The work was put off for the day, there were plans that needed formalizing. He had asked Shai for her hand, though it seemed like the hard part he was coming to learn that the devil is in the details. There would need to be a minister of some sort to preside and a place to have the ceremony. And then there would be the party afterwards that meant caterers...and cakes and music...lots of music to dance to. He looked to her as they walked the street together, a smile on his face. "I don't suppose you have something specific in mind for the reception...or should we have it on the grounds?"

Lacing her arm a bit deeper in the hook of his own, Shai was taking in the various shop windows as they were dressed for the week and stopped now and again to admire certain fabrics that were hung precariously for the public eye to see. His question coming as bit of a surprise, the Greek chuckled softly and took the moment to amuse him. "My Lord, have you finally decided to make true of your proposal, now that I am further along in our pregnancy and unable to fit into anything smaller than a tent they use at a carnival? Is it a case of my waist being just the right size as of now or my overflowing bust that cannot be contained in a reasonable bodice? Hmmmm, I wonder....and wonder well, mon amour..."

"Have you gained weight? I honestly hadn't noticed...you still look so appealing to me. As for wearing a tent from carnival, I don't think that will be the case. The question I have is shall we invite many or just those few who are with us always?" His opposite hand found her forearm. The smith rubbed it and gave her a gentle squeeze. "I will dress to match...either way I don't think it matters to those who love us." His steps matched hers, modified as she tired. "Still there is need to move quickly to finish before the little one is born."

Shai stopped dead in her slippered tracks and just -looked- at him. "Kruger, is there some deep and dark fetish you have to wear a woman's gown? I would greatly appreciate it as you say, if you kept that behind our bedroom door's and not our wedding." Dark eyes were glimmering in mirth, to him declaring he will dress to match. Amusement at it's finest and a clearing of her throat. "Oui, the ceremony and reception will be held at Belglade, surrounded by our constants and any other's you so desire. It saddens me that the Baron will not be present, but I will send for Tristan and Molly. I would like to include Hazeal and Chasmyr, but I have noway of knowing where they are at this time and I have retired the Bloodstone the moment you and I began cohabitating together. Are there some you wish to invite? The caterer's are of no issue, nor the florist. But, I do believe we should set a date.....perhaps and only if you find it necessary. But perhaps you would prefer going to the church this moment and being wed by the priest and then having a celebration after at some point in the future?"

He laughed at her joke stopping and shaking his head. "Mon amour you have seen every fetish that I have, more than once I daresay...and always behind the bedroom door." He considered that a moment before taking a deep breath to respond. "There are those whom I would invite, I don't know how many will be willing to show." His eyes sank to the dirt road for a moment before coming back up to her face. "I have a few amongst the Guardians, and some in the school that I will send invitations to there are those that I will go to who cannot be with us...one grouch of a dwarf in point of fact." He placed a kiss on her cheek then. "I would gladly marry you now Shai...if you would find that more appealing. I would let the world share it with us but we have never needed their approval...One thing though I would consider...to marry today would make certain it was done in case something happened to cause delay."

"Willing to show....what do you mean by that statement?" Stepping to the side of a drunk that was staggering by, Shai was rather concerned by what he had just stated. "Is it something that I have done to keep those you care for , of approving?" All at once, that feeling she had worked so hard to vanquish, was back front and center.

He shook his head. "Not at all mon amour, I spoke poorly is all. Able would be a better word than willing. Some will be impossible to reach, others I know of are mourning their own losses. Still others I haven't spoken to in a very long time. It is difficult to know what might keep them from showing up."

Nodding very slowly, something occurred to Shai in that moment. "Why do we not marry within the church and then plan an open house celebration in Belglade? While some may be present and other's may not, there is not a criteria in the planning of who attends and who does not. I know many would love to join in our nuptuals, it is simply impossible considering the distance and commitments other's must tend." A lean in and she kissed him gently.

He leaned in to her kiss, it kept him grounded in the here and now. "I think that is an excellent notion Shai. You don't think though that Rochelle will be upset that she has been excluded from this?" He could see that going either way, the woman would be what she was. He knew that she would be happy over the marriage, but there would be a part that had wanted to witness it. "Or should we perhaps send for her and a the others to witness our union?" He turned in front of her and looped his arms as far around her as he could in her condition.

Shai was not very large at this point, so his -looping- was quite easily managed. "You do have a point, I think she would be destroyed in all truth. She would not show it, but it would in fact be the case, perhaps the same for the others as well. Alas, we seem to have reached impasse. I am perfectly content to live in sin with you, Mister Allen." The twinkling of a grin slithering a moment, she then inquired. "Mon amour, is everything alright otherwise? Your dreaming state has been rather concerning the last few nights."

In point of fact it wasn't really all right, there had been a lot going on. "I have seen some disturbing things lately mon amour...some more than others. There was an incident at the school a few days back that has affected me. And there was another special order that." He shuddered. "I would prefer not to remember everything that was shown to me through it. I don't always know what I will be getting into mon amour...but I am willing to discuss it to a point."

As they began to walk once again, Shai quieted as she was taking in what he had said. At least the sun was out this day, adding a bit of warmth to an otherwise blustery day. Many years ago, considering her profession, she had accepted and almost preferred certain matters being kept from her line of sight, her fathom of knowing. That was however, with her clients. This was something altogether different, but she could not help the fact that it seemed as though Kruger lived another life outside of her. Or even several lives, considering she was not made privvy to anything outward. She was not quite certain how that left her to feel. Again, she was in the standing of being the entertainer. "I see, mon amour..." And with the grace of the ages, she continued. "The apothecary is around this corner, I shant be but a few moment's. "

"You don't want me to come with you?" He was confused by her inquiry and then no follow up questions. "What worries you mon amour? I will tell you anything, there are just memories of a sort that don't belong to me. I have them and worse...you know I am often approached to repair weapons of a more...enhanced nature. You know how the metal speaks to me...like the comb did, and the dead girl. I repaired something recently and..." His eyes dropped closed. "I have seen horrors performed by them, but I have never witnessed horrors done in the creation of them...not like this."

"You cannot pick and chose what life we share together. We either share our entire lives together or none. I would never want you to relive anything that causes you pain, mon amour, but there are somethings on your side and mine, that we have decided must be dealt with, even if that is only emotionally." Her voice that of a calming whisper, there was never anything harsh about Shai, but she had to make this known. "You vanish from me for days on end, when you reappear you carry on and I ask no questions, leaving it up to you to reach for me and you do not. I am not some priceless antiquity that will shatter if you breathe upon me, mon amour. But I do understand why you do not share these things with me." She would leave it at that, anything more and she would be sounding possessive.

"Do you remember the day you walked into the forge mon amour? When my songs so enchanted you?" He ran a hand through his hair and fixed his eyes on her face. "I am unlike any other smith in the city...that is not boast it is simple fact. I make no claims at greatness...I am simply different. When I begin one of those special ordered weapons, I must finish...to not do so holds some danger. I don't know how to explain it, there are things in this place that defy what is seen." He sighed softly to her before continuing. "I can't simply not do them either...I wish sometimes that I could but I believe I am called on to do these things."

All of this was understood, from beginning to end. But there was in fact another side to that coin. "Just remember, these that depend on you for your expertise are not the only ones who depend on you, but moreso depend on you to continue breathing life." Murmured against his lips, her arms snaked about his neck to nuzzle him closer. "I love you..."

"I will always come back to you and our child Shai...This is not the time of trouble before I met you. The time I had to find reason to live beyond myself and was sorely tempted..." He held her to him taking comfort in the scented oils she used on those places where stretching was occurring. "I have more to live for now than at any point before..." He claimed her murmuring lips for a time trying to reassure her. "Je t'aime...Shai Vevea"

Maybe he tasted the tears that were falling to drip between the joining of their lips. Tears of the unknown. She had always been a fiercely independent woman, calling from the highest of heights this and defying what was through centuries written as a woman's needs and behavior. This man, she chose to depend upon in such a way, she was not certain how she would continue on if he was not within any world. "Oui, I wish for you to come in with me, there may be a oil you prefer over the ones I use now." Taking his hand, the door was opened and the overhead bell rang, announcing their arrival within the shop.

He had once carried a blade forged by his own hands. At the time he had thought it a masters piece but the thing had been flawed. It had heightened his perceptions, and increased his emotional responses. He felt Shai's fears and pains now as though he were holding that sword in his hand. Perhaps in a way he was. "Anything else will and I won't be able to tell it is you in the dark mon amour...and you know how I love to find you in the dark." He gave her hand a squeeze and brushed a tear of his own from his cheek.
