Topic: A visit by the bear

The bear pulled up to the estate in his 1950 VW Beetle, that, if one heard very carefully, made the cutest 'putt-putt-putt' sound as it drove up the way. The bear climbed out of the car and waddled the way to the front door, giving "oooooooooh" sounds of curiosity as he made his way through the front lawn.

Finally coming up to the front doors, he was about to knock on it when he hesitated. He had no guarantee that any of the residents were home. Maybe Kitty was slaving over her governor's desk? Maybe Chryrie was off exploding some kitchen (possibly because someone was unfortunate enough to let her in)? Of course, no one inside would know he was here unless he knocked in the first place. He finally knocked a paw on the doors.

Chryrie

The fae wasn't blowing up kitchens today. It had been made perfectly clear to her by all too many that she was to stay out of kitchens. Little wonder Kitty paid to have that strange contraption installed in the fae's home.

Chryrie had been keeping herself busy with going between her new medical office and helping Kitty tend to things. Kitty had become sick in some fashion. She wasn't leaving House Helston hardly at all except to go to her office and sign whatever paperwork the Chicken and Erin had drawn up for her.

She was in the midst of having little magical constructs help her clean up the huge Helston home when she heard the knock at the door. It took only moments for her to reach it and peer outside before opening the door wide to the large bear.

"Snorlax! So lovely to see you! Kitty will be so glad to have some company that isn't trying to get something from her. Come in! Come in!"

She almost pulled the bear inside, leading him to where Kitty lay reclined on a sofa. She was paler than usual, and her hair lay in tangles about her shoulders. Black circles were under the feline woman's eyes as she stared out the nearest window, and her tail lay completely still on the seat next to her. But when she saw the bear, she mustered a smile.

Chryrie shooed the bear into a chair next to her sister with a smile. "Sit! Sit! Relax. I'll be back in a bit with some iced tea."

And then the fae was gone through a door, only the clicking of her stilleto heeled boots revealing where she went.

Chryrie shooed the bear into a chair next to her sister with a smile. "Sit! Sit! Relax. I'll be back in a bit with some iced tea."

The bear gave a satisifying "mmmmmmm" sound at Chryrie's mention of a beverage. He planted his rump into the chair as the fae went into the other room. He looked over to Kitty. "Snor." He said with a smile, which probably was him simply saying hello.

She was paler than usual, and her hair lay in tangles about her shoulders. Black circles were under the feline woman's eyes as she stared out the nearest window, and her tail lay completely still on the seat next to her. But when she saw the bear, she mustered a smile.

This, he thought, was highly unusual of Kitty to act and look unalert. He cited her appearance and cycled through that '8 years of medical school' mind what could be the cause. A simple bug? The cold? The flu? He couldn't exactly make a diagnosis by merely looking at her, but it appeared she was in the good hands of the fae, so he dismissed that business. Besides, he didn't come to make a house call. He reached over and lightly patted the strangely lifeless tail. "Snorlax Snor." The bear spoke in a soft, comforting tone.

She smiled at the pat, but her tail remained still. Little beads of perspiration could be seen on her face. It was obvious she had a fever, but she didn't say anything about the discomfort or what was wrong with her. She just smiled that vague smile.

"I didn't think you'd ever come to see me, Snorlax. I was sure I had scared you away from House Helston."

Her clawed fingers absently toyed with the afghan that was draped over her legs and she looked to the window again for a moment before looking back to the bear.

"I've started watching the birds outside. Do you know you can learn a lot from just watching them? I envy them sometimes. They seems so.. free."

She took the iced tea from her sister when Chryrie breezed through. She then watched her sister scurry off in another direction to do only goddess knew what. Her eyes did a slow tired blink then as she looked back to the bear.

"So what brings you here Huggybear?"

"So what brings you here Huggybear?"

It wasn't exactly easy for him to strike up a conversation, especially when his vocabulary consisted of saying his name in part or whole. Rather, he liked expressing himself through actions, such as the small plate of choco chip cookies he pulled out and held out to the mordehei. "Snorlax Snor Snor" He said with a grin. He figured that if anything was going to help her get better, keeping her on a full stomach might be a good idea.

She never could understand what he was saying, but his pantomimes and various actions always relayed it well enough. And this time was no different, as the plate of cookies appeared before her. One of these days she'd figure out where he kept things in that round body of his.

"Oh Huggybear. You always know the way to my heart. " She chuckled weakly. She could barely keep anything down these days, but that didn't stop her from reaching over to take a cookie and try to eat it anyway. Maybe Chryrie would have more of those pills that helped her not hork.

She barely had two bites before her stomach started doing flipflops, but she kept that smile on and just took smaller bites.

"I should've known that putt putt noise I heard outside was your little car."

One Lucky Spider

Lucky crawled onto the bear's shoulder, having hitched a ride on the back of his head. The spider tilted his head, looking about the expansive room. If there was this much room to explore, just imagine the house...

His eight eyes turned to the plate of cookies that Kitty was nibbling at. "Ooh, semi-sweet!" The spider pounced forward, but overshot his target and instead landed on the afghaned lap of the werepanther. After a second of gaining his bearings, he looked up at Kitty as if he had just noticed her. "Hiya!"

Suddenly Kitty had a giant spider on her lap. Were she in her right mind, she would have yelped and the afghan along with said spider would have gone flying. But she wasn't in her right mind. She was barely conscious, to be honest.

So when Lucky landed and made his belated greeting, Kitty just slowly blinked at him before offering a bite of her cookie.

"Hello Lucky. Did you just come along for the cookies?"

She smiled tiredly and let her head fall back against the back of her chair, her eyes fighting to stay open.

The darkness was reaching for her again.

Snorlax noticed her weariness and decided it was time to go and leave Kitty alone so she could rest. He got up from his seat and waddled up to her, bending over to plant a caring smooch on her forehead, at the same time scooping Lucky into his arms. "Snorlax Snorlax Snor." He smiled down on the elf. 'Get well soon' was probably the closest anyone would come in translation to what he said, if that was possible.

The bear and the spider waved to Kitty. On their way out, they turned in the direction Chryrie had headed off in. "Snorlax!" "Bye bye!" They called out, then stepped out the front door of House Helston and piled into the Beetle. The roar of the engine could be heard through the front rooms of the house, followed by the gentle putt-putt sound as it sped away.
