"What has transpired between Mister Allen and myself is no business of anyone's, but ourselves. In that, if he chooses to come to see his son, he will be greeted as anyone else that has come to Belglade. With respect. I will not tolerate him being slandered or beaten down." As Shai spoke, Antonio looked at the ground, ashamed mostly.

"That is not to say, that I do not appreciate the protectiveness that you all have demonstrated for me and my son. But it is between my husband and myself. With that being said, please do not allow it to destroy the loyalty and respect that each of you have had for him and him for you."

Rochelle listened to Shai and was not shocked by her words. She had always demonstrated an alarming amount of class even if she was falling apart internally.

"Our lives are too short to allow anger and seething to take over and destroy what has been built and is glorious in it's own right. If you chose to move on, please know that while it will sadden me a great deal, I will understand and respect your decisions for you and your families."

At that point, Shai turned to Gio directly. "Please assure that Jericho is gone by dusk of this day." Gio knew, she meant by anyway possible. "He is of no use to me or to Belglade." He nodded and shifted his footing. "Consider it done, Mrs Allen."

"Thank you, Gio..."

"What would you like done with the forge Mr Allen built?" Franco's inquiry came with apprehension and Shai took a moment before responding. "It will remain where it is for now, through the winter. After such point, a decision will be made." Franco nodded.

"Which brings me to another point...there are many rumors floating around not only here, but in the city as well. I beg of you to not give them any credit or suspicion that they are fact. There are people that are so terrified to look at themselves, they will latch onto anything they can, to form fairy tales that float in a pool of vomit and discord. If I hear of them being discussed within the property lines of Belglade, I will ask that you take your leave and join them."

"Do any of you have question's?" Shai looked to each of the ones gathered, when none responded, she continued. "Since there are none, I wish to thank each of you for hearing me out and extend that thanks for everything that you have done here. My appreciation is without boundaries."

As they were all getting back to what they had been doing previous, Rochelle slipped an arm around Shai's waist and gave her a squeeze. "Ben fatto, caro uno."

This was not the appropriate time to tell Rochelle, but Shai would be returning to Venice with Nikolai, come the first sign of Spring.

A kiss to the older woman's cheek and Shai made her way back into the house.

The longer Shai stared out the bedroom window, the angrier she became. A single fingernail giving the pane a tap, Nikolai was cooing behind her in the bassinet and Gio gave her a tip of his head as he moved below, towards the footbridge not far away.

Ticking the window out a smidge, she called down. "Gio, good day....I wonder if you can do something for me at your convenience?" Shai's voice was level, as to not startle him or the child.

Gio turned and smiled, he even managed to sketch her a courtly bow. "I am but at your service, M' Lady...what can I do for you?"

Shai's mouth twittered into an akin of a smile and she waved a hand towards the small forge. "You can tear that down for me and culture the earth so that I may plant a rose bed, come the warmer weather. Oui?"

Gio hooked his thumbs into his suspenders and walked towards the referenced. He was shocked, but it didn't show along his weathered feature's. Not one bit did it. "Consider it done, M' Lady. I need to haul timber this afternoon, but will do it in the morning come first light...the ground shouldn't be too frozen yet."

This pleased Shai and she nodded. "Thank you, Gio....also, please tell Sophie that she left her shawl here last afternoon. I don't want her to think it gone missing."

"Ah, her momma scolded her last night and thought it was left out in the field's. I will most certainly tell her..." His eyes were gleaming in amusement. "Will that be all?"

"Oui, Gio....again thank you." And closed the window and curtain sheer's as the cold breeze was beginning to trickle in.

Gio stared up at the window a long moment before finally turning and resuming his path. If ever asked, he would never deny the pleasure he felt seeing the spark there in Shais' dark eyes....never would he deny it.
