Ixora entered the New Eden corporation, the reception lobby was reminiscent of a hospital not that she had ever seen or heard of one. She noticed the advertisements that littered the room. Screens with a young woman proclaiming promises of what the MegaCorps had to offer for those who chose to work for them. She wondered if the secretary who worked the front desk ever got annoyed with listening to the woman's speech repeat itself over all day long.
Confidence exuded off of her as she approached the brunette secretary, "I am here to apply for work."
An application was slapped onto the desk, "We'll need to see identification and documentation of your birth as well as a resume so we can make copies." The woman's response was automatic and she snapped the gum she was chewing only to return to her crossword or whatever it was she was doing. She wasn't used to seeing such things and she didn't make an effort to look and see what exactly it was.
Ixora snatched a pen off the desk and seated herself in one of the empty seats of the lobby, filling out the paper. It took a while before she had finished the tedious task. When the application had been completed she set the paper down along with her ID, birth certificate, and the sheet with her supposed work experience claiming her as Ixa Dazz.
The secretary rose to her feet, picked up the papers and placed each one down individually on top of a rectangular glass item that rested on one of the counters. Ixora tried not to stare at it in foreign manner as a laser scanned over the page and printed an exact replica of each item. If she hadn't been there under the order of another person then she might have allowed herself to stand there with her mouth agape in an astonished manner.
There was no interview. Instead she had been instructed to wait in one of the chairs for the person that she would be working under to meet her. She wasn't given a specific time nor an estimate of how long she would have to wait. Her gaze roamed over the room, absorbing each aspect of it while she waited as patiently as she possibly could.
