It was after hours, but hours still till the opening act. Lerida had stepped in only a half hour before, to wipe down the tables, mop the floor, arrange any of the furniture sets that were out of place and to turn each liquor label to facing forward. Once all was done, she wiped her brow and smiled, glad to be ready to go.

She heard all about the acts that appeared here, knew Darkkar somewhat and was excited to see his paramour and the club's biggest star give a whirl and get the crowd going. She braided her hair behind her head and wandered over to the store room, to make sure there was ample stock in the area's most popular spirits, and then returned to the bar and looked around. It really was a beautiful establishment. The dark wood and the artwork. It was reminiscent of a whole other time. Something sparkled within her, something that told her this place felt right.

WRONG ALLEY

Goin to Rhydin always seems to get meself turned round all which way, specially when there?s market day and all the carts and pigs and hollarin and music and odd Magikal bits poppin and flyin round in the air ? an suchwithlike. So, even knowin me way to Alais?s green walls and Tass?s dragony librariraienaummum, the market mess somehow gets me standin in an alley of warehouses that doesn?t look like me way at all.

But there?s a grand picture of a cat someone?s made on the wall, which makes me remember somethin I?s told by someone. I scratch a bit but can?t quitely recall who or what, or howfor this cat is somethin to see? Phoo. Well, best jest go in to see and say hullo and get on with things.

Inside its all foggy-like, though I?ll be steppin into marsh bits. Even smells fishy. Through the next doorway (which I knock me noggin on, confounded tiny carpenters) there?s an enormous loverly bar with wood carvins. Grand master of the grain did that, no doubt. Then there?s flowery things in pots and more paintin on the ceilin, and all verry nice for folks.

It?s quiet, bein no one in yet, methinks. Hear some knockin round in the back somewhere, but I think if someone comes, I still dunno who I came to say hullo to? well, say hullo to them. No matter.

It was not as empty as it seemed in the club, The dark haired catling was curled in one of the booths along the back wall with a stack of paperwork, while Leri was in the back room making sure that the bar was perfectly stocked. Kina did not regret for a second hiring the woman to work for them. She seemed to fit like a rough diamond in a simple setting.

The entrance of Rab got a nod and a smile, the catling flowing to her feet in a graceful manner to slip behind the bar. "It's still early yet, but welcome to the Alley Cat Club. The entertainment starts up in about half an hour, But you are welcome to get a drink till then, or wander back to the dinning room and order a meal. We have the best authentic Italian food around and the biggest selection of imported wines."

Out she walked with cardboard boxes, folded and ready to trash, when her brows arced, lips stretched into a smile and she stood on her tippy toes, glad for seeing Kina about, and for a guest!

"Heya sugah pie", she said with a smirk, perhaps to tease memory out of him, for he looked mighty lost.

"I was thinkin' for a time you'd forgotten all about me", she cooed in a pretty pout, her girlish voice lilting as she said his name a few times and circled him, looking him up and down.

"My, I forgot just how tall you is!"

She stared up at him and then threw a wink over to Kina, and then headed for the trash can to the far right, beyond the bar, and stashed the cardboard there. Then, spinning on a heel and moving right behind the counter she gestured to the devastatingly good liquor selection at her shoulder, in a bid to back up Kina's offer, as she flourished with her hand towards the shiny shiny bottles.

"Take yer pick, sweetins"
