In many works of literature and stories there are different interpretations of demons, where they come from, how powerful and intelligent they are. For Robert's story I have taken from previous literature and also added my own ideas. Here are the quick points on Robert's demon lore which I will update over time.

- It is loosely based off of the ShadowHunter book series (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Shadowhunter_Chronicles). In that series there are humans who are part angel , Nephilim, which kill demons. A major part of Robert's history was trying to track one down. I do not follow that book series strictly, but angel-demon-hunters are in his cannon.

- Not All Demons are Created Equal. In my demon mythos, demon/angels that existed prior to God making Earth are different than those after. The one prior are more transcendent. Reality and spirituality aren't as defined for them and they can interact with things on a deeper level. Old demons and angels are capable of affecting "reality" in a more substantial way, but are also less connected to it because it wasn't their experience. For reference in what's written, Mahis is one such demon.

- Robert is middle management, at best. Robert is not a super all-powerful and all-knowing demon. He doesn't want to be. Outsiders, though, may not realize that or understand the nuance. Robert is not considered "Upper Management" because those that are have the ability to *actually* change things, as opposed to perception. Robert only makes someone THINK something is different, he hasn't actually changed it. The closest he can come to changing anything is with possession (but the reanimated corpse does not regain integrity).

- Every Demon Feeds. It doesn't matter if they are upper or lower management. They feed on humans, and feeding on them is not necessarily harmful to their host. In some cases it will be. In Robert's case, it isn't. Demons will feed. It is essential that they do, but *what* they feed on varies from the succubus to one who feeds on sorrow, like Robert. Demons need both physical and spiritual sustenance. For demons the spiritual isn't a day-to-day requirement. It's more of a 1-3 times a week, depending on the need. Some could probably go longer.

- A Name is Everything. With demons, a signature is incredibly significant. For them it isn't just writing. It's an oath, a bond, a contract. Sign nothing without certainty! It may be odd words or a hand print. Usually, though, a signature on someone is the signature of who holds the contract with them. Those that have contracts with a demon carry a mark upon their body.

- Human or Inhuman? In my demon lore, demons can take many shapes, especially those that in later generations that are earth/carnal-bound. Some may appear far more human than their ancestors as a means to survive, preserve themselves, or it's simply an adaption with the times. Robert looks very human, but it's not uncommon for his brothers and sisters to have a more stately appearance.
