Pulling the door open as he steps inside, no coat tonight -- just a pair of jeans and dark t-shirt. Hair flopped into his face as his dark brown eyes scanned the room, lips pulled tight.

Cool jades had been glancing about the common area in a bored fashion as she sipped from the fruity drink, appropriately named Passion as it did tempt one into tasting more and more. So, it was during this people watching that she noticed him come through the door. Oh look at the little smile that suddenly lit upon the elf's delicately angular features. Willowy frame was turned fully around and a casual lean was taken with exposed shoulder blades pressed to the bar and those dancer's legs stretched out before her. She turned that smile to the Master Drink Mixer and shook her head lightly when he offered to refill her drink. "I believe I have enough Passion for now, thank you." And her gaze was pulled back to watching the mysterious man with the soulful brown eyes and the accent that she mimicked every time she was in the slightest bit of trouble with him.

There was a slight tilt of his head, causing hair to fall over one side of his face, masking half of the grin which appeared on those lips. Eyes went from toe to head over the long, graceful frame of that elf at the bar, and they settled there. His strides came a little more purposeful, even if he tried to pretend he wasn't on a direct beeline and attempted to look casual and hopefully, a little sexy. Approaching that elf who he hadn't taken his eyes from, he added a low timbre to his voice. "So beautiful, ye come here often?"

She had to force her hand not to lift and smooth his hair from over his eye, as she did countless times per day. Instead forcing down the laughter at their silliness as she attempted to turn a cool calculating eye upon him, her gaze traveling over him slowly as if she didn't already know every inch of him probably better than she knew herself. Her gaze rested upon his lips and that grin that never ceased to cause her heart to flutter. "Often enough. That line really work?" Sooty lashes were batted flirtatiously.

"I don't know... ye tell me if it's working." He stepped dangerously close to her, leaning and tilting his head so they were mere inches from her ear as he whispered; remaining close as his lips almost slid over angled cheekbone and across bee-stung lips as he fixed her with a piercing gaze, even with one eye barely visible behind the veil of hair. Fingertips dared to dance over the fabric of her clothing, barely pressing it against the skin it covered. He was trying to not become too intoxicated just by being in her presence and so close, her sweet scent filling his nostrils.

Her head was turned so she could respond in like fashion, a whisper next to his ear, and in turning an ever so slight brush of her lips caressed his cheek. "Well.." she replied in a low voice, smooth as honey, "..that depends upon what you are trying to accomplish." Leaning her head back a little so she could gaze up at him, a little smile tugged at the corners of her lips. The hand closest to him traced back and forth along his arm. As always, they were drawn together like metal to a magnet, some part of each of them had to be touching regardless of how innocent or intense that touch may be.

This was a mixture of both innocence and intensity, as evidenced by the burning look in those big brown eyes of his. Lips parting to allow a gasp to escape between them as he felt the sensation of the near-kiss on his cheek, goosebumps were raised on his arm from her sweeping touch. Her sweet sounding words flowed easily into his ears, and he pressed further so now it was his touch against her body, and not just the fabric. Of course they were drawn together harder than any force of nature. (w) "I'm trying to pick up the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on and get her to come home with me. Am I having any luck?" His turn to lean closer now, lips closing and opening against her ear as he spoke; his body just centimeters from pressing against hers.

He had to know he was almost crossing that imaginary line she had always enforced regarding appropriate behavior in public. Almost. The fact that he towed it so closely was deeply amusing and he received a wicked little smile for his effort and exhibition of self control. That smile mostly disguised the sudden inhalation of breath as she worked to maintain the same poise and posture despite his attempt to derail her. Funny, this...the often time embodiment of chaos trying to play by some set of rules when her very nature urged her to always fight against rules of any kind. She was almost relieved at the distraction of people bidding them a good night. She smiled sweetly at Maranya and waved. "Well met and be safe." Attention returned to the one that played such a dangerous little game with a barely controlled sometimes crazy elf. His elf. She allowed semi-possession though why one would care to possess something so broken and unpredictable was beyond any sane man or woman's comprehension. "You may need to continue your game a little longer as sometimes women aren't so easy to persuade. Fickle creatures we can be, yeah?" And so she played his game, though she did give in to the urge to brush back his hair as she did so often. It was a fun change of pace, really. Considering they practically lived together, this exchange between them really was amusing in a tease-me-until-I-scream kind of way.

"Mmm." His eyes closed as he felt the brush of fingers slide through his hair, a momentary look of bliss and contentedness showing on his face before his eyes reopened and he resumed the mantle of the character he was portraying tonight. Lips tightened in a smile as he leaned back just before he came into contact with her, though he still touched her waist with his hand. "Is that the case? So should I ask ye if I can buy ye a drink, or should I try another terrible line?"

The glass she had been cradling was lifted lazily and she smiled over the rim before she took a sip. "I have a drink already. Unless you can give me something more tantalizing than Passion." A little cant of her head caused the side swept ponytail of hip length waves to fall over the front of her bare shoulder as she watched him. That thick veil of lashes blinked in faux innocence over wide almond shaped eyes. She was, of course, calling the drink by its name...Passion. Not that he would know this. A lightly amused smiled touched upon voluptuous glossed lips. She may have shifted ever so slightly upon her bar stool so that the hand upon her waist shifted to her hip.

"I can give ye a lot more passion. More than ye can handle, I think." He took a step back and brazenly swept his gaze up and down her willowy frame, hiding the amusement in his features as he was able to use any excuse to check her out. The hand was easily moved as he did not resist and did not step far enough back to relinquish his touch. "But as far as tantalizing... I was recently given this kilt and I'm still having troubles figuring out how to wear it... but maybe I can try to show it off for ye?"

She had lifted her glass for another sip of the fruity drink, tasting of passion fruit juice as the name of the drink suggested. She nearly choked as she swallowed the sweet mixture upon hearing what sounded very much like a challenge to her ears. Now, he might not be challenging her...but this was Raye and he was Jono...there was quite frequently a challenge between them, was there not? "More than I can handle, ye say. Maybe I am more than ye can handle." A sweet mimic of his accent was offered, usually reserved just for times of being in "trouble" with him. The heat from that gaze should have seared her where she sat and she blinked rapidly several times before composing herself once again and refitting her lips with that near smirk of a smile. "I may be able to help ye with the wrapping of the kilt, though I seem to recall accidentally wrapping myself up within the material with my man once upon a time." Oh but he didn't ask for her help in wrapping it, did he? Oops...

"I think I'd be able to..." His eyes pointedly went to certain areas of her body, and he didn't attempt to hide it, before moving back to her eyes. The look shared between them both playful and challenging, and he reveled in both. "... handle ye very well. In fact, I think I'd handle ye better than ye could ever possible imagine." Then his brows lifted, head tilting in the opposite direction as before with hair spilling that way. "Is that so? I think that way is preferable to my own... but only if ye wear as much as I do for wearing kilts." He wouldn't specify what that was unless she asked, but he imagined she already knew... since she was the one to tell him and get him like that!

It was a wicked snicker indeed that was elicited by that comment. She remembered vividly when she brought the tartans home for him to pick and had tricked him into wearing what he wore for the kilt wrapping. "I'm sure you wore the proper clothing beneath...long linen shirt that fell to your knees.." She couldn't contain her laughter now as the scene played out in her mind. "Darling, I realize now that I might have told you the wrong way to wrap it. Possibly because I wanted to be wrapped up with you." She really did try to look as if she was sorry, even though she wasn't at all. "I will agree to these terms and wrap your kilt for you if you agree to be my personal slave for an entire twenty-four hours at a later time of my choosing."

"I wore two shirts, actually. And pants. I don't think I wore it right at all. Ye have to demonstrate or help me again, please. Especially since ye now admit it might have been done wrong, but at least it was wrong for the right reasons." Then his eyes narrowed at the offer. "Forty-eight hours." Maybe he wasn't so good with this haggling thing.

This reminded her of the last time they had wagered with one another. He had bet against himself then as well. There was a pattern to his "losses" and it always involved being closer to her. She approved, of course. "Deal." Spitting in her hand (ptou!), she offered it to him for a shake. "Two shirts and pants, you say? Uh-huh. Thats not exactly how I remember that happening. Were we in the same room at the same kilt wrapping?" A sly little snicker. She was still impressed with her ability to trick him. She should be ashamed...but she wasn't. She had paid for her crimes after all, hadn't she?!

Lifting his hand to spit in it, he then shook hers. If she saw the pattern then it was easy to see he never considered himself a loser in these wagers, in fact felt he was getting the better part of the bargain! After all, anything that brought him closer to her was a win for him, though he made sure it would be the same for her. There were no real losers between them, and both were able to bask in rewards no matter the outcome of their wagers. "Pants and two pairs of boxer shorts. But maybe I'm misremembering. Can we reenact it with the details as ye remember so I can keep it straight?" Hopeful raise of eyebrows.

Hard bargaining was about to ensue. "Well. If I agree to that then you must agree to not take any jobs for an entire week and spend that time with me. We will hole ourselves up in the house and read to one another. Or you can let me braid your hair. Or we can hire a masseuse. Ohhhh...I know! We can spar both hand to hand and with swords. We can go to Jack's shooting range. Then come home and take bubblebaths. And you will cook dinner for me three nights this week." She had fallen into that rapid elf-speak pattern that she did when she was suddenly very excited or her brain was working faster than her lips. It was a lightly musical little chattering. "If you agree to these terms then I will reenact the kilt wrapping with the details as I remember them since your memory is so obviously faulty." She spit in her hand again (ptou!) and held it out for the second time in two minutes to seal the bargain.

Whatever her definition of hard bargaining was, it wouldn't be the same as his. This was all agreeable and easy bargaining, and he was coming out ahead! He wondered if he should feel bad taking advantage of the obviously excited elf... nah! Repeating the same process and shaking her hand, the grin on his face threatening to split it in two. "I agree to yer terms in full!" Then he gave a hearty nod, his hair flopping into his face.

She shook his hand, not letting go right away as she leveled a serious gaze upon him. "Seriously. No jobs, Jono. We are going to be normal people for one entire week. You promise me...even if Ellis contacts you...no jobs." The odds of them ever being normal people were not in their favor. She was clinically insane after all. Masochistic. Violent. Things that people didn't really see most of the time. But one week of pretending to have this "wedded" bliss couldn't kill them, right? At least no one else was going to die this week, maybe. She reached forward in that familiar motion and let the fingers of her free hand, after she put down her glass, brush his hair back from his face again. "We are going to survive this week if it kills us." Doesn't matter if that statement made no sense to anyone else...she understood it.

Voice softened just as his face did when her hand brushed his hair away. He sighed, not out of reluctance, but out of bliss. The easy smile on his lips showing that he would have no difficulties in going through with this plan. A week with nothing but his wonderful elf? The woman he was so in love with it made him see hearts in his eyes and feel butterflies in his stomach... he was more than happy to go with this. "I promise ye, Raye. It's just going to be the two of us getting lost in each other."

She stared at him for a moment and then nodded slightly, lower lip drawn beneath her upper teeth and nibbled at before she released it. "Ok. But if you break this promise to me, I am going to administer an ass kickin you aren't likely to forget." Just so he knew how important this was to her. "I..I just want to try out being normal for a little while. See what the fuss is about with this whole living together thing that people do. If it works then I am moving out of Cor's house..." And here the strangest thing was about to happen...chaos was about to be shy and uncertain. "If you still want...umm...do you still want us to...move in together?" She glanced down, feeling awkward to say the least. She had put him off for a couple of months since he asked that they move in together.

The uncertainty was not expected, and now he realized the gravity of the request. It was important before, but this added much more weight to it. His hand slid around her back as he pulled her into a tight hug, hoping to dissipate any feelings of uncertainty she felt. (s) "Raye, of course I do. I want us to live together no matter where it is. I want to spend the rest of my life with ye." So maybe the last part wasn't needed and was said without pause, but it was the first time he had ever really admitted it aloud. He didn't think about if it would frighten her or not... it was what he wanted and how he felt. He couldn't live without her, and never wanted to be apart. "God, I love ye so much... I want ye around no matter where it is."

It seems that their little "pick up the elf at the bar" game was over and since she was no longer required to play hard to get, she fell into that hug, arms slipping around his waist as the top of her head was pressed to the hollow of his throat. (w) "Its a terrifying thing for me...but I love you more than I am afraid of this step we are taking. Does that make sense? You mean the world to me and I don't want to waste a single second we have together being afraid to be with you or being afraid to show you how I love you."

Her head was lifted and she gave a shy approximation of her usual smile. Her voiced dropped even lower, almost inperceptable. "I want to spend the rest of your life with you as well." An odd thing to say, "spend your life," except he knew Raye's extended life span. "I wish we had the rest of mine together." And so she just admitted it. What she had thought would scare him away, admitting she wanted to spend their lives together. It sort of put a more serious spin on things between them. She had been sure it would scare him senseless. She had been sure it would scare her the same. They were the least likely two people to say such things, they were so unsettled. But here they were...

"I wish we had that as well." His voice a mixture of wistfulness, sadness, and want. One hundred years wouldn't be enough with her, he wanted more. He wasn't scared of the admission, the love he felt for her overcoming any fears he may have had. His arms squeezed her harder and closer to him, turning his head so he could kiss the crown of hers. "I don't either, Raye. I want to spend every second with ye, else it seems it would be a waste. I don't care where or how, I just know it's the thing I want most in the world. Yer the thing I want most."

A little nod of her head was given and she smiled as he kissed her head. "Do we want to stay in your house or do you want to move?" Her own arms tightened around his waist as she tried to drag her thoughts away from the gravity of sharing her life with a human. She wasn't in the slightest bit prejudiced against them, it was the shorter life span..his shorter life span, that had her contemplating. But she knew the fifty or sixty more years they had together would be worth the hundreds of years she would spend in mourning and without him. And it was this thought that made the elf drop the next bomb on her poor unsuspecting Jono. The hater of children (ok hate is a strong word)...the elf terrified of all people small and slimy...had made a decision. "Someday we are going to have children. I'm just letting you know this in advance so you can prepare for these atrocious little beasts to be born and terrorize us." Poor Jono, probably didn't have a clue what train of thought had derailed for Raye to arrive at that decision. He could always ask! She, of course, meant they would have children in twenty years or something...this wasn't an immediate punishment she intended to exact upon the two of them. Apparently she was giving him no choice in the matter. Whatever happened to asking the would be baby daddy if he even wanted to have children? Well...this is Raye...Harbringer of Chaos...

It hadn't been that long ago when confronted with that choice, he had decided upon his stance with children. He lovingly stroked her hair, body shaking a bit as he chuckled. He was on board with this, even if she didn't give him a choice in the matter. At least hopefully they would have a choice as to when it would happen, so he could settle any outstanding affairs and not leave it to chance he'd be taken away from his children. "I don't care where we live, Raye, so long as it's with ye. I think we're both wealthy enough we can afford multiple places anyway. And... I'd like to have children with ye. But at least warn me when this is planned so I can make sure I won't have any other jobs."

Well, when he had been confronted with that choice...she had been under a spell and was most definitely not herself (and most definitely not pregnant!)! He knew her well enough to know she really disliked kids. Her motive in having them was to continue to have a part of him after he was gone. Selfish or understandable for an elf that knows she will outlive the man she loves by many hundreds of years? She knows she won't remarry once he is gone and she will be alone, except for the children they are going to have...someday. She would be completely fine with pushing the actual having of the children back until the last possible moment. "Well what is the oldest that you can contribute to their creation? I can wait until then." This was actually quite comical if not for the seriousness of the reasoning behind it. As for where they would live..."Of course we could maintain multiple residences but I think it would be weird if you have your house and we have our house. I don't like that idea. Unless I just buy my own house as well and I can just decide to move there anytime I wanted to." She leveled him with a cool stare. Maybe that isn't what he meant but she was a little off, so its how she interpreted it. And then she latched on to something he said and tilted her head a little. "You...want to have children with me? Why?" She wasn't being sarcastic at all..she was simply surprised by that admission and curious.

"All right, I'll sell mine and we'll find something for the both of us. How's that?" He didn't mean it that way, but can see where she came from with it, so that seemed fairest to them both. Then he chuckled as he gave thought to his age. "I don't know how old I can be, but I suppose I have to be still somewhat young that way I can help raise them and spend time with them before I pass away." Then the next question, another chuckle released and he shrugged. "Because I want to leave a part of myself behind, I suppose. It's a little selfish, but I do. And also for ye, so ye'll have someone sort of like myself to remember me by." It seemed they thought in somewhat the same way. Of course having children is sort of like living forever, or carrying on a bloodline, but it's also a way to almost extend his life for her, by creating another life to outlive him and live longer than he ever could.

She shrugged bared shoulders lightly. "I can live there for a while. So long as I get to remodel a little." Did he remember what she did to Cor's townhouse during what was just supposed to be a temporary stay? That wasn't so bad and even Cor managed to survive it! A little furrow of delicate brows as he spoke of being somewhat young when they had children. That didn't give her all that much time to reconcile herself to the idea. "I have no intention on letting you become a lazy old man once these little things start arriving. It doesn't mean we have to stop living. Many tribes of elves are nomadic and their children are raised in this way. I see no reason that we need to settle down and become boring people that do nothing but become crazy from these little drooling monsters sucking the life from us." Was she joking? Again, she would need time. Yep. Though the thought of his babies...nope...still not warm and fuzzy over the idea. He would probably need to subject her to children frequently so she became desensitized to them. At least until she stopped calling them heathens, monsters, and beasts. As he stated his reasons for wanting these future babies, she smiled a little and kissed his cheek. "Thank you for thinking of me and trying to take care of me even after your are gone." The fact that they were discussing his eventual death was both morbid and a sign of how comfortable they were together. They could discuss anything. He would be sound asleep when she allowed the tears to flow so he wouldn't know how the thought of losing him devastated her. In his mind it would be such a long time...fifty or sixty years was a long time for a human. It wasn't much time for an elf. She put on a brave smile and hugged him closer. "Our life is going to be beautiful. No matter what." Because...there was beauty even in chaos. "I will never need anything to make me remember you, Jono. You will always be a part of me, even death cannot take you from me entirely."

"Don't worry, it still won't be for quite a while. Just before I end up needing a cane or wheelchair and my hair goes all white." He grinned, lips tracing over hers for a kiss. "And I have no intention of ever being boring with ye or settling or to stop living." Discussing death was something that had to be done -- he learned this long ago. Morbid, perhaps, but necessary in his line of work. He always had to be prepared, and he had no qualms that he would die someday. He just hoped it would be on his terms after he had lived a good, fulfilling life which he left more good in the world than he took out of it. And that he left everything he had to give to Raye and more. He bit down on his bottom lip as she spoke her last sentence, almost feeling tears in his eyes. What an odd thing, as he never cries and barely shows any emotions... except when it comes to her, his beautiful elf that he loves above all other things, that he loves unconditionally even if chaos seemed to follow her like a bad penny. Nothing would ever diminish the love in his heart for her, and to hear her admit that she would always remember him, when it seemed like he would be but a faded dream unable to be recalled in the morning when she had lived much, much longer than he... it was the most beautiful and moving thing he had ever been told. "Our life will be beautiful... it already has been, and it just keeps getting more and more so the more I fall in love with ye. So much more every single moment."

A person couldn't forget their own heart, could they? It's beat speeds up in excitement or fear. It makes its presence known. And this was what it would be like with her memory of Jono. She couldn't forget her own heart.
She lightened the moment and chuckled as she slid her arms from around his waist, standing up straight again and poking his belly. "You are going to be the cutest old man ever. And you will give me a ride around on your wheelchair, of course. We will be riding in style!" She saw, first, him biting down on his lip and then the tears in his eyes. Instantly her arms wrapped around him again and for once she was the one that could offer some comfort and whatever consolation she could. One hand smoothed through his hair over and over. "Yes, it already is beautiful and we have a very very long time to watch it blossom into a thing unmatched. Our new life together starts the moment we walk out the door and go back to your hou...to our home." She pressed her lips tenderly to his and then smiled. "Your pick up lines worked. Take me home now, Jono?"

"Absolutely, my darling Raye!" He grinned after the kiss, it making all his worries vanish. She had that effect on him, where she could immediately make it seem as if the world was not bad and there were no worries. So long as he had her, he could face anything. He reached down to snag her hand and started to escort her toward the door. "Glad to see ye like my lines! Good thing I didn't have to resort to ones about mirrors in pockets and such." He lightly snickered as he held the door open for her, exiting a moment after.
