The Little Cottage

Rhydin is a vast land with many territories claimed or unclaimed. The magic within the land is also vast and can be molded to fit any number of dreams of how one would live. The home that Taneth created within Rhydin is no different.

The Little Cottage sits with a few trees as its backdrop, but nothing seemingly more behind it. The path leading to the cottage is lined with flowers that never seem to diminish and twinkle with some type of warm light. Surrounding the cottage and garden is a simple wooden fence and gate that looks as if the very trees gave their limbs to make the adornment. There does not seem to be any sort of security visible; however, if one is not invited to pass through then he or she simply will not be able to. In fact, if an uninvited tries to pass the fence and gate in anyway then he or she will be met with a very solid, nose smashing invisible brick wall. If, for some odd reason, an uninvited happens to get through the invisible wall then he or she will be not receive a warm welcome from the vegetation growing around the cottage. It will attack, suffocate, and literally sink one into the ground to become fresh fertilizer, so beware.

The vegetation growing within the confines of the fence and outside of the cottage is very beautiful. It thrums with life and the very heartbeat of the one who took the care to grow and nourish each little seed. One could see flowers of varying types and colors as well as different fruits and vegetables. The lushness of the garden suggests a loving, careful hand but there is something deeper. If one listened closely enough, they might hear and feel the heart beating within the garden. It is not ordinary.

No matter the season, the wind blows, but it is enough to tickle the skin, which just might be its intent. The sun shines just enough to feel the warmth on one?s cheeks. It could be snowing outside of her fence, but one may simply not feel or touch it if it is not meant to be there. The flowers may give the illusion of dancing with the wind or reaching up to the sun to pull down the warming rays for a tango. When one walks through the gate, it is like being embraced in the warming hug of life and love. At night, lanterns are lit throughout the garden as if the vegetation are having a party.

The cottage is usually filled with light and when one walks inside it usually smells of freshly made cookies and breads. Her living spaces may seem like an ordered sort of chaos with knick knacks and tokens scattered about. She has chairs, sofas, tables, lights, swords, knives, pillows, and blankets placed all over. A Taneth has definitely lived in the cottage and, despite the arrangement of items, it seems clean and a Taneth sort of neat. There are different rooms aside from the kitchen, living room, and bedroom. Each with a purpose, perhaps. There is also a backdoor, which probably leads to the back of her gardern?or something more.

The Misty Forest

You step out of the backdoor of the Little Cottage and find yourself once again in Taneth?s garden. A garden full of colorful flowers, lush plants, and perpetually ripe fruits and vegetables. Down the way, you notice a path leading through a stone tunnel, but just where did that path lead and what is the tunnel for?

You decide to go through the tunnel because, in truth, when might you be invited to Taneth's Misty Forest again? There is no other way to see what is beyond the tunnel as it is simply her garden and air. As you pass through the stone tunnel, you might notice the path of grass under your feet but what is more interesting is the covering above. The stone has changed to flowers, and you ask yourself did the pathway seem so deep from the outside? You may glance back, thinking to cross back to the cottage but then you would never know what curiosities were beyond the eerie splendor of this tunnel. So?you continue on.

Eventually, you make your way out into the light of the Misty Forest and the surrounding nature. The trees are thick and magnificent. The greenery, the size, and the life is thriving. The heartbeat of the land beats soundly and almost musically. How could this be done and hidden away? How could no random person venture here? One might feel the warmth and light of Taneth thrumming about the forest and realize it is the same protective barrier as her garden. Anyone uninvited would never be able to enter this land, especially since the only entrance is through the stone and flower path. It also should be noted that none can see into the forest from above unless you have entered through the tunnel. But?just how big is the Misty Forest?

As you begin to wander through the forest, you might hear the sound of running water and you might eventually think you are being watched (which you probably are). If you ever make it to the top of one of the mountains that are visible, you may just get a glimpse of just how vast the Misty Forest is. You will notice different creatures and beings roaming the land, but none seem too interested in attacking you. They might be curious, but if you are with Taneth or one of the welcomed then they will generally leave you be as they go about their business. However, if you dare to break a rule within the forest then the consequences can be most unfortunate for you. If a guardian, creature, or plant life does not kill you then the warmth and light you soon felt will turn to a darker, sinister force and you will find yourself lost, alone, and in a very deep and dark part of a very scary forest. A dark forest that seems never ending and like it is closing in on you.
