And this folder is for tech specs of the various ships, ship types, and weapons of the 157th.

Much of the technical information will be taken from Volition's own files as well as Hard Light Productions' Wiki on the game, and unless noted otherwise they have been used as the source.

However, the ship names and histories (where applicable) are of my own creation.

We'll begin with descriptions of the various weapons the capital ships can carry.

Beam Weapons

Beam weapons were invented in 2355 ((Freespace Universe)), after the Hades Rebellion. The first class of ship which was fully designed with beam weapons in mind may have been the GVCv Sobek, which is said to have entered service "after the destruction of Vasuda Prime." These weapons opened a door for advanced technology to flow into the GTVA's arsenal.

Beam weapons are generally developed against ships larger than a bomber craft, which are big enough to be targeted with these guns. Modern capital ships engage each other with beam weapons rather than turrets of any other kind. In minutes, one of the duelists will be floating in vast space, torn apart by beam hits from the vanquisher's guns.

A central generator has enough energy in reserve to continue operating beam weapons with standard settings. The GTVA Colossus once made the mistake of overloading her beam turrets against the SJ Sathanas. The reactor later malfunctioned and caused the ship to fire less intensively than before.

Four beam types are possible:

Directed fire beams, which targets a subsystem and shoots the beam in the center of the subsystem. Shivan and a few GTVA beams have this property.
Tactical beams, which targets a whole ship and randomly shoots at any of the parts of the target. This type of beam shot is moving (making it referred to as a 'slashing' beam), which means it often does not take its 100% damage on a target. Almost all GTVA beams are of this type.
Fixed-point fire beams, affixed to a ship's hull and capable of firing on ships within a circular arc of their line of sight. These are the heaviest weapons, called 'Mjolnir' beams, and are only found on Terran ships.
Anti-fighter beams, fires a beam at the center of the targeted ship and does not move. Multiple shots can be used in a row. All GTVA and Shivan capital ships are equipped with this beam weapon type.

Anti-capital ship beams can range in size from light weapons meant for surgically precise shots, up to the heavy 'Mjolnir' beams that can drill through an unshielded ship's hull in mere seconds. Capital ship shield effectiveness against these weapons has, to date, not been tested. Anti-fighter beams, however, are known to punch right through fighter shielding and cause significant damage to the hull. Firing range for these weapons is anywhere from 1.5 kilometers (for the anti-fighter beams) all the way out to 15 kilometers (for 'Mjolnir' beams)..

Standard Turrets

Standard turrets fire pulses of particle-burst energy (similar to turbolasers in Star Wars canon). They range from light to heavy, and serve as secondary weaponry for capital ships and heavy bombers. Their primary use is generally for shooting down incoming warheads launched by bombers, as their damage threshold is far less than the beam weaponry used by capital ships. The effective range of this weaponry ranges from 1,375 to 2,100 meters.

Flak Cannons

Flak guns were designed by the Galactic Terran-Vasudan Alliance sometime after the end of the Great War. Oddly enough, the Shivans seem to have put this technology into service at about the same time. Flak is more effective against fighters and bombers than warships, and also excels in knocking out bombs launched from bombers. However, flak guns are also effective against other smaller-sized ships such as transports, freighters, or even weaker cruisers. When a projectile of flak explodes, it has a small damage radius.

Flak projectiles usually do more damage on hull plating than on shields. Flak guns are also known to be nearly useless against subsystems. Effective range is anywhere from 1,050 to 3,150 meters.

Warhead Launchers

These weapons are just what the name implies - turrets capable of launching missiles and other warheads. Any missile armament that can be put into a fighter can be put into these, ranging from simple heat-seeking missiles to swarm-type weapons. some of the larger ships also carry the powerful Fusion Mortar, a devastating weapon (similar to Star Trek's quantum torpedoes). The range of this weapon is dependent on the type of warhead it is firing, from 1,050 meters out to 3,000 meters. What really sets this weapon apart, however, is its refire rate - capable of firing missiles every half of a second, as long as the ammunition lasts.

The GTVA Perses project was begun at roughly the same time that the GTVA Colossus was, on the classic government way of thinking - why have one when you can have two at twice the price? Slightly larger than her sister ship, the Perses was created for the same reasons: to kill Shivan ships with ruthless, deadly efficiency.

Her existence, even after the unveiling of the Colossus, was kept secret, simply for the fact that no one thought there would be a need to bring the juggernaut into service with the Colossus in service. But after the discovery of the Knossos portal into systems heretofore unexplored, a plan began to be formulated to put this massive ship into service with a small fleet of her own.

Quietly, modifications were made. The ship moved to a staging area, a secret location in which another ship had been reconstructed from plans laid down by other, more rebellious minds. Other ships - specially modified for the task at hand, newly constructed, were brought into the fleet, and as the plan and task force took shape, the best, the brightest and most capable personnel were recruited from varying places within the GTVA.

And when, at last, everything was ready, the task force, with this behemoth as its flag, was sent into the unknown.

The GTD Odysseus, a Hades-class destroyer, is the second-largest of the 157th fleet, roughly half the size and mass of the Perses. A fusion of Terran and Shivan military technologies, the original model after which the class of ship was named was constructed by Galactic Terran Intelligence (GTI), a rogue branch of the GTA that sought to overthrow the provisional GTA government established in Delta Serpentis, before the Beta Aquilae Convention and the GTVA was established. After the defeat of the GTI and the destruction of the Hades, the GTA began reconstructing the ship, hoping to get a clearer picture of what was being attempted.

The reconstruction effort had culminated in this ship, the Odysseus. When Captain Trentini was given command of it he found that it was nearly completed, almost ready for trial runs. Upon looking over the design specs, he had sighed, shaking his head at the poor, narrow-minded efforts at reconstruction, and immediately set about making his own...improvements.

One of the advantages of working for the High Command was the sheer amount of networking and contacts the captain had made, and now he put them to good use, securing for the construction project a number of upgrades to weapons, armor, and the various subsystems throughout the ship, extending the length of the project by a fair margin. When asked, all he would say to the inquisitors was that he 'had seen some flaws and oversights in the design, and they are being corrected.'

By the time the ship was completed, the captain chose the time and place of the first trial. Taking the Odysseus into the nebula from Gamma Draconis, he hunted down one of the Sathanas-class Juggernauts making its way through the nebula to the Capella system and engaged it.

It was an almost one-sided victory, as he was one of the masterminds behind the defeat of the first one that had made its way into GTVA space, and had spent extensive time researching the weaknesses of the huge ship. The Odysseus had suffered minor damage, and he and the High Command of GTVA pronounced the ship a spectacular success.

Despite being only half the size of the fleet flagship, the Oddyseus is, by most standards, a far more combat-capable capital ship. Faster, more maneuverable, with a better placement of its armaments, it is a startlingly efficient ship of war and acts as the primary assault ship of the fleet.

((OOC Note: Much of this has been taken directly from the aforementioned Freespace Wiki, though some of it has been edited for story purposes.))

Ship Names: GTD Lylantos, GTD Kynagidas

Class: Raynor-class destroyers

Length: 3207 meters

Maximum Speed: 60 m/s

Hull Construction: Hardened steel/nickel/manganese/tungsten alloy with integrated polarization matrix

Fighter Complement: 60

Armament:

2 'Mjolnir' fixed super-heavy plasma beam cannons

2 Directional heavy plasma beam cannons

2 'Slashing' heavy plasma beam cannons

4 Directional medium plasma beam cannons

7 Anti-fighter plasma beam cannons

7 Light laser turrets

8 Flak cannons

4 Fusion Mortar warhead launchers

4 Swarm-type warhead launchers

The brainchild of the most intelligent scientific and military minds in the Galactic Terran-Vasudan Alliance, the Raynor class of destroyers represents the new strategic imperatives formulated in response to the Shivan incursions into GTVA space: a flexible destroyer class with the firepower to eliminate Shivan targets, the speed to outrun them, and the power grid and computers required for rapid, precise subspace jumps. At nearly three kilometers long, the Raynor is one of the largest ships in the Alliance fleet. Several heavy beam cannons and long-range Fusion Mortar launchers are placed around her hull, and she is equipped with the most advanced electronics and armor technology the GTVA can afford. While it lacks its own fighterbase, the Raynor class is designed to work in conjunction with the Hapshepsut and the newer Titan class of destroyers as a synchronized unit to cover all aspects of the field of engagement.

Ship Names: GTD Heracles, GTD Amphiaraus

Class: Titan-class destroyer/carriers

Length: 2582 meters

Maximum Speed: 45 m/s

Hull Construction: Enhanced composite alloy armor with integrated polarization matrix

Fighter Complement: 180

Armament:

3 Directional heavy plasma beam cannons

2 ?Slashing? heavy plasma beam cannons

7 Anti-fighter plasma beam cannons

9 Light laser turrets

12 Flak cannons

2 Fusion Mortar warhead launchers

Designed as a compliment to the mighty Raynor-class Destroyers to replace the Hecate class, the Titan destroyer/carrier is a fearsome ship to behold. This class mounts three powerful forward beams and a large number of flak and AAAf installations. While large and somewhat vulnerable to a concentrated attack, the Titan's real strength shows when it deploys its fighter compliment. The ship is comprised of over 40% fighterbays, which can rapidly deploy numerous fighter and bomber wings simultaneously, and also make it capable of holding more fightercraft than any other Alliance vessel in service, with the exception of the Colossus class. Moderately armed and armored for its size, the Titan class is nonetheless as formidable a destroyer as it is a carrier.

http://i.imgur.com/OkOX7gd.jpg

Class: Hatshepsut-class destroyers

Ship Names: GVD Ahmose and GVD Amenhotep

In 2360, Allied Command commissioned the first of the GVD Hatshepsut-class destroyers. The Vasudan contractor Akheton designed the Hatshepsut to integrate the new plasma beam cannon efficiently within its power grid. The process of retrofitting the older Typhon-class warships yielded only marginal results, with vessels prone to system failures and reactor overloads. Though a handful of modified Typhons remain in service, the Hatshepsut has taken over its role as the primary Vasudan carrier and command ship. With 24 turrets, 5 beam cannons, and 2 fighterbays, destroyers such as GVD Psamtik of Deneb?s 13th Battle Group serve at the vanguard of the modern Vasudan fleet.

http://i.imgur.com/bcOeckA.jpg

Class: Deimos-class corvettes

Ship Names: GTCv Bellerophon, GTCv Amphion, GTCv Euryalus, and GTCv Castor

Deimos-class corvettes, such as the GTCv Actium and the GTCv Lysander, are the newest addition to the Terran fleet. These sleek, ultra-modern warships are the products of a new era of ship design, maximizing maneuverability and firepower. Their hulls are strengthened with collapsed-core molybdenum sheathing for better protection against beam fire, and their Vasudan-designed reactor core provides more energy per ton than any other allied ship class. As the Leviathan and Fenris cruisers of the Great War are gradually phased out, these corvettes will become the foundation of tomorrow's fleet.

http://scp.indiegames.us/scn/MediaVP/deimos.png

Class: Sobek-class corvettes

Ship Names: GVCv Nemlot, GVCv Petosiris, GVCv Ramose, and GVCv Manetho

Design of the corvette class GVCv Sobek began in the dark days after the destruction of Vasuda Prime by the Shivans in the Great War. The Vasudan navy wanted a vessel that could single-handedly counter powerful Shivan cruisers and provide critical support to Vasudan destroyers in battles against Shivan capital ships. The Sobek class fills those requirements admirably. Bristling with almost two dozen turrets, these corvettes are a terror to all vessels of cruiser size and below, while presenting a dire threat even to ships far larger than themselves.

Class: Aeolus-class cruisers

Ship Names: GTC Actaeon, GTC Alcaeus, GTC Chiron, GTC Patroclus, GTC Lycurgus, GTC Leonidas, GTC Neoptolemus, GTC Phoenix

The GTC Aeolus is the first cruiser class ever produced by the RNI shipyards orbiting Laramis II. Only two dozen of these cruisers were put into service in GTVA fleets, with production ending in 2365. When the 157th fleet was formed, however, Allied Command commissioned 8 more of the class with updated weaponry and enhanced armor and systems. Allied Command assigns Aeolus-class ships primarily to guard slow-moving convoys against fighter and bomber wings, as these cruisers are severely out-gunned by most capital ships in service today. Their flak and AAA turrets serve as marvelous deterrents to smaller craft, however.

http://www.freewebs.com/twisted-infinities-va/HTL-Aeolus/Aeolus1.jpg

Class: Mentu-class cruisers

Ship Names: GVC Inaros, GVC Khabash, GVC Maiherpri, GVC Minkhaf, GVC Pediese, GVC Ptahhotep, GVC Userhet, GVC Rahotep

The GVC Mentu cruiser is the lightest of the next generation of Vasudan warships. Following the Great War, allied scientists developed the beam cannons that now serve as the primary armaments of today?s GTVA warships. Rather than modify existing ships, the Vasudans developed new designs to mount these weapons. The Mentu improves on the old PVC Aten cruiser in size and firepower. Its 16 turrets include heavy beam cannons for duking it out with other warships, as well as AAA and flak turrets to fend off fighters and bombers.

Class: Charybdis-class AWACS vessels

Ship Names: GTA Parmenion, GTA Pausenias

Ships of the GTA Charybdis class have been packed with the latest tachyon-enabled AWACS equipment from GTI labs. Each GTVA battle group has a squadron of Charybdis-class ships assigned to it. These ships double the range of the group?s standard detection arrays. This is achieved by the rotating sensors located on top of the ship. Its secondary functions include jamming enemy communications and detecting enemy stealth ships. The latter function allows other friendly ships to target enemy stealth ships like normal enemy ships. Charybdis ships are found at the center of a battle group, as their thin armor, weak offensive capability, and poor maneuverability make them easy victims for enemy bombers. They have proven indispensable, however, in forays into the nebula beyond the Knossos portal.

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Gtacharybdis.jpg

Class: Setekh-class AWACS vessels

Ship Names: GVA Maiherpri, GVA Seti

The GVA Setekh is the Vasudan class of AWACS vessels, comparable to the Terran GTA Charybdis class. Setekhs are smaller, less heavily armored, and have half the turrets of Charybdis ships. Despite these shortcomings, the Vasudan navy insists upon deploying Setekhs in Vasudan battle groups, claiming the Vasudan versions are more appropriate for their fleets. Setekhs' crystalline detection arrays provide their fleets with doubled radar range, jamming of enemy communications and detection of enemy stealth ships.

Class: Hippocrates-class medical ships

Ship Names: GTM Democedes, GTM Moschion

Terrans developed the GTM Hippocrates early in the post-war Reconstruction. The urgent need for mobile medical units that could respond to humanitarian crises across multiple systems prompted the Alliance to commission a new class of hospital ship. Its on-board facilities provide state-of-the-art medical care to thousands of patients and help transport refugees out of contested systems into the safety of Allied-controlled regions. The unusual design of the Hippocrates enables its crew to isolate sections of the ship quickly in the event of quarantine or hull breach. The Hippocrates sports cruiser-grade armor and mounts a light beam cannon, an anti-fighter beam and three low-damage laser turrets, which makes it slightly more lethal than most other non-combat vessels. However, the size of the Hippocrates, coupled with the placement of its defenses, makes it just as vulnerable as any other non-combat ship, if not more so due to the former.

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Gtmhippocrates.jpg

Class: Zephyrus-class gas miner

Ship Names: GTG Lesches, GTG Ephorus, GTG Agathias, GTG Bryson, GTG Hagnon

When a fighter pilot sees a ship of the GTG Zephyrus class, one thought flashes through his or her mind: "Thank God I don't have to fly that tub!" The Zephyrus is a gas-mining ship, designed to harvest the deuterium-rich gases of interstellar nebulae and gas giant planets. It's the largest non-combatant ship in the GTVA fleet. The Zephyrus' thin armor, weak weaponry, and poor maneuverability give it a very low survival rate in combat, so these ships stay well back from the front lines. Despite these weaknesses, the Zephyrus plays a critical role in the operation of the GTVA fleet. The deuterium gathered by Zephyrus-class ships powers the fleet's fusion drives. Without this fuel, offensive operations would cease. For this reason, foes often seek out these gas-mining behemoths.

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Gtgzephyrus.jpg

Class: Anuket-class gas miners

Ship Names: GVG Meryra, GVG Parennefer, GVG Simut, GVG Userhet, GVG Hesire

The GVG Anuket was originally designed for resource extraction in the volatile environment of gas giants. More recently, the Anuket has been modified for nebular operations. The Anuket has the most sophisticated sensor array available, enabling it to navigate the intense EM maelstroms of supernova remnants. In the nebula, the Anuket plays two important roles. First, the miner collects samples for scientific analysis and serves as a laboratory for field experiments. Second, the Anuket gathers deuterium-rich gas for use in the fusion drives that power the allied fleet.

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Gvganuket-old.jpg

Class: Faustus-class science vessels

Ship Names: GTSC Meton, GTSC Ptolemy, GTSC Hypsicles

The GTSC Faustus is primarily a class of civilian research vessels. During times of peace, they serve as mobile laboratories for scientists in many disciplines. During wartime, however, Faustus vessels are commandeered by the military, mostly for weapons research. It was on a Faustus ship, during the Great War, that Shivan shield technology was first reverse-engineered from a captured Shivan fighter. Faustus vessels have poor armor and only a few weak turrets for defense. Only desperate circumstances find a Faustus anywhere near the front lines.

((OOC Note: The weapons below are canon Freespace 2. However, in order to approximate an accurate translation from game terms to freeform RP, the following damage ranges will be used:

Negligible: No damage of this type is per hit, or the damage amount is so small as to be unnoticeable.
Light: A small amount of damage is done per hit, enough to be noticeable but nothing to be overly concerned with.
Medium: More serious damage per hit. You will definitely know you've been tagged.
Heavy: Start being worried.
Extreme: You want to avoid being hit by this weapon. It only takes a few hits to turn you into an expanding cloud of gas and dust.
Deadly: Self-explanatory.

Please note that 'per hit' refers to being hit by a single pulse or missile. As some weapons fire in sets, damage will go up accordingly. For example: The GTF Erinyes fighter has 8 gun banks that can fire in tandem, thus making even a weapon that inflicts light damage capable of having extreme effects.))

Primary Weapons

Subach-Innes HL-7

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Subach.gif

Range: 900 m
Rate of Fire: 300 spm
Velocity: 450 m/s
Base Damage: Light
Armor Damage: Medium
Shield Damage: Light
Subsystem Damage: Negligible

The Subach-Innes HL-7 is a xaser weapon, firing an intense, highly focused beam of x-ray emissions. Until the Shivans appeared with their shield technology, these weapons were considered an unnecessary and costly extravagance. But Great War dogfights against Shivan craft quickly taught the Allies that their ships didn't stand a chance unless they could punch through shields. The HL-7 works superbly against shields of all varieties and has become the standard issue Primary weapon for all Terran fighters and bombers.

Mekhu HL-7

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Subach.gif

Range: 970 m
Rate of Fire: 400 spm
Velocity: 485 m/s
Base Damage: Light
Armor Damage: Medium
Shield Damage: Medium
Subsystem Damage: Negligible

The Mekhu HL-7 is the Vasudan re-engineered variant of the Subach HL-7 xaser. Modifications made to the design by engineers at Mekhu give it a higher firing rate and longer range than the original Terran version. These improvements come at the cost of a slight decrease in power output. This trade-off fits well with Vasudan military tactics, but most Terran pilots prefer the performance of the original weapon.

GTW-5 Prometheus Cannon

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Proms.gif

Range: 1500 m
Rate of Fire: 172 spm
Velocity: 750 m/s
Base Damage: Medium
Armor Damage: Heavy
Shield Damage: Medium
Subsystem Damage: Light

The original GTW-5 Prometheus S was removed from service when the link to Earth was lost and the GTVA was unable to obtain sufficient quantities of argon (a required element in the Prometheus's power-generation module). Recent deployment of Anuket and Zephyrus gas miners has enabled us to resume production of the GTW-5 Prometheus S. The S-type is a minor variant of the original Prometheus laser cannon. The S-type's faster recharge cycle and lower energy drain cause many pilots to prefer it over the R variant.

GTW UD-8 Kayser

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Kayser.gif

Range: 975 m
Rate of Fire: 240 spm
Velocity: 650 m/s
Base Damage: Heavy
Armor Damage: Heavy
Shield Damage: Extreme
Subsystem Damage: Medium

The GTW UD-8 Kayser is the result of an intensive study of Shivan weapon technology. The Kayser emits focused waves of subatomic particles that bombard its target. Impact causes the wave function of the particles to collapse and emit extremely intense, zero-point energy microbursts. Standard policy dictates that weapons of this magnitude be mounted only on bombers, but it has become common practice for field technicians to mount them on fighters.

GTW-19 Circe

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Circe.gif

Range: 1350 m
Rate of Fire: 150 spm
Velocity: 450 m/s
Base Damage: Light
Armor Damage: Negligible
Shield Damage: Deadly
Subsystem Damage: Negligible

Derived from advanced electromagnetic weaponry, such as the Banshee, the GTW-19 Circe disrupts shield systems by focusing a barrage of widely varying EM harmonics upon its target. This energy is completely ineffective against any kind of armor plating or insulated subsystem. For this reason, the Circe is most effective when paired with a hull-damaging partner, such as the Maxim or Prometheus.

GTW-66 Maxim Cannon

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Maxim.gif

Range: 3600 m
Rate of Fire: 420 spm
Velocity: 1800 m/s
Base Damage: Medium
Armor Damage: Extreme
Shield Damage: Light
Subsystem Damage: Extreme

Reconstruction efforts after the Great War inspired advancements in metallurgy and efficient conventional explosives. The two are elegantly combined in the GTW-66 Maxim. The Maxim is by definition an energy weapon, though it behaves like a high-velocity mass-driver cannon, accelerating uranium slugs along its smoothbore barrel. The Maxim has a difficult time penetrating energy-based shields, but it has a devastating effect on hull plating and subsystem armor.

Secondary Weapons

GTM-14 EM Pulse Advanced

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Empadv.gif

Type: Aspect Seeking
Minimum Lock Time: 2.0 s
Range: 1375 m
Reload time: 2.0 s
Velocity: 275 m/s
Base Damage: Special
Armor Damage: Negligible
Shield Damage: Negligible
Subsystem Damage: Special
Shockwave Radius: 300 m

The GTM-14 Electromagnetic Pulse Advanced warhead interferes with the electronics systems of vessels caught within its blast radius. This renders the affected ships unable to track targets, manage communications, or gain aspect missile lock. Tactically, the GTM-14 is a very effective anti-bomber weapon, as it also temporarily shuts down the guidance and propulsion systems of warheads in flight. This advanced version of the standard EM Pulse missile disrupts subsystems at a deeper circuitry level, resulting in a longer-lasting effect.

GTM MX-6 Tempest Missile

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Tempest.gif

Type: Dumbfire
Minimum Lock Time: N/A
Range: 650 m
Reload time: 0.3 s
Velocity: 360 m/s
Base Damage: Light
Armor Damage: Medium
Shield Damage: Light
Subsystem Damage: Light
Shockwave Radius: 20 m

The GTM MX-6 Tempest improves upon its predecessor, the Fury missile. Faster and more deadly than the GTM Fury, the Tempest is also smaller, enabling flight crews to load more into each Secondary weapon bay. The Tempest is a dumb fire missile, moving in a straight line from its point of release. The missile detonates when it strikes a solid object or when it reaches its effective range of approximately 600 meters. Tempests are best used at close range. With a velocity of 360 m/s, nothing outruns a Tempest.

GTM-4a Tornado

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Tornado.gif

Type: Aspect Seeking
Minimum Lock Time: 2.25 s
Range: 1610 m
Reload time: 2.5 s
Velocity: 230 m/s
Base Damage: Medium
Armor Damage: Extreme
Shield Damage: Medium
Subsystem Damage: Light
Shockwave Radius: 20 m

The GTM-4a Tornado is an upgrade to the Hornet missile. Like that earlier design, the Tornado launcher fires four warheads per salvo. With improved fire control systems and guidance computers, the Tornado can be fired more rapidly and with greater accuracy than the Hornet. Though physically smaller than its predecessor, the Tornado launcher packs a heavier warhead, delivering a more devastating punch.

GTM-19 Harpoon

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Harpoon.gif

Type: Aspect Seeking
Minimum Lock Time: 2.0 s
Range: 1250 m
Reload time: 2.0 s
Velocity: 240 m/s
Base Damage: Heavy
Armor Damage: Extreme
Shield Damage: Heavy
Subsystem Damage: Medium
Shockwave Radius: 40 m

The GTM-19 Harpoon is the most sophisticated weapon in the GTVA arsenal. Not only is it the fastest aspect-seeking missile used by the fleet, but advanced fuzzy-logic circuitry enables it to gain lock faster than any other missile in its class. The missile's warhead is wrapped in a shell of ultra-dense depleted uranium, ensuring maximum penetration into the hull of its target before the warhead detonates.

GTM-55 Trebuchet

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Trebuchet.gif

Type: Aspect Seeking
Minimum Lock Time: 3.5 s
Range: 5040 m
Reload time: 6.0 s
Velocity: 280 m/s
Base Damage: Extreme
Armor Damage: Heavy
Shield Damage: Light
Subsystem Damage: Deadly
Shockwave Radius: 40 m

The new GTM-55 Trebuchet was developed as a long-range, anti-bomber missile with an effective range of 4,000 meters. It also utilizes the latest in precision targeting technology for short lock times. The Trebuchet plays a vital role in defensive missions, enabling escort and patrol fighters to intercept incoming bombers without straying from the ship or emplacement under attack.

GTI TAG-B Missile

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Tagb.gif

Type: Aspect Seeking
Minimum Lock Time: 3.0 s
Range: 1625 m
Reload time: 8.0 s
Velocity: 325 m/s
Base Damage: Medium
Armor Damage: Medium
Shield Damage: Medium
Subsystem Damage: Light
Shockwave Radius: 30 m

The TAG-A (Targeting and Guidance) missile was conceived during the GTVI's top-secret stealth technology research projects. The missile was manufactured and swiftly pressed into service as a means of counteracting the sensor-disrupting effects of the recently discovered Knossos nebula. Upon impact with a hard surface, the TAG missile adheres and activates a small electronic beacon. This beacon is powered by a small fuel cell with a usable lifetime of thirty seconds. During this time, it broadcasts location and targeting information to all friendly ships within range. With a more shock-resistant substructure around its electronics package, the TAG-B is packed with ultra-sophisticated equipment to provide more useful targeting information to friendly forces. This targeting information allows any friendly ships nearby to target enemy fighters and ships with their plasma beam cannons with pinpoint accuracy.

GTM-10 Piranha

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Piranha.gif

A third-generation version of the old Synaptic and Havoc missiles, the GTM-10 Piranha provides bombers with a high-explosive anti-fighter screen. The Piranha is detonated remotely by pressing the Secondary weapon trigger a second time. This releases over a dozen small, heat-seeking missiles that attack any enemy vessel within range. This function makes the missile effective against incoming wings of fighters in close formation. The Piranha is now the standard issue defensive weapon for bombers attacking targets protected by close fighter cover.

GTM-43a Stiletto II

Base Damage: Light
Armor Damage: Negligible
Shield Damage: Negligible
Subsystem Damage: Deadly
Shockwave Radius: 40 m

The GTM-43a Stiletto II improves upon the original Stiletto's design with higher acceleration and maximum velocity, better guidance system, and greater range. The Stiletto II, like its predecessor, is designed to incapacitate the subsystems of capital ships, homing in on the EM signature of the currently targeted subsystem.

GTM-11 Infyrno

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Infyrno.gif

Type: Dumbfire
Minimum Lock Time: N/A
Range: 840 m
Reload time: 5.0 s
Velocity: 120 m/s
Base Damage: Extreme
Armor Damage: Deadly
Shield Damage: Medium
Subsystem Damage: Heavy
Shockwave Radius: 130 m

The GTM-11 Infyrno is an area-effect bomber suppression weapon, often employed to knock out incoming waves of slow-moving bombers. Upon detonation, the Infyrno releases multiple submunitions that contain ultra-high-explosive charges. The Infyrno is detonated remotely by pressing the Secondary weapon trigger a second time. A HUD indicator displays the distance from the warhead to the firing ship. If the pilot triggers the detonation too early, he risks being caught in the Infyrno's extensive blast radius.

GTM-12 Cyclops

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Cyclops.gif

Type: Anti-capital, Aspect Seeking
Minimum Lock Time: 5.0 s

Shockwave Radius: 200 m

The GTM-12 Cyclops has been in service for over 15 years in the GTVA arsenal. It is the standard ultra-high-delivery Secondary weapon loadout, utilizing the latest in aspect-seeking guidance technologies. The Cyclops has the distinction of being the most consistently upgraded weapon in the fleet. Although its development began shortly after the Great War ended, its excellent performance has kept it firmly entrenched in the role of main assault weapon. Its payload is approximately fifty percent greater than that of the older Tsunami warheads.

GTM-13 Helios

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Helios.gif

Type: Anti-capital, Aspect Seeking
Minimum Lock Time: 7.0 s
Range: 1950 m
Reload time: 30 s
Velocity: 65 m/s
Base Damage: Deadly
Armor Damage: Deadly
Shield Damage: Extreme
Subsystem Damage: Deadly
Shockwave Radius: 270 m

The GTM-13 Helios is the product of an entire generation of high-energy physics research, based primarily at the GTVA particle accelerator complex near Antares. The most powerful warhead in the fleet's arsenal, the Helios generates a massive shockwave from the cataclysmic annihilation of matter and anti-matter, triggered upon impact with its target. Each bank of Helios warheads can fire only once every 30 seconds. The Helios is prohibitively expensive to produce, thus its deployment is severely restricted.

GTF Hercules Mk. II

http://i.imgur.com/vUwItdB.png

Type: Heavy Assault
Manufacturer: RNI Systems
Maneuverability: Average
Max Velocity: 55.0 - 65.0 m/s
Max Afterburner Velocity: 120.0 m/s
Armor: Heavy
Shields: Strong
Length: 17 m
Gun Mounts: 2 (2 guns each)
Missile Banks: 2 (high capacity)

The GTF Hercules Mark II is the next generation of Terran heavy assault fighter. Introduced during the Great War, the original Herc's balance of firepower and maneuverability made it the most versatile strike fighter in the fleet. Some military historians have claimed the Hercules won the Great War, citing its deployment in key battles near the end of the Shivan conflict. Implementing recent advances in fusion drive technology, the Mark II improves the assault fighter's speed and maneuverability without sacrificing loadout capacity.

GTF Perseus

http://i.imgur.com/ZSkvSsC.png

Type: Interceptor
Manufacturer: Nankam Aeronautical
Maneuverability: High
Max Velocity: 80 - 100 m/s
Max Afterburner Velocity: 140 m/s
Armor: Average
Shields: Above Average
Length: 17 m
Gun Mounts: 2 (2 guns each)
Missile Banks: 2 (medium capacity)

The GTF Perseus is the next generation of intercept fighters used by the Galactic Terran-Vasudan Alliance during the NTF Rebellion. Its first known deployment was in Epsilon Pegasi where Perseus fighters deployed from the GTD Aquitaine played a pivotal role in the defense of Enif Station and the destruction of the NTD Repulse. While the Perseus is considered by the GTVA to be a high-performance interceptor, its blend of high speed, good maneuverability, moderate firepower, good weapons compatibility, medium armour and above average shielding allows it to be placed in other roles, such as escort, medium assault and surgical strikes against larger ships.

GTF Pegasus

http://lparchive.org/LetsPlay/Freespace2/Update%2016/img-1.jpg

Type: Stealth recon
Manufacturer: Nankam Aeronautical
Maneuverability: Excellent
Max Velocity: 90 - 110 m/s
Max Afterburner Velocity: 160 m/s
Armor: Light
Shields: Light
Length: 19 m
Gun Mounts: 1
Missile Banks: 2 (very low capacity)

The Pegasus is used almost exclusively for reconnaissance missions. It's the fastest, most maneuverable ship in the Terran arsenal. The craft's contours and hull materials were carefully designed to minimize its profile to detection sensors. It is woefully armored and packs only minimal weaponry, making it a death box in a firefight. Pegasus pilots are a special breed of daredevils who pride themselves on getting into and out of situations that would be the death of other pilots, all without firing a shot.

GTF Ares

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Gtfares.jpg

Type: Strategic Assault
Manufacturer: Nankam Aeronautical
Maneuverability: Poor
Max Velocity: 60 - 62 m/s
Max Afterburner Velocity: 120 m/s
Armor: Ultra Heavy
Shields: Extremely Strong
Length: 20 m
Gun Mounts: 2 (1st mount 2 guns, 2nd mount 4 guns)
Missile Banks: 2 (very high capacity)

The GTF Ares class of fighters is a radical upgrade of the Hercules II fighter. The power plant has been completely replaced with the newer, more powerful Nankam NA-27f model. Depleted uranium shielding has been added atop critical subsystems, making the Ares harder to incapacitate. Two primary weapon banks have been added, for greater firepower than the Herc II. This greater punch and protection come at a cost, however, as the Ares handles like a potato.

GTF Erinyes

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Gtferinyes.jpg

Type: Heavy Assault
Manufacturer: Triton Dynamics
Maneuverability: Average
Max Velocity: 65 - 70 m/s
Max Afterburner Velocity: 130 m/s

Shields: Above Average
Length: 17 m
Gun Mounts: 2 (4 guns each)
Missile Banks: 2 (medium capacity)

GTF Erinyes craft are fresh off the drawing boards of Triton Dynamics. Though fast and heavily armored, their main attraction is firepower. With eight primary banks and two secondary weapon bays, Erinyes are at the top of the combat craft food chain. Both sets of weapon banks have been designed to maximize compatibility with the greatest possible number of weapon system. Erinyes-class ships are being evenly distributed through the GTVA fleet, but only elite pilots are currently authorized to fly them.

SF Mara (Terran Modification)

Gun Mounts: 2 (2 guns each)
Missile Banks: 2 (very high capacity)

The SF Mara class of Shivan fighters was first encountered by the GTC Vigilant while patrolling the Gamma Draconis jump node in the Capella system. All other information concerning the Mara is classified level Psi.

Bombers

GTB Artemis D.H.

http://i.imgur.com/9m4DrGY.png

Type: Medium Bomber
Manufacturer: Han-Ronald Corp.
Maneuverability: Average
Max Velocity: 65 m/s
Max Afterburner Velocity: 110 m/s
Armor: Medium
Shields: Above Average
Length: 36 m
Gun Mounts: 1 (4 guns)
Missile Banks: 3 (high capacity)

The GTB Artemis D.H. is an experimental variant of the standard Artemis class. The most notable change is that the Artemis's factory-issued Han-Ronald engines have been replaced by the same Nankam NA-27f powerplant now found in the GTF Ares fightercraft. The D.H. variant is faster and more maneuverable than the standard Artemis bomber, at no cost to armor or armament. During the OpEval period, Artemis D.H. bombers are being deployed in only select squadrons in different theatres of the war. If the evaluation trials go well, wider deployment of the Artemis D.H. class is expected.

GTB Boanerges

http://i.imgur.com/qUn7fdq.png

Type: Heavy Bomber
Manufacturer: RNI Systems
Maneuverability: Very Poor
Max Velocity: 55 - 65 m/s
Max Afterburner Velocity: 85 m/s
Armor: Very Heavy
Shields: Very Strong
Length: 34 m
Gun Mounts: 1 (2 guns)
Missile Banks: 3 (ultra high capacity)

The new GTB Boanerges has been assigned to elite bomber squadrons in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Terran battle groups. The challenge of maintaining an aging fleet has motivated the GTVA to develop a new generation of ships able to withstand long-term abuse in the field. By maximizing shielding and payload (while offering enough maneuverability to make it a viable tactical unit), the Boanerges promises to remain in service for decades to come. One test pilot observed that the Boanerges handles better than any other bomber and has enough firepower to make it a formidable anti-capship weapon.
