Brian cursed the Nexus yet again as he made his way inside the Villa. One moment he was talking to Lucy, and then next he was some where in the West End. It took him a bit of time to get back home, and he was not in the best of moods to begin with.

Making his way inside the kitchen, Brian grabbed a bottle of red wine and poured himself a glass. A slow sip was taken from the glass as he made his way towards the hall, bottle and glass in hand. Taking a moment to check on Charlotte, he found her sleeping soundly with Jean-Luc. He smiled faintly for a moment, and then made his way into his weapons room.

Quietly he entered the circular room, and sunk into the couch and looked up to the ceiling. A long sigh escaped his lips as he just sat there. It had been a long couple of weeks and it had really gotten to Brian more than he cared to admit. His recent outburst in the Inn was proof of that. Truth be told it was more Brian's fault than anything else, and he knew it as well. Lucy's incidents, and Renna's pushing, Dana's Illness, Jewell's dilemma, and of course Amthyst. It just stacked up and came to a head.

Granted Dana healed and could now see, and Renna possibly decided to back off of Lucy a bit after the discussion she and Brian had. Still the incidents with Lucy were not pleasant to deal with, especially when Brian realized Mother had taken an interest once more in the girl, and also the fact that Brian could feel Lucy's enraged impulses as well. Brian had explained what he could do Renna and hoped she would decide to be motherly in regards to this and back off, as it was hardly fair to Lucy. Still, Brian also was given the task of trying to find a way to rid the influences of Darkin on her. That itself tore at Brian as it forced him to look at everything he had once done with the Gauntlet in years past. But this time he had an incredible source of assistance in Katharine.

Definitely one of the upswings to the week was finding Katharine in the Inn once more. It was great to see her once more, and be able to speak at length. To say Brian missed her was a bit of an understatement given how close they were to begin with. Of course it all went well until Katharine noticed changes in Brian's looks and mannerisms, causing Brian to have to explain to her about using the Gauntlet once more, going after Jewell and Tera with it, Renna and Lucy, and the fact that while the Gauntlet itself was sealed away, renmants were alive and well inside Lucy.

Katharine far from being amused ripped Brian a new one, and recalled her own occurences with the artifact. Convincing her to take a walk with him, Brian asked her to meet Lucy and see what might be able to be done. Katharine agreed and a date was set for Katharine to meet and with some luck convince Lucy to allow Katharine to work with her.

Brian also was deeply concerned about his sister. She was looking worse and worse every day since the new of Amthy's passing. Of course a good deal of that started before she was aware of the passing, and Brian knew where she was coming from. Her life at home was upside down, and her life outside was just as mixed up. Brian related to her more than she ever knew in that regard and wanted to be there for her, but knew in the end this was something she needed to sort out. Still it pained him to see her this way, normally it was he himself that was in shambles and Jewell was the one who kicked him in the ass. All he could do was watch and wait and pray Skyler wouldn't harm her emotionally, gods help him if that happened.

A slow sip of the wine once more, as he stood and walked around the house and recalled his attitude today in the Inn. It was rude as hell, that much was obvious. But in the truth, Brian didn't care. Charlotte voiced her concerns over Lucy stepping in with Galik took Liena or whatever the hell she called herself now, and Brian didn't care. In truth he wished Lucy had done more and possibly ripped Galik's throat out and slapped Liena and Aurthur upside their heads with it. Maybe that would teach Aurthur and Icer to handle their business and make sure when someone screws with their kids, they learn not to come back. Then again that would go against what Brian said earlier to Lucy about not lashing out, but if Li Li's parents wouldn't do anything, then he couldn't blame Lucy for trying.

Then there was Brian's rudeness to the newcomer that Charlotte had introduced him to that afternoon. In truth Brian was wrong all the way, but yet again he didn't find himself caring at all. He was just tired of it, and didn't want to be bothered. It wasn't like him, and he really know it was rude. But he just simply didn't care. Looking to Tyrsis leaning against the wall, Brian felt like hunting more than anything. But he put that aside, he didn't want that kind of life around Lucy and Charlotte anymore. Still it seemed the more he distanced himself, and more he wanted it. Like an addiction of sorts. He needed an outlet and cooking just wasn't cutting it.

Something tugged at him ever so slightly, and at times it was so strong he just couldn't ignore it. Setting the glass and bottle down on the dining table, Brian quietly made his way inside their bedroom, and into the walk- in closet. Moments later he emerged in a fresh change of clothes. Dressed head to toe in black, Brian exited the room and made for the living room. A moment taken to adjust the solid collar to his dress shirt, he pulled his full lengthed leather trench from the coat rack and then recovered Tyrsis and was soon out the door and headed to the stables. Looking for an outlet he knew just he place to go, the Chainned Inn.

When Charlotte had asked Brian earlier if he was coming home, this wasn't exactly what she had in mind. Now, he didn't lie....because he obviously had returned...but she'd wanted to talk to him.

When he missed dinner, Charlotte resigned herself to spend the evening with Jean-luc on the livingroom floor. She lay there, sprawled out with Jean half laying on top of her, staring at the ceiling.

Dozens of thoughts raced through her head...none of which were pleasant. Of course, she always worried about Brian; expecially when he said he'd be home. Something could have happened to him or....Charlotte immediately dismissed such a notion. Then her thoughts wandered to the recent news of Amthy. Granted, Charlotte hadn't known her for very long or even that well, but still. Death was something that bothered Charlotte. What hurt her most was Jewell's reaction to miss Amthy's death. She'd have to go and visit her....bring cookies or something. Well, maybe not cookies....lord knows Charlotte's cooking skills can be disasterous.

Then she thought of her parents....her brother........they were long gone. What would life have been like if they were still around? Would they have liked Brian? Would they have approved? Charlotte knew her father had met Brian, but would he have really allowed her to get married?

Married?

Charlotte loved Brian with all her heart and wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of her life with Brian Ravenlock....but she was beginning to wonder if he had his doubts. The simple fact that he basically refused to set a date had her slightly suspicious that he wasn't all for it. She didn't doubt his love for her, just the whole marriage idea.

Jean licked her cheek. Damn! It was getting late and he still wasn't home. She couldn't wait any longer; she was about to fall asleep. Dragging herself off the floor, Char angled for the bedroom and stopped in front of the mirror. She looked terrible. Jean pushed past her and hopped onto the bed, sitting there like a sphinx.

Opening the closet, Charlotte grabbed one of Brian's old shirts that came about halfway to her knee and carried it over to the bed. She shed her other clothing and then let Brian's shirt fall over her frame, then climbed into bed with Jean. She'd talk to him when he came to bed.

The first time Brian checked on her, she truly was asleep....but the second time he entered the room, Charlotte was awake. She lay there in the darkness, waiting for him to get into bed...but he never did. Her back was cleverly to him so he'd have no idea she was awake....and then.........he was gone. He left....

Charlotte was very confused. But...she eventually fell back asleep.
