Brian had finally done it. He proposed; and Charlotte couldn't be any happier. Congratulations were given, and the two lovers grinned like fools all day. And now, after the initial shock had worn off, Char still couldn't describe her happiness.

With Brian at work, Charlotte had decided to invite Jewell and Kairee over to look through wedding magazines and tell boy horror stories. Kind of like an early bachelorette party. She was skittering around the kitchen, trying to make tea...but she couldn't even get the water to boil. Brian was going to have to explain how to work all these weird appliances. She shrugged and just decided to summon some tea when the girls arrived.

Moving from the kitchen to the livingroom, Charlotte picked up a bag that she had set by the couch containing several magazines, pictures, and brochures. All had to do with weddings and vacations. Though she was sure their honeymoon would be spent in Vana'diel, Charlotte still wanted to give Brian a few other ideas. But Char was actually looking forward to visiting Brian's old home. She'd get a chance to meet everyone he talks about all the time, and also see Jeskola again!

Everything was dumped onto the coffee table in a jumble. A loose sheet of paper missed the table and floated to the floor. AS Charlotte bent to pick it up, she smiled, immediately recognizing what it was. She gingerly picked it up and brushed her fingers over it. It was the picture that Jayde had drawn which Charlotte would be framing and giving to Brian on their wedding day. The picture showed Charlotte's engagement ring hanging on a string, with a man's wedding ring hanging along side it. THe picture was in black and white and had great detail.

She tucked the paper into one of the magazines so that she could show the girls later. Turning out all the lights, save the ones in the hallway and livingroom, Charlotte was just about to grab another blanket out of their room when she heard the doorbell ring. Who could it be?

Jewell had a delightful chat with Fire before she left the Inn after Charlotte. The woman intrigued her but she could dwell on that later! She had rushed home to make sure the house was in order, grabbed the books she had mentioned to Charlotte and had left the house again. Amanda had declined the initial invitation and had seemed upset about something. Jewell would make sure to talk with her later about it.

Just before she stepped out the door, Devyn had attached herself to Jewell's leg and refused to let go. The three-year-old had become more clingy as of late and Jewell had been unable to leave without her. She had to hike it back upstairs to dress Devyn properly before she was finally able to leave.

With such a delay, she was still first in getting to Brian's Villa. Correction, Brian and Charlotte's Villa. She was genuine in her happiness of inviting Charlotte into the family. Yes, she had felt kind of special being the only girl for a while now but she would not begrudge Charlotte the joy of marriage to Brian and her deserved place in their family circle. Rather, she was looking forward to it. Jewell had many close friends, friends close enough to be sisters, but to have a sister in name was something to look forward to.

With happy thoughts in mind, Jewell rang the bell. In one arm were the wedding books. In the other arm, Devyn. Walking had quickly lost its appeal to the little girl and she was now being carried, pleased as punch, in her mother's arm. Dark curls bounced with each step, grey eyes looking out for everything she recognized and then she would name them, "Tree; rock; bunny; cloud; star; moon; leaf; green; pink; flower..." Jewell was more then relieved to get to the Villa.

She made a mad dash to the door and peeked out the window before opening it. That had become a habit...one she'd probably never be rid of. Seeing it was Jewell, she smiled and opened the door.

"Jewell!" Charlotte opened the door wider, allowing her future sister-in-law to enter. Upon seeing little Devyn, Charlotte was somewhat surprised, but no worries. She just told herself that she had to get used to little ones sooner or later. "Who's this little lady?" The question was directed to Jewell, but Charlotte was smiling at Devyn and fingering one of her dark curls.

Jewell probably would not have bothered ringing the bell if it weren't out of consideration for Charlotte. Also, it was kind of hard to juggle the kid and the books and to open the door. When Charlotte did so, she got an ever-so grateful smile from Jewell as she stepped inside.

"Yah, sorry about that. This is Devyn, little brat was throwing an unholy fit as I tried to leave the house. Say hi to Aunt Charlotte, Dev."

Devyn, who did not seem to at all mind being called a little brat, smiled a little toothy grin for Charlotte, "Hi!" Grey eyes looked her "aunt" over, "Yellow." A little pudgy finger pointed to Charlotte's hair. Then eyes were all on that hand with the ring on it, "Pretty, ring, pretty."

"She's quite the chatter box, unfortunately. You'd think, with tons of siblings, she would be quiet and let them do all the talking but nooo." She took a quick look around, "Got a closet we could lock her in? Or maybe just Jean to play with?"

Kairee

The Knight-errant was good looking but boring.

On a whim Kairee had accepted his offer to escort her to House Ravenlock. At first it was quite dashing. He had a quite attractive rouncey and he helped her gallantly upon the saddle. Taking the reigns, he nobly led them along the lanes toward Kairee?s destination. Quiet a sight they must have seemed.

Quiet picturesque.

Quite charming.

But then he started talking and ruined it all.

Hearing his tale of the latest tourney he was in was amusing at first. Her amusement lessons at the telling of the tourney before that. By the time of the telling of the one previous to those two, Kairee cast Silence about him and enjoyed the pleasant ride in peace.

She smiled sweetly as he helped her down; talking all the while but she heard not one word of it. Waving him away but leaving the spell in place; she watched him leave. The spell will wear off in a few hours and until then he won?t bore anyone to death.

Her good deed for the decade done.

Standing before the door, Kairee looks over the house; seeking its Wards and protections. Only when she is satisfied she has seen what she needs to see does she make the door knock.

Charlotte laughed and played self-conciously with her ring. For the first time, she felt at ease around a child of this age. In fact, she found Devyn absolutely adorable! Charlotte held out her arms, seeing if the child would come to her and to her delight, Devyn launched herself at Charlotte. She laughed again and cuddled her "niece", winking at Jewell.

"I suppose you know your way 'round this place. Just toss yer coat any ole' place. I've got everything set up in the livingroom."

There was a knock on the door and Charlotte grinned at Dev. "Who could that be, huh?" The little brown haired beauty stared at her, wide-eyed and answered by throwing her hands up above her head. "Donno'."

Charlotte giggled and swung the door open again to reveal the ever-gorgeous Kairee. "Hey! You made it!"

Kairee

Kairee's smile is as dazzling as ever, "Wouldn't miss it for the world, babes."

Her emerald eyes roamed the interior of the home as she entered, seeing both the physical and metaphysical layers, "So, this is where the Ravenlocks call home....." spotting Jewell, Kairee sends her a saucy wink,"Hey sexy." Her gaze descends to peer at the small humanoid, "What have we here? Yet another baby bunny venturing out from the warren, Mama Rabbit?"

She smiled as Devyn easily transferred herself from Jewell's arms to Charlotte's- there was a load off her arms! "Sure thing, sweet thang," she laughed, depositing her light jacket on the nearest surface she could find.

No sooner had she done so then she turned to greet Kairee at the door, "Ooh, all these lovely girls in one place is gonna set the house on fire. Good thing its not mine!" Where did she get these corny lines? She was stopped from making any more verbal absurdities by Kairee's question in observing Devyn, "Oh, that's truly my littlest baby; she's youngest of the brood and was quite physically attached to me today when I tried to leave. She's just learning her colors so I figure she could help Charlotte match stuff, yah know?" Impish little grin and air smooch towards the kiddo who returned the gesture best she could by delightfully smooshing her lips together.

"Alright ladies...and little lady," Charlotte began, tapping Devyn on the nose, "Guess we can head on into the living room. I didn't know what ya'll liked...or wanted to drink, so just let me know and I'll summon it up."

Bouncing the little girl as she made her way down the hall, Charlotte made a detour into the kitchen and grabbed a few more brochures from off of the counter. Jean was at her heels when she padded into the livingroom, so she set Devyn down to play with the big cat. Charlotte then seated herself down on the couch and tucked her feet underneath herself and smiled at both ladies.

"I've never planned a wedding before, so frankly I have no idea of what to do. So uhh, spill any ideas that you have!"

Kairee

Sinking into what appeared to be a comfy chair, Kairee crossed her long splendiferous legs, "Don't look at me, sweets, I've never been married. I have attened a few though....there was always some sort of ceremony involved. What was odd about that is that the ceremony wasn't always magical. They say the ritual performed is meant to have some meaning to the bride and groom...it must be whatever their local custom is....and you would know that better than I.

"However, there is always a party involved...and gifts" she smiles.
