Brian arrived back in Rhydin not long after sundown. He had just gotten back from Bastok in Vana'diel where he had some work to do with Henrietta and Narin concerning a rare metal called Vitrallum that needed to be obtained. Once that was done Brian also needed to pack whatever he had left behind in his Mog House (An apartment in the residential district) and bring it back to Rhydin with him. Luckily he didn't have too much in the way of property left in Vana'diel. His break up with Gorg pretty much solidified that little fact. He made a mental note.. Never leave all of your property at the home of your lady love and expect to get it all back in the event of a break up. He laughed to himself and remembered when he would never leave any of his belongings at home of any woman he was involved in. Ah the days when life was much simpler in Rhydin. After he was done packing his horse Brian decided it was time to go back home to drop off his items. That being the case he set out for the Northern town gates and to his Villa.
Brian drew some curious looks as he rode his horse along the cobblestoned path. He nodded politely and wondered why he had recieved some of the looks he had gotten, and then he laughed to himself a bit. He was still dressed in in his Federation Aketon and Ranger gear, and colored in two shades of green, black and gold. An outfit not worn by many in Rhydin, if any at all. He made a note not to wear to many outfits from Vana'diel while in town, as he didn't like to stand out. Leaving the town gates Brian then headed North and soon was taking that familiar right turn and then down the dirt trail that in about a mile would lead him home. With the moon light as his only source of light Brian looked around the area as he continued. The ground still covered in a light blanket of snow, gave the illusion that the ground was a literal sea of white, save the various naked trees about the area. Soon he saw the lights from the Villa and he smiled. "She kept her word."he said as he rode towards the house. Through the wrought iron gate, and up the small path that lead through the door he went. From the front the house looked the same as it was over two years aho when he last lived there. Since then he had paid a woman by the name of Emeralda to look after the Villa. He trusted her enough for the job and if she got out of line then Jean-Luc would have alerted him. He trusted the large Moor Cat more than he trusted himself at time and was think of him when he looked to the porch and saw his eyes. "Took ya long enough, ya mangy cat." Stopping the horse and hopping off, Brian then took off the saddle bags and tossed them to the porch. Taking a moment as he pet the large cat roughly on his head and then lead the horse to the stable. Once that was taken care of Brian made his way back around and grabbed the bags and opened the door. The smell of beef stew was the first thing he noticed, and the aroma hit him just as hard as when he was punched in the kisser by the lap dancer from Windhurst last summer during his training at Heaven's Tower. His eyes widened as he moved inside and was followed by Jean. His eyes glanced around the foyer as he noted various candles lit around the living room and dining area and a small note had been left with a large bundle of what looked like mail. The note read :
"Mister Raven,
Welcome back. Dinner is waiting, I made enough to last a few days. I will be back in about three days to check on you. I have kept your mail for you and also took care of your other requests. The Villa should be just as you left it. If you need me sooner I will be at my cousin Trielda's home on the east end and can be contacted there. Also "David" has been moved to the back yard as per your request. Katharine also came by many times, but I have not seen her in over three months now. Just thought you should know. Again welcome back.
'Emeralda"
Smiling as he read the letter, he set it down and grabbed the bundle of mail and moved to the dining room. He tossed the bundle to the table and went into the Kitchen and began to serve himself. He was home again and it felt good. There was a lot to do and quite a bit to sort out as well. But first it was time to eat and sort mail.. Or maybe eat again.
