The fiery redhead was pacing around on the balcony, a paintbrush tucked behind her ear and an auburn streak of paint on her face. She was staring at a woman who was her Mirror image and ranting on and on about something or another.

"You know you cant sit here day in and day out associating with no one but that pilot guy You and lana are always talking about but TRUST ME. You should keep your eyes open to the things that are happening around us. This place has so much more to offer than home had. But by the same token this place is also far more dangerous. Is it true that he is not affected by your abilities?"

She was lecturing her twin sister trying to get it through her head that she should be a bit more intelligent about who she let into the house. A snap of fingers infront of Kalista's face as if to snap the young woman out of a daze she was in.

"Hello Kali this is important! If you cant use your power on him, and he is completely resistant to a psi attack, how do you know that he isnt another hunter? We didnt come all this way for you to be snatched in the night and killed for your essence"

At least Kali would respond to that. Audren always knew which button to push to get her undivided attention. A sigh and she sat down on the railing next to her sister. She didnt want to upset her sister, but it wasnt any use Kalista wasnt very adept in her abilities to begin with and now this man was around and it was making her very nervous.

"Kali listen I am not trying to make anyone feel like they arent right for you. But psions dont keep time with folks who are resiliant to psionic abilities. Thats all."

She didnt like being yelled at, by Kalista especially. Her breath came short and she shook her head. Fingertips were tingling and she calmed down quickly before anything weird happened. Unlike Kali Audren had full control over her abilities. She sighed and got off the railing sitting down on one of the plush leather chairs.

"None of us know him either. I dont think its a good idea having him in the same house as Gaven and Amelia. He could be trouble"

She raised both hands up as if that was all she had to say about that. She wasnt trying to be rude she was just concerned about her niece and nephew. Eyes shifted up to Kali hoping that some of this was sinking in. Although she was sure it wasnt.

Stalker was having a wonderful dream. He and Kali were on a beach without a care in the world. There was some yelling in the distance but he didn?t care. There was a lingering scent?that didn?t seem right though. He rolled onto his side and reached in front of him?and felt around for a moment. Then he realized the yelling he heard in his dream was actually nearby. He blinked sleepy eyes and looked around. It took a couple of moments but he finally realized he was in Kali?s room. Stalker sat up and rubbed his eyes. He was surprised that he didn?t feel Kali get up. He hadn?t slept that soundly in years.

The sound of drawers slamming and things being thrown made him realize something wasn?t right. He started to will himself further awake and swung his legs off the bed. He reached down and slipped his flight boots on, snapping the enclosure?s shut. He then stood up and started going out the bedroom door. He paused just long enough to eye his blaster and holster, draped over his flight jacket. Then what was being yelled finally hit him.

"We love each other. Maybe if you met him and knew him. Youd understand that he doesnt mean us anyharm. As for me not having him here. I will be more than happy to leave with him. I noticed there was a nice loft for rent near the teashop in the market."

Stalker frowned. Was she fighting with Lana? He walked out of Kali?s room, leaving his blaster and flight jacket behind and walked toward where he heard Kali?s voice. He was still rubbing sleep from his eyes. He was just about to enter the room when he spoke up. ?Honey, is everything ok? What?s all the yell?.um?? Stalker blinked when he saw Audren. It took him a full 5 seconds to realize he wasn?t seeing double and that Kali had a twin sister, only with freckles. His blue eyes shifting from concern for Kali, to surprise, to wonder. He was wondering if, maybe, he should have stayed in bed. Sister?s fighting usually wasn?t a good thing to get involved in.

?Hello?, Stalker managed to say, a little surprise in his voice. He looked over at Kali has he moved toward her. ?Am I interrupting? I can get my stuff and come back later, if you?d like?? He hoped she didn?t want him to leave. He wanted to be by her side to support her.

"I NEVER SAID I WANTED YOU TO LEAVE!"

There was a stomp of her foot and she turned quickly to see Kali standing there with her boyfriend. She swallowed hard and shook her head to the two of them. Great. This would not end well. She hadnt felt a warning at all that the anti Psi had entered the house and this could only mean one thing. Her eyes went wide and she stared at Kali.

"You two are SLEEPING TOGETHER?!"

No it wasnt her buisness but she was shocked. Kali was little miss sweet and innocent. She hadnt ever so much as brought a boy home to meet the family. It wouldnt have shocked Audren if she had learned her sister had never even kissed a boy and apparently this one was sleeping in her bed and... It made Audren shake her head hard. She couldnt believe this.

SHe took a deep breath and started pacing. Yes she could handle this. If this gentleman was spending the night she had no say in anything. If he was sleeping over it meant that Lana had been asked. Audren pushed a hand out towards the man. She was going to at least TRY to be civil to the young man.

"Im Audren. I am supposed to say that it is a pleasure to meet you. Instead I am saying if you hurt my sister I am going to rip you into a million little pieces, burn each one seperate from every other and use the ashes to make black pigment."

She said it all with a little smile and she looked almost insane enough to be believed in saying something like that. Audren was being nice. This was considered civil for the young woman.

His response to her was very strange indeed. She had expected him to be angry. To show her some sign of temper. Her head canted as he proved her completely wrong. Then she watched him. Watched him extremely carefully. As he looked at Kali, when he kissed her. The words he said. It all made her feel much less worried some how. She did try to weasle her way into his thoughts to make sure he was being a hundred percent honest with her. A sigh as it was to no avail.

She should have seen that coming though. Kali and Lana had both told her he was a psions worst nightmare. She sized him up. Anyone her size should not have even considered sizing him up. But just because he wasnt able to be attacked mentally didnt mean she couldnt hold her own if the time came. As he explained that they had simply slept. Nothing more. She was relieved. It was her only wish that her sister be treated with the respect that she deserved.

It was aparent that Stalker loved Kali. But she still wasnt completely sure if she was ready for that. She took a deep breath and chewed on her bottom lip. That was her tell tale sign that she was deep in thought. Turning a bit to look to Kali and then back to Stalker she returned his shake with a firm one of her own. She nodded to him and spoke

"Well...I dont know why anyone would hurt someone like Kali. But it has happened. Im not ready for it to happen again. She is a really special person. So just. Be careful with her. She is extremely sensitive. And I am hoping that when all is said and done she stays that way."

Yes she had said her piece and had let go of Stalkers hand. It wasnt anything offensive this time. She was just being very careful with her word so as not to upset her sister. She prayed she was doing a good job. Her emerald eyes searched Stalkers. He would notice her eyes were less innocent, not quite as bright. She still had memories Lana had washed clean from her sister. A nod to him and she smiled a crooked hald cocked smile in silent approval.

Kali would stand perfectly still as Audren puller her Jean Gray mumbo jumbo. A sigh touched her pale pink lips. Frustration pulsed through her but she was keeping it in close check. Shifting her weight from one foot to the other made her a little less antsy but over all she just wanted to get all of this done with. As Stalker hugged her she clung to him. Fingers pressed hard against his back as if she was afraid he would want to let go. Her fears came crashing to reality as he loosened the hug, she on the other hand didn?t. She held him just as tightly as she had been.

As for letting him know. Her eyes went sharp to Audren and her voice was loud and clear in her head. ~One word from you about any of it and I will be very upset. I don?t need to lose the best thing that ever happened to me over his escapades to go find Dad. The name changes and relocation seemed to have worked. I don?t think we need to bring him down on Stalker. Or us for that matter.~ The mental link was proverbially slammed shut as she turned her face up to meet his. A smile offered to the one she loved as she spoke quietly.

?I can assure you anything considered a danger at this point has been taken care of. Right now it is all about us living our lives and making the best with what we have been given.?

The sweet and innocence of her voice carried up to him. She was being sincere. She just wasn?t pushing information on him that he didn?t need to concern himself with. Arms went to tightening around him as she rested her head against his chest. Stealing a glance through thick lashes up at him every possible time she could.

Stalker realized something went on between the sisters. They looked at each other a little too long and it was quiet. He caught the look from Audren with the nod and soft eyes. He bent over to give Kali a quick kiss and responded to Kali?s comment.

?Yes, my sweet Kali. I think that?s a good idea.?

He then looked over at Audren as he gave Kali another tight hug, this time holding it. He suppressed a chuckle at being called Mister Stalker.

?Audren, I?ll be there as fast as I can when called for, I promise.? Then he looked back at Kali. ?You know, I probably should head home for a bit to take a quick shower.? He sighed, he really didn?t want to leave, though. He wanted to stay with Kali, holding her in his arms.

Kali stared at Audren as she gave her a face. A roll of her eyes was all of the answer offered to her twin. She was perfectly sure about this man. He was lovely and he treated her like a princess. She didn?t have to sleep alone anymore and he was always right there when she needed him. Plus it was nice to talk to someone who didn?t wiggle their way into her head. She leaned into his embrace and looked up at him with a perky little smile. She would be content to just stand here in his arms all day.

Her head deadpanned to Audren as she was so rude. A frown and she rolled her eyes once more. A stern look on her face for her mirror image. She spoke through her teeth as she glared at Audren.

?Stalker can shower in my bathroom if he wants to. Or else I will be waiting here for him?

She knew that he would have to leave because he didn?t exactly have clothing there in the treehouse to change into. She didn?t think she had anything he would wear either. Kali had a series of gowns in all colors and styles but none seemed to be something stalker would be interested in. The idea made her giggle as she rested her head against his chest. The glance up to him now held a ?no worries? sort of air to it. As if to tell him he could leave and she wouldn?t be upset. She would be of course waiting with baited breath for his return. She slipped both tiny hands into his larger ones. She didn?t want him to go either but she wasn?t going to force him to stay.

There would be a glare to Stalker as he glanced over to her. A Raise of her brows and she shook her head. As he raced out of the room both hands found a hip and she stared at Kali then the SECOND that Stalker was out of the house she pulled her twin into the master bathroom with a bright smile. She sat Kali down on the vanity chair and started brushing through her hair. A curling iron turned on and left to rest on the sink.

?How was that? Do you think I scare him? Because I have a feeling I was laying it on too thick. But since Alana is away we are going to have to make due with what we have. He makes me nervous either way Kals. But if you?re sure he is it than I guess I cant say a thing to stop you?

Curling iron was lifted and slowly Audren was coaxing her sisters auburn hair into long red banana curls. She was thinking and just making one dramatic curl after another. She was looking in the mirror over Kali?s shoulder at her. A shake of her head and then her Jaw dropped open.

?This is the boy you?re going to marry isn?t it! Oh god. I don?t know if I can handle this.?

She took a deep breath and shook her head again. After all the hair was curled she began pinning it up into a lovely little up do in the back of Kali?s head a sigh and she nodded to the door.
