The Headmaster of Ravensheart Academy approached Arcanum Academy with a slight smile on his face. He entered and looked for the Administration Offices and asked the first person he saw if he could arrange a meeting with Headmaster Kurgen.

( I oppologize profusely for the extremely late response to this post )

An office page would show the gentleman to the Head Master's office on the second floor of the Academy's main hall as it was currently a lunch period.

The room itself was simple in location and decor as it was situated between the Academy library and the potions lab. Three bookshelves sat behind the simple mohagany desk, their shelves lined with a menagerie of aging books and refference indexes from modern chemisty to natural healing. Two chairs were situated before the desk both appearing well used and comfortable. Portraits hung on the walls, each one holding images of places found in wild parts of nature; Abandoned temples, frozen palaces, unexplored mountains. Behind his desk sat the Headmaster himself between a small mountain of folders, atop of which were strewn a handful of papers, tests at first glance from red marks and comments in the margins.

"Headmaster, there is a gentleman here to see you."

His hand paused in mid stroke over the current test when the page spoke, then he finished marking an 87% in the top left corner. "Thank you Malechi." Pen set aside, Artemus poured a bit of sand over the page to dry up the ink then lifted it so as not to bend the paper and dispensed the sand back into the small container at his right hand. Setting the papers in a neat stack, they were then placed into a folder marked "Late".

"How can I help you?"

Coming to a standing positions, Artemus looked at the man and raised a brow.

"I know you, Briarius right? What brings you to my humble office?"

"Greetings Headmaster Kurgen."

He smiled at his name.

"I am afraid that your memory of me is better than my memory of you. You are correct, I am Briarius Ravensheart, Headmaster of Ravensheart Academy. I come to speak to you as one Headmaster to another. As you may know, RhyDin is not a place where education is taken so seriously. I wish to change that."

Offering Briarius a nod, Artemus moved the small stack of folders on his desk to a nearby drawer to open up some space for them to talk without clerical distraction.

"I agree with you in that regard, it is one of the many reasons I opened this school among wanting to leave a legacy and increase tolerance of other races. Despite the diversity of the city populous, many are ignorant of beings beyond their own kind."

Seat retaken, the Headmaster of Arcanum Academy motioned for Briarius to have a seat.

"Make yourself comfortable and tell me what you have in mind to change this city-realms views on education."

The Headmaster sat.

"As you may or may not have heard, I too had a School of Magickal Studies. After realizing that RhyDin needed a more general educational base, I converted my school to something where students may learn whatever they may wish to study. Not to mention serving as a primary school for our children."

"No, I had not heard such concerning Ravensheart. Then again we here at Arcanum have been preoccupied over the last few weeks with mid-terms and test preparation."

Deep emeralds watched Brarius thoughtfully, their glowing hue swirling for a moment then settling again as though the small ripple reflected his thoughtful visage.

"How do you see the Arcanum Academy fitting into this endeavor? I think that is a place we should start, as this is a private facility, though we do cater to all who wish to learn not just casting magick, but understanding it and its place in this world."

"Synergy."

The Headmaster of Ravensheart said that one word plainly and simply, as if to draw more emphasis to it.

"Put simply, I feel that becoming sister institutions would benefit both of our Academies. If a student was coming from Ravensheart, you could be assured that they have the foundations of education that any well respected Academy can come to respect. In turn, I know that any students that come from Arcanum are exemplary students who understand the rigors of Academia."

The Headmaster of Arcanum Academy was silent for a moment, allowing his fingers to steeple before him on the desk as he watched the man before him.

"Your words are true. Yet there is another aspect that may come about, which I am sure you have all ready had thoughts on. Competition."

That was his singular word with emphasis to match synergy.

"Often when two such institutions as yours and mine decide to co-operate the students often seek to define a rivalry. How would you wish to proceed if such were to arise? I might condone it to a certain extent as rivalry is healthy."

Briarius

"Of course. As long as everything were in good nature and non-destructive. Rivalry is an excellent way to inspire diligence. I too would espouse any rivalry that may occur to a degree. In fact, if there were any other schools we could involve, there is the possibility of inter-school competitions."

"Very well then. You have come here in good faith so I will agree to help you in good faith. However I do request that any formal agreement we make be laid down in ink for documentation. Keep this as legal and official as either of us can manage given the chaos of Rhydin."

Offering Briarius a nod, Artemus rose and extended a hand towards the other Headmaster. "I apologize for having to cut this short, but the next period is about to begin, and I have a Magic Theory class awaiting me. And their essay results I am sure." A small smirk at the essay comment as he knew full well they were dreading the results.

Briarius stood and shook his hand.

"Of course, at the very least, we will have documents that will guide our future administrators."

The Headmaster smiled and left.
