Jewell and her kin had grown very dear in her heart... it only seemed right the House of Ravenlock with all it's numbers be invited. A dark and royal blue envelope struck out amid the reds whites and greens...

She was lying on the small couch in her study, staring up at the invitation in her hand. It had been a few days since she had received it and she had yet to make a reply. It wasn't that she did not want to spend time with her family and friends, it was just that she did not revel at the idea of spending time with all her family and friends.

She was pretty sure Alex and Lain would be there after seeing how suddenly close Brian and Alex were again the other night. She hadn't gotten the full story (or any of the story) about how that had happened but she didn't really care; she was happy for both of them, somewhat relieved that they were finally getting along. It meant she didn't have to referee fights between them again (for some time, at least). However, just because she was happy that Alex and Brian were getting along didn't mean she wasn't angry with Alex. Actually, she was close to furious. Seeing him speaking with Leslie and Cassandra the other night when she had seven kids at home that were constantly disappointed when he failed to visit...

Ugh, she couldn't even think about it too much without seeing red.

She refused to even think about what else was bothering her besides his inattention to the kids--what she had mentioned to the ladies last night, her tendency to perhaps shine too much. Thinking that perhaps she was the reason that Alex had stopped being the more social, playful, fun person he was once again without her was unpleasant, to say the least. So, she dismissed it and looked at the invitation once more.

She had briefly mentioned it to Skyler, who seemed just as unenthusiastic about the idea as she had felt. Having him there would make the situation even more awkward than it already was but she would rather not go without him.

Sighing, she reached back and set the invitation on the table behind her. For at least one more day it would go unanswered.

Once she had decided to go to the party, she went all out--as she did for most events in life--in getting an outfit. Tara was supposed to be there and since her BFF refused to tell her what she was planning to wear, The Empress couldn't be too careful. Also, as Jenai was refusing all weapons, magic and violence Jewell was resorting to fashion warfare!

She giggled like an excited little girl as she examined herself in the mirror with her dress on. It appeared to be made of giant forget-me-not petals; Jewell knew that was exactly what they were. An added bonus that came along with her ability to change her physical size was being able to change the size of her clothing as well.

Softer than most silks, the forget-me-not petals wrapped around her body in delicious shades of blue. The petals were enchanted, naturally, so as not to fade as she wore them and served as a nice compliment to her perfect, practically glowing, skin. The cut served to flatter her figure as well: a halter top (she was right when she told Amthy that halters accented her bosom perfectly) with the hem line cut just to her knees in the front and falling down to her ankles in the back in large flounces created with the natural curve of the petals.

Simple heels and jewelry were added so as not to detract from her dress. She piled half of her hair atop her head in little ringlets, the rest left to fall down her exposed back.

She blew herself a kiss in the mirror, it was obvious where Eva Jade had gotten such a habit from. She was no longer apprehensive about the evening; it was so much easier to be nice to people you didn't like when you looked pretty.
