They ran through the woods like two crazy kids, the fae only slowing her lead as the trees became thick around them. Her eyes were superior in the night, noticing the fallen branches, raised roots, and other obstructions on their path. She held his hand, leading him confidently through the night with only the occasional moonlight breaking through the clouds and foliage to guide the way. A laugh here, direction to watch his step there, were the sounds that cut through the usual nighttime noises of the outdoors.

She gave a little shout of excitement when she saw a dark wall of trees ahead, pulling him quickly once more towards them and the glade hidden within their safety. It looks impregnable at first, solid trunks blocking their way; she had searched hours one day for the way inside. Their entrance was a small space carved by a stream between two large sentinel oaks, lucky that they were both as lithe as they were. Upon first looking at the glade, it was obvious why nature-or perhaps the creatures that guided it-had hidden the area off with such a wall.

The glade was bigger than the common room at the Inn, the shade of the trees on its edge unable to touch the center of the pool. The stream that carved their entrance was one of the sources of the pool that was mere feet before them. Rocks lined the northern edge of the body of water to their left; perfect for laying in the mid-afternoon sun or jumping off into the water. They stood on the eastern edge, feet sinking into a short stretch of grass while the southern and western lengths were hidden in ferns and other foliage.

The babbling stream was sweet music accompanied by crickets and the occasional toad. The clouds that passed over the moon to shield her light from them was not a problem as the light of faeries and sprites dancing in the bordering treetops provided all the light they needed. Even the fae?s skin, as she let the fa?ade crafted with glamour fall a little, had the lightest silvery sheen to it.

This glade was more than a sweet, romantic spot. It came alive with magic at night.

Shedding clothes like an unwanted, unneeded, skin, she danced towards the water?s edge. The still pond called to her to disturb it. With light laughter seeping out of her untamable smile as she greeted an old friend, she walked upon the water. It held her up, feet barely making a print upon the smooth surface as she twirled about for a moment. Spinning around completely she turned to face her young lover again, she held a hand out to beckon him to join her in this dance.

With his hand in hers, they danced upon the water and the water danced around them as she laughed and sang, calling it to do her will.
