The final day for the VAMPIRES exhibit would be on the 24th, a Friday night which could be promising for an array of people to attend. The turnout, overall, had been better than he expected.

For the final evening the museum would be open from 11am-7pm, only to reopen at 8 pm for the Party to celebrate the end of the exhibit. The sign was out front and would hang from the railing of the porch saying "END OF VAMPIRES EXHIBIT PARTY 8-1am, ALL INVITED." To encourage donations, and for fun, there was a raffle for the first twenty guests. At the front door, to be guarded by Delphine's smile, was a small, wooden coffin with sheets of paper and a pen resting on its open lid.

Inside there would be the same three wine brands, served complimentary at the opening, for guests to enjoy. There was also the addition of some crackers and cheese, though perhaps the cheese might have been too sharp for the liking of all guests. Music, more upbeat and inviting that the normal classical drumm of piano and violin, went on in the background. Wearing black and red for the event was encouraged though far from mandatory.

There, guests were instructed to write a number from 1 to 20, along with their name, and drop it in the coffin. A number would be drawn and the winner would receive one of the bottles of bloodwyne and a pair of tickets that would grant them a personalized tour of the next exhibit, courtesy of Robert.

Despite his age and all he had read, there had still been things which were new to him. Robert had enjoyed learning about the different interpretations of the vampire, though several of them seemed to lean far more into the realm of demon or false-identity. Still, they had become entrenched beliefs in certain regions. It wasn't his job to argue, merely present.

(( OOC-- For your raffle "ticket" to count be sure that you post what number your character wrote down in this thread and submitted before 10 pm EST. Delphine has a clipboard with 1-20 written on it and will prevent your char from doing a double submission of the same number (though you as the player will see it in other posts).

You will get a museum ticket icon as the winner of the raffle! Feel free to post any images of what your character was wearing (polyvore your heart out), etc, in this thread. A special thanks Blood Sister and Knightfall, who gave me some really incredible and thoughtful contributes for Robert's exhibit))

Before the opening she made sure to get a glass or two in Robert to loosen him up a bit. It was only then that she tried the impossible. For shits and giggles she'd request him to put in some fangs to match with her own. Trying to get the host to join in being a little spirited with the whole theme. Just before she took to her post for the evening she'd sneak up on Robert, playfully biting his neck while being very sneaky in leaving two fake puncture marks along with some messy fake blood in her wake. This might be why he could be found with his back to the wall.

Guests were met with a disarming smile and mischief in her eyes. As people were ushered in she would make sure that they understood the reason for the paper and pen, as well as answer any little questions that popped up.

After the evening ended and the doors closed she would leave the coffin in Robert's care but also a heavy book that was gifted to him as a memento of the Vampire Exhibit. A first publishing of the 1897 Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Arriving midway through the evening, Roach paused just outside to partake of a cigarette and peep a Salome (if the woman hadn't arrived already), check her cell for any messages and, once she was done, stroll inside with an odd spring to her step; relishing an occasion that played to her darker sensibilities. Oxblood lips, heavily-shaded eyes, fat and flirty false lashes and a look that is pure .... Roach Lee.

There is a flutter of lace-gloveletted fingers to Delphine whom she shares air kisses with and accepts a pen and paper from to write down the number she chooses. Which is 6. Handing over both to the redhead after watching her paper flutter into the coffin, she proceeds inside, slinking around like a black cat and dressed like some sort of gothic-punk fairy (minus the wings) or contemporary vampire, and where she moves, a trailing, heady scent of patchouli and rose that conveys a red velvet feeling can be caught in the air about her, especially enticing for those within speaking distance. She shares brief, cool stares and smiles with those she does not know and barely more for those she does.

As she accepts a canape and a wine from an attendant, she takes the opportunity to do some crowd watching and check her cell again while chewing her lip with a false-fanged canine.

Then she is off again, sipping from the sparkling shiraz, walking with a sashay which emphasises her skinny legs in striped thigh-highs and buckled to red leather garters, which are glimpsed with every few steps.. she is most definitely playing to the theme, warming up as the night goes on. This visit, she takes more time to explore the exhibit and recalls some of what Robert had already told her while fondling one of the batwing gauges through an ear while standing before the glass.

Should her and Salome cross paths, they talk a little about recent events, any updates, remark on the incredible costumes sported by guests and hosts alike, the effort that went into the displays themselves, a little gossip before moving to mingle with others.

As things quieten and some guests begin to file out, she sidles up beside Robert with a wad of stolen canapes from her handbag for her, given how lean he was looking of late, and elbows him gently in the side. "Good job, Robert." Making a point there, using his actual name. "You've done well."

She admires his sharply dressed form and just visible bite mark of course. There is the bat of an eye in a overdone wink while one hand toys with the delicate red ribbon tied in a pussycat bow at her throat. Then, she drifts into the crowd, a finger touching to the shape of her mouth to wipe away any wine glass smudges to her crimson lipstick. She does not rebuff any offer of alcohol and gladly takes attendant's up on extras.

Eventually, she ends up at the bar set up for the occasion, enjoying a round of flirtatious, lively banter with the tender, while extolling the virtues of tequila, marijuana and getting laid often.

At any and all opportunities, she poses for the passing camera man in some exaggerated pose, usually hiking her skirt up tattooed thighs like a naughty secretary while baring her fanged teeth in a wicked smile.

Duci arrived earlier than she had anticipated to do so, just a few minutes before it was supposed to start. She lurked around the fringes of the property, studiously reapplying her lipstick in the lamplights. After a few minutes, she heads in, smiling broadly for Delphine. "Evening, you look lovely!" she comments truthfully, hastily scrawling the number three and then her name down on the slip of paper with the given pen. After folding the paper and dropping it into the slot, she lays the pen back down.

With a twinkle in her eye, she moves on to mingle, a glass of bloodwyne in one hand and occasional nibbles on cheese and crackers taken. A waggle of fingers for those she doesn't know, and air kisses and pleasantries for those she does as she happens upon them. The blonde doesn't hesitate to pause by the occasional bystander and share thoughts on the exhibit. If she happens upon Robert, she's sure to congratulate him on such a job well done for the exhibit. "Thank you for sharing," she imparts upon him with a dip of her head. After, she makes a donation to the museum by dropping a small satchel of coins in the donation box.

Several trips are made to the bar to ensure she has at least a glass of each again, but her evening ends with her first. The hour grows late and the crowd dwindles down... Duci surreptitiously slinks out as quietly as she arrived. Hopefully not drunk enough that she stumbles over her own heels.

The purple haired girl took a quick break from all the other things she had going on to support her friend Robert on the final night of the exhibit. She shared hellos with Delphine, debating for a moment whether to tell her about the things that had transpired since the occasion of their first meeting. But in the end she decided that this was a party and not the place.

She also said hello again to both Duci and Roach, partaking predominantly of the bloodwyne this time and bypassing the faerie stuff altogether as she mingled with the other guests.

Several minutes were spent in conversation with Robert about all manner of historic things when he was free.

Just before she left, she dropped a piece of paper with the number 15 written on it into the slot of the coffin.

Isaiah seemed bored. His hands were tucked into one another at the small of his back with his chin held high. Everything here boggled him into a need for torpor. Disgraceful, he had mentioned earlier only to have Butcher there to roll eyes behind those damnable sun glasses. Even indoors she wore them.

"Get over it, Isaiah. A long time has passed." Butcher spoke between the fractured line of white teeth and red, red, bloody red lipstick. His antics were polar opposite to the wide spring of a savage smile she performed when they browsed the history of fascinating stories. Parasol used as a cane, something for her to lean the hourglass shape she tweaked for herself and seemed perfectly able bodied against odd looks the pair was given.

"It's a disgrace." Isaiah proclaimed with a smirk that wanted so badly to be a sneer.

"You sound mad you're not on these walls." Butcher teased.

"And I wouldn't be. Same reason why you aren't." Isaiah grew bold and looked sidelong at his mistress who tilted a little heavily on the umbrella when glancing over her shoulder to the bigger bulk of interested parties.

"Are you trying to compare yourself to me, Isaiah?" Unseen, but surely those eyes were sharpening themselves into a narrowed stare.

Isaiah cleared his throat, raising a hand to help dissolve the topic. "No, never."

"Good." Single word that dug as talons might into his ears. He felt the pang of relief that they were in public but that never seemed to stop her before; Isaiah refrained from speaking again but followed closely behind Butcher.

"Go enter that raffle. Maybe I'll come back and teach these historians a thing or two."

Isaiah did as he was told, leaving Butcher to tilt her head at a peculiar item or another but she wasn't here to brush up on her dark fairy tales. She was here to sate curiosity that usually blossomed into a cruel obsession.

The museum just made it on her radar.

(Isaiah would have written 13.)

Kate always enjoyed the macabre. Blame it on her mother, whose sense of humor had always run the same, right up until the day she died. Skulls and the color black were staples in her wardrobe, naturally drawn to the darker side of life.

Hearing there was a vampire exhibition stirred her curiosity, something she was unable to resist once the lure was set. And she had to dress in red and black? Gee, really twist her arm.

She wandered the exhibition slowly, taking it all in, stopping to read the informational plaques and sneak pictures on her phone of things she wanted to remember, sights that caught her fancy. Posed for some selfies with Roachie, once that bug was found scurrying around, and Robert got a smack on the butt for his work. "That was a high five for a job well done," she told him, batting her lashes before disappearing to stuff a few pieces of paper into the raffle coffin.

At least three slips of paper, bearing the number 11.

Shy is the recipient of a wonderful surprise from an unknown gifter when a box is left in her 'cubby' at the Red Dragon Inn. Inside the box (amongst other things) are two complimentary tickets to the vampire exhibit at the Otherworld Museum running through Friday, June 24th.

She and Victor had discussed attending the exhibit when it first opened, but had not yet gotten around to it. What a fortunate turn of events. Not only do they go and marvel at everything on display, they find out there is to be an 'end of the exhibit' party as well as a raffle!

Since Shy is not one to pass up an opportunity to win a free prize, she writes down the number 7 on a piece of paper, then places it inside the small wooden coffin. Hopefully, Victor does not mind her taking a quick peek at his number ... 16 ... before the paper is dropped into the raffle casket.

Layla didn?t understand why her handler, Stephen, gave her the mission of attending the final night?s party for the Vampire Exhibit. Not only was it outside their norm to attend anything that might risk breaking the masquerade, she just wasn?t the type of girl to attend a party for anything or anyone. Of course when it came to her job, she was the type of girl to do anything asked of her.

The mission wasn?t just to go; it was to enter the raffle. Someone higher up in the chain of command apparently wanted to win those tickets. Considering the money that she was given to make a donation would have easily covered two dozen tickets, she thought the idea of trying to win just two was absurd, but she never questioned her assignments.

Picking out her ensemble based on the optional red and black theme, she decided to focus on the red in the hopes of deterring any suspicions of her nature. Her long black hair would provide more than enough for the color recommendation anyway. Going with a sleeveless, knee length, solid bright red dress, she allowed hints of black to stand out in her accessories. She also brought a medium sized quilted pattern black leather hand bag that was just large enough to keep some of her more vital gear, just in case.

It wasn?t until the last minute that Stephen informed her that she had to take someone with her. Although she took it as a slight against her, assuming they thought she couldn?t handle a simple party on her own, he informed her that it was only to increase her chances of a win. She begrudgingly selected Kaiden on her team to accompany her.

When they got to the front door, Layla wrote the number eighteen next to her name on her slip of paper before dropping it into the small coffin.

As they meandered throughout the exhibit, she feigned disinterest, but anyone studying her would find her lingering from display to display, intently reading and learning about the different myths and legends behind vampires. Before they left, Layla was sure to anonymously slip the donation money in the donation box. She could see why her bosses would want to contribute to the museum, though she would complain about having to attend if anyone back at her office would ask her how it went.

Kaiden saw that the number 1 wasn't taken and thought 'Yes I am', and wrote his name along with the number one for the raffle.

He was trying to keep a low profile, not having felt exactly like himself since the thing down at the Docks. Plus, he was trying to figure out how to tell Layla he didn't like the way she was doing her eyes now. He remembered the look she shot him leaving her office, as she held the door open, beckoning him.

"Let's go," she'd said, in that annoying, endearing way that sounded as though she just expected to be obeyed.

"Not until you fix that mess," he'd replied, raising an obviously critiquing eyebrow at her eye makeup. She'd just looked at him cold, and momentarily questioning before leaving him to follow.

Less is more. C'mon. Had he been too subtle?

Jo had been reluctant to go, the wounds of Cris' death and the horrible night with the demon dogs were not yet healed. A plaster of sorts had been placed and the antibiotic of Robert's heartfelt apology were doing a job of turning wound into scar tissue, but he wasn't quite there yet. If it hadn't been for Graham, Jo probably wouldn't have made the attempt to show up at all.

But with Graham in tow, the couple did show up to the event, wearing suits and ties. Jo thought he saw Robert and greeted him with a nod and a salute. The man was busy and Jo wasn't about to take up his time. Besides, Graham was the rock in which he anchored on and his attention was on him. "Ok, we greeted the curator, now let's enter the raffle, see the sights and go home."

Into the casket box he dropped a single piece of paper with the number 20 written upon it. Drinks were procured and they spent the next hour or so perusing the museum. When it was time to go, Jo gave a wave to Robert and took Graham by the hand. He smiled to his lover and they disappeared in a cloud of smoke left by the new Volvo.

He had been available that night for discussion.

"Thank you," he said to Roach's compliment on the exhibit, his attention flickering from the ribbon at her throat to over company. There was enough of a crowd that things kept churning and it wasn't long until she was draw into the preoccupation of being photographed. He did not linger with her long.

When he stepped aside he paused in conversation with Saila. There was talk of what was a theoretical verse real vampire to more amoral subjects. She was young, but it felt at times that he discussed these issues with a being that was much older, and much more amoral, in the vessel of her form.

Ducii thanked him for sharing, he thanked her for coming. He didn't realize he had fallen onto Butcher's radar, or earned the nose wrinkle of Isaiah. They would see his other exhibits, no doubt, and come to terms with what was presented. A museum proposed ideas and myth as well as facts.

"Excuse m--" he stopped, realizing that the butt-swipe was entirely intended and also that it came from Kate. Bathroom Kate. He lifted his wine glass to her and gaze a measured swallow, "Thank you for coming."

Shy and Victor were unknown to him, but he still smiled at them, offering refills to or take any dishes that needed to be discarded. He could be quite mannerly when he was working. It was a welcomed social escape to help with the dishes. This part of being a curator was not his strong suit. He was not all that charismatic for it.

Layla and Kaiden were greeted as well, at some point. She looked aloof but that didn't prevent him from giving her a smile. It was the easiest way to earn Robert's smile-- by attending his events and donating as she had.

Then there was the still awkward, still wounded greeting of Jo and Graham. Where Graham looked like he wasn't sure if he wanted to make eye contact, but that Jo was still smiling. He gave them a short, appreciative conversation before retreating to the coffin beside Delphine.

"It's almost midnight, I think it's time to draw." He looked mroe rakish with the false vampire bite bleeding down the side of his throat that she had given him. Too often did Robert seem quiet, benign, just a breath before notice. Delphine was never shy about smiling at him broadly, shaking up the bits of paper in the miniature coffin before he drew a number.

"Tonight's raffle winner is... 18." That would be Layla.

(number selected via another player using a random number generator-- congrats Layla!)

Although she continued to glance around seemingly uninterested, Layla waited with bated breath as the Curator was drawing the winner.

She reminded herself that her handler had told her that the bosses knew it was just a matter of luck and that she shouldn?t stress if she didn?t get the prize. She knew that it was up to chance too, but she hated having an unproductive mission. She was quickly coming up with some excuse to tell them as to why she and Kaiden didn?t win as her number was called.

Taking a silent sigh of relief, she quickly looked down to hide her thankful smile.

Looking back up with a stoic expression, she went up after the drawing to receive the prizes. Even though she refused to show it as she accepted the gifts, her smiling eyes revealed her gratitude.

Luck must have been in her favor tonight.
