Everything was set for me to leave RhyDin; my life read like a To-Do list:

Bags packed? --Check.
Broke up with girlfriend by making her think I am dead? --Check.
Best friend notified that I?m not actually dead? --Check.
Buy orange juice? --Check

Best friend -- that would be Corlanthis. I have no idea why he still fills that role and holds that title after all of the crap I have put him through. I had to disguise myself as a man to even get close enough to tell him I wasn?t dead; really, he should have known I wasn?t.

What does that feel like -- always waiting to hear that news that you know will come someday?

We talked and I told him I felt myself starting to spiral once again, I knew that road far too well. I told him that I had to make Andrea think I was dead in order to protect her -- in order to start over and try to salvage what shred of my sanity remains. He seemed pretty understanding of why I did that, probably because the last time I felt this way a lot of people ended up dead and he had to help rescue me. Guess he doesn't want a repeat of that experience. Can't say that I blame him, really -- I'm in no hurry for that to happen again either; he still doesn't let me live down the last time.

So, we said our goodbyes and I gave him the backpack full of gems like I always do -- it?s sort of like a life insurance policy and he is the beneficiary. Then I headed over to Jack?s place to hand over my phone, get my new identity for the job, and my lecture on how this time had to be different than last.

Yeah Jack, this time needs to be different -- I don?t feel like hanging from the ceiling for three days again, thanks.

Except, I didn?t quite make it to Jack?s place. I sent out a text that told him I wasn?t going just yet, disabled my GPS, turned off my phone and....

I ended up in the forest north of RhyDin.

We?ll see what tomorrow brings but tonight I'm just going to hang out in this tree and try to find myself because that is what elves do -- we hang out in trees. Right?
