The drow sat quietly in front of Chryries place. The simple chair holding his weight as he carved on a piece of wood with practiced hands. The cool breeze bright sun made it a beautiful day to be outside for almost everyone. He looked up as he waited, this was going to be a good day.

The dark elf looked up as he seen them coming around the bend. 2 figures walked quietly with purpose through the town. One stood 5'10" tall with short brownish blond hair, and elvish features through out his face. He had a peacefull look that belied the well toned body, the image of a panther moving through the streets was more accurate then a human. He wore simple brown robes with only a symbol on the left breast and one on his back. He carried a mediums size pack that did not seem to weigh him down at all. His last item was an ornate staff that he held in his right hand. Which also the other figure held on to as they moved.

The other figure held tight the staff and walked with a wonderous awe in her eyes, constantly looking around at everything. She kept up with the man amazingly enough and there strides were in perfect harmony even though she just toped 3 feet. Her green leather shirt and pants had simple designs on them. Her red hair seemed to bounce in time with her stride and the occasional point and aww came here and there but other wise she held on to the staff and watched in wonder up until she seen the drow.

With excitment that was barly contained she pointed down the road and looked up. With a nod she was off runing a bee line towards the drow. The drow stood up grinning ear to ear and as the little girl got close she bounded up into his arms "Granpaa!" Any other words were drowned out as CKalb hugged the little girl spinning her a around once. He stoped and smiled down at her, "And how is my little Petal doing? You know I have missed you." He kissed her on the forhead and she giggled. Wrapping her arms around his neck for a better grip she smiled," I missed you too Granpa CKalb." She giggled some more and kissed his cheek hugging his face with all her stregth. CKalb looked to see the other man walk up the last few feet.

"Orian my son how in the shadows are you doing?" the two clasped hands briefly then with his only free hand he hugged his son for a moment which produced another giggle from the little girl in his other arm. With that CKalb released his grip on the elf. "I am doing good dad, glad to be able to finally visit." His smile was genuine and his face Orian had a lot of his fathers features in him. They all sat down in front of the house and after pouring each of them some water he had set out they started talking. It was going to be a good day. (TBC)

Petal sat quietly on CKalb's leg. A large oversized cookie in her hands as she scaned around happy in a content world. CKalb sat back in the wooded chair drinking a glass of sweet water and occasionally letting his grand daughter take a taste. Orian, with water in hand, sat next to them all enjoying the day.

"So how is your wife," and after a quick tickle of the little girl, " and Petals mom doing these days. I wish she could have made the trip." Petal spoke up after removing the cookie from her mouth. "Mom is helping the gnome king Butitsnotright."With that the cookie returned to her mouth as she sat kicking her legs. Orain chuckled, "Yes Auria is up with the Northern Doorknob gnomes helping them with a kobold problem. Actually she is healiing them as they hurt themselves more then anything." CKalb Chuckled, "Ah yes understandable. Have you heard from your sisters or brother latly?" Orian nodded, "Uncle Mathias is the one who made Petal's cloths." The man paused, " Oh yes I forgot to tell you." He smiles and looks to the little girl. "Petal Could you Show your grandpa the new thing you learned?" Petals red hair bounced a bit as she nodded yes. "But you have to hold my cookie daddy and you can't loose it!" the fierce determination in her voice made sure to ephisize the point. He handed her cookie to her father and them smiled up to CKalb. "Okay gra-paa watch!" And she closed her eyes and seemed to squeeze real hard and her form shrank and changed into a small fuzzy grey squirrel. CKalbs eyes opened wide, "I knew she had druid affinity like her uncle Laztec but she knows wild form allready?" Orian laughed as the squirrel turned back in to the little girl. "Yes and that is the reason for the enchanted leather clothing. Uncle Mathis did not think it very lady like for young Petal to be running around bare bottomed every time she changed." The girl giggled as her dad messed up her hair and returned her cookie.

CKalb smiled, "Your full of suprises little one." Again she giggled as her hair got messed up. Orain looked at CKalb the look was serious almost sad. "Dad, did you ever finish what you had to do?" The drows eyes darkened a moment almost letting a serious mood take him, " yes The soul was returned." He smiled again quickly afterward messing up the girls hair so as not to destroy the happy mood for the day. And your Great Uncle Xai is watching Mara so everyone is doing good." Petal chimed in. "Uncle Xai is funny. He makes things dissappear." And then she returned to her cookie. The look from Orian told the drow that it was a slippery subject there but CKalb let it drop.

"So what next? Were are you all headed to." the drows voice was returned to its light and happy tone. The young girl chimed in. "We are headed to see Gra-ma Megan next." Orain cringed a little but CKalb smiled. "Tell her I said hi when you go okay." The little girl nodded.
The rest of the conversation rotated around various things, many old, some new but all related one way or another, just like his family.

Knite

((This is NOT taken Verbatim, but a post of a RP session. as much as I can remember))

Moon's words were quiet the conversation somewhat light. "Your brother is not drake, how is that so?" Knite looked at her and smiled.

Well he is drow more or less but he isn't dragon by anyone?s standards. It happened when we were both born, well him born I was hatched. When we both came into this world his mother and my mother were together. Each of us was born with cretin deficiencies. Our minds were not whole, our bodies were failing and our very souls were not complete. CKalb's Mother who while in drow form was not really a drow but something else. Something even he does not know for sure. But she had us placed on an alter and with our life forces failing She some how through some ritual she merged us into one being. We were then made whole through the conjunction. Each taking something?s of the other into him. My longevity and alternate form I attribute to this. Then when we were whole again, our mothers separated us, taking those traits with us. CKalb was left with my parents and me and he grew up together.

So although we did not have the same mother, we are brothers in the most sincere term. And that is how we always shall be.

The black and red dragon banked against the high mountain pass. The adult dragon had made 3 passes and this was her fourth. Then she saw it. The opening was small, camouflaged, and just revealed to her. She dived, spinning slowly she dove into the earth. The cavern winded a bit then opened into a huge chamber. She seen a large space below and pulled up and landed gently. "Hello??" Her voice echoed off the chamber and reached the one occupant.

Knite sat quietly hidden in shadows. The recess he was in gave a perfect few of the visitor. The Female dragon was young adult, her black scales each held a tint of red/orange. Her horns were small for her size but a couple of scars gave proof of her age. The ancient dragon stepped out from the recess and headed towards the young dragon. "Dusk! What brings my grand daughter all the way to my lair?"

She turned and with a great leap landed in Knite's embrace. " Grandan Knite. I have missed you so... " She nuzzled the older dragon. Knite nuzzled her back, "Now now dear Dusk I have not been gone that long. And I take it this little trip is for your ring?"

The young dragon smiled, and Knite lead her to a huge wooden book case of sorts. On it there were hundreds of slots some with rings, some with out. Knite pulled one off from a slot with her name on it. "Here you go dear one." You are the first of your clutch to find me. You know the rules. "

The young dragon took the ring and slipped it over her small talon on her left hand. It immediately disappeared. She looked up at the older dragon and smiled. "Grandan can I stay with you for a few days?"

Knite smiled, "Of course you can make yourself at home." Dusk grinned a toothy grin and jetted off to explore Knite's new Lair. Knite just watched after her. Family was always there one way or another.
