Brian's eyes opened... He had no idea what time it was, or how much time had passed since he actually drifted off. His eyes blinked a bit to adjust to the darkness, then he began to rise from the bed and was stopped nearly as soon as he tried. He smiled and turned on his side to find Charlotte snuggled next to him. A soft murmur escaped her lips as he disturbed her slumber with his movements. Thoughts of getting out of bed were tossed aside, as he laid next to her once more and watched her sleep.

His thoughts drifted to the earlier evening, when he finally found her in the Inn. The talk they had,the anger and confessions, tears and assurances, love proclaimed and the feeling of being whole once more. It was a whirlwind contained in a few hours, and it was something he truly didn't want to have to do again.. Well the part in the Inn at least, the time spent after they arrived home was another matter entirely.

Brian smiled as he reached over and gently caressed her hair. He continued to watch her sleep, thankful to the gods for her return and a much clearer perspective on their love. All insecurities tossed aside, doubt was erased from his mind and replaced by a determination for their future. The last few days were something Brian did not want to revisit ever again. Still as bad as they were, they still served a purpose. Brian knew things could not go on the way they had been, especially in regards to the chaotic lives they found themselves leading. Nearly wholly in part to Brian's dealings with Renna.

"You know Renna will never go away."

Charlotte's word rang on Brian's mind, and they rang with truth. Renna would not simply go away, if only it were that easy. Brian knew however, that his dealings would have to be severed. Brian refused to let outside influences wreak havoc once more, and resolved himself to be stronger especially in those regards. So Renna and whatever else would be dealt with and kicked aside. As he stated earlier to Charlotte, he would to whatever it took. Leaning over, he gently kissed her cheek and caressed her head gently. Then he simply watched her sleep. Something he could see himself doing for a very long time to come.

After a good deal of time, the sun began its glorious rise in the east. Noting the change in light, Brian smiled and gently recovered his arm from Charlotte and kissed her cheek once more before slipping out of bed, and then was on his way towards the kitchen.

Moments later the kitchen came alive, as Brian fired up the stove and prepared to make breakfast. While the stove was heating up, he slipped out the back door to the patio. A moment later he found himself in his garden, as he inspected several of the crystal roses he had grown. He smiled, as he checked each one. These roses were grown in his homeland and were transparent with a tint of blue ice. In the light they gave the impression they were made of crystal and were a sight to behold. Brian selected and picked three of them and made his way back inside. He slipped the long stemmed roses into a slim vase and set it on the dinner table, and went to the kitchen and began breakfast. He hoped he could keep the element of surprise.
