Vai Vedrai che un sorriso, Nasconde spesso un gran' dolore, Vai Vedrai follia del uomo) go and you'll see that
a smile often hides a great sorrow, go and you'll see the madness of mankind.

The clenched fists in front of him eased as his mind shifted from the internal thoughts to the matter at... hands. It took some effort to unpeel the fingers from the rest of the glass, well, the parts that weren't embedded into his palm. Rekah was going to be upset with him, he couldn't heal in this world like he could in his own and she tended to notice little things. Okay, medium sized things? He sighed and started picking out the pieces of the thin cylindrical planters he had unintentionally murdered in his thinking.

The Reluctant Prince.. can't even keep it together.

He almost clenched his fists again as the fire fae sprang unbidden into his mind and spoke. Leviathen was safe in Dieanu but Jasper could still hear the words he would have said. His golden eyes had bled to black as he stared blankly at the deep red snow that rippled into pink droplets further along the path and a deep sigh eased part of his shoulders.

Everyone always wanted a happily ever after and to be royalty.. but the truth was being royal meant you had no freedoms. "Happily ever after" meant you had pleased everyone and done what THEY wanted. It meant you had married who was politically right for your family, you had allied with people you hated to insure a better future for your people. It meant you had given up everything about yourself, all your hopes and dreams and aspirations to become what -they- needed you to be and now they were no longer bothering you and you could quietly die. -That- was happily ever after for royalty.

The blood reminded him of Salvador then and for a brief second he recalled to memory being trapped in the half breed's hands. The coppery smell of blood and death had enclosed him and offered reprieve. The moment had frozen all of time for a second as all the possibilities ran through his head. Part of him feared death and part of him welcomed it. The latter had won out over the lethargic apathy to the thought of him just another meal for the half breed and so he had fought.

His wings unfurled from his skin with the thought trying to bring up his magic to calm himself, Earth was not supposed to be this impatient, he was losing himself. The stress had broken more than his patience and some vases, it had broken the foundation of Jasper himself. They had taken his world, taken his mother Queen Illianna, taken his twin and everything else from him.

Take away everything a man has and he has nothing left to lose.

His wings fanned slowly oblivious to the snowflakes drifting to rest on the myriad of colors and his eyes closed as he took in a deep breath. If something didn't change soon, he was going to go back to Dieanu and earn his third name properly. He'd become Jasper Silverblades ElementCaller and he would bring the holocaust to them, ten minutes was all he needed and his own death at the hands of said destruction would be a petty payment that he would relish.
