What was it the guy wanted again? Oh yes. Follow his wife while he was out of town on business. The man had suspected her of cheating on him, and wanted either proof, or piece of mind that she wasn't. Simple enough.
She was in panther form, resting in a tree that was in a small wooded area near the merchant's house. It was well after sunset when a man came to the house. He rapped on a window. The front door opened and then closed once the man was inside. Kitty yawned and then hopped down from her perch and crept her way to the house. Once reaching it, she shifted to her normal form and moved to the windows.
Her narrowed gaze made out the two figures... and they were very very close. It wasn't long before it was obvious what they were doing... and it wasn't playing checkers.
What did that merchant say? Oh yes. If she was caught in the act.. kill them both. Eugh. Killing was such a nasty business. But.. well.. it paid well, and it wasn't like she cared about the woman. In fact, she had a disdain for any person who made sacred vows and then so blatantly broke them. She shook her head and then slipped to around to another wall of the house. She flexed her claws and then carefully scaled up the side to an open window on the second floor. Once through she snuck towards the stairs, pausing only once to grab the sword that the merchant had left for her.
She glanced down the stairs briefly. She could see them. They were so involved in what they were doing, a tornado could have blown through and they wouldn't have known. That made it all the easier to slip down the stairs and come up next to them. They never even saw her. She closed her eyes for a moment as she drew a breath, then in one swift movement she drove the blade through them both, pinning them to the couch where they lay together.
She spun on her heel and let herself out the back door. The merchant would find them when he returned home and discover the truth of his wife and her lover.
