She had her assignment from Kitty and she was more than happy to carry it out. She had been keeping her eye on the situation brewing between the Lawyers and some of whom she considered key figures in RhyDin but she had yet to get her feet wet by entering the fray. It wasn?t that she had no interest in the affair (she certainly did if they had, indeed, kidnapped Tass) but she was biding her time. Jewell knew what the consequences of spreading herself too thin were, and since she was already knee-deep in the West End she was unable to devote herself whole-souled into this culminating problem as well.

She was willing to help in any way that she was able, though. When Kitty requested that she retrieve the recording devices The Oracle had set up in the Inn it wasn?t a matter of would she or wouldn?t she, it was just a matter of when she would get it done. Leaving the Inn shy of the midnight hour, she devoted a few hours to her shift in the West End: patrolling the docks and dealing swiftly and efficiently with anyone that stepped out of line. However, before the light of day struck the city (cueing the turning of the shifts and allowing her to return home to her bed and husband) she was leaving her assigned area behind and returning once more to the now empty Inn. There was a very small window of time when the Inn was actually empty, before the rising of the sun when even those who drank themselves into a stupor departed for some place to pass out, or took up residence on the few couches scattered throughout the common room, before returning again in the early morning hours to begin drinking anew. Entering the Inn through the alleyway door, blue hair concealed under the black scarf and her body hugged by her standard catsuit, she took a cautious look around (no sense in having everyone knowing what she was up to) and got to work.

When Kitty had originally asked her, she had considered going right to Des and requesting that they hand over the recording devices (or at least their locations). However, that whole process would be lengthy and, in the end, involve too many people who would know what they were up to. The Empress had opted for more piratey means of obtaining the devices (a sure sign that Stephen was a bad influence on her). She wandered methodically about the Inn stealing the recording devices from their hidden places, being sure to cover every nook and cranny. The task was easy enough: her ability to shift forms allowing her easy access to some of the tighter corners of the Inn while defying gravity to reach the ceiling-corners and the rafters also proved no problem. The sun was coming up but still she continued her search; she wanted to ensure that Kitty had more than enough evidence to clear Tass of the charges against him.

Only when she felt satisfied that she had done the most thorough job she could do within a limited time space did she leave the Inn behind. She gathered the devices up in an extra scarf she had remembered to bring, tying it off to keep them safely enclosed within and then tying it to her arm to ensure she did not lose the precious evidence as she moved through the city streets. Weary by this point and longing for her bed, she had to make the drop off before returning home; she knew this could not wait. Swift steps carried her to House Helston, fingers playing with the marble she had made sure to carry this day to alert Kitty to her presence.
